Absolutely delicious! We had the Special The Dancing Lobster and this dish alone was mouthwatering. The ginger is cut perfectly so you can enjoy a piece with each bite of lobster. We also had the General Chicken tso it was absolutely delicious, each bite crunchy and bursting with flavor. For sides we ordered House fried rice. This rice is a must it has chicken, shrimp, and beef and is the best rice I’ve had yet. Seating was fast and easy. Service was great especially for the crowd they had.

Wow! Absolutely amazing food and service. All the food are authentic but it is one of the best chinese food I ever had. Price is reasonable, and nice atmosphere. Must place to go in LA area!

Wednesday 1/17/24 Dinner at Delicious Chengdu in Temple City with my friend Jimmy, cousin, and friends. Enjoying seafoods, wine, beers, and whiskey. Delicious seafoods cooked many different ways. Good times in the making!

I recommend trying this restaurant.

Los Angeles Times top 101 restaurants 2024. It is also Michilin Mentioned. 1st time here in this new location. I like the atmosphere here more because it has more booth, unlike the former location which has many big farm style tables . My favorite is their spicy fried chicken nuggets with jalapeño and tins of peppers. The tooth picked lamb has great flavor & spicy but meat wasn’t tender.it was chewy.. kinda disappointing… broil fish in red sauce was delicious! It was tender with some veggies.. done imperfection. The beef Shang was a little disappointing. It was featured in the LA times article.,I felt the meat was not marinate it long enough. I had better version in other restaurants. The biggest disappointment was the soup. It suggest refreshing but tasted weird to my taste. Should I ordered the other soup instead.

Took a long time come take our orders. Every dishes are so salty. How are they still open? Not authentic Chinese food. Salt must have been very cheap so they add more to the dishes. Salty green beans, salty braised pork belly, and the duck sliders were unproportionate.
Taste and Adequate qauntity of Super Taiwanese Food assures that this is always full .Vegetarian option as well as Seafood paradise mini wok made our day special .Thanks .

poor service from beginning to end, told not to come back after our party tipped appropriately. ordered four dishes, and two were definitely unappealing. had to get boba afterward from the aftertaste. not one to usually leave bad reviews unless the experience really warrants it...

I can't recommend anyone to eat here!! It's dirty, unhygienic, dust everywhere, poop stains... I only came here cause there was not much open on Christmas day. There was sick people and kids coughing everywhere, so disgusting 🤢!! The owner and staff need to "CLEAN" no excuses... The food was decent, employees where kind. Unfortunately their restaurant is unclean, and they allow sick people to eat there, putting other's in a unhygienic, toxic environment. I will not report this to human resources/ health department! This is a warning please keep your restaurant CLEAN and don't allow sick people into your restaurant!!!! #disgusting

What a lovely spot for Szechuan and dim sum! Can’t go wrong with the dim sum, but particularly love the steamed pork buns, crystal vegetable dumplings and scallion pancakes! The Szechuan boiled dishes are incredible, the cumin chicken is delicious, and the dry braised dishes! Amazing! The staff are lovely, helpful and kind.

I’ve gone here multiple times and the food is delicious. I’ve had cumin lamb, cabbage and vermicelli (it’s really glass noodles), winter melon and egg soup (it’s actually fried egg and not egg drop), seafood tofu, salt and pepper ribs, and steamed fish (it was drowning in its sauce).

The staff was friendly and great. I will definitely come back here.
The food here is amazing! You can get American Chinese food or authentic. The dishes are fresh and full of flavor. The Hot and Sour soup has nice complex flavors with all the fillers including wood ear mushrooms with just the right amount of heat. Beef Teriyaki is second to none. Crisp edges, juicy, tender and flavorful. Kung Bao Chicken or Beef is absolutely delicious! The beef is a very cool dish the way the beef is shaped like noodles. The Spicy Wood Ear Mushrooms is a cold delicacy. Fish Filets in Black Bean Sauce is cooked perfect. Perfect Dan Dan Noodles. The Tripe and Pigs Blood Stew is fire! I could go on. This place is the real deal for authentic delicious Chinese food!

i love this place, 1st the location is super good, especially when you are exhausted. 2nd, the food is awesome, not sure who gave the low rate. 3rd, the env is also very nice. Not noisy and enough space.
I’ve been to many different restaurants and this is among the best. Every menu item we ordered was full of flavor. Everyone else at the table shared this sentiment.

