Southwest Cycle is awesome! My daughter and I rented bikes for the day in June 2024. SC outfitted us with beautiful bikes that were perfectly suited for each of us, and set up a rack on our Subaru. Helmets are included with the rentals. (In fact, while we stopped to take pictures on the trail, another visitor, who'd rented bikes from another outfit, commented that our bikes were better than their's.)

We got to SC upon its opening and we were on our way within about 20 minutes. The owner helped us pick the best carriage trail route for our fitness level and find a good parking spot. At his recommendation, we purchased an affordable map that was very useful. We had the bikes all day and into the evening - we were allowed to drop them off after closing (and just lock them to a rack). I really can't imagine a better scenario if you want to enjoy the carriage trails without the hassle of transporting bikes a long distance. I recommend following their instructions on their website to reserve bikes in advance and to make sure your vehicle can use the bike racks - just to make the process is as seamless as possible. Just as stated on the website, the owner called us prior to our trip to confirm the reservation and help pick out the best bikes for us.

rented bikes during our trip in acadia - we wound up biking over 20+ miles through the carriage roads with these bikes and they were fantastic. during the last mile my partner wound up falling and we had to rush him to the emergency room. pedego was so accommodating and came and picked up our bikes from eagle creek. we are so grateful for the rangers and the pedego staff for helping us during our trip to bar harbor!

Went to Bar Harbor looking for a close location that rented E bikes. Was not disappointed. The E bikes were quality, comfortable with a cushy seat and did not have to worry about running out of battery. Staff was so pleasant and even recommended a bike route which was phenomenal. We plan on coming back in the fall for another trip just to utilize these bikes in the wonder that is Acadia. Can't recommend enough.

Awesome place, great staff who were very friendly and knowledgeable about biking on the island. We had a super easy time renting two hybrids to take over to the carriage roads, and the bikes were in great shape and fared well on our day-long journey. Very reasonable pricing and return timing.

This is a great place to get all you need to hit the trails. We usually rent a tagalong for our son to attach to the back of my mountain bike and a mountain bike for my daughter and it’s easy every time. They always have exactly what we need available, even if we don’t get there first thing in the morning! The staff are wonderful, knowledgeable, and quick to help out with whatever we throw at them. Highly recommend!

We booked a mountain bike tour for five and had an awesome time cruising around the Round Valley area! There were many trails that were both fun and challenging for our group. Our guides Lena, Jeff, and Liam were the best! They were able to meet the needs of our group and match the skill level of all of our riders to ensure we had enjoyable ride while also being safe. Not only did they help with tips and tricks on on how to ride well on the trails, they also shared interesting facts about the scenery and wildlife along the trail. They had everything we needed for the trip and would definitely recommend booking with them!

We had an outstanding experience renting bikes from this shop! Mark and Bob could not have been more attentive, warm, and effective at curating, equipping and helping load the perfect bikes for our day-long adventure on the Acadia Carriage Roads. We came for the bikes. We left feeling like we had new friends at the ready to welcome us back for future cycling needs.

Had a full day reservation for two e-bikes and ended up with some unforeseen problems that made me unable to walk. I called the morning of our reservation and asked if there is anyway we could get our money back (the cancellation policy is 48 hours notice). I was not hopeful as I know they probably deal with entitled tourists all too often and we missed the cancellation window. Talked with Sarah who was quick to cancel our reservation with a full refund. Phenomenal customer service. Didn’t end up using the bikes but wanted to leave a review seeing as other reviews historically complained about bad customer service. When we come back and can try again for round two we will most definitely use Pedego!

Real road bikes! Helped me enjoy the bike ride of my life. Called every place on MDI and Bob at Southwest Cycle was the only one who had road bikes. He made a special consideration to fix me up with my bikeon my day off so that I could tackle Cadillac Mountain first thing the next morning. The bike was tuned perfectly and I needed every gear on the climb and loop roads. 100% rent from Bob!

