Went for a visit yesterday but what a shame it was we couldn't visit the apartments (closed on tuesdays), so we visited the palatine chapel and the gardens. The chapel is unique, and worth a visit, the gardens are quite nice, with old huge trees but imo, the 10€/pax price in unjustified!
The most famous square of Verona. It is beautiful, usually busy and filled with shops and a flee market with Venetian masks, souvenirs and local products. You can't miss this square when visiting Verona. The 360 view of this square is beautiful and it is a great place for taking photos. There are many places to eat or have a snack and coffee.

There are many rhings to see inside the plaza, like la torre del mangia and the museum right next to it. You have to pay to go to these places inside but its worth it

The palatine chapel is really nice, but the cost of the ticket (the Norman Palace, the palatine chapel and the garden) is very expensive for what you get (compared with other touristic attractions from Europe and from Italy). If you do come, there is a reduced price for 3 days of the week (can't remember which), otherwise it is really expensive and not worth the money in my opinion. In the weekend the price is still higher, because you visit the royal apartments also.

The chapel is really beautiful, but the rest of the palace is closed off and you can’t see the apartments. It was a shame considering the €15 per person it costs to enter. The art gallery they have in right now is very average. The underground was cool! I’d skip it next time and would recommend visiting a different chapel if you want to avoid the high entry fee.
This was always on my bucket list and I wasn't disappointed. The area was very clean, everything including the grounds and buildings was very well-maintained. The fee to go up the stairs to the top of the tower was €20.
There isn't too much more to do in the city of Pisa so our total time spent there was about 2 hours. Parking is available close to the site and the price is very reasonable.
A staple to check out while traveling around Tuscany, it was very busy with many people "holding the tower up". There are tickets to also go up the tower if you are interested however we opted not to go up and stay at the bottom.

Note that there are some parts of the grass that you are not allowed to sit on so take note so that you don't get fined. The area itself is very nice and neat to see the leaning tower.
Very impressive medievial building and square.
This is a very cool place to visit. Nice little shops all around with restaurants and vendors. It can get a little crowded as well. The pricing doesn't seem to be too bad either. So you can enjoy ice cream , fruit or a meal.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa is an architectural marvel that never fails to captivate its visitors. I had the pleasure of visiting this iconic landmark on a serene Tuesday, and it was a truly memorable experience.

Firstly, the location itself, nestled in the Piazza del Duomo, is nothing short of breathtaking. The tower stands proudly amidst the other stunning structures, creating a picturesque setting that feels straight out of a postcard. The marble exterior of the tower glistens in the sunlight, making for fantastic photo opportunities.

What struck me the most, of course, is the tower's famous tilt. It's a surreal sight to witness in person. The engineering marvel and the historical significance of this tilt are awe-inspiring. You can't help but marvel at the audacity of the architects who began this project in the 12th century.

One advantage of visiting on a Tuesday was the relatively sparse crowd. This allowed me to appreciate the tower and its surroundings in a tranquil atmosphere. I could take my time exploring the Piazza, gazing up at the tower from various angles, and even climbing it to enjoy the panoramic view from the top.

In conclusion, the Leaning Tower of Pisa is an absolute must-visit for anyone traveling to Italy. Its architectural wonder and historical importance make it a world-class attraction. Whether you're an architecture enthusiast or simply a traveler seeking iconic landmarks, this tower will leave an indelible impression on you.

Obviously a must see when visiting Italy.

I paid to go up the tower which was a cool experience and felt strange Walking in a building that is leaning! The view from the top is amazing essentially of the neighboring buildings.

You cannot bring you bag inside the tower so be sure to drop it off the locker room (free of charge with ticket) beforehand and you can collect it after.

Don't forget to get some great pics 😁

Beautiful piazza designed by Michaelangelo, which is especially photogenic at night (they keep the lights on all night). Located behind the Altara della Patria/Vittoriano, just walk up the sloping staircase.
A quick visit as it was extremely hot and very busy. Travelled on the train from Florence, an hour on the Trenitalia express. Approx. £65 return for 4 of us.
Walked from the railway station straight to the area, about 20 minutes...easy route! Didn't go inside any of the buildings but would recommend buying tickets before you travel.

