THE BEST CRISPY PATA IN WESTERN SYDNEY!!!

I've tried crispy pata in all the famous Filo restaurants in the area and I can confidently say that Cucina de Manila makes the best crispy pata. The quality is consistent too.
Great food, we order crispy dinuguan and laing. Service was amazing, all food arrived same time.
Payment method: cash or bank transfer (no card)

Me and some mates had dinner here recently. Food was disappointing. Chicken was dry, the pork was very chewy still and the rest was just average. Better options on the other side of the station. Wouldn’t recommend the place

Great spot just off the madness of King St south… ideal for a quiet break… excellent coffee, superb carefully prepared food, friendly quality service.
I haven't been here in a little while and last time I was here I had a boodle. Returned to just have a simple meal and it was a great decision.

The food was all good. Sizzling sisig and crispy pata were all really done well. I really have to come here more often especially to try the halo halo and flan.

The garlic rice is a must everytime you come here. I could eat it with nothing and it would still be great.
Had a great lunch with family here. Although the interior isn't anything to rave about, the food was great! I wasn't expecting much but I was surprised they nailed the taste well. Even my Korean wife enjoyed it. Will come back here again.

First time visit here and it won't be the last. The food was wonderful. You must try the Spring Rolls and the Pork Bbq (Pork skewers) for entree. We had the Crispy Pasta (deed fried Pork Leg) for one of the mains, which was the most delicious pork we have ever eaten. We also had the Crispy Kata-Kare (crispy pork belly with a thick savory peanut sauce) which was also amazing. We also had the Signature Abodo (pork) with Garlic Rice, and the Pansit Guisado (thin noodles with soy sauce with chicken and vegetables) which were both delicious. For dessert we had the Leche Flan and it was wonderful and very sweet and caramelly, the waiter suggested we get just 2 servings between the 4 os us and we opted for 3 serves which were big serves, so we should have listened to him. We need a few more visits to try other things on the menu, but we will definitely order that deep fried pork leg again as it was the best thing we ate....

Took the family to breakfast here as its close by and new, good-sized portions for the price, would have preferred a long sausage rather than a square flat one, but the food was nice regardless. Service was good, was quiet when we arrived but got busier so that is good to see as a new cafe. Didn't try their Philippino food so will have to go back for that.

I come here very often, food is outstanding, and staffs are friendly. The Sisig here is to die for, if I don't have to worry about my calories count, I would visit this restaurant every day.

Really great selection of authentic Filipino food in Newtown! The service was friendly and the food came hot & fresh. We were surprised that they have regional Filipino food on their menu like Humba, and other favourites like Munggo, Pork Binagoongan and more that you don’t usually have readily available at Filipino restaurants in Sydney. And their sisig had no mayonnaise 👏🙌 As a half kapampangan/visayan this made my heart happy. Loved the food, especially the Filipino desserts. My recommendation would be to expand their weekend breakfast menu to include champorado and tsokolate batirol, which we know filos would travel to have 😍 I haven’t seen a Filipino restaurant in Sydney do this yet and I’m dying to for one (and I live in Blacktown city area which is pinoy capital). Decanso has something special going for it and we can’t wait to be back!

The food was bland and there were hair in the food
We got lechon, adobo and sausages with garlic rice. Our favourites were the garlic rice and adobo. Adobo was a little different to how a filo colleague made it but still tasty. Lechon was fatty and flavourful but some bits a bit dry.

The prices are reasonable at around $15 a plate and you get a small portion. Think of it as a tasting platter. We happily ate the 3 dishes + rice + jug of beverage between the two of us and no food waste.

My primary gripe was with the venue itself. The room is echoey and the floorboards transmit vibrations. It made for an unpleasant dining experience when you had to shout like you were at an overcrowded bar and every minor step from waiters/patrons and moving of chairs feels like an earthquake.
The kitchen was closed so only managed to try the halo halo.
I gotta say,the halo halo here is one of the bested one I have ever tried!
It’s not too sweet or too plain,a perfect amount of toping and condense milk.
And it’s only $10 for a big bowl.
Ordered the pork sisig and it taste burnt, the food was sticking to the hot plate (maybe causing it to burn) when it first arrived. Very unpleasant bitter taste all over the dish. Spoke to the staff to pass it on to the chef. Maybe just unlucky because I think the other tables were fine, but feels like the staff should be more considerate. Everything else was average.

