Mild water damage and the heat is turned off.
The Fortress of Louisbourg is a huge, educational and fun place to visit. We spent a few hours here, and ate at the restaurant. There was so much to see, the layout was easy to follow with the map. There were knowledgable staff ready and eager to help educate all over the Fortress, with some dressed in costumes.
There are bathrooms and places to sit. And also some shops with some beautiful Mi'kmaq art and handmade items.

Beautiful place for a meeting. Didn't get a chance to eat there (missed the cut off for catering order) but they offered tea, coffee and water. We were a large group at a large circular table in a rather large room. The AV was great but you could hold a conversation without it if you wanted. It's historical and classy. Service was great. Super clean and well kept. While we missed the catering window, there are a lot of food choices in the area. Restaurants and cafes. Most are a short drive away or 8-10 minute walk. Loved it!
Is ship still sunken or pulled up yet.

One of my favorite places on my entire trip so Quebec city. So rich in history.
Wow, what a great experience. Must visit if you like history: there are so much going on there. We visited fortress at peak season early in the morning and spent about 5 hours there. It felt like we were back in time. At the visitor center we got a site map and activities schedule and than took a shuttle to the fortress.
The fortress is a massive complex with lots of history and unique decorations . So much to see there.
We had lunch at their restaurant that made us feel like we were back in 18th century :the decor, food, metal plates and silverware. We visited at peak season and it was very crowded there: we went to the restaurant at their open hour( I believe 11am) and were the only customers. By the time we finished lunch, there was a huge crowd waiting to be seated.
Fortress of Louisbourg was a highlight of our visit to Cape Bretton! Highly recommend.

So lively and unique. Place Royale is the spot where, in 1608, Samuel de Champlain built what became the first permanent French settlement in North America. It’s still an amazing meeting point for cultural activities, it’s definitely worth a visit when in town. I was there right before Halloween and there was a band playing, all kids were in costume, very beautiful to watch!
Great tour. Very friendly and informative.

Place Royale in Old Quebec is an absolute treasure for history buffs and anyone looking to immerse themselves in the rich heritage of this beautiful city. The cobblestone square, surrounded by centuries-old buildings, exudes an unmistakable charm that instantly transports you back in time.

The centerpiece of the square is the stunning Église Notre-Dame-des-Victoires, a picturesque church that stands as a testament to the city's enduring legacy. Exploring the intricate details of the church's facade is a must.

Wandering around Place Royale, you'll find boutique shops, art galleries, and quaint cafes that offer a delightful blend of contemporary and historic ambiance. Sampling local treats and crafts while taking in the views is a highlight of any visit.

The nearby Musée de la Place Royale provides a deeper dive into the area's history, with engaging exhibits and insights into the lives of those who once called this place home.

Overall, Place Royale is a place where history comes alive, and every corner tells a story. It's a must-visit destination that captures the essence of Old Quebec, and I can't recommend it enough

The scenery is great. Only road side parking is available

Sehr romantischer Stadtteil von Quebec. Man kann hier überall gut essen und schöne Urlaubsmitbringsel shoppen. Alles sehr sauber und gepflegt.
Thought it was very nice. Very clean. But this is the same Government that lie cheat and control innocent people! And I'm not stating how I feel personally without facts to back it. This is the truth. So I was only there to get a good loom at where I should seek shelter in case another zombie/covid-19 happens. That way there I know I'll be safe!!!!

Wonderful scenic place. Rocky and clear water with native trees. No place like this on earth. You will be amazed and refreshed. The blue heron boat was fun had some ship wreckage.
Beautiful place to visit on a glass bottom ferry. You would love the transparent water and the shipwreck that they show on the way. Experience is fantastic, especially the water color. Visit along with family and enjoy.
I trekked up there and it's like being in the presence of history. The lighthouse has been standing strong since 1897, a beacon for passing ships. It's a charming sight - white and wooden, tall and dignified. The best part? The view from near the lighthouse. Looking out over the island and the stunning blue-green waters of Georgian Bay is nothing short of a visual feast. You feel the tranquil vibe of the place, resonating with the echoes of its past. It's a sight to behold, especially when the hues of the sunset dance across the sky. Even though you can't go inside, it's still worth the visit. It's truly delivers a nice view of the Lake Huron!

Great opportunity through Open Doors Ontario to see this historical place.
Very friendly staff.
The captain wired in he had water comin' in
And the good ship and crew was in peril
And later that night when his lights went outta sight
Came the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald
The Flowerpot Island Lighthouse is a fascinating and historic attraction that is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area. The lighthouse itself is a beautiful and well-preserved example of Canadian maritime history, and its location on top of Flowerpot Island provides visitors with stunning views of the surrounding waters and landscape.

The lighthouse's construction in 1897 was a response to the increasing shipping traffic in the Georgian Bay and the need to guide ships safely through the area's rocky waters. The tower's design, which is made of brick and stone, is both practical and aesthetically pleasing, and its original Fresnel lens is a testament to the ingenuity and innovation of the lighthouse's designers.

One of the best things about visiting the Flowerpot Island Lighthouse is the guided tour, which provides visitors with a wealth of information about the lighthouse's history and operation. The tour includes a climb to the top of the tower, where visitors can see the lighthouse's original Fresnel lens up close and take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

In addition to its historical significance, the Flowerpot Island Lighthouse is also a popular destination for hikers and nature enthusiasts. The island's hiking trails offer a range of scenic and picturesque views, and the island's unique flowerpot rock formations are a must-see attraction.

Overall, the Flowerpot Island Lighthouse is a fascinating and unique attraction that combines history, architecture, and natural beauty into a single destination. Whether you're a history buff, a nature lover, or just looking for a beautiful place to visit, the Flowerpot Island Lighthouse is definitely worth adding to your itinerary.
Let’s fix this post to reflect the correct name of the ship. It’s the Edmund Fitzgerald.