Truly, the best place to rent a bike for cruising the carriage trails in Acadia. I have rented at least three if not, four times from Lucas and Sarah the owners of this small business. First class service and great people.!!! Wicked convenient to downtown

Great experience, rented a gravel bike (I believe Southwest are the only folks offering this style of bike in the area) for a few days of riding the carriage trails in Acadia. Bike was basically new -- I think one person had it before me, but I couldn't tell. Pick up and drop off went off without a hitch, we had a great time, couldn't have been happier with the rental.

We rented 2 bikes (1 gravel, 1 hybrid) to ride in Acadia National Park and were very pleased with our experience at Southwest cycle. The bikes were in excellent mechanical condition, the staff was knowledgeable and helpful. While we were cycling at the park, a park employee remarked to me that I must have rented from Bob. I asked him how he knew and he said "that's a good bike...not everybody around here rents bikes like that!".

We were happy to see there was a PEDEGO dealer in Bar Harbor because we are PEDEGO owners for the last five years. So was great to have the opportunity to ride bikes in Acadia National Park we reserved the bikes two days before we were going to ride the owner of this PEDEGO shop is LUCAS he lived there on Bar Harbor all his life so he is very informative and helpful about things to do and restaurants on the island. We had a great ride through the park and if we ever travel back, we will do it again. I don't think you can't go wrong if you rent PEDEGO's on Bar Harbor.

6 of us rented ebikes and the staff is great, all 2 of them. Very patient with explanations of the ebikes which turned out to be much more fun than I had expected. The Harley Bikes were terrific and after 4 hours of riding and some stop and go still had quite some power left. The seats were also really comfortable. Great experience!

Super helpful shop. Was in the market for a freewheel 6 speed cassette for my vintage bike and they were super helpful in helping me find one and educating me on what I might want for my needs. All for $15. Awesome place great staff

Took my ibis Ripmo here for service as they are one of the few ibis dealers in the Boise area. After calling twice to get updates on the status of my bike as they did not communicate that there were delays in getting parts. I got my bike back after over a week, and have had issues with most of their service work. They missed simple details, like putting caps on cables and my shifter along with it not shifting correctly immediately after getting it serviced(turns out they put the wrong size chain on). I am taking my bike to a different shop to get this all fixed as I don’t trust them after messing up so many repairs which I spend hundreds of dollars on

I had a great experience at Evolve. Staff was very helpful and friendly and got me on my way quick with lots of suggestions and tips. Ebike was in good condition and was fun and easy to ride. Boise is an ideal city to explore and I would highly recommend renting from Evolve!

I had a bike fitting with Antonio Gonzalez. I am racing in a 140.6 tri this summer and wanted to get my setup just right. Antonio is an incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and passionate lover of the sport. I have already benefited in output and comfort in my training and look forward to a follow-up fit next month. Bought my first road bike as to prepare for an Ironman 70.3. If you have any triathlon-related needs, look no further! Staff were great, extremely helpful, and super informative. Helped me get a bike within my budget/wants without any of pushiness/salesman approach that I felt at other stores.

Recently asked the guys at Idaho Mountain Touring to update my shifters/derailleurs on my 28 year old Mt. Bike. Picked it up today, an instantly took it on a 34 mile ride. They completely changed the ride. It had been kinda janky and not fun. Now it shifts like a dream! Great work guys.