I loved this place it’s so warm and the food it’s also amazing i don’t know the name of the girl who was taking care of us but i can say it was the best food i ever had, it was also affordable and with 50 buck 3 persons can eat and be full, so i really recommend this restaurant, this is what i ate and omg if you go try it
I do not understand about the great ratings of good food at this place at all!! The dishes tasted bland, just tasted salty with no aroma nor umami. One thing tho, the portion is HUGE with reasonable price, definitely the best place to stuff your face if you do not care about the enjoyment.
About the service, I think the servers hate their job a lot lol! They just do the minimal basic, standing at the back chit-chatting… BUT very efficient at clearing up the table once you had your last bite and toss you the check. Welp, you guys very successful get me out of your place, for good!! 😅

Sichuan Impression, the newest addition to Alhambra’s vibrant culinary scene, has swiftly become a local favorite in the San Gabriel Valley, renowned for its tantalizingly spicy Sichuan cuisine. This sister branch of the famed Century City restaurant has elegantly carved its niche amidst the spicy food landscape dominated by Chengdu Taste and Chengdu Impression. For those previously daunted by endless waits at other establishments, Sichuan Impression proves to be a revelation, a beacon of culinary brilliance.

My visit on a leisurely Sunday afternoon revealed an establishment that effortlessly balances demand and service. Securing a table through Yelp's waiting list was a breeze, and once seated, the convenience of ordering via QR code streamlined the process. The gastronomic journey commenced with the "Impressive" cold noodles—a dish that impeccably marries texture with a subtle yet engaging heat, setting the stage for what was to follow.

The temptation continued with the red chili oil wontons and the enticingly peppery "Impressive" dumplings, setting a high standard for flavor and spice. Even the classic Kungpao chicken, though not notably spicy, left an indelible mark with its perfectly crisped chicken, melded with peanuts, scallions, and dry chilies—a rendition that redefines this timeless dish.

However, the true star of the evening was the toothpick mutton with cumin—a poetic indulgence, delivering a delightful two-pepper sensation that entices the taste buds and keeps you coming back for more, despite the gradually numbing ma la effect.

The unanimous choice of every table, the fish in pepper corn soup, did not disappoint. Its tender, numbingly spicy essence offered a symphony of flavors—a perfect amalgamation of taste and sensation.

Not only did Sichuan Impression excel in its culinary offerings, but the service was also efficient and prompt. The parking convenience, tucked away in an enclosed garage, added to the overall experience. The restaurant's interior is a fusion of modern elegance and subtle Asian touches, contributing to a comfortable and inviting ambiance.

In conclusion, Sichuan Impression isn't just a restaurant; it's a gastronomic voyage through the numbingly spicy yet remarkably flavorful world of Sichuan cuisine. With its impressive array of dishes, efficient service, and inviting ambiance, it stands tall among the valley's culinary gems, beckoning both connoisseurs and novices alike to savor its culinary brilliance.

It’s my friends’ 2nd visit and my first time, this restaurant was Michelin guided 2021, the location is in the downtown of Alhambra, every dishes we ordered was fine taste, traditional but also creative, we finished our 7 dishes, and the dessert. And we walked to have a Taiwanese shakes tea after lunch, very satisfying!! I definitely will return with my family!

I love this place, and it has the best flavor and variety of dry pot. The textures of all the items are cooked perfectly and has a good amount of spice. Not too salty but super flavorful. Recently remodeled as well with a nice new mural.

We had a wonderful dinner here, and were very pleased with our dining experience here during Seattle Restaurant Week. Our waiter was very friendly, and even offered us to taste a menu ingredient we were unfamiliar with. And hats off to the chef- everything we tried was delicious. My particular favorite was the twice cooked pork belly, followed closely by the cucumber salad. The only thing we found underwhelming was the rice crispy dessert. All in all it was great though. We’d love to come here again.

As a person who grew up with Dongpo restaurant in Beijing go over 25 years, I am really full of emotions. My family from Vancouver to visit Universal Studios, and then accidentally discovered that restaurant that I had not eaten in almost five years. I am very happy to see that our real chinese food is accepted by many foreign friends. I hope it will get better and better.
I got the beef tripe, pork blood & intestine stew. It was incredible. I've been craving something like this for awhile! The serving size was enormous so I had plenty to bring home. Totally worth the price. Perfect spice - got my nose running just how I like it!

Also had the chicken fingers which you can never go wrong with! Crispy!

Servers all around helping one another. It's a hole in the wall spot.

I'm not huge tea fan and the tea was so good! And they started with a little complimentary spicey broccoli stems dish. That had a nice kick to it!!