The location data is interesting even if it’s not a place you can visit.

This beautiful building is rich with history, which just enhances its significance!! The beautiful architecture and fine detailing can be found throughout the building and are complimented by the exceptional art (both its own collection and pieces from the provincial gallery).
"Does anyone know where the love of God goes when the waves turn the minutes to hours?"

It's been 47 years since her sinking. RIP to all 29 brave men that went down with her. You will never be forgotten.
A lovely setting for any crew /couples planning a summer or fall riverfront stroll. There are several benches along the walkway that leads to the lighthouse where visitors can relax and enjoy the breathtaking views of ships travelling along the sea.A wonderful way to appreciate the outdoors during the day or at night with the full moon

A unique, historical and beautiful location in the heart of Toronto. Features include an architecturally significant building dating back to 1829 and beautiful and tranquil gardens with several areas to sit and take in the surroundings. Large wrought iron fences surround the area and cobblestone drives are a wonderful feature. Large trees offer shade and one would not feel as though they are in the heart of a large metropolitan city.

Very nice monument
It amazes me there is so much history behind this lighthouse
One of the most beautiful lighthouses in the world... but it needs to be REACTIVATED! Petition the township to turn the lighthouse (and other lighthouses and beacons on the island) back on!

This used to be a staple of every Chi Chi Maun boat ride (to see the flash of the rotating light in the lighthouse). Now they shut it off and it has lost the very essence of what it is. What a shame.
Very great landscape, you can feel the natural power from the flowerpots and the caves. The water is so clear and perfect temperature to stay in the water at summer time. The tail is actually very suitable for young kids burn energy, not easy but very fun. 2.5 hours between the cruise is the minimum…..

Amazing spot for a sunset. I’m talking next level views here. Would highly suggest taking a trip here or in the evening for some sight seeing. Pro-tip: bring warm clothes, as the wind can get chilly, even in the height of summer.
The Heritage Lighthouse is at the tip of the Island and there is a trail leading up to it. Some of the hikers we met said they saw snakes and that we should stay on the trail.

I did see a harmless garter snake cross my path.

The museum was closed but there were benches by the beach and you could just gaze into infinity into the clear waters and watch the cruise ships arriving on the island.

Reminder, Tobermory is busy during the summer months so try to go off-peak season (June) and during the week.
Former lieutenant governors residence in Alberta. Today a beautiful grounds over looking the river valley. The former Royal Slberta .useum is there too. Beautiful spot to sit and enjoy a quiet moment. I hope they are able to preserve the site. Also lovely for wedding photos. If you visit Edmonton I recommend a walk around here. In the historic Glenora neighborhood.
Beautiful lighthouse! Make sure to snap a shot when you're passing by on the Chi Chee-maun.
Beauty of a spot. The shore is quite rocky. It doesn't start to even out until you go over by the ATV trails. But it's a nice spot

This is a great opportunity for taking some pictures while going from Tobermory to Manitoulin, especially when the sky is clear.
Interestingly, I have sailed on an Inland Steel ore boat over the same spot many times during 1962 and sometimes in nasty weather, tho certainly not what the Fitz endured. The old hands (I was a college sophomore) said it was one of the worst places too be in a storm since the Northwest waves reflected off both the Canadian and the Michigan Upper Peninsula sides simultaneously and the reflected waves focal point, combined with the following NW waves, was exactly where the Fitz sank.

Impressive sandstone mansion built in 1913. It served as the residence for the lieutenant governor for 25 years. In 1966 it was established as a centre for important state functions. This is a wonderful building. I would recommend coming here. To enjoy its beautiful setting and the other buildings and art installations.
Don't forget take a look this beautiful lighthouse on Ms Chi Cheemaun Ferry

I can't believe I passed by this beautiful place and never realized what it held inside! This building has a gorgeous library and it's full of paintings of past treasurers, each with their own unique touches! There's a dining hall thats been used for over a hundred years with short little seats because people were tinier back then. Come in for a treasure trove of Canadian law history :)

Still a beautiful spot. Got married there 3 years ago, and they have someone that will take care of the grounds for special occasions. Looks like a fresh coat of paint was applied recently. If you're lucky, seals might even come say hi.

Another great place to visit during the summer with our kids. There is plenty of green space for the. To run around, as well as educational things to peak their interest and public art that we all appreciate.
We have yet to take the free tour inside the building as we are waiting for our youngest to be just a little bit older.
The architecture of this building is amazing from the outside and I can only assume that the inside is just as good, if not better.
Beautiful and peaceful place. It's almost 1 hr trail there as well. But we couldn't see the caves as it was under construction. There are 2 flowerpot kind of thing, one is small than other. The island also has snakes and lot of squirrel.

Very beautiful from the outside! The trees are absolutely lovely and the old design and floors were a sight to behold. One of the cooler architecture pieces of Toronto as it was designed more than 100 years ago! Definitely a treat to have explored it during doors open Toronto, as it was a great cultural experience and a fun one too! Definitely recommend!

Really interesting building to look inside of. It's the home to the law society and has a couple of really old artifacts from when the society was founded. There is a law library full of reference books to cases, but it is a public space, so anyone can go there during office hours to work in the library. It's a very beautiful space.
The only female statue on the grounds of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario in Queen's Park. Queen's Park is named after her. She reigned over Canada from 1837 to 1901.
This statue on the grounds of Queens Park was designed by Italian sculptor Mario Raggi (1821–1907). It was commissioned in 1870, installed in September 1902, and unveiled May 27, 1903. It is bronze, on stone pedestal with bronze reliefs by J. L. Banks.