This outdoor sports shop is amazing! I was helped by Jerod H. I am a large person who is looking for a bike so I could ride with my daughter. He took the time to compare bikes models, until we found the bike that I needed. I had an idea of what I wanted but he did not try to oversell me. He helped me select accessories, was very informative, and the price on my Trek was very decent. While we were checking out, my daughter mentioned that her bike needed work. Jerod told us to bring her bike in and they would look at it immediately. Fix anything she needed work on or make adjustment so she could ride comfortably.
We went home, grabbed her bike, brought it in and Jerod knew immediately that her old bike was too small for her. He did NOT pressure us into buying her a new bike. My daughter tried to convince him to raise the seat so she could keep it. Jerod raised it and explained why this was not possible the seat was at the farthest setting and posture was going to be a problem. My daughter is autistic so change can be very hard. Jerod was clear about her new need, and she was actually excited to look at a new bike. My daughter absolutely needed everything from her old Bike moved to the new Bike. Jerod said,”no problem!” This shop does it all!
Jerod asked us to bring in anything that we wanted added to the bike and anything we had at home that we wanted to put on our bike. I had a basket for my pup, and we added some other accessories. The shop had my bike Built out of the box and ready with my daughter’s bicycle parts changed out in less than two days.
I love my new Trek it rides smooth the mechanics of the low step in are fantastic for my rebuilt knees! My daughter is so I love with her new bike, she rode 4 times yesterday after we got them home!!
The whole process from shopping, purchase, build, and review before taking our bikes home was smooth. Jerod made feel comfortable and confident in our purchases. I went in looking for one bicycle and ended up buying two. If the store had unfriendly people in it, or if I felt judged I would’ve left and spent a couple thousand dollars elsewhere. Recommend the store highly.

There is so much more than bikes in this store (they have your outdoor needs) and my daughter loves the outdoors so we will be returning to get our products and purchase things from the store because They are wonderful to work with and they do care if you’re getting out and enjoying your life! From start to finish, Molly, Matt and Lena were the best! Lena was an excellent guide. She gave us great insight about the area as well as pointers along the way to make our snowshoeing adventure even better. We will definitely use them in the future.

This is an incredible bike shop. I went in with very little knowledge, only knowing that I was interested in buying a bike.

Conner was super knowledgeable and transparent about what he recommended. He even looked through the store’s system to help me find something more in my price range. He let me do a test ride and walked me through the store to help me find the additional parts I would need (helmet, lock, fender).

I didn’t feel pressured to make any purchases, but did end up walking out with an awesome bike and accessories. I will definitely be coming back for other needs in the future!

This is the best bike shop in town. Knowledgeable mechanics who don't try to get you to spend more than needed but who know how to keep an older bike functioning well. They also know about old and vintage bikes and work thoughtfully to maintain those as well. We have recently had all of our bikes repaired and/or tuned up there, riding one bike in and picking up the finished one. I love this shop.

This place is the real deal! Monk is the best! I purchased a 2017 Road Glide Special from 1500 miles away. Monk answered all my questions, helped to ease my concerns about buying sight unseen and even welcomed a local buddy of mine when he popped in to take a look. Great price, great experience. Highly recommend!

I'll start out by saying that I don't ever write reviews, however, I feel it would be a major disservice if I didn't write a review after tonight's outstanding service received by Antonio.

I came in just before the bike shop was slated to close for the evening. Not only was I met with a smile from the receptionist, I was ushered downstairs and immediately attended to by Antonio. The whole interaction was pleasant and he even let me bend his ear about bike related questions. I walked in feeling anxious that my brand new Canyon bike was out of sorts and left feeling confident that Antonio would not only get me back on the trails, but he would be my go to guy for anything MTB for years to come.

I work in the service industry and cannot tell you how refreshing it is to come across someone like Antonio. I am writing this review before Tri Town has even turned a bolt on my bike knowing that they will deliver. Never underestimate the power of good service!

I had two pairs of my skis tuned up with great service and $$. I had one brand new pair of bindings mounted on new skis, and one older pair of skis tuned up. I won't hesitate to come back. As road construction impacts access to this business in the next year, let's continue to support local!

Walking through the doors of Idaho mountain touring feels friendly and it’s clear everyone there is well informed. It’s easy to get caught up talking to the folks who work there and picking their brains learning about products and places I’ve never known before. There’s a wide variety of merchandise and endless options to choose from. Thankful for this place!

Outstanding bike fitting experience - they converted my carbon gravel into a tri bike with me, adjusted every aspect perfectly to my body; now I have a super comfortable fit for the hours and hours of training ahead. They're superbly smart, professional, and fun-loving. Highly recommend for anyone training to race. They gave me pointers on my riding cadence, training nutrition, and accessories to consider. I recently bought new parts (online) for same price as “re-cycled” one’s being sold. Specifically some Kona pedals, chainring bolts & a freewheel. Miss the pre corona shutdown prices & membership that made cash pricing easy. Still my #1 shop but now I check eBay/Amazon.

