Toronto Downtown, Canada's vibrant metropolis, seamlessly blends modernity with cultural diversity. The iconic CN Tower pierces the skyline, offering panoramic views of Lake Ontario. Its diverse neighborhoods, like Kensington Market and Queen Street West, showcase eclectic shops and eateries. Toronto is a dynamic hub where arts, business, and multiculturalism converge.

A lot of people, nice place to walk after a meal. I went in Christmas so there were nice lights and decorations. I don't know how interesting it would be other times of the year though.

I'm wondering when will be the cavalcade of lights be TOTALLY open...yes the skating rink is open. Renting skates is always a long line up, better bring your own

..the center area with lighted Arches (?), each one is barred with rails and signs do not enter...there are some with structures but without light..

.Will the Santa sleigh be there?

Nice spot with ice rink and huge Toronto signage. It has a snacks bar where you could get burger and fries. Parking is available right below and has good number of spots

Cool castle a few kilometers away from Toronto. I went with my parents and we spent about 2 and a half hours here. The time flies by as you walk around the gardens, interior rooms, and all the terraces in the high floors. Great views from everywhere especially the top of the castle. There is also a nice wax museum with celebrities that has nothing to do with the castle but is cool nonetheless. The audio tape given helps you understand and learn the history of this place. I highly recommend coming here if you have the time.

The legend of horror is such a fun show. We have come here twice in the last two years. The live actors, music, atmosphere are all so good. I don’t know why people call the experience overrated. We thoroughly enjoyed.
We have also seen the castle once in the past. They have fun little shows. Some history for the buffs.

An interesting castle that overlooks the city of Toronto if you go all the way up to the roof or the Norman tower (although it's a narrow staircase, so you'd have to be careful going up or down).
The castle keepers did a good job maintaining the rooms and their decorations with a brief explanation on a board by each room.
There's a parking lot inside the castle outdoor area.
The only thing that was missing was a gift/souvenir shop.

Casa Loma is a Toronto gem! This majestic castle is a must-visit for history and architecture enthusiasts. The stunning interiors, beautiful gardens, and captivating history make it a truly unique experience. The panoramic views of the city from the towers are breathtaking. Whether you're a local or a visitor, Casa Loma offers an enchanting journey through time and should be on your list of places to explore in Toronto.

Halloween at Casa Loma is an unforgettable experience that combines the elegance of this historic castle with the spine-tingling excitement of the season. From the moment you step onto the castle grounds, you're transported to a world of enchantment and mystery.

The elaborate decorations, intricate mazes, and hauntingly beautiful lighting create an atmosphere that's both eerie and enchanting. Every corner of the castle is adorned with incredible attention to detail, making it a photographer's dream come true.

The actors and performers bring the experience to life with their talent and dedication, leaving you both entertained and spooked.

Intricate, captivating, and just the right amount of spooky, Halloween at Casa Loma is a must-visit event that will leave you enchanted and enthralled. Don't miss this magical and haunting celebration at one of Toronto's most iconic landmarks.

Pretty crowded, which is usual for tourist attractions. Would like to see it at night as well since it lites up when dark. Big plus is a portable toilets and the platform all around the square that allows to see the sign from top.
It's a great theatre because it is close to a main subway line - Queen Subway Station. It's also opposite Eaton's Centre and a few hotels in the area. Sitting is good, nice views regardless of where you choose to sit.

Was cool to see but so many homeless in the area trashing the little square many lights were burnt out in the sign that changed colors. But a neat experience I guess. I'd love to see the water lit up at night too!

Enchanting Historical Gem

Casa Loma is an absolute treasure in Toronto. This beautifully preserved castle is a testament to the city's rich history and architectural grandeur. The interior is as stunning as the exterior, and exploring the various rooms and secret passages is a delightful experience. The gardens are equally charming, offering a perfect blend of history and natural beauty. The staff's knowledge and enthusiasm make the visit even more enjoyable. A must-see destination for locals and tourists alike. Casa Loma deserves every bit of its 5-star rating!

