UW Medicine Primary Care at South Lake Union

Beyond frustrated with this office! I was looking for a quick referral back in March, but my regular physician was not available and they scheduled me with a registered nurse. Turns out that provider, according to my insurance, is not able to provide those services and therefore was not covered on my insurance due to how the office billed it. $400 for a quick referral on a virtual call, when my visits are always covered. I went back and forth with insurance and this office trying to get it figured out. Finally this office admitted it didn't seem right and said they were escalating it to management and would get back to me, so I did not pay the bill in the meantime. They never called back and now my bill was sent to collections. I've reached back out and they have conveniently forgotten what we spoke about and "don't see" the notes that were supposedly on my account for this. Such a scam. It's impossible to get an appointment in time here anyways so will never be back.

if you are new patient, don't waste your time to call them. I called and asked first I am new patient can I make an appointment in this week. she said yes, they I told her my information, that takes a lot time. after that she told me I have to wait until next year because I am new patient. REDICULOUS!

They should spend the 2 seconds it takes to update their hours online so people don’t waste their time coming in when the clinic is closed. Both google maps and their OWN website say open but it is closed for the Juneteenth holiday.

I have been going to UW medicine for well over 10 years. My PCP is at the Belltown location however, I have been going to SLU as this is where a lot of the lab work and OBs are located. After waiting for my doctor for 25+ minutes only to have them say that their machines are dated and I will need to make another appointment to get further clarity is beyond frustrating. What really got me is waiting for the results from my lab work to come through only to receive a phone call saying that the lab did not do the full lab work and they were unsure why but it is possible that my lab specimens may have been lost.

At this point I feel like I may need to give another healthcare facility a shot. I just don't feel like this should happen.

I see the OBGYN/Midwife Team at SLU and have had an exceptional experience. The doctors are wonderful, and most importantly, they are extremely responsive in mychart and almost always answer their phones. Additionally, they are pro-active in setting up appointments when i need them at their clinic as well as other UW medicine clinics. I feel like they are a hidden gem in the UW Medicine system, and am currently looking for other UW neighborhood clinics who are just as good with patient care to become my Primary Care Physician.

My best story - Erica + team's attentiveness caught my pre-term labor early enough for me to get the appropriate treatment and prevent my baby from being born super prematurely. I surfaced an ache and pain to her via my chart, and she acted quickly, getting me in for a same day appointment, which caught that I was dialating and contracting, which then we were able to slow down in the hospital. I am forever grateful for this!

I've been using them for years - they are incompetent. Reception needs an overhaul (attitude/training), doctors always require a second opinion, just there for $$. Run from them - do not use!

Update 7/10: my review remains the same. Using these doctors requires hand holding in babysitting. I had to call and email for days to get a form filled out, after waiting 2 weeks for the doctor to send it over. Getting anyone to do anything is like pulling teeth.

I had a really great experience at the clinic - from check-in through my consultation with Dr Eric Chen. I hardly had to wait (maybe because my appointment was first thing in the morning). Once in the room, the medical assistant and Dr Chen were both fantastic in providing the care I needed. They were professional, patient, thorough, and thoughtful in going through my case with me. I left with peace of mind and much-needed clarity about my condition. A big thank you to the medical team at UW medicine!
