Excellent friendly service.

The haggis was great but I wish there was 3X as much –very small serving for offal which is regarded as a cheap cut. Not sure how you’d share this with friends.

Hake was nice but not unforgettable.

My mum makes a killer sticky date pudding and sadly Howies didn’t compare. They went for a sort of thin, fruity caramel where I would normally expect a rich butterscotch caramel. May have been better if there was twice as much of it.

All of this said the food came out at lightning pace, and the service was some of the best I’ve experienced in a long time.

I got the early dinner special and it ended up being well worth the money.

While visiting Edinburgh we got here twice, one for lunch and the other for dinner.
Both times were exceptional.
Good mood in the restaurant and food was super tasty and well made.
They have a menu for lunch, which is very convenient.
If I have to add a bad point I would go for tiny tables and small toilet.

Nice food, great location, very busy though! The service was so fast but you have limited seating time like us that were given 30 minutes only to eat 😅 so keep that in mind when coming to this restaurant. Overall okay, not the best in the city but good for a one time visit in Edinburgh.

This is a gem on Victoria Street. The service was fast, friendly and very helpful. The traditional haggis is a great starter and we paired it with the Glengoyne 10 YO which was amazing. The Scottish Roast Lamb rump and catch of the day (Salmon for us) were delicious. The banoffee pie was cool and sweet with a great banana tone. The cocktails just kept being amazing from the Matcha Margarita to Botanical Breeze to Raspberry Sour to Summer Spritz - all spectacular!

The most memorable & delicious meal I have had in a while to be very honest, and everything from the staff to the interior was too notch. The food was next level compared to other places I’ve eaten in the city & I believe I found a true gem. We ordered the smoked salmon starter, grilled salmon (photos attached) & let’s not forget the star that was the miso grilled sweet potato (I ate it so fast I forgot to take a picture). Everything was so fresh and you can really tell whoever runs this kitchen is passionate and a culinary artist. Thank you to all the team, will definitely be back!

This place has a well-deserved high rating. When we came the first day we arrived in Edinburgh, it was fully booked, so we made sure to book our last dinner before leaving. We ordered the catch of the day, which happens to be salmon. It was absolutely delicious. Really tasty, loved it. Very attentive staff too which I appreciated. If your are visiting Scotland for the first time, order the baggies! It was the best on I tried, I totally missed it while ordering so I got it as a dessert instead 😂 Very tasty, love it.

Haggis is a good try for me, matcha margarita as well. Casserole is just a casserole, and I think salmon is too dry to serve. The dining experience was not perfect since I felt to be rushed by waitress. She probably too tired to work on the day we visited, because I felt welcomed by the rest of the staffs.