I ordered mapo tofu from the vegetarian section and a side of white rice on DoorDash. (I didn't realize that it already comes with a side of white rice, so I received two sides of white rice). Though mapo tofu traditionally has pork, I didn't realize that they also have a listing for mapo tofu with pork under their pork section, and both listings are simply "mapo tofu" (the vegetarian version is slightly cheaper). Unfortunately, I assume that DoorDash doesn't provide the restaurant with the menu section that the item was ordered from, so I received mapo tofu with pork. Luckily, DoorDash refunded me. The menu on Oriental Flavor's website doesn't have this problem, as the mapo tofu under the vegetarian section is listed as "veg. mapo tofu". If you're vegetarian or otherwise don't eat pork and order from their online menu, you should be fine, but beware if ordering from DoorDash. Putting "vegetarian" in the special notes section might work. Hopefully, Oriental Flavor changes their DoorDash listing for the veg mapo tofu in the future.
Other than that, the dish was tasty, and I would recommend it if you're able to order it properly. However, I haven't had many restaurants' mapo tofu before, so I'm not sure how it compares.
This is some of the very best Chinese food I've had in years. Absolutely flawless quality, flavor and texture. The tangerine jumbo shrimp was awesome! Fast and friendly service too. I'll be back for more very soon and often!
Unbelievable food!! Fantastic prices! Everything is fresh and made to order, everything came out the perfect temp, complementary tea for the table, and everything came out quickly! The owners were incredibly kind and welcoming even though we got there about 20 minutes from close. I can't wait to go back and eat till I can't anymore:)

Food was not good. I would not recommend it to anyone. I personally was disappointed with the intense flavors. Coming from a background of food flavors and spices. I am used to flavorful spicy food but this was different. Too strong in an uncomfortable way. We tried many dishes but no luck. Service was great tho and ambiance is nice.

The Star ⭐️ review is missleading. This place deserves more than 4 stars. I saw this place as I looked up spicy food but saw they have less than 4 stars so I didn’t go. However, one of my Chinese friend takes me here and I loves their dishes. My friend said if a Chinese restaurant open for more than 10 years, they are good. And this restaurant is one of it. If you love authentic, spicy Chinese food, try this place.

Spicy Szechuan food is one of my go-to Chinese food. The food here is great, spicy, and numbing. Service is up to par with any local restaurants in the area. Current fav is oil intestines with hot oil.
We have been coming to this restaurant for at least 10 years now, and every single time, it is the exact same thing. Amazing food, great service, and affordable prices. I truly believe this is one of the if not the best Chinese Restaurants in Massachusetts. When we try another Chinese restaurant, we are disappointed because this place sets the expectations for restaurants 0VER THE TOP. We always get the same dishes (in the pictures) and I believe that everything here is amazing and you should make a stop. The good may be too spicy for some, but I think this place is perfect as it js.

Honestly I don’t get why it still has a 4.5 star ratings. As a sichuan origin person, I can say it has nothing to do with sichuan cuisine at all! I understand you cannot be 100% percent authentic but with all the ingredients I can get in Seattle me myself I can reproduce 95% authentic sichuan cuisine. It’s really a shame to call themself sichuan ! And the staff don’t even speak mandarin, Cantonese I guess. As for the service there is basically nothing but bring the bowl to your table. Wait 20 minutes to order while there was only us. Also call them 5 times to check out! To pay the bill they insist cash and give no receipt but a hand write paper?! All in all I do not recommend this restaurant to anybody!
This restaurant is very good. I’m in the area for the first time, and I wanted a really good Asian food experience before I left. This restaurant allowed us to do just that. We had the sesame noodles, Szechuan chicken, pork dumplings and mushroom fried rice. All of the food was very flavorful. Also, the vibe was good, and the waitress was kind. There were no misses. I highly recommend!

This is the only Chinese restaurant on Universal Citywalk. Food is normal but a bit tiny. If you are very tired when leaving Universal Studios, your may consider having dinner there.
I’ve been dining here regularly for the last two years. The first time I tried their food, I went back four days in a row. My favorites are mapo tofu, boiled fish in hot chili oil, Szechuan beef noodle soup, and honey walnut prawns. Spice Up NEVER disappoints. David, the owner, is one of the sweetest man I’ve met - he is like an uncle everyone needs. I’ve brought so many of my friends and family here and they all love it as well. I will be a regular customer as long as this place is open.

