For context I learned to swim at this sports centre 40 years ago so have been swimming here on and off for years. Today was the last time, the changing rooms absolutely reak of urine and so do the showers. There are many lockers, changing rooms and toilets with out of order stickers on. Some keys on the lockers are attached to used hair bands, some keys have the wrist attachment and some just a key. There are ceiling tiles missing.
The pool tiles are filthy and stained or mouldy (I can't tell but they look awful) the ladders in and out of the pool are dirty and have a layer of grime on them.
There are no spinning machines for costumes which would also be helpful as most other centres seem to have these now.
I felt dirtier after my shower as all I could smell was urine. It was disgusting. What has happened to the up keep?
I wouldn't recommend this swimming pool anymore until the cleanliness is dealt with.

I came 18th June 2024 for my sons birthday. I had arranged for a few of his friends to join us. From the moment we arrived till we left the staff could not off done any thing better to help. They were great. Always checking too clear our table. Talking to the children .
When we ordered food and drink it was quick and and very efficient service. They kept checking we had enough of every thing and made sure all the children were content with there food.

Studio22 is a great place to train! My partner and I have been going regularly for 3 months now and we can really see the changes to our physical and mental well-being.
Richard has been amazing. His training routines and fun, varied and informative. He challenges us to push through the pain and we couldn’t rate him highly enough.

Great studio space. Jenna is such a wonderful caring teacher. Highly skilled and trained. My child loves gymnastics and has improved so much this past year. Thank you!
I've been to a lot of gyms - this one is the best! The gym has a strong community feel, making you feel welcome and supported.The semi personal training sessions are fantastic, both Andrew and Jenna are very knowledgeable and provide provide the necessary support to achieve my fitness goals. Overall, I would highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a more personalised fitness experience.
Jenna and Andrew’s gym and studio is amazing. I’ve been seeing Jenna to help get my body strong again after my second baby and I couldn’t recommend her more. She is extremely knowledgable, friendly and really makes sure that your form is correct whilst you’re training. She is also a baby whisperer. My six month old adores her and joins us for the sessions!
Small but beautiful gym. Very friendly and welcoming. Excellent exercise programmes built around individuals. Recommended!
Never liked Kingsway as a teenager, made a poor decision to return for a while, but nothing has changed. Depressing, miserable looking building, doesn't inspire or enthuse you at all.

I was hesitant to give this place two stars but, the front desk staff are friendly and welcoming.
Downside - ignorant cafe staff who chose to carry on talking amongst themselves rather than serving customers who were waiting.

Absolutely love this place, look forward to training every week, all of the coaches are encouraging, knowledgeable and supportive. Studio 22 has had a massive impact on my health and well being, couldn’t recommend it highly enough.
Great local swimming pool not to busy has loads of other facilities
I started at CrossFit Scarborough a month ago and I am so glad I joined. I was Really nervous when I first started, but the coaches and fellow CrossFit members have been amazing and very welcoming. I already feel so much better in myself and can't wait to continue my fitness journey with everyone. :-)

I'd only ever done the more typical gym scene before and had never stuck with it. Whether it be the atmosphere, the lack of self motivation or the lack of routine, it just wasn't the kind of environment that encouraged me to better myself.
Pete, Warren and Kim have been incredible from the start. They are always there with encouragement, the ability to create a fun environment and top quality coaching.
I am now in the best shape of my life and happier than ever before. Not only has Crossfit Scarborough helped me to improve my physical fitness and general health, but has also massively increased my self-esteem and confidence.
I have found myself executing movements and exercises that I had no idea existed before I started and slowly but surely become a lot more confident in myself in doing so.

I joined CrossFit 2 months ago to get fitter and it has since become a hobby I really enjoy and want to progress at. The community of CrossFit and the motivating coaches have been amazing, and have led me to PR my back squat and get my first kip pull up already. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to give it a go!

