So many good places to eat here, Long Beach is up there with Jalan Alor for quality and price. Best black pepper crabs, incredible curries, perfect chicken wings, a table service bar that somehow manages to keep every glass in sight full at all times, and still it's a challenge to blow your budget. Every time I've come here over the last 15 years I leave looking like I'm 6 months pregnant. Just flawless.

The squid was RM45, lady fingers more than squid and this dish made me diarrhea the next day. Squid was tasteless and soggy. Grilled fish wasn’t good too, was rubbery. Fried oyster was salty and oysters weren’t fresh at all. Fried tomyam noodle was sweet. Overall, it was bad. Please do not eat here, save your money and eat elsewhere.
RM56 for the following:
Two bowls of 和记pork noodles - RM30
Four half boiled eggs )
One cup each of kopi-o and teh ) RM16.50
Two pieces of kaya toast )
One plate of yong tau foo with one chee cheong fun - RM10

Overrated pork noodles plus overpriced.

I think this is daylight robbery for breakfast.
Nice coffee shop with several options. We wanted an early morning breakfast before our bus and the place was already bustling with customers at 7:15AM.

We ordered the following :

1) Lor Mee - Excellent luscious lor mee. Thick gravy that didn't peter out till the end. Nice noodles. Good smattering of garlic and ingredients.

2) Koay Teow Thng - Nice soothing soup with soft koay teow. Comes with fishball, pork liver and some nice chilli to mix it all in.

It's a food court, selling chinese hawker food. It have a Malay Mee Udang stall n a thai food stall also. Food taste ok n acceptable. Good for surrounding hotel guest to eat without travel to Tanjong Bunga or Gurney Drive to hunt for food.
One of the better Hokkien Mee in Penang .. come early before 930am.

Old school kopitiam in Bintang area in KL. Came here at mid-day for brunch. Luckily, less crowd and hence we got a table and almost no waiting time.

Staff is kind and helped set up a table for us. We ordered the following -

1) Pork ball noodle - Apparently, the star of this kopitiam and my first time trying this dish. Haven’t found a similar equivalent in Singapore. Uncle prepared the dish fresh - all ingredients were crunchy and great bite. Not overly spicy, nice noodles. Contains minced pork, sliced pork, spring onions, shallots. Pork balls were soft and bouncy. Robust soup.

2) Wat Dan hor - A rendition of Ipoh Hor fun, with prawns and fishcake. Nice soft and soothing. Noodles were nice. Add chilli to spice up the dish.

3) Kopi-c - nice cuppa coffee.

Shiok!
Big food court~
Variety hawker foods~

The lobak is crispy, but I disagree with it being the best lobak. Firstly, the ingredient is just average, the sweet sauce overly starchy and it is rather pricey.
The ambra drink was lousy and expensive.
Breakfast at Restoran Win Heng Seng on the 6/9/2023 - Wednesday. This Restoran has been over 50 years in Jakan Imbi. The stalls in this Restoran were also over 50 years. Managed by children and grandchildren. The food was astonishing & superb. The service was still good, friendly, and no rushing. Served on time. And the nasi lemak stall over this Win Heng Seng has been over 50 years. The nasi lemak and their sambal was still the upkeepimg quality. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The cafe located in the heart of the town. Feels like good old days joint. Tried the nasi lemak, awesome and delicious. The wantan mee not as expected and it was a disappointment. Drinks are good. Price is lesser than average. Will come again.
The curry chee chun feng was good for the first few bites. Then, the curry became watery at the bottom. The Hainan tea was too sweet for me. I prefer the claypot Hainan tea at Lintang 183. The staff were "keen" asking if you want this or that and came quick for collecting your money once your food and drink arrived.
We are here almost every night of our one week stay in Bath Ferringhi. There’s enough options to try a different place each time if you want. The roti and dahl is incredible, and comes served in a clay pot. The assam laksa is one of the best I’ve had in all of Malaysia. Dumplings were also a highlight. Plenty of juice options as well as tiger beer if you want. After 8pm there is definitely more atmosphere, and you can wander the night markets next door before or after dinner.