We camped in the parking lot for several days through Harvest Hosts. The owners were great and very accommodating. We were not able to take advantage of the bike services they offer, but the shop was extensive with plenty of inventory and parts and service. From speaking with them, they were very knowledgeable and professional. If I lived locally or needed service while traveling in the area. I would certainly use this shop.

I reached out to Antonio and he not only made the whole situation right by being very apologetic, but he offered to pick up my bike took it back to his awesome shop in Hyde Park and had it delivered back to my front porch. We rented bike for a few hours and explored the greenbelt. What a blast! The bikes worked great and we had no issues. The owners were super nice and got the bikes ready for us when we arrived. We would definitely rent here again.

We had so much fun with the e-bikes that we rented last weekend! Heather and her family were easy to communicate and work with, and the bikes at their shop were clean and well-maintained. I would definitely rent from EVolve again :)

Mac Et Al are elite. They’re knowledgeable, kind, go above and beyond. They accept Rainer beer as tips. And you should bring them some. My bike, Dutch, and I go everywhere and I’m so much healthier and happier because I have these pros by my side.

We rented a couple step through style electric bikes. The price was good. The bikes ran great and they were very helpful getting us set up. The store is really close to Anne Morrison Park where we accessed the Greenbelt trail. I’d highly recommend them if you are like me and from out of state and want to experience the beautiful green belt trail. We went about 18 miles and took our time. The four hour rental was sufficient. If I wanted to see more, I would have done a six hour rental or full day.

One of the best things to do in Acadia. We had never ridden E-Bikes before and these did not disappoint. We rode all through the carriage trails and boy did it help going up the mountains. This was by far the best experience we had.

Sadly, the new manager of this family business - Art’s son - does not have the same level of kindness or customer service as his wonderful father, who has just retired. After renting our family dangerously faulty equipment (see below), the manager responded to our polite request for a partial refund by shouting at us and aggressively demanding that we pay for the repairs.

We’ve rented bikes from Art’s for 10+ years. Art is lovely, friendly, and helpful. We always look forward to catching up with him when we rent bikes for the summer. Unfortunately, Art retired last year and his son has taken over the business and we could not have had a more different experience this summer.

My daughter’s family and I rented two bikes + a bike trailer to pull their 3 year old and 1 year old. I was riding with them on the bike path when the derailer on his my son in law’s bike broke and the bike essentially fell apart. Fortunately, neither he nor the children were hurt. This wasn’t the only piece of faulty equipment we were rented, either. The left wheel on the bike trailer was loose and wobbled.

We called Art’s and explained all of these issues and were promised a one-day refund (by Art’s lovely grandson, who also works at the shop) for the broken equipment. When my daughter and I went to return everything, the new owner (Art’s son) got incredibly aggressive and threatening with us, yelling at us and accusing us of having broken the bike, then demanding we pay for the repairs. It was a shocking and scary interaction.

We love supporting family businesses and regret that we will not be supporting this one again.

We booked a fly fishing tour with Wasatch Adventure Guides. Today we went out on a 1/2 day tour. Molly our guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. My daughter and I had a such a fun time. Over the four hour trip we caught 9 trout a combination of rainbow and browns. I am guessing the smallest 16” and up to 20”. The majority 18”-20”. I highly recommend using Wasatch Adv. guides for your next adventure if you are in the Park City area. The booking was easy and as advertised. I will definitely use Wasatch Adventure Guides again.

Very friendly front office staff. Equipment seems well maintained. Clear instructions on where to leave bikes after closing time. Prices were very reasonable and location is very close to the bike trail.

Such an incredible bike shop. Thank you especially to Pat who helped my husband and I coming in with zero experience/knowledge to feeling comfortable, supported and informed by the end of our shopping. He truly knows his stuff and was there for all of our questions and needs. The store has a mix of new and used and allows you to add all the bells in whistles for affordable prices. Great bike shop down by the U district. They have lots in stock from bikes to parts, tools and everything else you’ll need. Took my bike in for a tune up and new tires. Quick turn around with quality results. I totally recommend.