First time trying this place out, and it was great! This is a dry hot pot, and it is different from regular hot pot. We have our server explained the process of ordering the pot, and you can also add on additional sides for extra money. A bowl of rice is $1.99 at this time of review. Small orders are good for two people to share. We ordered the medium size, and it's more like for four people, but we pack the leftover home. The server was great, and she packed our leftover.
The owner of this restaurant is not friendly to all customers. The food was salty and small, and the meat in the beef and broccoli was like pork or chicken. The atmosphere of the restaurant is not clean and bright, so it is not suitable for a high-tech city.

The sauce on the clam was really thick and it was on the saltier side. This dish is supposed to be spicy but they were able to leave off the spice. BE CAREFUL when ordering the steam butterfly shrimp if you don’t want spicy. The menu doesn’t indicate it’s spicy anywhere so I ordered it and didn’t ask for less spice or none at all. As you can tell on the picture it was full of spice and the shrimp is black (which indicates it’s not fresh)! For $30 on that dish it wasn’t worth it at all.

Service was good. There was only 1 server when we dined and she was running around between 6 tables by herself. She was the server and cashier all at once. She did warn us the shrimp would take 25 mins to steam so by the time we got that dish it was about 30ish minutes out. Again, not worth the wait unless if you was mushy shrimp.

Inside had soft Chinese music playing with black ceiling. Had 3 big tables to fit large groups and a bunch of smaller tables. If you’re sitting in the middle most likely you won’t feel the AC but if you sit against the wall you’ll feel it!

Food was really pricey, but to be expected when dining at universal. Wok fried green beans were very delicious and flavorful. Dan dan noodles originally come dry with sauce on the side, these were in broth. They were tasty though. Service was average, had to remind staff to bring white rice that we ordered, but they were friendly and helpful. Atmosphere was peaceful and not crowded.
The good is superb! Everything was made perfectly. From beef, to veggies to spices. Excellent service! Posting here what we have ordered on their menu. We will definitely go back.

The food was exceptionally good, and there were some things I'd never had before. The big tray chicken and frog hot pots were great, and the fish fragrant eggplant was one of the best I've had.

The standout dish for me was the intestine and potato though. Just enough Sichuan pepper, and a clean bell pepper fragrance. A nice combination of textures too.

Will recommend this place to everyone.

Place is overall pretty good if you like Chengdu style food. Everything is pretty much spicy, but not to the point where you can't eat it.

The menu is fully digital and can have some problems connecting, had to call a server to reset their system so we can order.

In regards to customer service, there was practically none, they either seemed busy or didn't really understand what I was asking about.

I mainly came here for the tooth pick lamb, which is one of their signature.
This was a place we stopped at while we were on the outside of universal studios at the walk, everything was booked out, but we were able to score a table here and were seated in minutes.

We ordered chicken fried rice and Mongolian Beef, both meals were fantastic, the beef was sweet, spicy and had a fantastic flavour its a 9.5 out of 10 for this one from Don&ShonaEats.

It's a Don&ShonaEats recommended place to try.

To be honest, noodles and dumplings are pretty mediocre or we can say not good. What lift the rate up is their xiaolongbao. Juicy and flavorful, and the skin is just the right thickness.
The restaurant is located on the second floor and has access with an elevator. The restaurant has a nice welcome ambiance with classic Asian designs.

The hot and sour soup wasn't great in my opinion, I've had much better at other takeout spots. The vegetable dumplings were great and came in a bamboo steamer. Growing up, I loved sweet and sour chicken and this hit the spot! Have to eat it fast while it's still crispy and use the sauce with white rice. The lo mein was good and beef were good and typical for this style of American Chinese food. Overall a great place!
Stellar food and top notch service. We had an awesome experience dining in for dinner. The food was delicious. The sauces were well done, flavors were perfect. I was impressed because the menu is large. There is something for everyone and they do it all well. We particularly loved the orange chicken, Dan Dan noodles, and lo mein. The service was really something to write home about…I usually don’t bother writing about service because it’s been so different since covid. But the service and friendliness here really blew me away. The bar is great too! Delicious drinks. We will definitely make this a regular spot.

If you're looking for a mouth burn from Sichuan peppercorns, go check out Chengdu Taste in Rowland Heights. There are other locations in SoCal as well.

