Best food for me was probably not made there. Noodles, desserts, cakes, mochi.
Karaage was awful, dried out like chewing leather. One slice of bean curd instead of pictured 2.

Visited Kyoto Cafe multiple times and every time it's perfect. Food is delicious, Katsu Chicken Curry is the bomb. Authentic atmosphere and vibe about the place. Wait staff have always been very polite and helpful. Food comes quick so no waiting around for too long. Great drink selection and family friendly. Highly recommend. Empty plates evidence of a delicious meal!

Have both visited in person and ordered through Uber eats. In short: Really good value, nice meals, authentic and service was friendly! Highly recommend the karaage chicken and vegetable gyoza. Asahi was on tap for $6 (worth visiting just for that) and meal portions were generous. My new favourite in Ringwood! Honestly surprised it wasn’t busier when I visited.

We came here on a Thursday night which was the first day of our long weekend. Food was absolutely amazing with excellent service. Reasonable price with good atmosphere. One of the very good options in Ringwood if you are looking for a restaurant where you can chat and enjoy some Japanese food. It is located at the top floor of Eastland.

Delicious, quality Japanese food!!! First of all, their takoyaki tasted heavenly - a must-try!! I also really enjoyed their tempura udon - the noodles were nice and bouncy and the broth tasted beautiful! The tempura was also lovely (especially the sweet potato ones hehe) and came with an interesting salty matcha powder on the side. My friend ordered the salmon poke bowl and really liked it. She said all of the elements of the dish complimented one another really nicely! The staff were polite and friendly :-)

Upon arrival and being seated, I was disappointed (and would've given just 3 stars but the food was good to bring it up to 4 stars). We were seated at the bar and there was a strong cool breeze blowing on us. It was cold outside and I was looking forward to the warmth of a restaurant. We had to keep our winter outdide jackets on. Then, while I love Japanese curry, I wasn't wanting it this particular night and there werent any other hot options that interested me (mainly curries, don, poke bowl, and a soba with tempura). So, that added to the disappointment. In the end we ordered salmon sashimi don (for me), salmon and king fish sashimi don (for my partner) and tofu green salad to share. The salmon don was wonderful, as was the salmon/king fish don. The salad was refreshing. We did order desserts and they were loght and delicate, not amazing but they were a good finish to the meal. In the end I was happy but would have preferred to be warmer. They could put some of the clutter away (underneath the stair case) to help improve the profesdional look and feel of the venue.

The staff are always quite lovely. Added to the fact this has been our regular spot for an obscene amount of time. However, they are always quite attentive, both in cleanliness and customer service. The food is consistent in quality and taste, and for the price point, atmosphere and service I can say it is well worth the visit. Do bare in mind though not to have overzealous expectations, as I would say this place has more of a culmination of pros. Summery being its good portions for the price and quality, aka a good mid-range restaurant with exemplary service.

Recommendations would have to be the Budo Sake, warm or cold but cold does taste a bit sweeter. As well as the spicy fried chicken, and seared salmon sushi.

I would also like to note that the Edamane creme brulee had more of an almost savoury but sweet taste, it reminds me of the feeling of having Miso ice cream. It might not be for everyone but the texture is quite lovely, in how thick whipped the texture is.