My Aug ‘23 Market Visit (Penang). My First To Penang Since 2019 After Our MY Government Declare The Pandemic 🦠 Have Over.
Old School, Nice And Clean Environment 👍🏻.
Overall - Wan Tan Mee (Is So Tasty, Flavourful And Full With The Pork Lard Fragrance. Noodles Have Fully Absorbed With The Soya Sauces).
Lam Mee (Bee Hoon & Yellow Mee Is Just Nicely Blanched. The Chili Sauce & Garlic Sauce Is Mixed Perfectly With The Lam Mee Gravy 🍜).
Kopi O (Kosong) Black Coffee Without Sugar ☕️ - The Amount Of Coffee Powder Mixed With Hot Water = A Prefect Glass Of Kopi O ☕️

Typical Penang style kopitiam (coffee shop).
It sells various peranakan style food and beverage. The half boiled egg and toast bread is a must try. Beside it, they also serve char koay teow, nasi lemak, etc.
Usually crowded and full, so should wait for seating
Very busy cafe with lots of local options. Typical street food ambiance. Lots of locals and foreigners dining here. The food is served quickly. You pay upon receiving your food at your table. Seems like a place for a quick stop for lunch and not a place to linger or chat for a long time.

Stunning food market with so many food stalls and each have their own style and attitude.
Clean and properly nice arrangement with the Malay halal and Chinese sections.
Mouth watering varieties mixed rice and nasi kandar.
All I could say is, too many choices too little time I only have come back for short visit, if not I will defo tried all, and I mean it, all of the food on each stall.
Sunshine square is just opposite there is plenty to do after a large satisfying meal in the food court.

This place offers a vintage look with a few stalls available - wantan mee, lor bak, char kuey tiaw etc. Tried the wantanmee and it has mushroom, quite a surprise!

The drinks are somehow disappointing. The chambing (ices coffee mixed tea) is pretty much tasteless and the iced tea is just too sweet.

Parking could be a problem especially during peak hours.

Suggested by my uncle, who claims their prawn mee surpasses what we have back home. At 9 am, the stall appeared shut, but it was operational, so appearances can be deceiving! Opting for the dry prawn noodles, the portion was modest yet satisfying, and the flavor was rich. While I wouldn't assert it's superior to our local choice, I'd say it's on par!
Nice, clean & airy kopi tiam offering hawker food like herbal duck/chicken noodles, century egg porridge, beef koay teow, & local favourites like wan tan mi, char koay teow & economy rice.
The herbal chicken noodles is fragrant & tasty while the koay teow soup is comparable to some famous stalls.
The lor mee here is quite popular & comes with quite a lot of ingredients.
The coffeshop occupies several shopunits on the ground floor of a block of flats with ample parking.

Arrived at 4.30am and there are lots of people seated and enjoying their drinks and numbered of fresh coconut was served too.

Had dry pork noodle, yummy! (RM9)
Boiled herbal tea] dried longan+etc.
] is yummy too. (RM3.50)

Didn't expect quality food and drinks.
There's also patrons having CKT at 5am 😅

If you're looking for an affordable Chinese Malaysian meal, you have come to the right place. Located just a few minutes walk from Fahrenheit Bukit Bintang, they serve traditional coffee and good roast pork, char siew pork, and noodles. Don't expect high end place to hang out, just for no-frills, non-halal food.

A one stop shop of goodness in my opinion, this place has a lot of great food from chicken rice to Lor back to Hokkien mee. Just be sure to get there before or after the lunch crowd. Highly recommend checking this place out as it’s sure to check many of your Penang food boxes
Favourite 'sam gan zhong' pork noodle in KL.
Soup and dry version are super delicious.
Luxury amount of minced pork and crunchy pork intestine.

Now they have a new food which is deep fried pork ball in soup. Different texture after deep fried.

However, the drink in this coffee shop is normal for me.

