Love this place!! Great bread, frozen treats and desert's
Love, love, love this place. Been a customer here for over 30 years. They carry some of the best organic meats and produce. Their selection of grains, spices and snacks are commendable. Never disappointed.
Floral department is always very nice. Produce always seems very fresh
I think this was my second time going to the STC. I mostly ventured into the newest stores in the mall. I didn't know it had an Ikea ( smaller version than the ones I frequent). I was actually surprised to see Mango there was as well. It has Forever 21, Wal-Mart, movie threatre, McDonald's, Cinnabon, and Baskin-Robbins, to name a few, which makes this mall a more of a one-stop mall. Outside the mall has a few popular restaurants. LCBO, Superstore,and Bestbuy are a few other stores that are a "stone throw" away.
Awesome employees, very good prices, frequent specials on clothing, clean store, managers are cool ( shelly esp)and very helpful, food dept has a good variety, i shop there every week now.

I'm sure this place is run by a bunch of junkies with their pricing....fresh fruit veg and meat are all good but you're gonna have to pay with your first born child!!!
Great local store if you're out of ethnic ingredients; they have a decent variety.
Since finding this place I am really saving on my grocery bill. Only draw back is you might buy something you like and next time they wont carry it.

There, for some sale items, they have some of the best meat, expressly when it's on sale. It's worth the trip to Metro, very clean store.
For 6 years, Apple Farm has been a staple for my everyday grocery shopping. They always have the best produce, by far, and they have all the necessities at great prices. The folks who work at Apple are absolute gems as well.

Often times items are expired and staff is pretty rude. They have also started checking receipts of random people, not myself but clearly targeted people online. Saw someone yell at a woman for not scanning all her items in her cart, before paying. She clearly had two separate transactions as all the item

Famous Foods is THE BEST FOOD STORE EVER. Organic bulk everything, foods from Europe and South America, grass-fed meats, 20 different kinds of honey...It is a treasure trove. I could easily spend half my day and all my money there.
On Oct 6 at 2:10pm: The old lady at Cheese Section who was going to be on vacation for two weeks had no intention to help the guest while she was still on the clock. She merely ignored the guest’s inquiry and walked to Deli Section to chitchat with other staff.
Check expiry date on things, they don’t care and they will sell you anything at any condition and will even challenge you it’s fine. Special attention orange juice
Groceries are quite good. Meats come from Quebec. I prefer to biuy Canadian.cheaper than Walnart by far.
Since adding self checkouts the staff seem miserable. Line ups are larger in the evenings when they turn off the self checkouts and attempt to use one of two cash registers. The store itself feels cramped now and may items are miss matched to departments that they clearly don't belong too.

I went to buy hot bar food and ended up picking a few other items today. When paying for my items I asked the cashier if I could buy a gift card. He said, "Yes, but I'm going to help the next person in line so that he doesn't have to wait." What? I asked why I was supposed to wait as he wasn't finished serving me. I decided to not bother and will get a gift for my friend to shop somewhere else.

The manager told me to move from an aisle when I was speaking to one of the visiting sales reps for a supplement. This person I was talking to was contracted by WF and had a booth there, so the manager could have negatively affected their sale if I was going to buy.

You know there is an issue when Whole Foods is cheaper...Famous Foods has been our go to grocery store for our bi-weekly shopping. Over the last three months, the prices have getting higher so we started to track them. In fact, things like cottage cheese have gone up $1 in less than a month. We just went to Whole Foods to compare prices and the same brand butter, milk and other staples were at least $2 cheaper per item. As a neighborhood grocery store in a community which is not know for its wealth, $12 for butter and $9 for milk is outrageous. Increasing prices that quickly is uncalled for and a real scam. We won't be going back again.

Love this store but the addition of self checkouts is a real let down. Come on Canadian company you need to employ staff not customers. I believe in customer service !
I just had the worst experience in the supplement department. The staff was shockingly rude. They were out of stock on a product, and I brought the tag to the service desk to ask if I could order it. Instead of accommodating me, the woman snapped at me for bringing her the tag. I said I’m bringing it to you to show you what I’m looking for. I thought it would make it easier for you to scan it. I will put it back. I know exactly where I got it from. She snapped at me to do that now! Then she tried to take it out of my hand to say that she would do it. As I was sticking it back on the shelf! Never again. I’d rather shop where I am treated with courtesy and kindness.
Usually a good place to go for cheaper prices on vegetarian items. Better than in the grocery stores where it can be double the price. Great prices on sale items
Not a huge fan of all the self checkouts they recently put in. Went in to return some items, had no issues, was fast and pleasant. I feel bad for the workers though, as it seems the air conditioning isn't working properly when I was there Sept 5th 2023
I use to get a lot of good products from here...I hadn't been in a while so I thought I'd stop in. They have rearranged a little. If you enjoy vegan frozen goods, this is your store. There's a lot of options for beyond meat. Lots of gluten free items too. Not to much left for me to purchase.
I absolutely adore this place when I go to Trenton. They have fantastic deals. However, when you see something best to get it then as their stock rotates & they may not have it again.
I hope im not the only one but when i bought curry for take out, when i got home it smelled so bad. Its like few days old curry, it tasted sour too.