We ordered a few dishes when we had dinner there:

-Dry stir fry pig intestines ($19.99)
-Sauteed eggplant w/ spicy garlic sauce ($13.99)
-Mung bean jelly noodle in chili sauce ($8.99)
-Toothpick lamb w/ cumin ($22.99)
-Cuiyun boiled fish with pickled cabbage and chili ($21.99)
-Wonton w/ green pepper soup ($10.99)

Of these dishes, we thought the intestines, eggplant, and mung bean jelly noodle were our favorites. We were all sweating while eating, but enjoying the mouth-numbing food. Would definitely try some other dishes next time too!

They have fast and efficient service and there is ample parking in this complex.

The place has nice outside seating and we just found it walking around.
The drinks are strong! Order a cocktail just do it! 😏 the pomegranate drink with gin was really good.
Ordering for two I would suggest to order 2 of the small plates and one entree to share. The peppercorn will make your mouth numb and if you prefer food with less hot spices make sure you get some rice to have a bite in between.
I would recommend the Dan Dan noodles and the grandma potatoes. We also tried the fried chicken which was very spicy and the spicy eggplants but I think those dishes you can get in a lot of places with the same quality but the DanDan noodles and the potatoes were special.

Would recommend it if you are into spicy food.

We tried more of their dishes this time and I would recommend the new watermelon salad on their menu!

The marinated chicken I will rate 0..it is way far from the photo..I can't even explain the taste, so much crushed bone in it, aside from the taste is bad it is so dry too. I feel like eating a rubber
The food is excellent.

We ordered Cumin lamb and my husband’s all time favorite boiled fish in chili oil. Food was actually good.

Ambience was very good - decorated in Chinese style. Good lighting and spacious table setting.

A small family business. My favorite dishes to order would have to be the cold noodles and the beef and tendon noodle soup. The xiao long bao was alright, but I was a bit disappointed with the potstickers as they were a bit thin and dry.

My cousin and I were roaming around Bellaire (an Asian-dominated area of Houston) looking for a new place to try and we pulled into one of the many strips with multiple Chinese or Vietnamese restaurants, and we settled on Central China. And wow, talk about a hidden gem! The menu was very intimidating as its a massive menu with over 100 items, and this is authentic Hunan food so you're not going to see things like "General Tso's Chicken" or "Broccoli Beef" on it. I ended up getting the Cumin Lamb with Cilantro and my cousin got the Fried Stinky Tofu. The lamb was absolutely delicious (though I ordered it to be mild, not too spicy though the waiter struggles a bit in English so I used hand gestures to help) and the cilantro/cumin was fresh. My cousin had never tried tofu before, much less the famed "stinky" tofu, but he enjoyed it as well (also ordered it mild). The outside of this building is kind of boring and generic, but the inside feels like you could be somewhere in the Hunan province. Do not be afraid to try this restaurant- it will be the closest you'll get to being in China while in Houston!

That was filling. I always enjoy the food here. I like that they serve more choices than the usual takeout stir fry. That's you, Gen Tsao Chicken, I am talking about. Yes, you have that, if that is what you care for, but you may also just want rice porridge and dimsum one day or a sichuan dish on another day. Each one is uber delicious. Top it off with some sesame balls for dessert, and you are all set. I keep coming back for more.

As we were waiting to be seated, we looked at the provided menus only to find out that the prices were outdated and everything was several dollars more expensive. We ordered and paid through toast. Service was excellent.

We ordered the sliced kidney, boiled fish w/ rattan pepper, and sliced pork in minced garlic. The sliced pork was the best out of the three and it wasn’t spicy at all. The boiled fish was next and it was mouth numbingly delicious. The sliced kidney was alright.

I am not sure why this is rated low, the food was amazing.

It had a great spice level, the flavors were incredible, and the selection was immense. Incredibly authentic and keeps me wanting to come back for more. I could see myself coming back.
Honored to be served by “sifu” Kung-Fu master Mr. David Leong himself. 😄 He said food here comes out fast, then I thought that’s maybe because he’s delivering. We visited here twice, and food is great and authentic. Will visit again.

We came in without a reservation after visiting Universal Studios. We were seated immediately by a very friendly face who gave us a choice between a table and a booth. Clean, bright restaurant with modern decor. Bright descriptive menus with photos, price and portion size. We ordered Sapporo, fried chicken wings, fried prawns, shrimp fried rice and green beans, all delicious with the rice being the favorite! Our food arrived quickly, chicken still sizzling! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely return with friends and family.

Cozy beautiful place with delicious food options! We tried a combination of items including the spicy eggplant, chickpea curd, grandma potatoes, mapo tofu, dry fried chicken, stir fried cumin lamb, dan dan noodles, mushroom and tofu fried rice. The dan dan noodles were my favorite followed by the cumin lamb. There werent any dessert options offered but would've loved some after the spicy food!

