Always a pleasure visiting this Sushi Train for a meal. The sushi is always fresh and the staff are always friendly. The restaurant is always clean and we look forward to our next visit.

One of the hidden gems of the eastern suburbs - great value and food; honestly one of my favourite places for takeaway and eating in - plus the staff are the best, super friendly and helpful. They also have a bunch of Japanese drinks, snacks and a few pantry staples.
$19.50 for a poorly made karage chicken rice bowl. Chicken taste frozen and over cooked, rice has a very odd taste to it.
Had takeaway of crispy chicken ramen. Was in the mood for noodle soup and didn’t have many other options in the area. Whilst price is relatively higher than other ramen places, I have to say the chicken amount was generous. It was more like katsu chicken, but it tasted nice. Can’t say it’s authentic Japanese ramen since it has lots of veggies that aren’t usually in ramen but I don’t mind. The boiled seasoned egg was tasting nice too. Broth could have more depth but in general it was a satisfying meal.

I recently visited this Japanese restaurant with my family and was thoroughly impressed! The variety of options is fantastic, with a range of grab-and-go sushi options as well as cooked meals that can be enjoyed in the comfort of the dining area or taken on the go. The quality of the food is exceptional, with fresh and flavorful ingredients used throughout. The atmosphere is welcoming and modern, the staff are friendly and attentive.

A great local sushi place that I go to almost every week. The staff are nice and the food is delicious. Highly recommend if you want some Japanese food. - I love the bento J and Beef Curry Don.

RIp off. Main for $48. Seven tiny cube pieces of Steak as per picture. 5 Tiny pieces of Chicken and small bowl of Rice. I told the owner what is this. Now I have to go to Mcdonalds to eat. He was rude and had 2 long pieces of hair from his chin and is hovering over you all the time to make sure you have having a good time.
The Chef was even embarassed with the portions and said I can only cook what they give me. Throwing an egg and rice into a bowl is all the entertainment you will get. They keep bragging how they have been in business for 26 years for ripping people off.

The major failing of this business is the size of the eating area. Elbow to elbow around the bbq plate and a noise level that set off my iPhone sound warning multiple times were the big issues of the night. A 90 minute serving cycle also dampened the otherwise entertaining staff. Everything about the place is cramped not evening allowing adequate birthday celebrations space or time after the chef show. There are better examples in Sydney so seek them before trying this one.

Incredibly impressed, wish we had one to this standard back home. Love the way the train is sectioned rather than random. And supreme hygiene standard. Love love love!

This place is bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside with plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. I was seated as soon as I walked in the door by a friendly polite lady. I will be back for more.

Awesome atmosphere and entertainment by Ronnie, the chef. I celebrated my daughter's BD at Hayashi and we had the most amazing dinner with the Matsu set. Will definitely be back for another teppanyaki.

We are very impressed with the transition of this little restaurant. We came here a couple of years ago and didn’t have a good experience until recent.

We are happy to find this restaurant open on Good Friday since most restaurants nearby closed. It offers variety choices at reasonable price.
Chef was very attentive to guests, to the littlest details including making sure that the food was not too salty for us. Made the night so much fun and entertaining. All the meat were cook just right - including the calamari which was very tender, steak was just right and tender. $48 for the banquet was well worth it considering the amount of food in this day and age of high inflation.

Pretty disgusted by the treatment from staff we experienced yesterday. We were first greeted and seated by a young woman. My baby was in the pram with us. We parked the pram and then sat down, shortly after who I assume was the manager, and the young waitress came up to us and asked if we could move the pram behind the table as they couldn't get through to other tables. There was space as my sister managed to walk past the pram to sit down. Understand if maybe it was a safety issue but nothing else was said. My baby was asleep in the pram and it would have been out of my view and arms reach, who on earth would ask a parent to do this? They offered for us to sit somewhere else, but again the pram wouldn't have been close enough to me. They just stared at us saying nothing else and we decided to leave. No apologies or a decent attempt to serve us. We just felt like we were inconveniencing them. As we were leaving we noticed the EXACT same situation at another table, adjacent to where we were sitting, yet they clearly weren't asked to move the pram. Why was it okay for them but not us? Will never return here.

