This review is for the Labor and Delivery, Mother and Baby, and NICU for Spring 2024.

The L&D nurses were supportive and encouraging. I was impressed by the level of communication among all members of the healthcare team. Anesthesiologist arrived promptly. The doctors and nurses kept me in well informed while my baby was in the NICU. The NICU support staff was especially excellent. The NICU had great resources to help me provide pumped breastmilk to my baby.

The hospital food was so so, but very well presented. I never felt compelled to order food from a nearby restaurant instead.

Facilities were always clean. I did not have to even use any of my own towels or bathrobes; the ones the hospital provided were just fine.

I appreciated the volunteers who wheeled me around when I was too weak to walk to the NICU on my own.

My only complaint is one labor and delivery front desk employee who would not even look at me when I arrived to check in. I was screaming during labor contractions, trying to fill out the paperwork she handed me, and she did not display any empathy. Her attitude made me worry about how the rest of the hospital staff would treat me. Thankfully the rest of my birthing and postpartum journey turned out well. I would choose Good Sam again to give birth.

I am quite sad having to write this review, but i feel like I have to express my recent disappointment. I have been a patient here since 2016 after being diagnosed with ESRD. From the beginning, I was treated with the best all-around care. The doctors, the nurses, and even the room attendants provided the highest level of care I'd ever received. Over the years, I've been in the ER and admitted too many times to count. Always receiving the best care, I felt safe listened to and the nurses were just exceptional.
Fast forward to the last few months. The care from the doctors as well as the nurses upstairs (once you're admitted) is still by far the best, most thorough care I've ever received. This review is solely regarding the care received in the ER. My most recent visit was two days ago. I was experiencing severe abdominal pain and having trouble with deep breathing. So I went in and was seen right away. Labs and tests were started quickly. It was all downhill after that. My nurse (Kristi) drew blood, left, and that was the last I saw of her for the 4 hours I was there. I called and called no help from her. The nurse station even paged her to my room... NOTHING. upsetting was she walked by my room SEVERAL times even came in to grab something NOT A WORD. I received NOTHING for pain, so I waited for 5 hours only to leave at the exact same pain level I was at when I got there. She never came with discharge paperwork, so I left on my own. Walked right past her as I left still NOTHING
I was so upset but in too much pain to deal with. This is how my last few visits to the ER have gone. Nurses have become rude and dismissive in recent months. A few of the doctors are as well. I know it's stressful in the ER, so I gave it a chance, but I feel this is the new norm. I was sent home Sunday in an extreme amount of pain. I felt as though my concern was not properly addressed and completely ignored. Outside of lab work, nothing at all was done to ease my discomfort. I was literally left in a cold room for 4 hours. I couldn't even get them to bring me a cup of water. I asked 3 different people, and although they said I'll be right back. No one ever came they just kept walking by. It was very disappointing because Good Samaritan was always 5 star in the past. I hope it improves, but until then, I will seek care elsewhere. Sorry for the long review.

My experience in the ER was fine. But my 3-star rating is because, a few years ago, my 93-year-old grandma was in the ER there, and they lost her hearing aids. Hearing aids that set a senior citizen on Medicare and a small pension back $2,000. And she was SEVERELY hard of hearing without them.

I didn't learn she'd lost them until a month later when I picked her up from the rehab facility across the street. I called it in right away.

I jumped through all sorts of hoops for well over a year before I was finally told my claim had been approved and the reimbursement check would be marked as a priority and then sent right away.

She never received the check.

And she died about a month later, so I had other things on my mind. And then, subsequent months following her death, 2 other family members died!

And then I got sick and have been dealing with my own health issues ever since.

I did try to get results from their HR department within 6 months of her death.

(By then, I was mad. My family had shrunk by 3, and my grandma had died without being able to hear, and that bothered her very much because she felt like a burden to everyone because we all had to yell for her to hear.)

HR said they would deal with it. But they never did. And because of my own health issues, I couldn't keep on them.

So... though treatment at Good Sam is good, everything else pertaining to customer relations and administration of departments leaves a LOT to be desired.

My word of caution: Be very careful of your stuff because you may not get it back... and you certainly won't get reimbursed for their error.

I want to take a moment to give a huge thanks to the whole staff in Labor & Delivery, Mother-Baby Unit and NICU for the great support that was provided to my wife, our new baby girl and myself. Highly attentive nurses and doctors that were always available for the care of my wife and the baby. They helped us at every step and explained things thoroughly. Thank you again ❤️

Wife gave birth here and baby was in the NICU for a month. The maternity care was great. Nurses were very attentive and supportive. The NICU is exceptional here. The NICU nurses, lactation consultants, doctors and surgeons were beyond excellent. Eternally grateful to the care my child received.

Great hospital, amazing staff!
I was referred to the ER of the Good Samaritan Hospital and I immediately was processed very quickly and efficiently. They have a new system in place to check in the patients in the least amount of time possible, and I was amazed by their discipline, professionalism, and sympathy for the patients. Thank you Good Samaritan!
