Undercooked noodles, orange chicken that tasted and felt like rubber. That's notwithstanding the expensive prices of their menu items now
China chopsticks is a great place for an at home family diner. The food is amazing and there are many options to choose from. I think everyone should definitely try this restaurant out.

Happy to have all vegan menu. Giving 3 stars for food because 1) temperature of the soup of the noodles was only lukewarm. Why wasn’t it hot?! I see another customer also complained about this in their review. 2) Coffee only lukewarm and small, not worth $6. Overall food felt just “ok”. Strengths: 1) Thai cocktail very good. 2) fresh rolls with avocado and tofu very good.
Entering Mother Tongue, I was charmed by its cute and cozy ambiance, but unfortunately, my dining experience quickly soured. While the flavors of the truffle fried rice were undeniably delicious, priced at $36, the portion size left much to be desired, barely satisfying a single diner.
The trend of inadequate portions continued throughout the menu, with prices unjustifiably high for the paltry servings provided. Even a simple mocktail (non-alcoholic beverage) priced at $14, felt exorbitant considering the portion size.
Moreover, the lack of seasoning in the dishes left me reaching for the salt and pepper shakers, further detracting from the overall dining experience.
Disappointed by the combination of meager portions and inflated prices, I won't be returning to Mother Tongue anytime soon. In fact, my hunger remained unsatiated, prompting me to seek sustenance elsewhere, resorting to a burger from A&W to curb my appetite.

Went here for my anniversary based off a friend’s recommendation!! The food was amazing! The staff was beyond amazing and so the service was incredible! I definitely recommend and will be going back again for the next special occasion

Friendly and attentive service! The sushi was delicious and came out fast! The lychee grapefruit drink was sweet and tasty too
Went here because of the Plant Curious vegan coupon book and happened to be in the area. The service was friendly and quick, and they did have a separate vegan menu - but wasn’t 100% sure the appetizer we got (ohitashi) was actually vegan (tasted like the broth had dashi and contained dashi flakes). But the rolls were good, especially the green monster roll! Prices are a little higher than average.

Service was the kind where you had to keep reminding the server of things asked for and interrupted conversation without apology or easing in, but he was quite friendly and knowledgeable. He also timed things poorly, ie pouring our dinner wine while we were still sipping on our pre dinner cocktails. The food was good, but the Peking duck was tough and a mess to eat since you needed a knife to eat it, not in a wrap like they suggest, you can't bite through the duck without yanking on it with your fingers. Not cute. The flavours were great outside of that and the duck fried rice was phenomenal.
We found this place today when we were in the shopping center with large portions, delicious food worth four out of five, but most of all I was pleased. This price is quite loyal and very, very fast, guys. Thank you guys.🫰🏼
Always prejudiced against Vegan food and it was confounded today at Saigon Lotus. Absolutely brilliant food. We had the 20 and the 28 and didn’t leave a speck of food particle behind. There were only 2 waitresses when we went in to a packed restaurant but not a single moment did we feel ignored. Fantastic service.
5 star food. We enjoyed everything we ordered! The reason for 4 stars is that my husband witnessed a male employee use the bathroom without washing his hands after. When he left, he headed back towards the kitchen. We don't know if he was handling food directly or not, but he worked there. Either way, ALL employees (and everyone else) should be washing their hands after using the restroom. It's unhygienic and gross not to.
It was amazing. The food was so fresh and so tasty. Proper Vietnamese experience eith vegetarian food. They promote sustainability too. Service was very fast and swift for everything. The decor and ambiance are good too.

I had a great experience here! The service was fast and the staff were lovely. At first, our table took quite a while for it be set up. I booked my reservation for 8 pm but it almost took 30 minutes for us to be seated, so that was a little odd. However, one of our servers was very kind enough and gave us free drinks to compensate for the time we waited. She didn't have to do that but the gesture was much appreciated. Came here for winterlicious and the food was very good. The ambience was great as well. Highly recommend!
Finally got to try this place - food was good but it certainly lacked the Filipino in the Filipino restaurant. I found it more of a fusion with nuances of Filipino flavours. Nice presentation … service was a little slow. One cool tidbit … they have a speakeasy in the basement of the resto. Try it out.

I would not eat here again. I ordered to meals for $16 each and I did not get a $16 value. Also the order did not come with napkins, sauces, or forks.
I would not recommend giving this establishment your money. I think WU JI XI'AN FOODS is a much better alternative and it's right across the street.

