I have been with this surgery just over a year now and they have been excellent. Some of the doctors go above and beyond to try and cover all areas of any issue. Which I cannot say about other surgeries I’ve been with.

It's a nice surgery located with a pharmacy inside the building (Paydens) for convenience and a decent size parking lot. The receptionist with the US/Canadian accent is always a pleasure to speak to - very friendly and helpful, always upbeat. Good transport links too - bus stops right outside the parking lot. Doctors are always very fast to issue my repeat and contact me if there's any issues like I need a review ect. Glad I switched to this surgery from Babylon's GP at Hand.

I am in extreme pain after colorectal radio therapy. Central Surgery would only give me a telephone appointment for two weeks ahead. The receptionist can hardly speak English, does’t seem able to use her computer and doesn’t know the names of the doctors in the practice. Worse the receptionist is expected to do triage but lacks any training... A & E is the only solution.
Even one star is too good. Definitely not recommended.
It has an NHS rating as “In need of improvement” which is something of undertstatement.

I am with the surgery over 10 years and I still don't have a regular GP whom I see. Appointments are still telephone only (including for skin conditions - haha ) and usually available after a 4-6 week wait. By then most of the time any symptoms and issues have disappeared or I had to go the A & E in the meantime... so I am considering to finally leave this practice.

I'm so glad I'm with Central Surgery. Everyone is very friendly and will always 'go the extra mile' to help if they can.

I've recently been in quite a state with a back injury and was getting grief from my employers. All staff, both clinical and support staff have done everything they can to help me through this very difficult time.

Also, the COVID vaccination programme at this practice was run very efficiently

Glad to have both the surgery and the Health Centre in my area.
Great reception staff, who are always polite and happy to help. And the drs are great too, very reassuring and always have time for you. Great surgery all round. I'd like to add to this that the drs and reception staff have been amazing over the pandemic. And I suffer a rare disease and until I moved to this practice a G.P had never read up on my disease properly whereas my Dr here went out of their way to look it up and study it. Which made me feel im in safe hands. Cannot fault this surgery! So happy I found them 💓 Updated - still just as happy with this practice and I feel so fortunate to have found this practice. I never want to have another G.P as past experiences with past practice was awful. If I could give 10 stars I definitely would!!!!

They are always too busy and you have to wait 4-6 weeks for an appointment. Thankfully I'm fairly young and healthy. I put a request online with them for a repeat prescription. Their rule is you have 48 hours before they complete your order. 48 hours later and they still haven't done it usually followed by a comment suggesting you're to blame.

Unfortunately I'm incredibly busy and work long unforgiving hours which means I often find myself unable to collect the prescription for 7-10 days as it falls on days when I'm working and unable to pick it up. This is a long time when you're reliant on asthma inhalers. It also stresses the importance for reliability, which they lack. I ended up picking up more inhalers in Italy as I ran out and couldn't risk not having any.

The place is modern and clean throughout with the latest of technology available. Personally I feel this is a mask for an underperforming surgery.

Some of the receptionists are lovely. Some are rude and think they're qualified doctors wanting to know your complete medical history offering their 'professional' opinion. They make you disclose this in front of everyone else in line behind you and well within ear shot. Thank god I've not had anything embarrassing.

I'll stay with them until I move in 6 months and hopefully find a better medical practice. If they weren't understaffed compared to the number of patients I imagine this would be a good surgery.
