If you love sunset view and plane take off this is must go place😍
As planespotter, I recommended this viewing area, although there could be a few improvements for example the lack of public toilets, drinks fountains and adequate shade. Also I would like to add that currently the rocks are a hazard to everybody (particularly young children and the elderly) , as personally I have slipped many times on them before. The trees about 100 metres from the platform are blocking the view of aircraft taking off and landing, these could be trimmed so that people at the viewing area can see the planes where they are currently out of view.
Are you or your kids airplane lovers then The Perth airport viewing point is really a great option to get an awesome view of flight landing and take off.
The flight landing 🛬 view is good and very close to the view point. The flight take off 🛫view too is good but not so close to the viewing area because few flights 🛫 take off soon before reaching the viewing area.
The place is set in a very beautiful way. The viewing area is set in a very simple way and in a ramp style. There are few seating arrangements. But on sunny days it's very hot. It's good to bring water and hats.
It's good to check the flight times before planning a trip to the viewing area.
There are no toilet facilities available.
Entry is free but there is timing
April- September-7:30am to 5:30pm
October - March-6:30am to 7:00pm
Parking is available
Calm place to relax mind after works in the evening while looking the scenery.
absolutely beautiful, peaceful so elegant just looking like a wow
It’s a good place to spot, one of my favourites around the state, although there should be some toilets, water fountains and complete views of the other side of the runway as well as the other runway by extending or building another higher level
Point Ormond Lookout is a great place for some amazing views of the city across the water. Especially spectacular at sunset, as the setting sunlight reflects off the buildings. Great views of the beaches too. A good space to stretch your legs or have a picnic. The perfect spot on a fine evening.

A good place for walking and cycling, the effect will be better in the evening. There is a sloping grassland suitable for children to run. Facing the sea, you can see the high-rise buildings of the City from a distance. The scenery is good!

Great view. We had a bbq here and it was really a lovely place to hang with children. Play area is amazing and the lookout point is nice.
Fantastic place to watch aircraft come and go. Be aware, no shade or rest rooms here. Free parking available.
Very Quite and relaxing place to sit and rejuvenate yourself.

Best spot in town that you can capture the whole Canberra in one picture. Strongly recommended to take a Uber or taxi if not driving, because the footpath is kind of tricky to walk from City.

Nice viewpoint out over the lake. Can see a good distance in all directions. Can get a bit windy(chilly) up there.
Wonderful views of the capital city and surrounding areas. You can see all the main landmarks from up here, including a great view from behind the War Memorial all the way down ANZAC Parade to Old Parliament House and the stunning architecture of Parliament House rising behind it.

The only disappointment was the absence of public toilets at such an iconic public place when we were there with a bus full of school students. That’s an oversight that local government needs to address,
Free parking and entry
Needs to follow the timing and warnings as mentioned in the picture below , varies according to season
Ideal for waiting for pick up while watching the airport take offs
Soooo good!!!! Best destination in Mel so far, make sure you bring food and beer with you and some mat, can be crowded during sunset, you can go around 6-730 pm very goooood sunset spot, so romantic!!

Good for watching planes land and take off. There is a parking right there. Not busy. No shelter. Walking path to nearby lookouts and playground.

Went with family of 4 (young kids). We came via the Rocks so had to navigate thru stairs and lift to reach the harbour sidewalk. I think it's the best way rather than following google map direction of coming via Milson point.

Once there, amazing to learn the history of the construction of Sydney Harbour Bridge and the amazing views of the harbour and city.

Actual location doesn't have pram store away so we just left tuck it away at the corner of the bridge.

Good few hours of hours spent in the afternoon. Worth the entrance fee with kids.

Amazing lookout place where you can view the whole city and ocean. You also can walk to st Kilda by 25mins and the walking trail is lovely.
We also found a seal!

Point Ormond lookout

——

Beautiful sea near Melbourne which is st. Kilda, very easy to travel, can be reached by tram and bus, only 30 minutes from the city, when you arrive you will find an amusement park, a beach.

Most people like to watch the sunset and take a picnic here. By sitting and watching the sun at Point Ormond Lookout This is a small hill that we can see the city as well. The clear water and the sky stretch as far as the eyes. Around the beach, there is a way for running, exercising and cycling. There is a garden and playground as well.

One of my favourite lookouts anywhere. It is slightly amusing, though, that there is a big plaque commemorating the opening of the northbound carriageway here at a rest area on the southbound carriageway. Perhaps that's a reflection on the shortage of rest areas which were built on the northbound carriageway.
The Mount Ainslie Lookout in Canberra is simply fantastic! The view is breathtaking, and the best part is how quick and easy it is to get there. Whether you're a local or a visitor, the panoramic scenes make the journey entirely worth it. Five stars for an outstanding lookout that combines accessibility with a spectacular view!
Great views of Canberra city and its surrounding areas. No public transport accessibility to this location. Carry your own water and food as needed. Resting area and water fillers available.