My family has been coming here for several years for all bike related needs, like getting a vintage Specialized bike tuned up and running again as well as purchasing new bikes off the floor and special ordering a bike. I was even able to purchase a very cute basket for my bike! The prices here are fair and the service is unbeatable. If you're biking on Cape Cod, Orleans Cycle is the place to go!

I bought my ebike here after looking at many other bike shops on the Cape and South Shore. I am so glad I did. The friendly and helpful staff explained things well, showed me many options to choose from but did not overwhelm me. I was able to test ride the bikes and narrow down my choice to my best fit for value and comfort. Their prices for the bikes and the gear are very competitive even to online retailers and the service was great. A lot of people ask me about my ebike and I always tell them Buzzard Bay Bikes is the place to go.

Buying from a local shop (vs online) not only helps our local economy, but in my case the service really counts! I only needed a bike bell for biking the canal, but they educated me about a ‘trail bell’ the is so much better! It’s often used on mountain bikes to warn bears of your presence, but it’s great for my road bike, because it makes just enough of a chime to let walkers I’m behind them without startling them or belling them that they need to move (which they don’t)! Local service, relevant local education!

We are from Georgia and wanted to take our kids on a bike ride on the canal. We stumbled upon this bike rental shop, and we are so happy that we did. The team is so kind and helpful. They gave us great tips on the kids’ “tag along” and tandem-style bikes and told us how to find “secret” playgrounds along the route for the kids. The prices are very reasonable, and the location right across the street from the start of the trail is perfect. This is a business that cares for its customers and wants you to have a great Cape experience. I highly recommend!

Got my rode bike serviced and back next day (September). Bike felt great and immediately did a long ride. The young man that serviced my bike was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. This shop is near the north end of the shining sea bike trail and a great shop to get rentals. There was a constant flow of people getting bikes.

I've never been one to write reviews- let alone a "bad" one... because the younger employees are amazing but my God, the older guy who works here was not only in my conversation with my family but was so rude and condescending to me as a person who hasn't been on a bike in a few years. He literally brought me to tears. I ended up NOT riding and my girlfriend and I got refunds from the nice girl at the counter. I saw another review where the "shop" posted that the person had the wrong shop and I can assure you I don't. I do not recommend this place, definitely go across the street to the other bike shop where EVERYONE is personable.

Support local! Been planning to replace our 10 yr old hybrid bikes, when we rode past this shop. Popped in and found they had the inventory to get us on better bikes than we had researched and so many choices for helmets, etc. Thanks to Erin for educating me and to Barry for getting us tuned up, customized, and back on the trail on our new bikes. The 3 hard working young men working the floor and doing tune ups were welcoming.

Awesome experience riding these bikes through Arcadia on the carriage trails! Reserving our bikes was super easy and they answered all our questions before we booked. The bikes are electric assist and really fun to ride. Just start peddling and the bikes electric motor takes off, hills are super easy. I might have to buy one for at home! The morning we picked up our bikes was pretty hectic but went smooth and faster than expected. Customer service was top notch and we really appreciated the quick itinerary laid out on the map. Thanks for a great experience!

Conveniently located inside the Hyatt Centric is their information desk and a friendly employee that is more than happy to explain all the various outdoor activities during your stay. My company used them for about 70 people and they are so well organized and everything was so much fun! From horseback riding, skeet shooting, ATV tours, Olympic Park activities, rafting and kayaking, hiking, fly fishing and mountain biking, you name it and they probably have it. Guides and experienced, fully prepared, very knowledgeable and friendly. Activities for winter and family also. These are photos from an intermediate hike of 2 hours (Rob's Trail).

A local shop I have always been a fan of. These are a great group people to easily become friends with and share some smiles. Always a pleasure stepping in and talking bikes, but yesterday I actually took my dream bike home! Been a long time waiting since I have eyed it out. The people who work at Orleans cycle are very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I drive 20 minutes to take my bikes there for service rather than going somewhere closer to my home. It is located right on the bike path for easy Ride testing. They have a good variety of parts, tools, clothing and accessories.