Got food poisoning and horrible diarrhoea after eating 2 tuna avocado sushi rolls yesterday. Not fresh obviously. Going to report you to the Department Of Health. I hope you get shut down.
Hands down my favourite sushi to get in the whole of Oz. Nothing compares & competes with Momo’s. Doesn’t matter what you get, it’s going to be good! & Of course i mean it, they my G’s

Great place to bring a few friends for sushi train, but for me, who often comes to town alone, I love this as a place I can eat for one. Sit at the belt, listen to music, grab a beer and pick whichever plates you fancy.

First time at this restaurant tonight and wow what an amazing experience! The food and service was second to none. Super friendly staff and a lovely environment to enjoy a delicious meal. We will definitely be back!
Have grabbed take away from here a few times. If you're after quick service and most importantly delicious food at a good price, this is your place. Usually the serving portions have been good.
Never been to a restaurant like this. The chef was amazing. We went as a large family group. All food is cooked on a large hotplate in front of you. I won't spoil it but the chef plays catching games which are great fun. Get your camera ready! Would love to come here again one day.
Average food. Unfriendly staff. No smile at all. Automatically closed the til while I were still waiting for my change (yeah, sorry no tips for you), staff looked at me like what are you waiting for but soon realised that she needs to give me the change (perhaps forgot about it), she eventually gave me the change but didn’t say anything, and again no smile.
Have my dinner here on Wednesday night at 7pm, staffs weren't friendly, they gave me wet bowl without dry clean it, food was so so nothing special, soup was cold not hot at all, several not happy with the food and service
This is my second time here, and it was just as amazing as the first. The food is incredible! The staff are very helpful and friendly and it's a really lovely restaurant.
A real surprise, didn't look like much, wasn't even sure it was open as we wandered by & decided to give it a go. Inside was nice, a liked the decor. The 2 young guys working the floor were excellent, the food is very well priced and is good quality. All 3 of us enjoyed each dish, will definitely go back.
I call here on a Friday night on my way home from a late shift at work. The food is generally fresh as it appears it is popular place so there is always fresh food coming out from the kitchen. Value for money is excellent. I buy 3 small servings of Teriyaki chicken, Fried Rice and the delicious mixed vegetable range. This lasts me for 3 or 4 meals. Some nights if it's getting towards 9pm they reduce the price of the food which is still very fresh.
I am not gonna lie, we ordered too much but every single time an item came up, it was so good and i can’t believe it to be frank. It didn’t cost too much, the food was fresh and warm especially in cold tassie weather.
The mango mochi was one of my greatest culinary experiences. Soft, squishy, creamy and sweet. I might need to up my mochi standard yet it was the best I’ve had.

The sushi is nice ,however the service is terrible the sashimi wasn’t that great iv had much better for the price. The wait for maid to order is so long. Even though the shop was empty. And still the spider roll comes out cold :-(
I've been buying my lunch from Sushi Momo for years and they have consistently served up high quality freshly made sushi. Good range on offer and also happy to accommodate my dietary restrictions by making me a veggie sushi roll without the pan fried tempera batter. They're sushi always tastes just right for me, light on the rice vinegar and mayonnaise.
I was excited to find a Japanese restaurant close by as we were in Ringwood for house inspections and missed lunch. Went to Hitoshi Sushi and ordered 2 types of ramen. Mine was chashu ramen. Chashu looked different but tasted great. Sadly the ramen broth was not what I expected and my first thought was “this is Chinese soup”; and don’t get me started on the broccoli in the bowl!!! Ahhh … I am sorry but i do not recommend this place to those who seek good Japanese food. If you are happy to eat Soup noodles, just take it for what it is. Same with the spicy hot ramen, not Japanese taste.

It was my first Teppanyaki and I enjoyed it. The food was ok. Service was friendly and well organized.
For a sushi train restaurant my expectations were low. Sushi Jiro was pleasantly surprising. Dishes were plentiful and fresh. Each dish was approx $5 each. Nigiri, and Unagi sushi was particularly good. Meguro was good, but salmon sashimi was a little ‘fishy’. Overall this is a more pricey option than other places in the mall, but the quality and variety is much better here. Definitely recommended. Staff was super friendly and attentive.

For anyone looking looking for authentic Japanese food then I suggest please do not put your hopes too high. Yes this place offer "japanese" inspired dishes but I don't think it's authentic enough. It's looking more identical to Chinese food joint especially if you check at the bait Marie variety
However if anyone is not fuss and just looking for decent meal at decent price then you should be fine.
I ordered a the combination lunch dishes which cost me $15 for large size and $13 for small size. Taste wise it's ok as I don't expect too much on par with my expectation.

