We learned this was the city house of Major General Pierre Denis De La Ronde. His plantation, down the river was the site of the Battle of New Orleans, in 1814. This house was built about 1807 and is a great example of Spanish Architecture from that time period. It is an historic marker. The interior has been completely redone in modern style and it’s privately owned.