Very nice view at this lookout! There was a food/coffee truck but very pricy compare to other coffee van. I guess if you are desperate , then at least there is an option 😅
This is literally one of the best spots to view the sunset and sunrise along with the city night lights. We spent about 30 to 60 minutes here watching the sun set and admiring the night lights. It was surprisingly not as cold as expected. I'd arrive there at least an hour before because there are a lot of people and not much parking however, there is also street parking near Point Ormond playground, a lot of traffic too but it's well worth it!

A very good value attraction in Sydney. The views are amazing, not just of the bridge but the whole harbour. Its the perfect option if you either don't want to pay out for, or are too scared for the bridge climb. You can see the climbers from the lookout.
The museum on the way out is very interesting. The only slight negative was the lighting is quite low so it was difficult to read some of the labels.
Great experience though. Thank you.

It is a really good chance to see the sunset to this point.
Good for reading, calming...

This is one of the highlights of our Canberra visit.
We went after sunset, thinking we might miss the best sunset, but the night view was mesmerising as well.

This is one of the getaway places where you want to sit down, relax, and enjoy the view.
I could imagine the view during air balloning season or any air show.

I think the weather was kind with us :).

It was clear sky with excellent visibility that made our day.

Have a good time all.

We visited this place and enjoyed the night view of Canberra city. There is ample parking and a short walk down two short flights of steps to the lookout point. It was windy and pretty cold in late September when we visited.
Best spot to view 03 landings (mainly from 1pm onwards as sun will start to be behind you). Also good for runway 21 take-offs. Would be nice if this spot had other facilities though, and another spotting location other than T1 viewing deck would be awesome 👍
It’s a great place to come and spend some time. Either waiting for FIFO flights, interstate, international or just to spend time. It’s become a busy spot for all ages and abilities to enjoy aeroplanes. My daughter is in a wheelchair and is able to self propel her self up the ramp. If you have a power assist or a powered chair it does make it easier. No toilets. No fountains so bring water. You can BYO a picnic or snacks. You can BYO your chair as there is limited seating available.

Another great place to visit if you love planes and are mobility challenged is Jandakot Airport. Get some smaller aircraft out there. Picnic tables, fountain and toilets on site. Very wheelchair friendly. BYO water and picnic/snacks. There is a cafe but it’s been closed of late.
Nice setup and good for kids to see (and hear) the airplanes. A well designed ramp with some corner sitting spots.
The elevator is behind Cafe Gigi. Unless you know about it, you won't know that it heads up to amazing views across Circular Quay and Harbour Bridge. Highly recommend going up here as the sun is setting so you get the contrast between day and night. Around New Years 2022, they closed this stretch of motorway and converted it into a concert space. Tickets to this were free - bonus! Was seriously cool! Glad I got the chance to experience this.
Amazing Evening view. Can have good and pleasant time here.

Great views along the coast, as well as a birds-eye view of the tree ferns, toilets were clean. Depending on the season there’s a high chance of picking up some local bananas from one of the road side stalls up the range. Overall a good place for a pit stop if you’re road-tripping.

Circular quay has lots of food options by the quay and by the walk along the bay.

Beautiful views of the Sydney harbour bridge, ships, skyline.
Could definitely use a toilet block and water fountain, but it's a great spot for planespotting and good for kids.

The plane chart is very faded now. Could use a makeover.
It took me about ten minutes to enjoy the view around the lake, yet I spent more than twenty minutes driving to the lake and another twenty driving back home. I just feel it’s not very worthy.
Must visit place if you're in Coffs Harbour. Can have a nice look over the city an beaches. A beautiful place to spend some quality time on a good sunny day. Best time to go is in the afternoon. Could see a beautiful entire city. Overall it is very beautiful lookout point. I highly recommend a visit.
Nice place to if you like to see planes up closer, nice viewing area
That's one of my post lunch walk routes. I really enjoy the soothing atmosphere and stunning Circular Quay views of our beautiful city, Sydney.

Recommend to buy a ticket and you can get a better view from here. The space is pretty tiny and I don’t like the glasses that is all around. Ticket price is reasonable if you’re not afraid of height, you can try another tour that can climb on the bridge which seems very cool.

Much cheaper than the full bridge climb. Also, it's obviously much less strenuous and doesn't take 3 hours to complete. The 360 degree panoramic views are almost as good as the height difference negligible.
Great place to watch planes take off and land
Limited parking. So plan. Best time to visit is during sunset
Get a good camera to catch a good flight (on camera of course)

Nice sunset spot! But will be better if they provide chairs or something. They don't even give pedestrian a space to walk to the top. I feel like only people with cars get to enjoy this place
Good place for Calm& Relax if you truly love nature
Good for kids because you have to go through Bundoora farm
Many activities for kids
Many farm animals to see to touch for kids
Good small explore area for kids to see farm animal
Lookout I would say best. When you need that calming environment. Come and feel the nature vibes.
From City got tram service. But after that have to walk.
By car it’s very good. You can access small loop for lookout.
Not accessible for wheelchair. Due to height. If someone wants to see then they have come by car and theist are few spots for parking at lookout.
Amenity are available as soon you comes up into the Bundoora park.

