With Isaka's novel, I've savoured a 🥣 of grilled salmon rice 🌾

I usually don't do this, but the ramen we ordered was not ramen, the soup was almost like clear soup. The beef was tough! And there only one person working. Cashier and chief at the same time!

Amazing tasty food. I want to call it tasty art.

Thought I would try this place since my preferred Japanese takeaway was closed, and was thoroughly disappointed.

The agedashi tofu was pleasant, so that gets a star, but the mixed tempura for $18 was not even tempura in the slightest - just incredibly disappointing, cheap, ready-made, store-bought crumbed seafood on a bed of lettuce - two crumbed prawns, a crumbed fish fillet, two crumbed oysters and between 4 and 6 overly deep-fried battered baby octopus.

Waited literally 40 minutes for 4 mains and a side dish on a Sunday lunchtime. When the food finally came out it tasted very ordinary. However the serving sizes are huge!

I really want to say it’s a ‘Yeah’ but nah.
Clayton doesn’t have many Japanese restaurants around and I was ‘excited’ when this joint got taken over. But seems more like just a takeover. Food didn’t really improve and just Chinese cooking Japanese, nothing wrong if so, but is lacking.

Ordered takeaway : sashimi cut, just someone slicing fish, lacking skills. The sushi roll - can tell the difference in size between each roll in the photo.

Still hopping for something different in Clayton that stands out… oh well.

Loved the place and their eggplant with rice and veg noodles.
