*Hidden Secret of Japanese Food in Manly – Classic!*
Jipang in Manly is a hidden gem for Japanese cuisine lovers! The food here is simply classic and authentic, making it a must-visit spot for anyone craving quality Japanese dishes. From the fresh sashimi to the perfectly cooked tempura, every bite was a delight. The atmosphere is cozy, and the service is exceptional. Amazing japs in a little hidden mall off the main Manly mall.
Do yourself a favour and get here. Well priced, great little vibe and epic food. All the staff and chefs are so helpful and friendly. I had the edamame, miso, dumplings (a must) and the chicken cutlet don. Fresh tasty and filing.
5 stars - nuf said.

I googled “cheap restaurants in Manly” and one of them is Jipang. So, my husband and I went there after doing the 5 hours of Spit-Manly walk.
Turned out, it’s not cheap at all. Regular portion is $22 and large portion is $26. Curry udon (udon with just curry sauce - no protein) is $22. We were too hungry to move from the restaurant so we ate there; and the flavour was, I’m sorry… Nothing’s special. We spent $60 for two of us, feeling full but not fully satisfied. Maybe after all, there’s no cheap restaurants in Manly.
However, the service was incredibly friendly and helpful — in fact the people in Jipang probably the most friendliest servers we have ever encountered. I didn’t get why some of the reviews said the opposite.
Note: they have EFTPOS payment now.

Btw of the ladies staff, you are a bit rude. Pls don’t do the ‘Eh’ when you don’t understand your customer, it might be a language thing I get it.. but it really do sound offensive.

Great food as always! It could be even greater if communication with one of the lady managers improved due to language barriers (maybe)
BTW, chopsticks and napkins aren’t included in takeout orders without request. Clearer communication and basic amenities would enhance the experience

I can’t believe after years going to Jipang I never wrote a review for them! Consistently amazing. I think I have tried all the dishes on the Menu, my favourites are the spicy ones and most of the ramen soups. Every year we get together with friends and have a big meal. The staff is really friendly and we have had good memories with them over the years. They are friendly, professional and very kind. I love the shop, eating at the counter is my favourite place so I can see the chefs cooking away the orders. We had a great lil meal tonight, lucky for us they had two spots available so we took them. A must visit, this place is a Manly gem 🌟
A nice little Japanese restaurant. We came in for a quick dinner after a festival and were sat at the bar. We ordered the assorted tempura platter, the chashu ramen and the chicken karage curry. The chashu ramen wasn’t that good, it was quite salty for my taste, plus the chashu pork was quite thick and dry. The chicken karage was decent. Tempura was delicious, especially the veggies pancake.