Friendly reception staff. Great 25m pool with various depths. Can get very busy so definitely worth booking in advance. Shared changing and shower facilities, though one private shower in the toilets.
The management of the gym allow bullying and harassment of vulnerable people to go unchecked. I have made a complaint about a member of this gyms behaviour towards an elderly disabled man that can no longer use the gym because of him. I have not had a reply and the victim was told that they had lost his complaint and he should just get on with it.
We have been going to the Penrith leisure centre for a while now. We love it so much. The staff are so friendly. We go swimming 3 times a week. And we also go to the gym too. And I also do some classes to. It's a lovely place to meet people too . You always meet people to talk to in the pool 🏊♂️ we are members now. We are very happy at the leisure centre. Thanks again for your kindness from Hev and Phil 🏊♂️
Really good facilities and friendly staff
My review is based on swimming lesson experience. The changing and shower area smell of urine and are filthy. Have been coming here for 6 months now and have never seen a cleaner on site checking the state of facilities. The pool has brown discolouration on the bottom. The lessons overlap which results in cutting the childrens swimming time by 2/3 minutes every time (lessons are only 30 minuts). On the plus side the swimming teachers are great! Front of house staff not always up to scratch with customer service. As for the Everyone active app, no staff was able to explain how it works so its completely useless to me. Very disappointing.
Studio 22 is an incredible gym! It is small and intimate which is perfect if you are just starting your fitness journey and need some extra support or just dont like being in a crowded gym. The PTs are phenomenal and so dedicated to your success and doing things right. If you're thinking of joining do it! I've never been so consistent in a gym since joining Studio 22 and genuinely look forward to each session.
Plenty of amenities, and at 14:30 it was fairly quiet
Did a bubble football event in the sports hall here, both goals were broken and I was told that they didn’t have the appropriate equipment to put out the futsal goals. Staff were extremely rude and not helpful at all, pulling faces about helping and speaking to both me and the client as if we were children. Absolutely do not recommend! If you have got any other options for booking out places for parties or going for any other activity then definitely take them and don’t come here!!
No use if security inside center. My son's bike helmet was stolen and they did not check CCTV footage. Requested them for a footage and they said cameras were not working. Finally after forcing them they asked me to lodge police complaint so that they will provide CCTV footage to police.
I could not recommend Studio 22 highly enough. I had never used weights before and was nervous to start, but the friendly environment and all of the coaches put me at ease instantly. Both Carter and Jordan took the time to teach me the correct form and gradually build up my plans. I have been going for 8 months now and have found a new love for health & fitness. Do not hesitate to book that first session!
Before becoming a parent I would have given three or four stars in a review for this leisure centre, but now visiting the place with a different approach as a parent my review is one star. The small pool is freezing, we've been a dozen or so times and within two minutes the kids are freezing and not enjoying it. Today they both had neoprene vests over their swim suits and were still baltic after two mins. It's a 38 mile round trip for us which make this even worse. Better gyms and the council could use the money they're not investing in the keswick pool to maybe bump the temperature up a degree or two in Penrith.

The pool has appropriate heating, and the staff is friendly. The gym together membership is a bit expensive, and still I suppose it won't cover most classes. But facility wise, the leisure center is great.

Came back after a very long time, booking online is easy to do. Was able to have a side of the pool near the wall to help with my anxiety which helped my confidence. Some of the older swimmers were a little rude but there were some who helped me feel at ease and asked if i was OK. I waited till my slot time to get in whereas others jumped in as they came, I'm not sure if this is intended but the booking doesn't seem to specify what to do on arrival. Other than that I look forward to coming back again for my x2 weekly swim.
I've been a member at Scarborough CrossFit for three months now, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. After recovering from an injury, I was determined to regain my fitness levels. Pete and Warren have been instrumental in helping me achieve that. The coaches are knowledgeable and supportive, pushing me to reach new heights while ensuring my previous injuries are safe. The workouts are challenging yet adaptable, allowing me to progress at my own pace. Thanks to Scarborough CrossFit, my fitness has improved massively, and I'm excited to explore my fitness with them.
The fitness changing rooms & Sauna facilities both need a complete revamp & more realistically, the whole building needs rebuilding. The building’s footprint is limited, so if ever rebuilt they probably need to add another floor for more space. Currently, there is only ONE shower in the upstairs male fitness changing room. This small changing room can probably only accommodate about four people in total comfortably. Ingeniously a hand drier has been placed above the bench in the changing room so if you sit under it expect to be blown to bits. The Sauna downstairs has been out of action since the pandemic, looks like there is no intention (or money) to get this working again. You cannot use the swimming changing rooms when schools are in, which is annoying, but there was barely enough room to get changed in the sauna room if there were more than three or four people in there anyway. Just a small bench and two changing cubicles in that room. Humidity in the Sauna room was also always very high from my memory, so it was difficult to get dry in that room after using the Sauna. Another thing is the gym is missing items of equipment that is available at other Livewire sites. No bicep or tricep machines here. Yes, the gym is a smaller one here, so there are limits to what it can accommodate but I’d rather have at least one of everything rather than numerous treadmills & rowers etc.
Today we took our baby swimming for the first time. The pool was great, not too busy for a fully booked session either.