Boodle fight experience is one for the books! we had to chose 7 dishes that were prepared in our table. I love all 7 of them! will definitely be back with more friends to try Filipino Food! (Our non filo friends love this too!) Great service too! Special thanks to Ally and group 🙌
Very suprised how flavourfull the food was! The steam rice was a little bit mushy. Will be bacl!
Biggest ripoff and such A waste of money, ive ordered sisig and lechon kawali. The sisig was so dry it seems like they scrape off the pan for some leftover. Portion is so little. I dont recommend
The first thing is noticed was just how polite and hospitable the staff were as they greeted us at the door, seated us down and got us our menus right away.

As we started to eat our food, the chicken adobo smelt exactly like the one my mate’s Filipino mother makes when we’re in the Philippines. The amount of flavour from the chicken is absolutely mouthwatering and delicious

The leche flan was absolutely delicious, every bit had a whole mouthful of flavour and made me crave more after we finished it.

I was a little saddened by the halo halo though, as it didn’t have the Ube ice cream but instead a paste that goes on top, the mixture would’ve been way better if it was to have the actual Ube ice cream mixed in instead of vanilla ice cream.

My sister and I ate here after an appointment she had. We got the Tapsilog, Longsilog and shared a Sisig.

Portions weren't too bad in relation to price.
Quality and flavours were great. The sisig could've used a little more crunch, but otherwise very tasty and couldn't really fault it.

I would definitely go back once they've reopened in Newtown.

Stumbled upon this wonderful cafe today and I’m so glad I came in!! The food was amazing, and the cafe is super cute and welcoming. They offer the usual cafe drinks/food options, but also include some delicious Filipino dishes (a relatively rare find for the area). I also had a wonderful chat with one of the owners at the end of my meal and it was exciting to hear about how their cafe came to be. I will definitely stop by again next time I’m in Sydney.

Best of luck with the move to the new location 😊

Went during a huge family celebration and had a wonderful experience ! Great food and good service. The sisig, crispy pata and kare-kare was amazing and pretty good portion too. Would love it even more if each dish came with a small bowl of rice as dishes alone were on the pricey side. Other than that, would love to come back and try other dishes. Star of the night was their puto bumbong dessert ! (Filipino purple rice-cake). Definitely a place for family and friends :)
I've had the great fortune of dining at Lazza many times in the past and it always delivers the delicious, traditional Filipino food I've been craving!

Their sisig dishes are easily the best that I've tasted throughout Filipino restaurants in Sydney, try the pork or bangus sisig! Love their kare-kare, pancit canton and grilled pork belly.

What I love about Lazza is they make a real effort to try Filipino innovative culinary dishes, such as crispy bicol express, crispy dinaguan and crispy kare-kare.

These types of dishes are hard to find in the Philippines, as well as Sydney, so it's wonderful to see this creativity that preserves the true flavours of the original dishes at Lazza.

Thank you to the friendly staff for taking care of us on our visit. Will be back again for sure!
Overall the food is good but not excellent. I haven't tried Phillipines cuisine before so I am not sure if the food here is authentic. We tried chicken aboro, fried milkfish, tamarind soup (with prawns) and all of them were okay. The Thai red tea was below average unfortunately. It was not hot enough so when I poured the milk in it quickly became cold, and it tasted so ordinary. (Milk and tea like you dip lipton black tea tea bag in boiled water and add some full cream milk, it tasted like that)
This is affordable and traditional Filipino food served in a non-pretentious place. It may be a tad small but could fit in a family of four or five with room to spare for other diners. The food is delish! I had sisig and fried tilapia. Panalo.

There are two Filipino bakeries nearby (ube pandesal and hopiang baboy!), a Filipino fastfood joint (halu-halo) and a beauty parlor (may beki na parlorista when I looked in who could very well be the owner).