Great little sushi shop got these 3 for $17 , can't beat that for a nice lunch
Very warm service, and very fresh food, very fair price. You can also order, or you can go directly from the rotating Get something sushi to eat. It's easy, quick and clear.
Disappointed with this place.. most expensive sushi “take-away” I’ve had anywhere in Aus I think. Quality wasn’t the greatest, and you had to pay 80c extra if you wanted soy or wasabi…
This is the first time we tried Sushi Train. We went at 4pm which probably explains why there are few food missing already but we still enjoyed it. My daughter loved it hence the 5 stars.

Excellent customer service with nice and fresh food. They can modify your set menu and choose accordingly. The service was quick and not huge crowded place, you can definitely sit and relax to enjoy your food. Plenty of street parking available outside, but it might be busy if turn up during the lunch hour on business days. Overall I would recommend this place.

Lovely family owned Japanese restaurant and takeaway sushi. Very fresh and delicious sashimi and sushi. Love the big variety of bento boxes to choose from. My favourite is the tempura, sashimi and unagi rice box. Friendly staff and fast service!

The staff were very friendly but the food was not great! I ordered chicken katsudon and it seems it had been cooked a few hours before and been sitting in a warmer. The chicken was very dried (I couldn’t eat it) and the crumb was just wet. I won’t come again.
Great little Japanese restaurant. Refurbished since our last visit some time ago and looking very nice. Like all businesses at the moment looking for staff but service was responsive and attentive. Meals were very good. The establishment is licensed (wine selection limited but well priced), usual beers plus a few Japanese brands and saki of course. You can also byo ( I think that corkage was $2 per head). Will visit again.

The customer service was great. They were very accommodating and welcoming as soon as we got to the front of the restaurant. They even gave me a foot stool as I couldn’t reach the floor which was nice of them. Food was simple but nice. Watching the chef cook was very entertaining
Friendly staff. The atmosphere is… kinda chaotic. I wouldn’t say there is one. The music is way too loud and people are so loud trying to talk over it and each other. You can’t hear the person across the table from you talking. The sushi is good but small portions. Desserts are okay but again small portions. It’s pretty fun seeing all the food go around and ordering for the express train to come to your table. But all in all I wouldn’t come back because it wasn’t that amazing. It was busy but they didn’t even refill the water on our table and they were bringing things to our table when we ordered so they had chances to do it. You’d expect that much when people are paying hundreds of dollars. But, they were all young and it was very busy. For 5 adults with no drinks it was $200 and still leaving hungry.

Amazing food and amazing customer service! Thank you to the staff for going above and beyond! My husband, myself and our 6 kids went here for lunch today and the whole experience was absolutely great. The staff moved tables around and created a spot that fitted us all and a double pram, we didn’t even ask, they were just so courteous and thoughtful. The food was the best sushi we have had, the rolls were so fresh and so generous in sizing and my husbands karage bowl was super fresh and a generous serving size also. Definitely will be back, thank you for making our lunch experience just so lovely ❤️ Merry Christmas to you all

it's been 2 years since i last left a review, and after they have recently renovated the restaurant, i am so excited to say midori japanese kitchen is back!! service is just as good as it has always been, food is delicious and very well priced, and the new atmosphere and recent updates to the space really pull the whole restaurant together. its always lovely to eat out here as a solo diner, as well as with friends. highly recommend if you want some cheap, delicious and fantastic japanese food!!
We've been to a fair few Sushi Trains in SE QLD and this one didn't disappoint. Good variety and well-stocked train. The main sushi chef that day was a bit sloppy with his creations but it didn't affect the taste. Super impressed with the hot meals - particularly the Japanese curry. The katsu chicken was incredibly crunchy on the outside but juicy in the middle. Other than being a bit understaffed, everyone was friendly and attentive. If you don't want to be waiting in line for ages, try and get there before 12:30pm for lunch.

I absolutely love this place. Staff are friendly, good prices. The food there is always worth it, sushi and meals. Totally recommend if you're considering going.
I really love their chicken karaaga meal with rice.
Would love to be able to give a high rating but I simply can't based on the price against the portion size of my order.
I ordered the chicken teriyaki with rice and even though it tasted good, it was definitely not worth $13.90.
There are other sushi places close by that sell a similar meal, but have larger portions and for a much cheaper price.
I'd highly recommend you look at fixing this.