Had a good Saturday breakfast with friends here. The hainan kopi ice was exactly how I like them. Roti steam is good, but it was RM3 per set (refer to picture attached), maybe because of the good size butter, not complaining though I liked it very much. And finally wan tan mee, gets quite close to the authentic taste and most importantly the wantan soup wasn't bland.
Zhu char (chinese wok) was ok. Some dishes was excellent but some was below par. Green dragon vege was done pretty good (3 stars). Double boiled soup of bitter gourd also delicious (3 stars). Belacan chicken was outstanding with every angle was fried very well and inner fresh still juicy (4 stars). Hakka pork was poorly done which was over fried (2 stars). Hot plate toufu was too salty especially the egg portion that sticked to the hot plate (1 stars)

Char hor fun by white hair apprentice was terrible. Vermicelli was soaked too long in tap water and overfried as well and as a result it sticked together. Secondly, too much of charcoal fire smoke penetrated in the noodle and as a result too much smoke taste in the noodle. An excellent fried hor fun should be with wok hei and chnnel out the smoke but this stall was done the other way round, lack of wok hei with over smoke taste. Thirdly, the chili given was nit appropriate. Red chili sauce was given not the ordinary green chili cut. Waiting time was 30 minutes upon ordering even though the waiter initially told me was 1 hour wait time. RM6 per serving. 1 star
Nice environment and many choices of hawker foods , alot of parking, very convenient

Had to try the famed lor bak place when in Penang. When we we there, we ordered the wan ton mee (dumplings with noodles) and hokkien mee (prawn noodles).

The lor bak tasted more like shrimp than pork to me. But I find it to be quite ok still. Not sure if they were out of tofu or they don't have it at all. Another item to look out for is the shrimp crackers. The wan ton noodles were pretty standard. The hokkien noodles were da bomb tho. Pretty happy to have come across this shop.

The coffee shop is located at a corner of a street. Parking enforcement is pretty strict though, so you'd might want to consider parking at a proper place. Also seating is pretty limited, so you might have to share a table with someone. Overall this little collection of a few hawker stalls should be enough to keep one happy.

Love the bakuteh.. even tastier than the one we had in Chinatown.

We stumbled upon this place while in search for dinner and it did not disappoint!!! Tried food from different stalls and each dish was very yummy. My favourite is the Boiled Octopus with Garlic from a stall right inside the whole stretch. Owner were humble and friendly and both their kids were helping out at the stall too. The octopus was juicy and tasty. Totally enjoyed the flavour. We also had flower crab and sting ray from the corner stall, friend Ta Lu Mian and a BBQ chicken drumstick. So stuffed and satisfied!
We ordered 猪肉粉 and 酿豆腐猪肠粉. Food arrived quickly and taste was good! Seats at the coffee shop are limited, so do avoid peak hours. However, the turnover is quite fast. So if you have time to wait for seats, it is worth giving it a try!

Located at a corner of a junction, with quite a few options to chose from. From rice to noodles to toast and soft boil eggs. Most of the food we had were quite decent. I had the curry chicken noodles and it was flavorful and rich.

A surprise find while looking for food.
Variety of food choices.
Malay, chinese, indian crusine.
More food stall during morning and afternoon session.
Mind to choose seating area in charge by your preference beverage stall🌟
Nice cup of tea. Good wanton Mee order extra char siu and that was homemade Smokey and charred. Highlight of the dish (The ‘normal was the orange dyed char siu) A little too much black sauce for me. Noodles were cooked well- still QQ But ok for first breakfast
This is a hawker stall center for students and budget food hunter. Quite a variety of options and some of them are surprisingly good despite the friendly price. Those who like "pasar malam" style will love it here for daily eatery, they opened everyday and at the same spot unlike "pasar malam".