Tangkilikin ang sariling atin!

Food was great value and well priced. Place was clean and service was friendly and prompt with orders. Ordering was via QR code. Meal sizes were reasonable. We shared the sisig, pork sinigang, salted egg salad, plain rice, turon and leche flan amongst 2 adults and 2 kids. Only critique was toilets. Couldn't flush toilet paper as "it could cause blockage and flooding".

Sarap!!! One of the Filo restaurants worth your travel time, effort, and money to dine-in. Their restaurant in Croydon is a good place for family and group of friends. We were just craving for their Special Puto Bumbong coz we missed out when we first saw them in the Paddys Night Market crowd. It is indeed special!
We were pleasantly surprised with the Pancit Malabon. You can taste the authenticity of the flavors of the pork, prawn and squid.
Our other orders included the lumpia shanghai, arroz caldo and halo halo which we were all happy with.

First time in Sydney, missed eating Filipino food, found Descanso! The food and coffee was so amazingly delicious! Saraaapppppp/ Yummmmm!!! They have lots to choose with: not just that, the menus are applicable to all types of generations, from kids to grandmums and granddads; plus.... you will be accommodated by great staff!!! Highly recommended 👌👌👌
the food was good, today bought 3 extra large container and the wiman serving didn't fill it up to the top. There's like half an inch less, I always buy here on a weekend the people fills them like pouring, today I was dissapointed, could have been a 5 stars.

Food was cooked to perfection, the sigig in particular was really nice. One of the best sisig i have had. Service was okay, staffs took our order then never really followed up with anything.
They also seemed quite eager/attentive to turn around the table as when we finished a dish they would quickly clear it off the table. However, they were not attentive enough to refill the water bottle when it was empty for an extended period of time.
There was also a surcharge on weekend of 5% which was quite surprising and unusual for an asian diner.

Hidden Filipino joint with delicious and authentic cuisine. Price point is a little high but service and atmosphere good. $30pp for a good meal is not horrendous but was expecting better.

Garlic rice: good but have had better. Nothing to complain about though. 7/10

Lechon kawali: superb with excellent flavour and crispiness. Sauce was a bit sweet but matched the saltiness well. Do wish it was better value for money though, 9.5/10

Kare-kare: ox tail was delicious and tender. Sauce though was not the best I've had, could be more aromatic. 8/10

Sisig: crispy, salty and peppery. Never thought liver would taste good but a little heavy and oily. 8.5/10

Good experience.

The spicy sisig was nice. It was very rich, fatty and oily which was great over rice.

The crispy pata was a bit dry but tender and worked well with the vinegar sauce.

The ginataang kalabassa was coconutty but a bit small and too salty.

The garlic fried rice was good.

This is an underrated Filipino restaurant. Their food here is seriously delicious 🤤. Their interiors are very open and homey. Their staff are very friendly. The only downside is that they don't accept cards, only cash or fund transfer to their bank account.

Try their crispy lechon paksiw which has lots of chicharon. yum! Also their beef caldereta is a must try.
I go here for their Turon and Sisig. Their Sisig is a classic for me and not overly salty. Turon isn't bag either but a bit thin for me. I tried the fried lumpia and it was just ok.

It's a convenient location to get okay Filipino food as it's near the train station.
A hidden gem in chatswood that serves delicious and authentic Filipino food. Servings are big (ordered 2 mains and a side) and couldn't finish both. Good value too. Only down point was that the lights were flickering throughout which was a little off putting. Other than that a great experience and worth exploring.

We were there on a dinner on a weekday so it is not crowded. I liked the pork Sisig, beef kere kere, garlic rice and Ube ice cream. All dishes are fantastic.
Recommended by filo friend. First time having filo food. It was really delicious and tasty. Sisig is so far my favourite. Team is very friendly and kind. Would come back and probs gonna order more vegetable this time😅
Very poor customer service and the food is not really great. It's salty actually. I will not recommend this place. I will never come back just a waste of money and time.
Definitely good Filipino food.
It's like a taste of home!