425 Prawn & Chicken Com Tam - Starting off with a plate of rice with a fragrant caramelized jumbo prawn, slightly sweet and packed with umami, along with a creamy sauce made with its head butter that's just heavenly with rice. The egg sausage and bbq chicken were also cooked nicely to develop a rich colour, which equals flavour.
317 Bun Thit Nuong - The vermicelli in the next bowl were thicker and more slippery than other places, with an addicting crisp from the spring rolls stuffed with taro and pork and the minced shrimp paste on sugar cane.

We went to several restaurants before we settled on this one because the other places didn’t take credit card. This place is one of the few that did. Glad we went, you don’t really notice it as you walk along Spadina because the restaurant is on the second floor. Good prices, generous amount of food, spacious area, and quick service. Would definitely return.

Lively atmosphere, beautiful night. We didn’t get a table, had a bar reservation… The place was packed, good choice of drinks and food… Service is impeccable. Our server Isabella was really nice and friendly… The bartender made some really rocking drinks… It was a birthday night out… good time!

I’d also highly recommend the taro milk tea and taro latte. I’ve tried all the rice paper rolls and I think spicy jicama peanut is the best :)

The food we had was delicious. It's what we expected my friend and I. However, the service was the deal breaker, for a moment, I told myself that I may have gotten a bit of oversensitive. But after the whole night has gone, my friend and I were 100% sure that the service was off tonight. First of all, we were not greeted at the front and I had to walk into the inner room to show myseld up to remind the service team that there were someone by the door waiting to be seated. And after the waitress who turned out to be our waitress later told me that I needed to wait 2 more mins for our table, she disappeared and never came back to welcome us instead of a male waiter told us the table was ready. The over-the-table was even weirder. We were not asked for more water, food nor dessert after we finished our order. The whole journey for us was sitting there and eating the food some brought to us. It's interesting that since when the Canada restaurant service has become so entitled when restaurants complian about their small business can't survive? It's obvious that we liked the food a lot that I would definitely order takeout service next time instead to avoid spending any penny to such poor service standard. I rather pay tips to someone who at least pedalling hard to complete their task than standing there feeling confident that they will get their 18% tips at least!
Small portion, bad taste. There is nothing good about this place. Fried items are full of fried batter, hardly of any meat. The noodle is overly cooked. They need a new management if they want to continue in the business.

from their summerlicious menu, we had the steelhead trout crudo, hoisin duck confit, and peach mango pudding.
out of the three dishes i had, the crudo was the only thing that really stood out. it was vibrant in flavour and was very unique. i would get it again! 8/10
the hoisin duck confit however, i found that it lacked flavour. the hoisin was the only flavour coming through with this dish, which can get really tiring. additionally, we were excited to try the freshmade scallion pancake, but found this to be extremely dry and also lacking flavour. 4/10
the peach mango pudding was also nothing special. it was also very tart but that is a personal preference of mine.

FULL OF FLAVOR! Very authentic aromatic flavored dishes!
First time trying this place. The entire place is VEGAN!! A nice variety including banh mi, soups, sides, desserts, coffees etc.

HAD TAKE AWAY FROM SKIP THE DISH...THE EGG ROLL WAS BURNT BLACK. THE NOODLES WERE OVERCOOKED...AND THE FRIED WONTONS WELL ILL GIVE THEM AN EDIBLE BUT NOTHING GREAT
We came here for an engagement party and the service was great! Loved the ambience of this restaurant. The food was delicious but a little oily for my taste, but I guess that’s expected for Asian cuisine. The portions could’ve also been a little bigger. We got fish bowls for the table and those tasted divine and loved the light that came with the bowl! Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a fun Asian fusion restaurant.
Not recommended if you are a savory person. The chilly chicken also has a sweet taste, and overall the chicken they use is a bit different (I don't know how to explain it, but you know it if you are a foodie).
Perfect vegan spot in Toronto. The atmosphere was amazing. The gentle, rolling music & waterfalls had me sooooo sleepy while I was eating. But it was a comfortable relaxed sleepy. And the food was AMAZING! Great prices for the portions. Love!!!!!
Our food was cooked to order and was delicious. We were hesitant to try seeing some of the reviews stating the quality has diminished. This is the first time we’ve tried the food here so we can’t really compare but I thought the food was great. Seasoned well, tasted fresh and loved that it was fresh off the wok. Good meat to vegetable ratio. I do find some fast food Chinese chains put a lot of onion or vegetables as fillers but did not think this was the case for China Chopsticks. We ate it in our car at the parking lot for lunch. We will definitely come back to order again.

