My husband and I had our wedding at the BK House in April and it was a dream! The house and the grounds are beautiful. Annie and Courtney were invaluable during the whole process and were very professional and easy to communicate with. It was a destination wedding for us as well so that being said we couldn't have asked for better support. Courtney was extremely patient and kind with my hundred questions and had great suggestions for how the night would play out and the different vendors we hired. The venue was beautiful and we can't wait to come back to visit the house. Our guests had an amazing time dancing in the courtyard. Would highly recommend!

The BK Historic House and Gardens is a National Historic Landmark built in 1826 and restored to its present condition by renowned author Frances Parkinson Keyes beginning in 1948. It is an example of a raised Creole cottage and is lovingly cared for by the Keyes Foundation. Reasonable admission price, the tours start every hour on the hour. You are not allowed inside to wait more than 10-15 minutes before the tour begins, so be aware of that during the hot summer months. This is well worth the stop if you are in the area. It is located in the French Quarter, but off the beaten path.

I passed this place by chance when I was in a ghost tour group but very curious about another side of history as the house was different than actual architecture in French quarter.

I visited the hour as the tour starts every hour. I dropped by earlier like 10 mins before 11am and bought a tour which was totally beyond the expectation. I had Caroline (not sure if I spelled her name right) as my guide. I was alone on the tour. Caroline was very informative and answered every question I had. The house had the long and impressive story. I was glad to hear that the house wss brought for preservation from being demolished.

The tour was about an hour and it was totally worth it for $10.

Highly recommended especially those who are interested in architecture and history of New Orleans.

Very interesting place. The guide that was with us was very nice and made it very enjoyable. This place may be haunted too hehe. It has a beautiful garden.

While in NOLA, I visited three historic old houses: Gallier, Hermann and BK. Although not the most luxurious or glamorous, BK was by far the one I liked best. The reason is simple, I had an amazing tour guide. Not sure, but think his name is Kurt. He is so knowledgeable and passionate about this house and its history! The tour was a treat.

This is a secret gem that is too easy to miss. We noticed the delightful garden through a grating in the wall. A broken sign mentioned tours of the house and garden. As instructed, we rang the bell at the front door (next door and up the stairs). (I don't think there is a street-level sign.) Be prompt and don't be late! We enjoyed an hour tour of the house. It is nicely restored and has many pieces of furniture, paintings, and other personal items belonging to both Beauregard and Keyes. The docents were very knowledgeable and personable. We learned a lot and enjoyed it immensely.

Attended a wedding here and it was gorgeous! The flow through the building is a bit tricky for such a large party, and the AC isn't quite strong enough, but it is a beautiful venue!