Not really authentic Japanese so much as your stock standard Astral/Asian cuisine with a Japanese-esk flair. It's pretty much on par with your regular shopping centre food court product. The service was friendly enough.
Hokkaido Sushi has very good customer service but the sushi quality is below average (in comparison to the Sydney standard). I was very impressed with the mini subway train which was operated to deliver orders.
Overpriced sushi, low quality and they environment as excuse for soy sauce that should be complementary with each sushi you buy as a takeaway but yet they still sell it! Not coming back won’t recommend. Plenty other places that treat customers fair and won’t rip ppl off

3. If you want to reduce plastic waste by not giving necessary sushi additives you shouldn’t SELL them as well. Otherwise it will come across as you are abusing environment as an excuse to put money in your own pocket.

We ordered ubereats from Hitoshi Sushi as I was craving for ramen and my two friends ordered separate bentos. This is my first experience with their store.
First of all, we were very impressed with the variety of choices on the menu! But next, we were astounded by the portions! I definitely wasn’t expecting that many chicken strips on my ramen. I was also very happy to see lots of vegetables in my ramen (I know it’s not common) but I wanted a balanced meal so it was perfect!
Needless to say, there were lots of leftovers for the next day. We are also very grateful for the 2 free Softdrinks they gave us. Thank you very much Hitoshi Sushi! You made our takeaway dinner (and next day’s lunch) very special and we will definitely come back for more!

Fantastic little sushi shop. Always so fresh and yummy.
Booked for 630pm booking with lucy and noticed when we arrived there was a larger group. The venue was ok, parking was below the restaurant. It roughly worked out $35 pp + drinks/desserts. Overall was an ok experience. Would've achieved a 5 star however our chef couldn't speak English and made it hard to be engaged and entertained. The other chef from the other table kept on dropping past and talking to us ( i think he was the boss ) to try and compensate for our chefs lack of communication.
I tried their sister venue a few weeks ago, so thought I'd try them out for lunch today. Food was fresh and delicious. Staff still a little confused, however they've not long opened, so give them some time and I'm sure they'll be great. The dishes were all at the special rate of $3.80 (train) and they were busy enough to require two levels of food to be going round at the same time. Give this place a visit if you're looking for a city centre sushi train!
Best Sushi in Hobart for takeaway. Dining in could have been little more spacious. And if you are dining in, be careful with the soy sauce bottles on the table. They come with wide mouth dispensers.
So glad that they're no longer using single used plastic for soy sauce and wasabi!

This afternoon on my study break I decided to purchase some sushi from the newly renovated bank arcade entrance. I was extremely disappointed to learn that the iconic soy sauce condiment contained in the baby fish bottle was no longer offered when making transaction. This goes the same for the packeted wasabi too..
Instead, I was offered the tiniest “squirt” of wasabi, which ended in dampening the paper bag, causing it to tear..
For further frustration, I was unable to control the amount of how much wasabi and soy sauce I could put on my sushi rolls; this leading to further paper bag soaking and unwanted mess on my work desk!!
Customers should be allowed and have the right to control how much condiment/s, whether soy, wasabi and ginger to enjoy with their sushi rolls when about to consume, rather than having to interrupt customers who are sitting at the table to utilize the soy sauce bottles...
To the new alternative take away soy sauce and wasabi options, although they are plentyful; it is difficult to put on the roll, and turns out the wasabi and soy sauce are wasted when finished. As opposed to the sachet of wasabi and bottle of soy sauce, which are much more user friendly and are able to be controlled when placing on the roll..
I won’t be purchasing my sushi from here in the near future, for when it comes to condiments it becomes a frustration and hindrance..

Refused to let you choose a particular 'roll' due to their "rotation policy" Treated like an idiot as if you didn't know which roll they picked. Appalling customer service. Will never go back besides being a regular since it opened. Would rate it less if possible. Plenty of other sushi places in the immediate vicinity

Very fresh food, great range of sauces, Tonkatsu, Gyoza etc. I think the portion sizes are fairly standard, not at all small. Very busy the day we visited, plenty of friendly, helpful staff. Music is fairly ordinary, but it's a Sushi Train after all. The only complaint I have is the green tea, it was vile.
Very nice and fresh food with plenty of options to choose from. Great staff that are very helpful.