The place was located nearby workers' hostel and student dormitory so expect a lot of people coming here during certain times. Depends on the stall, popular and good one will always went out of stock early so come early to enjoy the best experience.
An unassuming coffee shops where the locals fill their tummies. Seats are very limited and it will be hot and humid. It is meant for a quick meal and coffee to kick off your day. We had loh Mee, Hokkien Mee and wanton Mee here and they all were great. I liked the Penang Hokkien Mee with it's robust soup base. The loh Mee is also slightly different than what you have in Johor or SG. Service is very fast here, you'll get your food within 5 mins upon placing your orders on a weekday. Coffee is you local kopi with a slight sour aftertaste. Be quick with your meal too as there will be plenty of locals waiting behind you so that they can grab a meal and start their day.

Helpful service staff and very organised - the Hainan Tea (both hot and cold) is equally good (it's basically a blend of local coffee and tea with milk)

Half boiled eggs are done nicely and you can see the orange yolks clearly - last by not least, the kaya butter toast is very crispy and they are generous with the butter

Saw a steady queue at the Curry Cher Cheong Fun - will try it through next time :)

p.s. Closed on every Monday

Famous Pork Noodle in Pudu, need to wait one hour. Pork intestines, minced pork, sliced pork, pork lards, Chinese cabbage (not much people use this) and pork blood cubes :). One of the best pork noodle in Klang Valley but challenge is to wait, especially Pudu got so many good food. Their YongTauFoo ok too.
Tried the hawker Chu Char, food is good and the price is reasonable. Small local coffee shop, it open from morning till evening.
This shop chuchar attitude very bad!We waiting more than 1.5hour afterthat they said this food sold out already! What is the point we waiting???And never said sorry!!!
This is my usual breakfast at Ah Weng Koh in early morning before heading to work. The teh-c kosong and Hainan teh give a pleasant and distinctive taste that you would want to crave for an additional cup. One shouldn't miss the baked and steamed buns zigicha. For me i very much like to self spread the butter and kaya.
Of course, there are food stalls within which serve variety of foods to fulfill your morning breakfast.
Occasionally, I do order extra cup of drink Cham-C Kosong. Try. Nice.
A coffee shop that has been operating for years and it is always busy, as it is not only patronised by locals but also tourists.
The indoor seating was a bit warm and stuffy.

The wanton mee was delicious. Pork noodle (RM15) also not bad.

Ah Weng Koh Hainan Tea is one of the best coffee in Pudu, originally located at old imbi morning market and relocated to ICC Pudu recent years ago. Although is good but I felt the level of kaw not as kaw as imbi's maybe I missed old days. And ICC ventilation not so good, hot when crowded with people, uneasy feeling to enjoy the coffee. It's toasted bread and bun were good. Lots of nice food swifted to here too, CheeCheongFun, Popiah, NasiLemakBabi, YongTauFoo and others.

Fantastic open-air hawker centre. Great selection of reasonably priced food that is DELICIOUS. Staff are passionate about their food. Wonderful range of drinks. The drinks boss is a great character. Would fully recommend.
You should try their Hainan tea. Many cafe sell Hainan tea, but theirs are silky smooth. The sweetness & tea flavour are well balanced. This takes a lot of experience to make it perfect.

Stayed at Golden Sand hotel and did not want to drive to George Town for dinner so we came here, about 5-min walking distance. We ordered from different vendors and ate together. The food was ok, but the lady who sold drinks talked to us in a rude and loud tone that no outside drinks were allowed, so we had to order some drinks. After we went back to the hotel, my husband had bad stomach and even vomited and had diarrheas and vomited at least 4 times in the middle of the night, apparently it was food poisoned. The next day we asked friends who shared the food with us, they were all ok but the only thing they did not eat was chicken curry that my husband ate the whole thing, and later on my husband said the chicken curry did taste little bit funny… oh well, it was our first dinner in our holiday, holiday spoiled.

The coffee shop lady boss is very alert and attentive. I ordered kpoi C kosong but it came with sugar. The lady boss noticed my expression when I tasted the coffee and immediately came over to ask me. She had it changed instantaneously.

Tried the wanton noodle. The noodle is ok but the sauce a little bitter. The char-siew is a little tough but if added a little fried crispy lard would make some difference. The wanton soup is good. Very strong taste of ikan bilis. A wide variety of sui-kow, siew-yoke and some other add-ons to choose too.