Why can't councils run anything themselves anymore? They get these big private firms in who just take of the facilities that we all paid to build and then you find yourself paying nearly £7 for a swim, having use a flipping app to book and the facilities looking tired and dirty. Someone is winning out of all this but sure as heck isn't us.
They were very helpful sorting out swimming lessons for our little boy.
It's a great place . The pitch is very good and you can get a good bacon butty .
I played badminton here. The place is a little dated but it has some good facilities. Badminton club is on a Thursday 7:30 till 9:30 pm, all comers welcome
Fantastic swimming pool. I love taking my two young boys to the sensory swim which makes for a really good swim session. There are coloured lights and images on the walls. The changing area is exceptionally clean which I think shows the dedication of the staff in making it all good customer experience. Usually there's a couple of buckets of swim toys and floats which my children love to play with and that's all that's really needed for them to enjoy it all.
Been training here for 7 months, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the whole experience, all of the trainers take a real interest in you and your fitness ‘journey’. They make training after a long day seem fun no matter how exhausted you are, and the other clients are super lovely and there is a real sense of community. Honestly this place has made a huge difference in my life, and I can’t image going to another gym after coming here.
Nathan In the soft play and cafe in Penrith leisure centre is an absolute delight. Such a credit to your company, nothing is ever to much, his can do attitude is outstanding, so happy, welcoming and a Joy to go there with his excellent customer service. 😀

Absolutely love this gym! It has a unique community feel, combined with exceptional, personalized training. The coaches really make it special. Coach Carter is incredibly accommodating, always ensuring everyone is taken care of. Coach Jordan is a standout technique-wise and is welcoming even to those bringing their babies or small kids. And Coach Olu is super knowledgeable (not to mention has great music!). They’re just part of a fantastic team here. No matter which coach you work with, you’re guaranteed a top-notch experience. We are moving but will miss these guys! Highly recommended!
Recently finished a bunch of small group PT sessions at Studio 22 and absolutely loved them. Fantastic tailor made programmes in a really upbeat, fun environment. Carter, Jordan and Olu are full of enthusiasm and motivation.Great guys. I’ll definitely be heading back in the new year 💥👌🏽😊👍🏽
Jenna has been fantastic training with my teenager, given her lots of confidence in the gym and generally being inspirational. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a gym for their teenager.
Fantastic studio. I've been working out at Studio22 for 3 months and love it. Really friendly environment, great trainers and advice. They've helped me get back into a weight lifting regime easily and start building back strength and physique. It's great value for money. Props to Jordan. "Believe"!
A really great leisure centre there are lots of facilities and a fantastic swimming pool with swim only lanes. It can get busy as expected but great staff and facilities.
BodyFit is by far the best training studio I have ever been. Such an amazing facility, calm, super clean, comfortable, top equipment and great environment.
Andrew and Jenna are very passionate and knowledgable about what they do, with only one session I have learnt a lot, and I am very much looking forward to my next ones.

Came to a couple of classes this week as I have been staying in the area. The gym is exceptionally clean with high standards. I was made to feel very welcome and everyone is exceptionally friendly. I did a Barbell Blitz and a HIIT class, both of which were a great workout. I'll be back again as I travel here often.

Is it possible to give this gym a 6 star rating? Body Fit is the most warm, supportive, fun and motivating gym I have ever known. The personal training is exceptional. I feel listened to and encouraged to meet my goals, and love attending- despite how hard I'm worked!!!

The pool is mainly used for swimming lessons and other money making activities. The times that the general public are permitted to swim are very limited. Very few of the showers have functioned as they should for a number of months and trying to get through the sketchy electronic gate at the entrance can be a challenge. Even the carpark is poorly designed. None of the staff seem to care about these issues and it feels as though majority of them are only working there in order to save cash to go on a gap year.
Having had so many disappointing experiences at 'everyone active' I now drive to leisure world in Bridlington where everything is better organised with staff that seem much more engaged, and they have waterslides!

The pool is exactly as I remember 25 years ago, the roof still leaks into the pool in the same 5 places and the air con ducts look like they contain the germs bound for the next pandemic.
It's about time south Warrington got some of the promised 'levelling up' money. Every other part of Warrington has a new state of the art leasure facilities, unfortunately not this area, sort it out WBC.

Been coming to BodyFit for 18 months now with great results. The combination of a personalised program within a group environment much better suits me compared with class based studios. It also helps that Andrew and Jenna and very supportive and the space is top notch.
Absolutely amazing place, with pools, gym, soft area, many things to do here.
Parking is very big and free as well.

I like it there but changing rooms and shower for gym are not that good but the equipment is modern and just as good as all the other gym in the group just a bit smaller.Needs a big refurb.The staff are always nice and welcoming.