The food, cocktails and service get 5 stars from me. I wish I took photos of the food because it was all so incredible. The plates are definitely family style and portion sizes are adequate for price. My friend and I ordered the greens, Dan Dan noodles, dumplings and their special for the day which was a garlic short rib. Everything was delicious and had the perfect amount of spice. I ordered the Ernest goes east cocktail based on the server’s recommendation and it was so unique and paired well with my food. I can’t wait to come back and try everything!
We have been wanting to come here for a long time as I’m obsessed with Szechuan cuisine and we live a few blocks away but just never got around to it. Then we found Seven Pepper in Int’l district and only went there. Then they closed so we finally came here. Definitely wish we would’ve come a long time ago! It is SO GOOD! We got the Mapo Tofu, Szechuan wings, Twice cooked pork, Chinese pancake, and hot & sour soup. I wanted to get like 3 more things but figured that was enough. Ended up eating only 1 wing as was already full from everything else. Everything was just amazing. Great lunch specials and everything is very reasonably priced. They also have a full bar (my husband got a Bloody Mary and it was only $6 and delish!). And the owner, David, is super nice and makes you feel very welcomed. And there’s a 10% off discount for dining in or calling your order in. I really hope this mom & pop shop stays open for forever. Really quality food. 10/10 will be back many times!
I really enjoyed our time here. If you’re a big foodie and you are looking for “off the chart food experiences”, I’d bucket this closer to a 4 star. That said, let me explain why I loved this spot. In terms of breaking bread with friends, sharing laughs, drinking, and making memories, I haven’t been to a better spot for it. The dining experience felt like we were at a Friendsgiving. We came in with a group of 7 on a Saturday night. Had no issue getting seated(, but even if you did, they allow reservations).

Everything is so reasonably priced, great portions, affordable drinks, and quality food. Not to mention, the owner, David, is the most approachable guy and so friendly. Ask him about the movie days. He will talk your ear off about kung fu, jackie chan, Steven Seagal lol. We were loving it. For the record, Steven>Jackie in case you wondering.

Such a great dining experience. We’ll definitely be back.

Gotta love a restaurant that has pictures for all their dishes on the menu.
Here's what you must order:
-Sauteed sour potato. I've made this at home and was amazed at how thin the potatoes were sliced. The thinness and flavor will enhance any other dish that you order, must have!!
-Dried pot with family tofu. The sauce has an amazing flavor. This dish kept on giving, I was just expecting a marinated tofu dish. There's a few wonderful surprises in there that I won't spoil, just order it and try it!
-Twice cooked pork w string bean. Don't worry if your spice tolerance is low, it's not that spicy.
came here with friends because they recommended this place as one of the best Sichuan boiled fish. ordered some appetizers and main dishes. appetizers are okay, egg plant, Sichuan chicken and pork were good, we had our hopes so high for the fish and it came out VERY disappointed! not only was it not spicy, it was flavorless... you can hardly taste anything. we asked the waitress if they can add some salt, she came back with the dish, added a bit of salt and still bland... we ended up not touching the dish. a group of waitresses were standing behind us chatting not attending to our need whatsoever... not sure why this place has such good review¿¡

Amazing food! Offers a lot of authentic dishes.

Would definitely recommend the Szechuan Dry Chili Chicken, Fried Long Beans, and Beancurd with garlic chives. If you want anything to be adjusted to be spicy as the flavor they’ll accommodate you.

A lot of dishes other places don’t offer like bitter melon 😇

Disappointed with the food here. Don’t think the chef is experienced with Chengdu cooking. The cold noodle is lacking some flavor from Chengdu. The vegetable dish is quite salty. The chili chicken dry pot is not dry and the chicken is not tender. This is the first time ever I see chicken feet inside this kind of dish. Chengdu Taste and Chengdu Impression are 2 much better alternatives in the area. This place was quite empty during lunch time which probably tells us something. Definitely would not return.
First time at Delicious Chengdu and it was amazing! We were in the mood for a spicy, authentic dry hot chicken and this hit the spot!

All the flavors for each dish were perfectly balanced. We love spicy food and this was a good spice but the flavors weren't overpowered by the spice. All and all amazing experience.

We came for the dry chicken (it's called popcorn chicken on the menu). Amazing with a heaping amount of the dry Szechwan peppers. Next time, I will upgrade to the extra spicy for an extra $2 to see how that is ;)

We also ordered the mapo tofu, string beans and fried rice. Everything was balanced. And the best part of our dinner was it was a massive amount of food. We took about half of each item home and can't wait to have that as our lunch today.