I used to come here often and then stopped for some reason. Came again recently and was pleasantly surprised that the prices didn’t go up astronomically.

Can say 10/10, this is one of the prettiest in Toronto for sure, and not just the design, even the drinks are damn good. Loved the vibe and was really satisfied with the whole service. Thanks for gathering nice people there to make a lovely night for you and your besties. It is worth trying for sure and you fall in love with it.
The food here is incredibly delicious, and the atmosphere is hip and comfortable. The staff were friendly and we had a lovely time! My main complaint is that the prices are really high for what you get - $18 for 4 dumplings is exorbitant.
The staff who served was very nice and pleasant. But the food was bad. Ordered fried rice and honey garlic chicken. The fried rice was definitely recooked after been kept refrigerated. The honey garlic chicken wasn’t fresh either.

My sister took me here for my birthday dinner and we had the bottom less bites. The food was good, but honestly, our server made everything so much better. If you ever go, you need to ask for Jose! He suggested a a new noodle dish that the chef was making, I forget what it was called, but I will post a photo of it; it had truffles and mushrooms with flat noodles, It wasn’t from the Bottomless Bites menu, but it was worth it. From the bottom less bites menu I really liked the Bao and shrimp dumplings. Thank you so much Jose for an amazing experience, I will never forget it. I hope to come back again soon.

We happened to be the last table of the night. They were nice to us, didn't rush us to order, and the food came out quickly. Clean place delicious Pho. Give them a try if you haven't.

I asked for some sweet potatoes 🥔 and there was hardly any left in the metal tray, I thought they would make a fresh batch for me and not give the left over they had. I feel I was short changed on that one. But overall the 🍖 meat is good and veggies are fresh. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
The atmosphere and vibes are very good but the food was the downside as the portions are small, chicken was very dry, and sushi was way too salty with too much soy sauce. The drinks were better than food with the matcha sour, earth drink and espresso martini was alright. Perhaps the kareoke bar would have been better but I strongly think flavours and presentation of the food can be improvised. However, The dasha fried rice and dumplings was probably best dishes out of several others we had.

Walked through the mall food court and the vibes of this place just seemed right. Drawn in by the vibrant staff and free samples, did not expect restaurant quality flavours at mall food court prices and speed. Grilled chicken was fall off the bone tender and delicious. Bussin potatoes. Awesome noodles. Highly recommended

Food was horrible, ordered 4 rolls and none of them was particularly good. The hamachi roll with the king crab inside is so unbelievably dry, it feels like it’s been through the dehydrators.
And don’t even get me started on the Okonomiyaki. It’s so inauthentic, not surprised tho even people who ran the restaurant wasn’t even Japanese, but I still. Expected better. And don’t even get me started on the Okonomiyaki. It’s so inauthentic, not surprised tho even people who ran the restaurant wasn’t even Japanese, but I still. Expected better. This place is just walking distance from the Yaletown skytrain station and beside the Starbucks.
The service was attentive and very friendly throughout the whole experience. Restaurant has a patio which is nice to have in the summer.
The food however was not the best. The udon was probably the best dish but the sushi was not that great unfortunately. The rice was very stale for all 5 dishes we ordered. Maybe just an off day? Giving them the benefit of the doubt here since the staff were friendly and attentive but I didn’t want to send the food back. If it was one dish I would have but all 4 dishes were like that.
Maybe I will give them a shot again next time hoping quality will be better next time.

Incredible sushi,
the quality of fish is one of the bests I’ve seen in Toronto, and the sushi portions are extremely generous.

Wonderful Japanese real real sushi! I eat shishi here every month, and always they serve perfectly.
105 - beef flank brisket is very good. Rare beef is not too tough. Not a fan of the soup but it was saved by the lime. Could be hotter. Great price for $11 small.

Can’t say we will order from here again….quite the shame as it was always a safe go to.
Update: couldn’t help our selves thought too give it another shot ( we’ve had so many good meals from here over the last 15 years, this could just be the cook during the week)…ordered on a Saturday with high hopes of redemption for them…😖man it was just as bad if not worse then the last few times…such a sad situation..once a safe go to now a never buy😢