Btw they are closed on Mondays. The Google entry still mentions that they are open on Mondays (as of this writing).

Location may be slightly challenging for those with mobility challenges. I only saw a set of stairs going to the restaurant door from the curb.

If you're dining in a big group, reserving a head of time would be a good idea.

Absolute bangers of a food place, a little hidden gem in Croydon, you'd be missing out if you havent eat here.

The portions is SOOO GENEROUS, enough to feed a family of 4 with just 2 mains.

Crispy Pork is just 10/10, Kare Kare is nutty and compliments with the Rice well!!

- Pork sisig is heavenly good!
- Crispy pata is crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside.

Found this restaurant through Google search as I was craving for filo food. I'm glad we came!

Customer service was good. Ambience and atmosphere was good. They were playing happy filipino chrismassy tunes.

We ordered Lumpia Shanghai, Crispy Kare Kare, Garlic Fried Rice and for dessert we had banana-que.

I was slightly disappointed about the fatty cut on the meat in our Crispy Kare Kare, but that did not deter us from eating the dish (we just removed the fat and continued the meal). The sauce was delicious, the veggies on it was still crisp. My only wish was to have more veggies in the kare kare.

I totally loved the banana-que. The chewy caramel coating on the banana was drool worthy and made me have my happy dance while eating it.

We noticed that their best sellers were Crispy Pata and Sisig. The serving sizes looked good! That is one incentive for us to come back again one day and try their other dishes.

I've been here twice, took my partner once and my parents the next time. We've all really enjoyed the meal. Fish and pork dishes are brilliant. I also enjoyed the vegetable dish. My only feedback is that halo halo hardly had any ube ice-cream and was filled mostly with shaved ice. Other than that, everything else was delicious and would come back again.
(2.5 stars)
Lazza looks more like a nightclub than a restaurant. Icy blue rope lights cut a geometric path across the room’s decorated rafters. A cluster of Edison bulbs dangle from a beam hung over the bar, with underset lighting casting an eerie green glow onto the cement floors. It says you’re somewhere different quite loudly, even before it fills up with smiling Pinoy family groups. They’re here for boards of crispy pata kare-kare ($35) where deep-fried pork knuckle is hacked apart and shared with vegetables in soupy peanut and coconut milk sauce, suka at toyo (a sauce made from coconut vinegar and soy sauce), and a chutney-like sauce that goes well on the fairly bland meat. I prefer the Cebu-style lechon at Sydney Cebu Lechon in Newtown.

Pork sisig ($22) served on a sizzling hot plate is also a bit bland here: even a good squeeze of lemon doesn’t get this version over the line. The best version of this dish I’ve tried comes just down the road in Sydenham at Let’s Chon, though I also rated the one I tried at the hard-to-find Pamana in Chatswood. By the time I get to crispy bicol express ($22) eaten over garlic rice ($4) I’ve decided it’s the over-cooking of the pork that’s making the dishes taste off-kilter for me. In this one the too-crisp and oily pork hunks are twice-cooked in a spicy coconut and shrimp paste sauce, that again is much better handled by Sydney Cebu Lechon. We weren’t inclined to stay around to try dessert like the happy families and couples surrounding us. I suspect Lazza wins “feels like home” points for people with Filipino backgrounds that makes the sum of its parts feel greater than the actual food.

Wow! I haven't been able to travel to the Philippines since Covid but my visit to Filo Station transported me there. This place has a wonderful, friendly atmosphere, the owners and staff are welcoming and friendly. Food is authentic and delicious, cooked with traditional family recipes handed down from the owners grandmother.
I can't wait to return and try more of their menu ... highly recommended
Very noisy and the person serving near the cashier is not friendly lacking basic customer service skills. For a take away ulam their prices are way too expensive, ripping off the public.
My friend also came to this takeaway restaurant with her mother and ordered tortang talong with added special ingredient " A strand of hair". when they flagged it to the lady they replaced their tortang talong thinking its all clear, but i guess its really an added ingredient as the second serve also have a strand of hair! very bad experience. their staff should wear proper PPE for their head to avoid having hair strands being served to their customers.

