The people here were very rude, you could not do anything without getting a complaint. The apartments soo old and I never seen like this place in my life. I don’t recommended. It doesn’t worth it!!!!

I’ve lived in 135 Abbeyville Rd for a year and a half now, and honestly all things considered it was a great decision to move here! Although the apartment is quite old (no A/C), no dishwasher, etc, can’t control heater on walls, it’s quite spacious for a studio apartment! I have little to no problems with the apartment other than the noise one makes (if you live above somebody you better not make much noise or they’ll hear it!) and some problem with spiders on the windows (although they’re not a big problem). It’s a fifteen minute walk uphill to the nearest shopping Mall (South Hills Village) and the T (tram transportation system to downtown) and a short walk to the nearest bus stop (36 banksville to downtown or South Hills). This is a BIG plus for me (i don’t drive). If you’re somebody who is trying to find a place in pittsburgh for cheap and not far from everything this is the place!

This place is awful. I have lived here for almost 4 years and it has gotten worse every year.
1) The parking lot has been closed for 3 months - it's caving in due to someone THEY hired to come clean the roofs/gutters. Nothing has been done to even attempt to fix it. When you return home, you're often driving around looking for a parking spot. I have had to park up on the street and have gotten tickets from MTL for parking illegally. 7 parking spaces plus 2 garages (which can hold 4 cars) are unable to be used due to this lot being closed.
2) The apartments themselves are very outdated - no AC, no dishwasher, old appliances. The paint is peeling off the walls, the carpeting is terrible, the windows are old, half don't have screens. We bought ceiling fans for our bedrooms because there were none. The bathrooms are gross. The tub caulking was molded when we moved in - we re did it ourselves. The drains are always clogging. Don't believe what is advertised!
3) The electrical is AWFUL. The electrical wiring is all old knob and tube, which is not up to code. Our power goes out on a regular basis. Since there is no central AC, you have to buy window or floor air conditioners unless you want to heat stroke all summer. We had 2 units running - 1 in the living room and 1 in the master bedroom. Our power was going out 5-6 times a day. Usually when a light or TV was turned on. They had an electrician come who told us to "only run 1 AC at a time" in the middle of 90+ degree weather. We moved the living room AC into another bedroom and now have to turn it off if we want to use the microwave or if our children want to use their xbox's, so that it doesn't trip the power in the whole apartment. There were numerous exposed outlets when we moved in as well. My husband fixed them so that our kids (who ranged in age from 3-9 at the time) wouldn't electrocute themselves. He is always worried that the wiring will start a fire too because it is so outdated.
4) The people here are weird. Some are creepy weird, others are just like odd. Makes for some interesting neighbors. Like that guy down the hall who OD'ed in his apartment and died. One time my daughter and I went to get on the elevator and found a guy who had clearly overdosed - he was seizing. He OD'ed in someones apartment and instead of calling EMS, they put him on the elevator. Not something I want my children seeing!
5) The "maintenance staff" are a JOKE. They have no clue what they're doing. They come in to "fix things" but their idea of fixing is sticking a bandaid on a gunshot wound. My husband is a carpenter and has worked construction all his life and he finds problems in everything they "fix". They're also very rude and not here half the time that they're supposed to be here.
6) The management company that owns the building is terrible. No one calls you back when you leave messages, they do nothing to improve the building, and are very rude when you do manage to get them on the phone. Their number is who we have to call for anything, which is annoying when you have an issue because they don't call back. They've also been told about black mold issues in the building and have done nothing about it.
7) They're advertisements on the various rental websites are wrong. We pay $890 a month plus a $30 garage fee for a 3 bedroom - they advertise $795. There are no dishwashers, even though they claim there are. There is usually a washer or dryer broken in the laundry room. Cable is not included, like they say. And no the building is not "well maintained".
Do not move here!! I thought it was a great place when I moved in. I was sadly mistaken!!!