Mainly just go for the deli, and bakery...always fresh and friendly staff to deal with
BE VERY CAREFUL! The seeds sold in bulk are contaminated with mosquitos and its larva. I was there today warning of this from a purchase made last week, and the cashier was more interested in me showing the receipt to prove I got it there, than in the very food contamination you can easily see in the containers at the end of the store, full of flying mosquitos inside. It’s a shame, I’m not not coming back.
I purchased a fruit and veggie bento box yesterday and I assume this is how they get rid of all their soft and semi squalid produce. Grapes were so soft I had to threw them all away. It had just been packaged so not a issue with sitting too long on shelf just yucky
This is the biggest Safeway of the 4 in my area. Huge covered parking lot free for 2 hours.
Their produce is always fresh. Large bakery section. Lots of self-service checkouts. Customer service and everything was better before Canada Safeway were acquired by Sobeys in 2013.

Not impressed, prices through the roof but when I got blueberries, some nice ones were on the top, and the floor sweepings and inedible pieces were hidden at the bottom, not a few, but like a good 1/4 of the container. Won't be buying here again.
As someone who juices regularly I have to drive here from Richmond to get good quality organic produce. It’s incredible to me that I cannot rely on the local Richmond grocery stores (including Superstore) to reliably carry organic produce. And contrary to what many people believe about whole foods, their organic produce always costs me LESS than when I am able to find it in Richmond!!

Love this place for Kerala snacks, take aways and groceries. Friendly staff. Crowded most times, which is expected due to the tasty food they serve. Parotta beef and Egg puffs are my favs.

You need to drop in periodically to get the best deals. We don't buy the fruits and veggies from China or India, but we find a lot of fun things we like from time to time.

Wonderful little grocery in Kits. Excellent selection of products, both Asian and European, plus fresh produce. Friendly people too. I would much rather shop here than in the Safeway or Whole Foods across the street.

2 days ago, I went to this store to get discounted toilet paper. I found the isle and the price tag. Price tag was on the floor standing and bunch of same toilet paper behind it. $5. Got one. Went to the cashier. It came up to $9. I asked “wasn’t it $5? I got it behind this price tag” and the cashier says “oooh they’re sold out. So that’s why they put these in place instead.” So they literally put $9 toilet paper behind the price tag of $5 and I guess hope for customers to not notice it while they are robbing them to the bone. Probably many customers didn’t even notice it because they didn’t check their receipts. What a joke…
On May 22, 2023 at 10.30 am. I went to this location to return some bottles that I bought from this store. I went to customer service desk and found 3 employees chatting in front of it. No one paid attention to me. I had to say "Excuse me" to interrupt them. Then a female employee told me to put the bottles in the returned bags. Then I came back to tell her how many bottles I had returned. Then she told a male employee who was responsible for self check out machines to write down the money I would get for the bottle return on a piece of paper to bring to a cashier. All cashiers were busy with the lines up while these employees were kept chatting to each other.
I didn't like the way that this female employee looked at me and treated me. I am not a homeless that earns money from bottle return. I returned the bottles to your store because I bought them from your store. I live close to your store and want to recycle the plastic to safe our environment. I don't put the bottles into blue bin to recycle because some homeless always make a mess and steal something in my car port.

Originally we gave five stars, but an experience happened that made us change our mind. We had an unfortunate incident with a cashier, Sim*n, who tossed paper bags our way when we asked for them and left us to bag our products ourselves. But she then enthusiastically made conversation with the next customer in line and helped with her bags. This cashier doesn’t seem quite fit for this retail business,and hopefully if she reads this, she will understand that “architecture is also a field in which cooperation and civility is very important if she ever decides to make good on her college degree.”.also Safeway customer service is also a joke or something.. look all the one star comment, the attitude of the cashier is always the problem but Safeway Company seems really don’t care about that! If you want a better shopping experience, maybe try another one!

Bought the meal combo with 3 veggies today evening. The guy did not pack one of the curries. I don’t think this is a super complex job. May be you should hire competent employees.

Store is well organized and clean. Produce always looks good. What I don't like is when meat is on sale, they always place another Non sale item beside it with a "special" sticker. I'm sure a lot of shoppers take this item by mistake.
They have a great selection of high quality produce, often including local items and things I can't find elsewhere. Prices are super competitive, especially given the quality. Their dry goods offer a well curated mixture of North American and Asian items. So much more variety than the big grocery stores.
Pros: Excellent grocery store. This is my favourite store in the area for produce especially - great prices and local selection!! Everyone is super friendly as well.

Only one cashier is particularly unfriendly. She never asks for your GT membership. Always appears annoyed when you tell her you have the membership. She once refused to take my #, told me I didn't qualify. I seem to always have the wonderful luck of her being my cashier.