Nice place if you walking to loong time near PUDU area and want a pit stop.
I found the food to be average. While it wasn't terrible, it wasn't anything special either.
Char kuey teow: taste was nice but kuey teow can be better if softer
Roti: nothing special
Mee Goreng: service was friendly and prompt. The food wasn’t outstanding but big portion, worth with the price

Parking: limited
Very complete! You can try many chinese food here. There are also traditional market here.

A good variety of local breakfast food!

Char Koay Teow - This was alright.

Loh Mee - It’s my first time having loh mee in Penang, not sure if their version is supposed to be less vinegary and garlicky but I like it! Almost every table had a bowl of this!

Koay Teow Th’ng - How can we forget KTT right, it’s one of the more highly reviewed items at this coffeeshop too! We have been eating KTT every day since the start of the trip 😆

This was our favourite breakfast dish, KTT in Penang just hits different. So flavourful yet not too oily 🙂 The fried shallots/garlics were a nice touch!

Wan Tan Mee - Finally a better wan tan mee here. Not too bad.

Good hawker center but there’s relatively limited choices. Not all the stalls open at 6pm. Ben’s Teppanyaki coconut ice cream looks good. Satay wasn’t great - didn’t even come with rice cubes either.
The place is clean & quite comfy. Came here around 10.30am. Quite a lot of food choices. There's hokkein mee, loh mee, curry mee, chee cheong fun, chai kuih, jawa mee, koay teow thng, herbal noodle, economy rice, char koay teow, western breakfast, porridge, wan tan mee & a few more. The coffee is quite good. The food we tried were decent.

There's chu char & char hor fun in the evening. Chu char is quite nice & the char hor fun is super popular. Long wait. Usually when I tapau, i'd call at least 3 hours before to order. Though famous, the quality & taste no longer as good now.

The only issue is it's quite hard to get parking cos the coffee shop is at a flat. You can park somewhere opposite & walk over. Or double park in front, they'll call out your car plate no. if they need you to move your car.

The size in the picture is medium, which I found a bit large for lunch, especially that the dish is greasy (not in a bad way).

I loved the oyster omelette, it was definitely special. I wish the chilli dip was bigger.
Can try this duck meat koay teow ting

Today 15/7 I came here to try chu char. The food ingredients are not less than other places. And it is worth trying. But the curry Indonesia fish is not so curry n spicy. The total I paid RM67 for this dinner.

Typical Penang local coffee shop with hawker stalls. Great place for tourists to experience old days of Penangites. Food ratings by the sequence of my personal preference Half boiled eggs on toast, Oysters omelette, Lor Mee, wan ton Mee, char Koay teow. I didn't try the Koay teow thing..so, not in the list but it's famous too. Looking for a table can be a challenge during peak hours and the same for carpark.
Had mee goreng during lunch time, and recently tried the chu char at night. The dishes are somehow with pretty traditional flavour. Nice!
This was my favourite lunch joint when I was working in Penang 23 years ago. Huge "spoilt for choice" food court with plenty of varieties...Chinese, Indian and Malay food. Some stalls are open only for breakfast. Very spacious dining area and very high ceiling with good ventilation. Nicely renovated toilets and well maintained.
The oysters omelette from stall no. 32 is a "die die must try". I opted for a medium size portion...Rm16. This is not the crispy version but very delicious. The big oysters were fresh, plump, juicy and lovely with the spicy chili sauce. Worth the 25 mins wait.
The pasembur was as good as ever. Mixture of thick spicy sauces. I didn't want to queue for the mee goreng sotong which obviously still very popular.
Fried koay teow was yummy as well except it was without the Chinese sausages. Perfectly fried and the bean sprouts were still crunchy.
Lobak was okay. Sauce was a bit diluted.
Unfortunately my fav dessert...apom from an Indian shop was closed.
I have always recommended this food court to my outstation and oversea friends. Still the right choice if you are at this side of the island.