This was a surprise find! We wanted to try different when we were out this direction so randomly picked this. The garlic rice is. Just try - sooooo good! Pork knuckle is really good value for money for its size and is delicious! Since then we’ve been there a couple of times and some other dishes I recommend are the Kare Kare, omelette and the jackfruit.
Spend your money elsewhere. We ordered food to be delivered and we were surprised how small the servings were. The noodles are almost $16 but they only placed in small container which is extremely pricey for the quality and quantity of food. Never again!!

Halo Halo was so nice I will definitely go back again for more. Good value for money.

Try Banana spring roll for snack. Banana wrapped in spring roll pastry, deep fried then coated with caramelised sugar.

Friendly service. All staffs greeted customer nicely. Great location being so closed to Blacktown train station.

Minimum purchase of $10 to pay by card makes it difficult to buy from them.

There are not much food left at the takeaway counter in the arvo. If I buy Halo Halo alone it costs around $8. Since I don't have cash, I can't buy.
discovered this hidden gem today.. great for those pinoys who are craving for some home cooked food. the place is comfortable with a functional ac to cool off from the blasting summer heat. the set up is a modern carenderia with lots of condiments (one pinoy trademark).

breakfast at 10 dollars. regular meal starts at 10-12 dollars. soft drinks is sold at 2 for cans and 3 of 390 ml bottles.

pinoy dessert such as halo halo is sold at 8. Turon at 2. many more options.

definitely will be coming back.

Recently, I went to the same shop for 2-3 times. the quality of food isn’t consistent as compared to the first time I came and tried the food. I took food home and noticed that the fried fish was fully soaked with cooking oil thus making it soggy. I think they can do better. Best to go early than go there when they are about to close - food not warm and the taste isn’t as good when they are freshly cooked.
Tasty food but too noisy place. They don’t consider there customers. We enjoyed the food but had headache after eating coz of loud music and the girl in the counter shouting too much she was talking to a family friends I think. We even cover our ears with our hands to make it obvious for them but NO effect🤣. I will still order but just take away. No more dine in for us.

Delicious Filipino food comes with huge portion. affordable price and friendly customer service. Arrangement of the shop is moderate and suitable for friends and family gathering. Need to concentrate on serving time cause it took a while to serve our food. Would love to recommend to others and like to revisit soon.
I was waiting for my appointment. I came early thinking I would be able to get a Philippine breakfast, having heard that Blacktown has a couple of eateries serving the local palette.
I loved my arrows caldo, exactly how I wanted it cooked garnished with fried garlic.

I came back for lunch after finishing my appointment and had take away of 'pakbet, and guinataan with steam rice.
The boneless bangus
tasted very well with fried eggs on garlic rice, cucumber and tomato on the side.
I was very happy that my expectation was met higher than I thought. There was the ambience, clean, cosy atmosphere
I'll be coming back with my sister very soon.
I also ventured at the bakery nearby and bought pan de sal, pandan- cheese buns and rice cakes.
I like the store and the staff who served me. She knows how to sell the business and is definitely an asset to the firm.

This was terrible, over the top greasy lacking flavor, we have had filo meals before from other places and thought to try here. It was not palatable, felt sick after eating it waste of money and highly do NOT recommend, tastes like grease nothing else. Had dinner here on a Saturday night with my friends. We came it past 8 PM (they close at 9 PM). The lady at the cashier wasn't thrilled to see us but the lady who took our order was nice and jolly. That and the great food are the reasons I still rated this place 5 stars. Will definitely come back and bring some more friends here.
Located just outside of Mt Druiit Westfield’s, I’m not sure what I ate but these 2 pork dishes was yum! Spring roll was nice too but this glazed spring roll with jackfruit in it,super yum! I enjoyed everything I had. I just found it a little more expensive than I expected
We were introduced to this place by a phillo friend of ours, food is reasonably priced and very yummy and tasty foods to eat, the prices are very good for the area.

Not to expensive and the drinks are very good as well $2 a can is better than most stores in the area.

We will go back and eat here again, we love this place and my son loves the food as well
