Nice place. You can sell the sulfur from far away.
Lots of information about the history of the hot springs and the town.
If you get the National park pass, don’t forget to bring it with you, so you don’t need to pay for the ticket.
This place is so amazing! The smell is still in my nose. It's worth every penny. The trails around are amazing as well. The views are stunning. All the staff was great, friendly and informative.

Really glad to see Barrie built a very expensive place for people to use and buy drugs.
We did not go into the historic site. We were keen to explore the area outdoors. The Roam bus (Yellow route 4) was efficient transport from our hotel to the Cave and Basin bus stop, right outside the information building at the car park. It was an uphill walk to the historic site and the start of the Marsh boardwalk - our intended walk. We had read that the warm spring water makes the plant and animal life in this area unique. We didn't see any birds (even from the bird hide) or aquatic life, but did see the white and green algae and a little squirrel posing on a fence! It was a pleasant walk. The path was well maintained and clearly signposted, with informative boards along the way. There were 4 trails of differing lengths which would be great to explore if time allowed.

Was one of the best; sadly was taken down and no future: how do u go from giving birth and life to being lifeless???
The cave was interesting but be warned, it's a sulphur hot spring, so there's a smell. Kind of pales in comparison to the other spectacular sights but could be good to pop in if you're looking for more things to do in the area.

Nice place to walk along the water. Has a public parking area and a boat launch at one end, park for the kids at the other.
The history of this place is really what brings people to it. I enjoyed visiting the birthplace of the National Parks System and all National Parks across Canada.

However the space itself lacks character and even the exhibits are a little lackluster.

The cave was beautiful and it is interesting to learn about the endangered snail. However, no one will warn you about the overbearing concentrated smell of sulfur when you enter the cave, so please prepare yourself!
Nice place to know the history. On the way out, exited from the back to climb up to see the opening of the cave. It was nice easy hike and worth it. Also hiked the trail towards the swamp and bird blind. Entry is free if you have annual National park pass. Saw elk grazing while walking out of the park.
Pretty cool place to visit. I walked from town, maybe 3/4 mile but you can drive there and I believe there are also shuttles.
I enjoyed learning the history of the area, from how the spring was first found by two brothers to how the area was a huge pool the locals used regularly at one time.
The spring itself in the "Cave" Is pretty cool. It emits a strong sulfur smell but I would still recommend checking it out.
21 years ago, I was born here❤️

Barrie was hosting movie night under the stars! Weather was perfect for it, not too cold and barely any wind.
Great place. The parking costs 20 bucks. Lots of availability though. The history of the swimming pool was pretty awesome. If you don’t like the smell of sulfur I would not recommend going to see the cave. Pretty nasty smells. The snails were super cool! Would be really cool to swim in that huge pool back in the day. Oh and don’t forget to take a photo in the Photo Booth 😀
Great lighthouse in a place where I least expected to find one! The structure is not very impressive but this is compensated by its proximity to Niagara-On-The-Lake. The locals mentioned that the water is very polluted so we did not go into the water. This lighthouse is very ESG compliant because it is fully powered by the sun and wind. The place is very small so it is easy to miss if you drive too fast.

I'm torn on this place... As much as I love the layout and potential, it isn't a safe environment. From drug paraphernalia being left all over, to vomit in the pathways, to fights breaking out, and absolutely no security to be seen ... I only go when there's a specific event and leave asap. I give the facility more stars but I give the safety and comfort factor less.... So it averages to 3 stars.

A really nice open area for local events. I seen an outdoor movie there and it was really nice. Preferably there was additional places for seating.
I like it here better than the dam you get at the end. Bike, hike, or blade to get here, no cars except for service cars. Beautiful area for picnics. Lots of bicycle trails nearby.
No hay mucho que ver, pero es un buen lugar para descansar e ir al baño para después seguir con tu camino

Gem of a place in Downtown Barrie. Beautiful views of the lake, great meeting place, and venue for concerts in warmer weather and hosts Winterfest in February.

Relax midway view stop with chairs, exit from the paved Seymour Valley trail via downhill Hydraulic trail or uphill connector from Spur4 trail. I'd biked.

A Nice place to meet new friends who do Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Reggaeton which is a FREE Event by the local Latin Dance Community (Tipping the DJ would be a nice gesture nice but not mandatory) called Salsa Social-Barrie and other types of dancing outdoors - (note: concrete floor) with a roof over your head to protect you from light rain.

Nice pedestrian square in the middle of downtown. Various cultural events, concerts and meetings are held here. From the square is a view of Lake Simcoe. It is part of Dunlop Street, where are many restaurants, bistros and cafes. The entire square is reconstructed and renovated.

Rating one star because i don’t want anyone else to find out about this spot
Interesting little plaque. Describing across the highway where history is trespassing.
Esperando que la fuerza del arcoíris nos salve la vida Sergey and power Fenix
I am a lighthouse junky, this was a nice spot for a view across the water, if you look close you can see Toronto, would have loved to be able to see the lighthouse a little better but we didn't venture into the marina.
Very nice
Always nice to walk along the river and who doesn't like the sound of a 'waterfall'? Just bring bug spray as there are a lot of them!
I only found a plaque. Pull off set Well off the highway, so your vehicle is safe from highway traffic.
This is a beautiful place for a stop, lots of space to spread out, picnic, throw a disc around, work on your bike, etc. Access is either from above by coming down from the demo forest road just after the Hydraulic Creek bridge (~7km), or up from Fisherman’s Trail. No running water (except from nearby streams), but one of the cleanest outhouses I’ve ever seen. There is also a large covered area which is a great shelter from the elements.

Great!
A lovely historical space in the heart of Barrie’s downtown core that pays homage to our fallen veterans and supports our military heritage. The large multi use gathering space accommodates large events, plays, activities and concerts. Just steps away from restaurants, shops and cafes as well as a spectacular view of the lake and walking paths that wind along the bay.

Smoked my first joint under this bridge. I was 13 and my best friend at the time, and I, walked from my house on 15a street in Inglewood to this very bridge in 1987. We were so paranoid, that we climbed up, and into, the iron frame to smoke it.....constantly on the look-out for passers-by. Good times.

What a great outdoor venue that is totally accessible to everyone. There is lots of seating on built in benches or bring your own chair. The sound is not bad either. The setting with the water in the background is beautiful.
Beggars in the parking lot.

Wheelchair / mobility impaired accessible with public washrooms located south in Heritage Park. Please do not climb on structure.

Located at Memorial Square, Meridian Place in the heart of downtown Barrie and adjacent to Heritage waterfront park. Barrie’s Cenotaph at Memorial Square was dedicated on June 28, 1922 and subsequently moved approximately 90 feet from its former site in the summer of 2017 as part of the Memorial Square / Meridian Place reconstruction project completed in 2018. The former location was more appropriate when the Post Office / Customs & Excise Building (demolished 1958) was located here at the property, which included Fred Grant Square (and street) which allowed access to the former Barrie train station.

Cenotaph commemorating the fallen service enlisted of Great War (World War One) is dated 1919, the official peace treaty signing rather than 1918, when the armistice agreement was signed. Constructed of granite, 10 square foot base, 23 feet high with a 9 foot statue. Two additional installations added to commemorate enlisted Korean and World War 2.

I enjoyed this area back before they started doing the construction on it I have pictures but it's not on my phone it's on my backup Drive at home but I did enjoy sitting by the flowers there and watching the lake and working on my coloring out the time I hope they'll be finish the construction soon so that way I can enjoy the area again.
Informative historical plaque. Not a public rest area though, so no amenities.