If you want to view Sydney Harbour from the bridge this is a great spot. Cheaper than the bridge walk but also not cheap for the family. There are some history photos and info and a video playing at the top but it feels lame and could be alot better.
Very great setup here by Perth Airport for AvGeeks to catch action departing Runway 21 or Arrivals for Runway 03. Best to check Flightradar24 and the Perth Airport’s website for the live arrival and departures.

Just note that it can be quite windy and cold and not much shelter for sun.

Lots of stairs to access the pylon lookout but well worth it for the amazing view. On a clear day there are beautiful views all the way to the ocean, circular quay and darling harbour and the west. It was a little more expensive than we thought it would be at $25 for an adult, $16 for a concession. There are toilets available half way up. The video history at the end has captions which is great.

Great vantage point for a view of the harbour area. During vivid 2023 drone shows, patiently arriving 40 minutes early paid off after seeing the shoulder to shoulder crowds below. During non drone moments it's not busy at all and an elevator helps too.

Amazing views worth a stop off if you are coming through and stopping at the big banana. The bridge is a little wobbly and not for those scared of heights as you are as high as the tree tops here!!! Also there's a tree top climbing challenge here for those who are physically fit. Also cafe up top too.

Great views over the city and the bay. The museum is small but informative and includes a good mix of reading material, videos, models etc. Staff are friendly. There is a small gift shop with restrooms. In my experience there is no need to book-- on a Saturday morning in May I had the museum and lookout almost to myself.

An opportune rest area where you can get an impression of the vastness of lake George.
On a clear day you will be able to view the wind turbines in the distance.
Be aware: the highway onramp heading toward Canberra is only short and is also uphill so be prepared to accelerate quickly as you leave the carpark.
A relaxing local retreat! Somewhere that you can walk into from Bundoora Park or north side the mount via Mount Cooper Drive, or simply drive via Bundoora Park and enjoy the sun in the middle of the day. Have a breeze of fresh winds. Or you may watch the stunning Melbourne’s sunsets 🌇 from its little car park. I just wished those powerlines weren’t there 😊
Great place to see planes taking off. However the setup really could do with a refresh. Unable to read the information boards, they are badly faded. I would also be helpful if you could access information about what times the planes are taking off, or general indication to best times and days would be good

There is one bbq table, smells bad( the smell of bird droppings on the table)but still nice place.
Nice view point, especially before sunset.
This is a good stop on the way from Canberra to Sydney.
Amazing place to watch the planes taking off along the shores, with free parking
This is the highest natural point in metropolitan Melbourne and located in Mount cooper. You can have the acess through Bundoora park. While you reaching here you may spot kangaroos, ostrichs. You can walk here or take your vehicle. It is a 15-20 min walk from Bundoora park. The only matter is bugs. The view is amazing.

Please cut the grass. Spent a bro-mantic evening here. Grass was knee high. Great place to watch the sunset. Lots of tall weeds. Lots of people here on new year's eve. I nearly lost my dog amongst the grass.
Ein sehr schöner Weg mit atemberaubenden Ausblick auf die Sydney Oper und die Skyline. Man gelangt per Aufzug nach oben und kann dann entspannt bis auf die Harbour Bridge laufen. Eine Empfehlung.

Actually, it's a nice clean lookout. A few of the lookouts in the ACT are very untidy, but this one (just over the border in NSW) was fantastic. Lovely view over Lake George. You can do a short drive down to the Lake George rest area (directly below the lookout) where there are also BBQ and toilet facilities.

Just a quick place to rest but the view is amazing as you overlook the massive lake George. Definitely worth a quick stop to stretch your legs. If you lucky enough you will see rabbits and lizards.
Great views of aircraft landing and taking off on runway 03. Needs toilets and more shade. Improvements to gardens recently done with huge orange rocks which kids throw everywhere. Dangerous so close to runways.
If you love trains going over a high bridge this the place for you but beware of women with dogs.
You can get a good view here, overlooking the river, the bridge and a chance of seeing the all the aircraft fly overhead to the nearby airport. There are some nearby benhes and you can get close-ish to the train tracks, but it's blocked off by a fence.

Hot day, know that this is a well kept secret beach between Port Botany and opposite Sydney Airport runways.
Small carpark, warning signs posted for possible sewage runoff but the water and beach looked very clean and there was no oudor to alarm us.
Shallow water not really possible to actually swim, more about the beach.
Another great spot to view planes from, from the northern side of the runway if the planes are mainly taking off on that side.

Also fairly close to the port terminal structures too.
Nice little hidden gem that very few people seem to know about! If you love planes, you'll love this place. Not sure how clean the water is ...

If you come during a weekday you'll probably have the place to yourself!
It was a hot day and I was the only one here. Not much shade but I did enjoy the view.
Beautiful spot on the trail looking over the gully. Nice to stop there at night to see the viaduct and EJ Whitten bridge.