Have a variety of activities for absolutely everyone whether you want a class for your toddler, a gym class for yourself no matter the age, an out of school club for an infant, they have it. The staff really are great. The reception staff are especially patient and accommodating.
Pool water is fairly warm, changing rooms are dated and need a refurbishment. Limited parking given the size of the building but there's always been spaces when I've gone.
Very clean. Changing area (for pool) is very tidy with ample lockers at hand.
The young lady on the desk was very helpful and friendly.

I needed to get my stepson a pair of goggles for swimming, the choice of styles and age groups was adequate, they were unfortunately very expensive.
I had booked a family swim session which the website informed me would take place in the ‘splash pool’ now for those of us who are not local and have never been before maybe a little explanation would have helped me decide if I’d wanted that or not. The splash pool is wonderful, for parents and very young ones, with a deep end of less than 1 meter, however, for me and our 10 year old is wasn’t ideal, however like I say the place was clean and the staff were very helpful, I just wish they’d explained the pool situation better. The main pool was being used for Lane swimming.
My stepson still enjoyed his swim, I just wish I had more.
The centre as a whole looks very nice indeed with lots of parking onsite. I would return I’d just check what pool I’d be using. I suppose the morale to this review is, read what your booking properly.

Absolutely top quality, fantastic members and great instructors in Bill, Joolz and Tamlar. Thoroughly enjoyed all the spin classes I attended (over 200) in 12 months I lived in Scarborough, deffo recommend
Started at Scarborough Crossfit in September 2021. I was very overweight and extremely unhappy. This place has changed my life. Awesome coaching staff and amazing people give the gym a tremendous atmosphere. I would highly recommend it to anyone that wants to change their life and get fit !!!!. And also have loads of fun on the way, 5 stars.

A good centre with a big range of classes and friendly, helpful staff. The gym has everything you need and is a good size too. Plenty of outdoor playing fields. Parking can get tricky if football training is on though.
I have been working with Bill at B J Fitness for a while now and always find Bill and his team professional and experts in their field
Very disappointed with my first experience here. Lack of equipment, never got shown around. 2 of the staff members was following around and very obviously just staring at us made us feel so uncomfortable we had to leave. Followed us to every section. Very strange behaviour.
Haven't been going for long, but the time I have spent there has been great, fantastic coaches that push you to be the best version of yourself. Supportive both in and outside of the gym and genuinely want the best for the people who train there. I would thoroughly recommend them to anyone who loves the sport of boxing, wants to learn a new hobby or wants to get fitter. Great people.
Inverurie Boxing Club have made our son feel so welcome since joining. The classes have been fun and energetic and the club have been excellent with updating parents with information that is needed. We would recommend to anyone looking to get into boxing to get in touch with the club. Keep up the good work 👍👍

He has been back 4 weeks and I see a huge difference physically and mentally. He’s keen to go to class and comes out absolutely buzzing. Huge appreciation to the coaches and everyone that makes it the club it is today.

My son has been attending Inverurie Boxing Club for nearly a year now, not only does he love it, but the 'staff', all volunteers, have been so supportive, encouraging and accommodating. He comes out buzzing every Thursday 😊
There are certain individuals in the gym (a trainer of some sorts with one or two people) who somehow use a third of the gym's space chatting and texting whilst people are waiting to exercise, which is the whole point of the gym. They also never clean down their equipment before or after use, which given the current situation of global affairs is nothing short of disrespectful and inconsiderate. If a breakout in covid occurs in Aberdeenshire, I wouldn't be shocked if this was the cause.

Gym facilities are small and inadequate for what you’re paying. Music is subjective but they play the most god awful trash as loud as they can, working out without headphones is impossible. Unless you like being blasted by random dubstep tunes mixed by your grandmother
Great variety of classes, well equipped gym, friendly staff and instructors. Very welcoming to new members, pay as you go options as well as memberships packages available.
Nice soft play area for the little ones the only thing is it's a bit on the small side nevertheless my kids spent over an hour and a half there. They do a really nice hot chocolate but the food menu is a little limited in choice. Food prices are reasonable but I feel as though the cost of entry for a SMALL soft play area isn't good value for money since the larger ones charge around similar price.

When I started at CrossFit Scarborough I thought I was reasonably fit. The very varied training provided by the excellent and welcoming coaches, however, showed me where I had weaknesses. Through regular training and investing in personal training sessions, not only have those weaknesses been corrected but I am stronger and more flexible than I have ever been. CrossFit helps me maintain muscle mass and bone density which allows me to continue enjoying all my activities of daily living. As well as quality coaching and a welcoming atmosphere CrossFit Scarborough is a lively, friendly community and is suitable for anyone of any age and ability.

Great little gym right In the center of scarborough. Easy to start and also very to leave no daft contracts it's a simple £15 a month from the 1st to the 1st. Plenty of classes on each day and good opening times also thought the week.