Not too busy on an early Sunday morning around 7.15am where not many eating places are opened, we ate here.
Only two stalls opened at this early hour. We ordered the YTF & CKT. Both were good & large portion. Prices reasonable. The plate of CKT was full of wok hei & had lap cheong, fish cake, siham, & two prawns - considered generous in today’s rising prices. At Rm8 I find it good value. The ytf were huge and at Rm1.70 was good value & importantly tasted good. Highly recommended 👍🏻
One of the island's biggest food courts with multiple drinks & hawker stalls selling Chinese, Indian, Malay & even Thai food. Usually crowded in the morning & lunchtime with the factory crowd.
Diners are spoilt for choice when it comes to local favourites. There are several stalls just selling chicken or duck rice, wantan mi, economy rice & koay teow soup.
Among the popular food here are the curry mee, chee cheong fun, koay teow soup, wantan mee & fried oyster omelette which comes with a generous portion of big oysters.

This is one of the best Tai Chow I have eaten in Penang.

The Fresh Kerapu Fish Head was thumbs up. Fresh seafood and with Penang famous aromatic curry and spice mix, the pot was a winner.

The Salted Chicken did not have a robust taste like those in Ipoh but this is different. It was meaty, the skin had a light crisp and an appetizing inviting taste.

The Runny Egg Bitter Gourd is quite peculiar in Penang's Tai Chow. It was an organized mess the mixed eggs that swirled around the green bittergourd. The taste was excellent.
Great dinner place which penang call chu char, is a different operator at night compared to the day. You can order dishes to be accompanied by rice. Hearty local food pleasant taste

Tried the curry noodles with poached chicken & fresh cockles. Not too bad.Ingredients fresh & flavour on point. Nice neighbourhood to explore. Shall b back!!!
Location
Yes is the city centre and tourist spot also.
Parking
Advice to come early and plan your itinerary and best to skip if can from driving since all with walking distance. Make find parking not an issue.
Food
The loh mee is very nice. The gravy or soup is thick and we'll blend with the noodle. Can try for second time also.
Ample space for dinners. Only choices of food were not there. It's got a very well maintained washrooms. We had economy rice and this particular variety was ubiquitous. For the locals, rice is still the choice. This stall gave free soup which was enriched with tonnes of msg. But I still swallowed half a bowl. Sorry for such bad etiquette. Well, the truth of what I did.
Came on public holiday -morning about 9am. Very crowded, full house which u need to spot and wait for the table by yourself.

We had chicken rice, roasted pork, fish head bihun, beef noodle soup, fried kway teow, pan mee. Overall food were good. Beef noodle soup was more on the sweet side which was not really our taste but the beef ball is chewy 👍.
Chicken rice was good and it came with radish soup (which is very good, not salty, radish was soft and juicy). Chicken gravy taste good.
Fish head bihun (clear soup without deep fried the meat) -the soup was very flavourful with a taste of some cooking wine. Fish was fresh too!
We were tempted to order the chicken slice horfun but the waiting list was long so we cancelled our mind.
Do check out this pork noodle stall if you're still strolling around Pudu hunting for food. Why no actual "noodle-in-the-bowl" photo, you may ask. Well, you don't need one. What you see is what you get, and more. Perfect combination of all ingredients - fresh, tasty and most importantly, authentic!
Clean environment and tasty local food.
Hokkien Mee is good and
Char Koay Teow is bit too salty.
Good local eateries. We had the pork and chicken mixed rice, and a bowl of vermicelli with Chinese sausages and fish meatballs. Tasty and delicious. Real local taste.

KL style noodle (tai lok mee) was below par. Lack of wok hei and sauce was too sweet. The only strength was the crispy pork lard but this cannot overcome the taste noodle. 2 stars

Fried koay teow was definitely out. About 10 to 20% was overfried and become crispy abd hard. Never in my gourmet journey in penang char koay teow could make this kind of mistake. The only strength was thec2 large paleawn but it was powerless since the koay teow was too poor. 1 star