Thank you again for the wonderful experience and we will be back for sure!

This is definitely a regular go-to spot for me when it comes down to craving hunan style food in the Chinatown area. It's a small restaurant and can get packed easily on the weekends. But during the weekdays, there's not much of a crowd, so you can occasionally enjoy a nice quiet dinner here.
When it comes down to the food, I honestly never had a dish I didn't like here. Every dish has amazing flavor, with a no-kidding spicy level (so adjust accordingly), and nice portions. For 2 people we got:
Cumin Lamb (a dish that's hard to avoid whenever we come here, absolute favorite, with great flavor)
Steamed Pork Belly with Buns (first time trying this, and I liked how the pork belly is not dripping in fat/oil and the buns that came with this dish is a different take to it. Some steam rice is the best way to devour this)
Egg w/ Eggplant and Pepper Salad (also a first with this one, and loved it! Pretty unique in my opinion)
Meatball w/ Mushroom Soup (they don't offer much soup options here, but this one is a must if you're trying soups, especially for mushroom lovers)
And as always, the eyes are bigger than the stomach, and we ended up with leftovers. With great food and friendly service, I highly recommend trying out this place if you're in the area.

The food here is fresh and delicious. I ordered the soup dumplings as an appetizer. The dumpling skins were a bit on the thicker side, but well made for the pioneer valley. For my entree I ordered the salt and pepper seafood which consisted of fried squid, scallops and shrimp with Chinese salt and pepper style seasoning. Not bad! Including tip, I think I spent about $36.

Nice Sichuan Food. Witness it from a local shop near Valley BLVD to the center space of Alhambra main Street. The new place is decorated in a really fancy style with big windows of full sunlight. Also there are larger dining tables and bar areas. Regarding with the food, they are not so spicy to meet the local demands. Really Enjoy the Tea Smoked Pork Ribs as it's crispy enough. Beef Brisket and tofu soup are nice choices. Every time, we would also choose the Boiled Fish with Rattan Pepper and Mini Lamb Skewers. Spicy Frog Dry pot and Fred shrimp Dry Pot are also in good taste. The desserts of fried rice cake with brown sugar is a one for sharing. The School Yard Ice Jelly might be a little sweeter than others'. We try the special drink of Rose honey Tea as it is wonderful. It would be better to call more guys dining together to try more different items. Worth it!

What an excellent dining experience! Came across the restaurant on an Eater list and decided to try it. We had a reservation (which was great, because the place was busy!), and were seated promptly! I especially loved our servers - all of whom were so friendly and had great recommendations. The menu was exciting - we loved the chrysanthemum salad and spicy eggplant (chilled) - amazing flavours and the spice level was just right! The Dan Dan noodles and the mushroom tofu fried rice were great large plates to share. I got a Red Lantern to drink, and the flavour of hibiscus was superb. Overall, a 5 star dining experience, would highly recommend and would 100% visit again!

It was awesome. Note that many of the foods are very sichuanly spicy, and some of the dishes are pretty salty. Overall, it was delicious, especially the spicy fish. Service was great, and staff were nice. Would recommend. Also food came out insanely fast, and they definitely didn’t skimp out on how much you got.

Driving for 45 minutes to eat this pot! it’s bigger than 4 ppls’ faces!!
This post contains some vegetables, chicken feet, chicken, lotus root, and potatoes. It's very delicious! Four people are super full to finish this pot😹

My favorite is their classic fish with pickled cabbage. This plate is about the size of three people's faces. I also drank the soup so much that I shed tears because it was a bit spicy but delicious! 🤪

The chicken must be ordered! I can't eat peanuts but I still ate them because it's too delicious. I can't be the one who didn't eat them (if you can't eat peanuts, please remember to ask them not to add peanuts)👍🏻
The pork ear giving me a clear taste because I ordered a lot of meat, so I can exchange the flavor.

You can get a free drink by reviewing on google and yelp ~ 🚨 plus showing my review on the xiaohongshu app can get the 10% off! (cocochou)

Xiaolongbao is a must try!!!

The homemade xiaolongbao was delicious and juicy!

Bit the dumpling at an angle and the hot soup exploded in my mouth.

Must Try!!!

The noodles are good but I come here to eat dumplings rather than noodles lol

Inside is traditional 1950's Chinese retro look.

The boarded windows make this place look so secret.