This is an iconic tower. The tilt is only 4 degree but very very visible. A must see when you are in the Tuscany region. We did a day trip from Florence. The journey to & fro was very comfortable in the train, we booked the tickets just 2 days in advance. Do book the tickets for going inside the tower in advance too. Yes, you can walk up the tower right to the top and treat yourself to some mesmerising views! You'll feel the tilt even while walking up, don't miss this experience!
Remember, they don't allow you to take anything inside, even big purses are not allowed. Avail the free locker facility to keep your belongings but you'll need to budget time for this.
The Cathedral here is also very beautiful, you can buy a combo ticket which includes this.

Foro di Augusto is a place that can confuse you. If you're not an expert, you don't really know what goes into this space. There are signs and boards, so that you are not alone in your research. But there's a lot to look at, so at 41° degrees you probably miss a lot of sights. It was my fourth time, but I'll probably have to come again.
It's a beautiful spot to see and take pictures. Located in the middle of the town, the route leads you through romantic and picturesque alleys and street. It's definitely worth a stop-over break if you pass nearby. I enjoyed seeing the tower and eating lovely food, but I wouldn't arrive here as my only holiday destination place. It's also amazingly crowded in the summer season. Heat was unbelievable 🔥, remember to take plenty of water 💧 Other places you could have seen before for free are at the charge in 2023- museum or Gardens

Wow! What a site to see Michelangelo's work in action. The bronze wolf with Remus and Romus right next to the square was so unique. The views up and down the steps to the square were very impressive as well.

Frankly speaking, I don't think it's worth spending your time and money to visit place. The chapel is beautiful, yes, but everything else is not really that good. Also, note that you have to pay here for toilet... after purchasing an expensive ticket! I don't understand that. So, the next time I would just probably go to some beautiful church in the city instead of the palace.

Nice spot in the middle of the park.
Sunbath, eat lunch, chill, relax, seek shadow, walk the dog....
We recently had the privilege of visiting the iconic Learning Tower of Pisa, and I must say, it exceeded every expectation I had. This architectural masterpiece truly lives up to its reputation as one of the world's most renowned landmarks.

The interior of the Learning Tower of Pisa is equally impressive. As I ascended the spiral staircase, the sense of history and wonder deepened with every step. The views from the top are nothing short of breathtaking. The panoramic vistas of the surrounding cityscape are amazing and offer a unique perspective on Pisa's rich heritage.

What truly stood out to us was the genuine warmth and friendliness of the staff. Their enthusiasm for sharing the tower's history and significance added an extra layer of enjoyment to my visit. It's evident that they take great pride in preserving this cultural treasure and in making every visitor's experience unforgettable.

The city is historically linked to commercial and banking activities, having been a major banking center until the 13th and 14th centuries.Siena is also home to the oldest bank in the world, the Monte dei Paschi bank, which has been operating continuously since 1472 (551 years ago).[7] Several significant Renaissance painters were born and worked in Siena, among them Duccio, Ambrogio Lorenzetti, Simone Martini and Sassetta, and influenced the course of Italian and European art.[8][9] The University of Siena, originally called Studium Senese, was founded in 1240, making it one of the oldest universities in continuous operation in the world.

Siena was one of the most important cities in medieval Europe, and its historic centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which contains several buildings from the 13th and 14th centuries. The city is famous for its cuisine, art, museums, medieval cityscape and the Palio, a horse race held twice a year in Piazza del Campo.

All these mega-historical, ancient forums of Rome are shocking with their grandeur. Yes, they are basically turned into ruins, but when you come close, stare and look around, the imagination very quickly restores this couple of hundred square meters in front of the mind's eye, restores it the way we always imagined such places. That is, bewitching, majestic and beautiful with classical buildings.

Absolutely loved this, regardless of the walk to the top which nearly killed us 😂

The view is spectacular when you eventually get there and thankfully we managed to avoid the crowds so got some great pics.

As a Spartacus fan, to see the houses of Flavia and Augustus plus their training area was fascinating.

The Roman forum is informative and allow at least 3 hours to see everything there.