This was the worst food experience I have ever had and would award it zero stars if I could. I threw out 2/3rds of the order of dinner for 6. Also, website has price at $69 but price charged was $99. Such a disappointment. Don't know how they can stay in business
If you remember the chain of Chinese restaurants around toronto called HO LEE CHOW . They abruptly closed back in 2005. I used to get couple of dishes from them and I always had one favourite dish. After the closure of HO LEE CHOW I went on a Chinese food hunt to find my old favourite, after many searches and trail, I found this place, as soon as I found out that the owners are ex owners of HO LEE CHOW on Winston Churchill I was ecstatic. I’ve been their customer since 2008 and I always get one dish (satay chicken). They make it very well. I like that dish so much that I would choose that as my last meal before checking out.
I went to try out this place when I found myself waiting for an order across the street from the restaurant. I thought I would sit down for a nice quiet dinner instead I was met by the waitress trying to avoid sitting me next to a reserved table which by the way remained unclaimed for most of my dinner. She then came soon after I had finish the main dishes to ask me if I was done and if I wish to be brought the bill. To my horror I looked around and it was half empty and I was hoping to finish my tea. I was going to ask for the bill when I was ready to leave but it wasn’t at the time. I enjoyed my salmon sashimi but not so much the spicy salmon roll. Service is poor in my opinion. Not what I’d expected. Needless to say I will not be returning. Thank you,

Amazing Japanese restaurant, visited this restaurant on a Friday evening and was able to make reservations. Small restaurant and very hard to get a reservation.

Tried couple times, despite they mentioned 3-5 happy hours, I haven’t received any happy hour menu or offer by the waitress. I tried Launch Box B, the misso soup wasn’t good and the salad was too small, other than was good. $16 before tax and tip.
Low quality and waste of $. More vegetables than meat in the dishes.. like you really have to dig to find a meat piece. I love hot and sour soup. You can say I am a connoisseur of hot n sour soup. Lets just say this place is doing an injustice to the soup. Would not recommend. Please make the prices appropriately reflect the quantity and quality of the food.
Great service. This is a old school store where they let you sample the food give you good portions respect you and the best of all have great food.
The freshest and most beautifully presented sashimi that I've had outside a fine dining restaurant. We stumbled upon this restaurant while walking around on a quest for dinner and it seemed like a place where locals frequent and it was an absolute gem of a find. Would definitely come back as all the food was delicious and the services was super friendly and attentive.

We have ordered take out from here for many years minus covid. We ordered last night for a special occasion and everything was SO disappointing . Chicken balls rock hard, other Chicken dish was rubbery, I could go on. We won't go back, and will not recommend
overall the food is pretty good, I’ve ordered it three times. I really enjoy the cantonese egg noodles, I believe their quality of food is better than most Chinese takeout places. The general tao was way to saucy for my liking but the chicken quality was decent and not over cooked like many fast takeout food is. I think the prices are a bit high but the portions are not bad. Another complaint is the staff can be rude, never to me but I have heard them yelling on the phone at presumably customers over wrong orders.
Great authentic Japanese restaurant in North York, Toronto. Lots of locals, only about 8 tables so very small, highly recommended reservations be made. Can also walk in but peak times like weekends it gets very busy. Definitely one out our favourites and always reliable and consistent. Great service too!

Really enjoyed our meal here. Tempura veggies, Ocean Roll, Dragon roll and the Hawaii Roll were all excellent choices! Angela was a 10/10 as our server. She was friendly, attentive and knew her menu. Thanks again for a great meal.
Enjoyable and affordable chinese takeout. I ordered the house special wonton soup, house special lo mein, some shrimp dish, orange beef, and the general Tsao combination plate. Expect for the orange beef, I would order everything again. This was an order for two people ( I wanted to check out different dishes), and there was so much food we ended up eating leftovers for days!
The pepper steak is really flavourless as for the salt and pepper shrimps are the worst I ever had. The shrimps looks great but really weird,it taste like pepper from India or somewhere else but definitely not what I’m use to when I order salt and pepper shrimps . Its a really acquired taste .The general Tao is okay . The eggs noodle are okay too.
It's a good local place and has been in our community for many years. Food is usually fine but sometimes heavy on the vegetables / breading and less meat than average. On one occasion, ordered dinner for four and specifically asked for no onions. Was assured that only the spring rolls have onion. This is one of the dishes that arrived :(
I ordered pickup, Black pepper beef with steamed rice ($17). Food tasted OK and had good amount of spice but portion was unbalanced and could have used more beef, it was basically all onion under the top layer. This is a very small takeout place with no seating and it looks pretty dingy on the outside, the inside is not much better as it's very cluttered and not very appealing. There is parking available and service was pretty quick. The experience was definitely not anything special, I don't think I will be back anytime soon.
I had a vegetarian dish but, it really neither tasted nor smelt like a vegetarian food :-(
