The Deacon

We had an incredible family weekend at The Deacon!!!! We were 12 adults and 12 kids and the space was incredibly comfortable. It's communal feel is unparalleled as in I literally don't think you can find another location that will give you the feeling of being with your people while still allowing for couples to have their own private sleeping area. We went for Shabbos and Valerie was wonderful even as we required significant accommodations and requests. Because we are fully kosher, plus Shabbos observant, we stayed for about 24 hours, eating all meals on-site, and remaining mostly within The Deacon for our visit (we attended prayer services nearby). But there was nowhere better to stay so prolonged in place - it was so spacious and ample room for groups of people to congregate, to play a game, eat a snack, read a book, or have a shmooze. We brought all the food with us and 2 fridges ensured we had enough space for it all. There was also plenty of prep space for us to spread out and prepare meals (even though we couldn't use their dishes because of kosher). And the ice machine was shabbos friendly! Also the soaps smelled amazing! We used the broom, first-aid kit (bandaids), multi-purpose spray, candyland, nespresso, tea bags, stereo system to get pumped for Shabbos arrival on Friday afternoon, towers of glassware, uno, all the tables and seating, and we even spotted my Swedish nephew's classmate in the Architectural Digest on site, which featured a Stockholm family - he was very excited! We were able to spread out, relax, and enjoy. If you are considering, book, book, book! We are really hoping to return! My 2 suggestions are: a little bit of pantry space for people to put their snacks and stuff during their stay (all cabinets were fully stocked :)) and more comfy throw blankets. This is a really unique venue which makes for an unmatched extraordinary experience!

We had such a special weekend at The Deacon for our wedding. The space worked out brilliantly and the staff were amazing and extremely accommodating. Would 10/10 recommend for weddings, special occasions or just a fun night away from home!

We used the Deacon for our wedding venue. We had the space from Friday to Sunday, and it was so nice to have a home base for the wedding party. It felt like a big sleepover. Hair and Makeup met us there Saturday morning. We had food trucks cater and bring food up the reception buffet style. All of the chairs, tables, and table cloths were provided by the Deacon which was so nice. Everyone we worked with was amazing and so attentive. The space is just gorgeous and fun and I couldn't it recommend more.

The Deacon was the perfect location to facilitate a leadership retreat for my organization! What a beautiful space conducive to gathering, bonding, and learning. Outstanding, safe location just a short distance from Rittenhouse Square. I would highly recommend the Deacon for organizational planning and team building!

We booked the deacon for a weekend and as our wedding venue last month and we could not have been happier with our choice.

The building is gorgeous with so many beautiful details, the stained glass windows all of it is stunning. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable and all our guests thoroughly enjoyed their stay. The staff is incredibly helpful and offer a lot included in your stay like furniture, some glassware and linens.

It was such a special and intimate location and it will always be one of my favorite places from here on.

We just had our wedding here and I cannot say enough positive things about the space and staff here! The location is gorgeous and all of our guests were talking about how unique and beautiful it was. Truly a one of a kind space and it has everything you need for a great stay!

The service from the staff was even better than the space. Throughout the planning process and during the actual wedding Elise and the team at The Deacon were so clam, attentive, and sweet. They really made everything easy and went above and beyond to check in with me on a regular basis to make sure I had everything I needed. Couldn't say enough positive things about this space!!

We held out wedding at The Deacon in 2022 and we could not have been happier. We booked the venue and rooms for a full weekend and having the rooms for family coming from out of town was wonderful, in addition to having time to settle in and set up the entire night before and day of the wedding. Coordination with the venue hosts was easy and they are very responsive and helpful. The space itself is so stunning and we barely decorated because of how well designed the venue is, down to every detail. The venue has a historic charm (I adore the original stained glass), which is balanced with a modern flare that echoes the history and culture of Philadelphia. I cannot recommend this venue enough for any event, and already have plans to return myself.