I stopped in on a busy day in the summer with a flat. I was expecting to leave my bike but someone came out and said they would fix it right away so I could get back on the bike path. It took about 20 minutes and the person gave the bike a check over and tightend the mirror and adjusted the seat. It was a very pleasant experience at a very reasonable cost.

Loved this bike rental shop. Art was very friendly. It is right at the start of the Shining Sea bike path which is beautiful. Will definitely come here again.

I cannot speak highly enough on the service I got from them yesterday. Stopped by to get a rear rack for my bike - their attention to detail, knowledge, even help getting the rack installed was astounding. Whenever I visit cape cod going forwards I am using them for my all my bike needs.

Also witnessed them helping a family rent bikes for the day and saw them pay really close attention to their needs with multiple people rallying to get all the bikes ready quickly.

Great location and Art was fantastic. He helped us get situated and took the time to show us points of interest along the trail on a map he gave us. Would highly recommend!

Walked right in on a Sunday afternoon with 3 other friends to see if they had any last minute rentals. Thankfully they did, I would recommend a reservation in busy season, because it was so much fun.

After a quick lesson, we were handed a map and given recommendations for our journey. Biking from town to Acadia was a breeze! These bikes made the Carriage Roads possible for anyone to enjoy. Our three hour rental took us on a 20 mile tour of the island and all the way to Jordan Pond.

Couldn't recommend more! We did have an issue with a bike at the beginning, but the shop owner and her daughter fixed the issue right away. Great customer service!

Dissatisfied with repair service. I brought my bike in for a tune up and new rear tire. As I wheeled the bike to the car when I picked it up, the rear wheel was bent so much that it was rubbing on the brakes. I brought it back and asked about it and the Repair person said it was just the way the wheel was built and the bike should not be ridden over 12 mph (I ride much faster). When I looked at it at home, a spoke was broken. An obvious problem, the bike was unsafe and the repair person didn’t even look long enough to see the problem. They had no problem charging me for the “service” though.

For what it is worth, I would avoid having work done there on your bike. Rental bikes are probably fine though.

My son's bike seat was loose because the seat post had worn out. Then it fell of his bike on the bike path while we were on vacation in Falmouth. I brought the bike post to Art. He took the time to find the right one - it was used (but in great shape), so it cost us half the normal price. Art threw in a hex key for free when I told him I wasn't sure if I had the right tool to attach the seat to it. Fast, knowledgeable, and helpful guy to have right on the bike path!

Over the years we have not only purchased bicycles but had our bikes serviced at Orleans Cycle while visiting the Cape. Located right on the Rails to Trails bike path in Orleans, they rent, sell and service bikes and everyone who works there is friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. They also sell helmets, some jerseys and other cycling supplies and gadgets.

Not a very friendly place. Cant speak for the bike shop but the owner/ manager of the hardware does not even acknowledge customers, never mind wait on them. This attitude seems to trickle down so you get decent service from some employees and some what less from others.

Art was great. Rented bikes for the whole family for the day, and not only did the bikes work out perfectly, but Art gave us a map with personal highlights to see along the path. Highly recommend!

Outstanding local shop; I've been here multiple times for bike repairs and gear. They are very knowledgeable, as they spend their time on the trails when they aren't working!

They take time with customers, and offer truly great service. My bike has always been fixed on time, to a high level of quality, and for a reasonable price. I hope to buy a new bike from them soon.

I highly recommend this shop for anyone looking to buy or rent gear, take lessons, or get repairs!

These guys are great! Don't even bother going across the street or down the road to the other shops! My family brought our own bikes on vacation but two of them were not up for the amount of biking that we were planning on. We opted to rent two bikes. We walked into Orleans Cycle and we were instantly welcomed and greeted. It was like we've been regulars for years! They took care excellent care of us and set us up quickly. The prices were about average but the customer service was worth 10 times that! Great bike shop with excellent service. They saved out biking vacation!