Came for the frog on a recommendation, but it's out of season. Waiter said customers were complaining about how frozen ones tasted.

Had the Duck and Tilapia in green broth. Couldn't give you their specific names, but was good nonetheless.

Medium Sized Spicy Base w/ Mild Spice (22.99), Potato, Celery, Cauliflower, Soybean Sprouts (included), Grilled Cooked Beef (one protein included with price), Sliced Lotus Root (3.59), Black Fungus (2.29), Side of White Rice

Absolutely delicious. Large family style serving. Medium is great to share between 2 - 4 people.
The beef and rice was really good but the intestine (pig) soup with potatoes was beyond awful. I believed it’s due to a specific seasoning. You will have a horrible taste in your mouth and stomach. But overall, the place is decent enough to go eat just pick carefully. They were very polite and the place is super clean

It's a bit pricey but it was delicious. The workers don't know English that well but the menu is in English. The size we ordered was a large and it was about $75 total without tip. It's like a good hole in the wall restaurant.

Normally if someone says 干锅 I’m the first to line up. Sweet memories of living in Shanghai and being bold enough to get 重麻重辣 😅

It was nice this place had outside seating especially with the good weather. The 烤肉串 and 烤面包 were good. No complaints there except I felt they were expensive. Maybe I was still remembering 4 kuai for 羊肉串 off the street. But that wasn’t a deal breaker.

The deal breaker was the dry pot. The flavor was good along with the veggies, but something was off about the meat. It didn’t taste fresh, which threw off the overall taste.

Flavor didn’t match the price point. I’d try this place again…but with caution.

3.8 Star. Overall.
My Szechwan friend is a regular here and says their food is the closest to the flavor she eats in her home town, especially the Catholic Sliced Chicken (my direct translation, not sure what it’s called on the menu) which she always order when dining here, in addition to the Toothpick Lamb.

5 Star. Flavor.
All the dishes we ordered were delicious, bursting with flavor, and not your average boring stuff from other Chinese restaurants. It’s authentic to the max. Tastes like food my Szechwan friend and her mom would make and just like how they make it in Szechwan when I visited.

3 Star. MSG.
Unfortunately, I don’t think this restaurant can fully accommodate a NO-MSG request. We made sure to request for no MSG for all the dishes, the waiter noted it and I was happy and enjoyed my meal, though I doubted the no MSG from its taste. Right when I got home, I felt so drowsy and was forced to knock out for over 2 hours, a sure sign of post-MSG effect. Perhaps no MSG was sprinkled onto the finished dish, but MSG was already added in during the preparation process. As a courtesy, They should at least point out which dishes had pre-marinated MSG so I can consume less of it. What a waste of my life napping.

The 3 items I consistently order are toothpick lamb, popcorn chicken cartilage, and the lion fish (sweet and sour). The french fries presentation of the fish meat is perfect for toddlers. Don't worry about over-ordering because leftovers are still tasty. For non-spicy eaters, order yogurt to help with the burn.
The beef soup was really good and filling. My dumplings were supposed to be spicy but there was no spice at all. The service was good, people seemed kind and the price was reasonable. I would not recommend the green onion pancake- hardly any onion and just really boring/overcooked.

Went with a friend. Food was fast and flavorful/spicy. Portions were pretty good but a bit oily. There were a lot of good dishes. Be prepared for lots of peppers. The meats were fresh. Some dishes were a little salty but would be perfect beer food. We wanted fried chicken wings with no sauce for the kids and they delivered; there was a good batter and they put in scallions and ginger (surprisingly good). They may want to put this on the menu.

Great food at a reasonable price. Don't be dissuaded by the run down exterior and super simple interior design. This may be one of the better Asian restaurants I have tried in the area. The dumplings are delicious and the noodles are excellent. Both have that qq (chewy) bite to them.

Highly recommend this place. I know there are a lot of options in thus area, but Chengdu Taste is a gem. The Broil fish spot with green pepper is a total must try! I've never to any place where they use the kinds of peppers and spices they do here.
If you know, you know. This small, unassuming restaurant is THE place to go for homemade dumplings and fresh Dan Dan noodles. I ate here for years before moving out of the city, and recently came back for lunch. Still as delicious and friendly as ever.

Authentic, spicy, and flavorful. While the spicy level is very high, it doesn't take away from the great flavor of the food. Both the food and service were good. I definitely will go back to try other things on the menu. Recommend the Dry Pot dishes (the mushroom one is great and non-spicy) and other Human Specialties.