Plus, is free drinking water fountains spread out across the hill, needed if visiting in the summer.
Nice building with a museum inside with lots of frescos and religious art pieces. We bought the pass with Torre Mangia climbing, this museum and another one for €20. Clean toilets and no crowds inside.
Beautiful piazza, one of the places to Put on your " go to" list if you plan to visit Verona. Not that much People comparing to similar cities in Italy

This place is amazing! As a self proclaimed history nerd this was a bucket list item checked off. I highly recommend going with part of an organized tour of you don't know how the lines work. We saved waiting through a line that was thousands of people long. We would have been there for hours just to get in without and the tour itself was enjoyable. After the tour we just stayed inside and explored. Wear good walking shoes. It is lots of walking on uneven ground and lots of stairs.

The palatine Chapel is world class, the rest is pretty nice but not quite up there. Kinda sad I was not invited to the rotary club event as the food looked very good. Buy tickets in advance as the queue is long and slow. Contrary to popular belief you cannot buy separate tickets for different areas.

Nice plaza in Verona, close to "Juliet's balcony". In the center you have a lot of shops selling street food and fruits as well as lots of souvenirs. There's several restaurants too.
There's a bone from a whale hanging in one of the arches, according to the story it's been there several years, no one knows who put it up there but the people of Verona are superstitious about removing it.

Included in ticket to see Roman Forum and Pallentine Hill (we skipped the crowded Collessium). The ticket office here at Trajan Forum had no queue and didn't charge us a convenience fee like the online website would have. A route with marker signs leads you through to the Senate building and Roman forums after a walk through the basements of historic 16th century houses demolished by a fascist to create a road.

This was our 2nd trip to the Forum & it was to see the newly uncovered ruins of the Fora of Augustus & Trajan and related ruins opposite the Forum of Caesar west of the main road above.
The new area is historically called the Alessandrino Quarter, and recently it's yielded many large finds that demonstrate how much further these forums reached than we previously knew. (I'll include pics, since there are too many things to describe.)

Access to this portion is through a tunnel & raised walkways under the Via Dei Fori Imperiali from the Forum side that we all know. Previously we could all see some of this from street level above - but now you're right down in it & can touch some of it as you pass by. (The new views of the flooring are impressive alone.)
We bought the "Forum Pass Super Pren" for about 17 Euros each, so we could have the most access - which did work out since we could see the 'Super Sites' for free. Research these tickets online; the pickup site was at the Touristation in Piazza Venezia so that made it convenient too.

Had a great time at the Museum. Waited a bit in line. I would recommend getting the Rome Pass to avoid. Unfortunately the restaurant on the roof was closed when we went, but we still got to go o. The roof and see the incredible view of the city. The collection inside was beautiful. I loved the equestrian statute and the foundation of the temple of juno.

Palatine Hill contains gardens and buildings. It has wonderful views, particularly of the Forum.
There are toilets available.
You can enter this area at any time using your ticket.
Some of the buildings can only be entered if you have the right ticket. I had the basic one, which did not allow me entry.
Entry tickets must be pre-bought. They are not sold on site. Tickets also give you access to the Colosseum and the Forum.
The hill is not easy for people using a wheelchair or with walking difficulties. Most of the paths are uneven. There is a disabled ramp lower down the hill and a few even paths in that area, but it is definitely not fully accessible.