Good place to get takeout food. The entire store is small and we had to wait a really long time to check out groceries as everyone is busy with take out food. There's some variety of Kerala snacks and food. But overall there's lots of work needed.
I live near this place, so I've been coming here for the pre cooked to go and grocery for over ten years. The store is small, but most of daily necessities an be found here, and the weekly sale items always offer very good prices. There are many employees who will greet you proactively and offer help. However, there are two female employees in the coffee bar department who have been working there for a very long time. Whenever I see them, even though they are wearing masks, I feel like they are not looking at me and do not want to greet me. They seem very indifferent, which is really bad when I come to drink coffee early in the morning. I always say thank you politely, but they still don't respond much. Overall, most of the employees are enthusiastic, and the products are fresh and reasonably priced. I will still come here to consume frequently.
I find amazing deals here all the time. I see new products weekly. Whether it's a name brand, European, US, gluten-free, vegan, plant-based, or just about anything frozen, and so much more, it's a fraction of the price at this store. The staff is helpful and friendly. They always have something new to show me. It's my first stop when I get groceries. Don't forget the candy! That's my favourite part. 😍

Perhaps, your distributor overcharged you or some errors occurred on their part.

I love the produce that Metro carries. Very good quality. The bakery and deli are always well stocked. Staff is very helpful and pleasant 😊

Awesome selections of budget friendly organic meats and spices. We have been coming here for over 10yrs and always stock up on meats.

Aside from the lack of parking, this grocery store is one of best anywhere. Far better variety than Safeway or any other small local market. Just astounding what you can find there--on par with Famous Foods. They deserve your business. Let's make sure they stay in business.
This natural foods grocery store is located in Kitsilano with very fresh produce and quality bulk food items..there is some limited parking off the alley behind the store..very friendly staff..
I got a 'To Good to Go' app' haul of goodies, awesome value for money and a great range of still fresh locally sourced fruits and vegetables. Albeit mostly full of onions, there was some good variety of produce veggies and fruits. Where any packaging was used, was fully compostable which is rad.
Small grocery store - will get a lot of Kerala products. There is also a restaurant within the place and seems authentic good Kerala food.
It's newer shopping Center in north Barrie. There are many famous brand chain stores. There are many free parking spaces.
Safeway on Broadway near Macdonald Street has free parking for a two hour period which allows a good amount of time to finish your grocery shopping... my experience with any staff I meet is very positive as they have the same goal as I do, finding me quality products at a very reasonable price..the Covid-19 structures for the store is very positive and meant to protect all participants..good prices and quality of products are available here..
Very nice store, great options for bulk food and general groceries. When is come to fresh fish and meats I wasn’t much impressed by they display. Done good bread and crackers, cheese selection was good abs veggies also. Some items are a good price and many a bit $$$ so you really need to look well. Overrule like the place and will come back just because the options on bulk products
If you are looking for ethnic foods, this is a very good option in the heart of Kitsilano. Other offerings include fresh produce, a frozen foods section & bulk items (grains, nuts, etc.). They also have a prepared foods section with some vietnamese dishes like banh-mi, phô, and spring rolls. Social distancing is allowing in-store shopping, sanitizing lotion is also offered. Feel safe and shop comfortably...
This is a large, clean and modern Safeway. Located just on the corner of Broadway and MacDonald Street. There is free 2 hour parking, lots of stalls. The grocery store itself appears renovated, there was a line to get in a covid precautions were present but a mask is not mandatory yet. The aisles and shelves are well organized, the store itself is well lit and welcoming with lots of departments, bakery, deli, pharmacy, warm prepared foods and cold meals for purchase. Lots of cashiers and. It a long line at the till. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn’t overly busy. The line outside moved within 5 minutes even though there were 10-15 people on front of us.

Groceries, pharmacy, movie theatre, several restaurants and coffee places, plus a fitness centre. Everything in one place, with tons of choice for a meal while you're here. Parking is free and plentiful. Everything is clean and new.
well this is something you have been looking for it got all from a cineplex to gym and variety of restaurants like state and main bar ,finnon and many more . if you are a pizza lover you find boston pizza. Great place to visit for everyone from young one's to the one's who know how to hold a glass of beer.

Residents of North Barrie had to go to Bayfield and Georgian Mall until this complex came up. No longer. Many top and popular brand stores are here and more are opening every month. Ample parking too. I hope they add a few gaming stores for activities for teenagers like paintball, trampoline, etc. That would great.

Awesome shopping complex with lots of new options to dine and shop at. Different for Barrie and certainly much nicer compared to alternatives in the south end of Barrie. Even nicer compared to Park Place. Great place! Would recommend more additiona like this to the Barrie shopping landscape.

My gf and I pretty much eat the burritos from here 4 times a week. We love it so much!! The staff are super nice and very friendly. The only thing is that the size of the burritos are sometimes big some times small.
Great new stores for north end. No traffic getting off highway. Well laid out with lots of parking for Zehrs. Going to be nice for that area. Finally construction done. Loses star for taking 3 years to build.