Beautiful Piazza- lots of restaurants to eat nearby- parallel street has great shops if u want to shop- amazing views of the city. Great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
Maestose e evidenti all'interno del luogo.
In the heart of the city of Rome, close to other great attractions like the Collessiom. You can walk and take photos and enjoy a cup of coffee or nice meal in the area.
Unbelievable architecture! Just found out it was built in 2 b.c. year, or in 5509 year. This is amazing, a true beauty. Impressed how humans could build such enormous buildings so many years ago. Best photos: during the day and at night (check my images). Plan your sightseeing so that you will start from the Forum, then Colosseum, Palatine Hill and closing with Capitoline Hill. 💛
This is another Ancient iconic Roman building in the City of Rome known as the Pantheon...The first thing that you see as you approach are the magnificent Columns that support the roof to the entrance...Back in Ancient Rome it was a temple of worship,it is now used as a Catholic Church..It stands on an earlier temple site 27AD -14AD then it was rebuilt by emperor Hadrian around 126-AD...It is an amazing place to see which is so well preserved it has a huge dome roof,on entering the atmosphere is unbelievable you can imagine all the ancient Romans & the sound of prayers echoing throughout its walls...We love Rome with all it’s beautiful ancient Architecture it is well worth a visit to this magnificent City....❤️ 👍
The italians have done a wonderful job of preserving their cultural heritage sites, and this is a wonderful example of a well restored and preserved site which everyone can admire, even when simply driving on the Via dei Fori Imperiali. Of course, the Fori Imperiali (Roman Forum) just accross the street as well as the nearby Palatine Hill and Collosseum are must-see, do take the time to swing by the Forum of Augustus for a quick look. It's also beautifully illuminated at night!

This place is wonderful outdoor museum. Rome is a fascinating place. When I hear the famous saying, "All the roads lead to Rome," walking the streets of Rome I know why. Palatine Hill is one of the places that delight visitors, and justifying the famous saying. Lovers of history and ancient architecture here can enjoy. Palatin (lat. Mons Palatinus), is one of the seven hills on which ancient Rome was built. In the era of the Republic Palatin was a fancy city district with houses of prominent citizens and politicians. In the imperial period residences there have built their palaces emperors Augustus, Domitian, Tiberius, Septimius Severus. The temples were richly decorated with sculptures, and enriched with beautiful gardens. Among them stood out palace Apollo Palatin. According to Roman mythology, at this location were found Romul and Rem who later founded the city. Today Palatin Hill is a huge outdoor museum. And a wonderful place to relax and visit the beautiful antique remains.
Attualmente è all'interno di proprietà private.
Interesting ruins, it’s just a shame there are barriers up all around it and limited signage.

That said, it’s only a couple of minutes walk from the Colosseum so it’s worth checking out if your in the area.

Borghese gardens is the central park of Rome, and this area is the most... park-like. Geese, ducks and turtles frolic in a small pool where for 6 euros you can rent a row boat.

A little romantic, a little playful, and a little quiet in the busy "eternal city". Stop here with children to let them run or with a significant other to have a moment to yourselves.

Just make sure you go to the restroom first. The nearest ones are a little far away... so plan ahead. Snack carts are closer, so picnics need not be set up ahead of time.

We visited in October 2017. Good museum inside and a wonderful view from the top across Sienna. You have to get up a tall winding tower to get there and sometimes this is closed but luckily open when we visited. Well maintained for a building from 1297. 9 Euros to enter but totally worth it.

Pay to join an organized tour. You will skip the long line to enter and learn about what you will see hopefully from a good quality guide. Most guide services with supply a radio to hear your guide with a set of disposable earphones so you have a more hygienic tour. You will go through a metal detector so plan for it.
The tour should include the Colosseum and Palatine Hill which is a 5 minute walk from the Colosseum exit. These ruins are amazing to see making for a fantastic several hours.

One of several attractions at the Villa Borghese gardens; Piazza Siena still hosts equestrian events from time to time.

It makes me so happy to see grand parks like these being preserved in a city as large as Rome. Worth a whole day's walkabout - pack a lunch box!
Located on the opposite side of the Foro Romano, this Foro is not so large, but very impressive too. You don't have to pay to visit it from the balcony on the avenue. At night the place is iluminated and very beautiful to see. Its columns and central building are quite well preserved (remember it's age and what it endured since its construction) and impressive.

I stayed down the road from this ruin. The lights at night illuminate the whole place, and I think there is a laser show at times. Most of it looked like they were doing some preservation to it on the back side of it near the Forum Hotel. One side has some bleachers so you can see and look at it.
It is a large section of a city block, and to walk all the way around it will take about 15 mins. It was built to honor Mars and I believe the Romans met here before battle.

Great place to come for a run! What a green oasis in the big busy city. You barely hear any cars here. Very peaceful. Lots of people walking, running, walking dogs, etc.