A very interesting villa, like an European castle. There is an audio guide in several languages that you can easily use and listen to on your own cell phone. If you want to see all the rooms and hear all descriptions, you would have to plan many hours (around 3-4 hours). The rooms are beautifully designed and let you dream. Wonderful view from the Towers and Terrace.
Nice big theater. Chairs are pretty comfy. Slanted floor rows gives you a good view even if you are further back. It was my first time there and I'd love to go back to see more live performances.
Beautiful theatre. It was my first time going there during the JFL festival for Neal Brennan show. Comfy seats and easy to go through and exit too.
The show it self wasn’t as good as I was expecting.
Beautiful outside and in! Went for a comedy show - had a seat at the back in the aisle on the ground floor and it was perfect! Will be back just for the comfort level and space of seats in the ground floor.

Love the vibe of this whole place, just wished it wasn’t too warm when we visited. This would be a perfect place for an evening in spring or fall.
Historic place; many of the historic facts are connected to the history of the development of this part of the city. The city of Toronto kept the place neat and tidy. There are adjacent trails and Parks nearby that can be explored at the same time.
I've loved this area for my entire life. It's an underated oasis, not only for the diverse nature that can be found within it amongst the sounds of urban sprawl in the distance, but also for the history of the Don Valley and of the people who have called it home for centuries. Helen gave a fantastic tour.
Toronto Old City Hall Located in the hard of Toronto, Canada, this glorious building is one of the most important chronological milestones in the city. Old City Hall was assembled in 1899 and features a stunning design that blends architectural elements and artistic decorations.

The building was used as Toronto's municipal headquarters until 1966 and features many artistic and historical highlights, including a courthouse, a council chamber, and a grand committee room, which served as a center of public and political life in that period.

Old City Hall is distinguished by its elegant and stunning design, featuring conical towers, double arches, ornate windows, and glass ceilings. It is considered one of Toronto's most famous tourist attractions.

If you are planning to visit Toronto in the future, don't miss the opportunity to visit this magnificent historical building that represents an important cultural heritage for the city and the country

The Museum is small, but so worth it.
The staff members are so friendly, devoted and entertaining! Absolute pleasure to spend some time there!
This historical site dates back to the early 1800s (which, for Toronto, is OLD, because Toronto knocks down historical buildings for condos, and sometimes just for fun). Two cabins from the 19th century are on the property, and a modern Indigenous sculpture installation (I liked it!) was in the garden.
The art gallery on site is free to enter, because it now features mostly art being sold. Having said that, the gallery is large and a pleasure to walk through. Staff are always wonderful: friendly and helpful. Washrooms are immaculate.
So, why not five stars? Because if I was a tourist, especially on a limited budget, I don't think that the time and cost to reach this remote, publicly transit inaccessible destination, is worth it. But like I said, for Toronto, the site has real history.
Great little museum! We had the best, most enthusiastic tour guide I have ever encountered and he was such a treasure! He made the house feel alive with all the stories and information he gave us. Thank you so much!
Sad in a time where our freedom of expression is being attacked and censored by gov entities pretending to care about hatred towards certain groups- all just an excuse for them to push their agendas! People must Arise!!!

A LOT smaller than I expected. It's just four buildings, three of which are just the size of small rooms.

There wasn't much to see, and the current exhibit kind of took over the museum itself, making it less meaningful overall.

Thomson Park nearby was enjoyable to walk through though, which kind of makes up for the lackluster museum visit.
Great little gallery. Free admission. Got a nice intro from the gentleman at the front desk. Excellent exhibit from a local artist. I agree with another reviewer who said they need to up their profile … this is a City gallery so I’m guessing that’s why the operations aren’t at par.

You need to improve your social media profile. I realize you may have resource shortages (staff and $$) but this is so important for audiences these days. There is currently a great show on the gallery and I'm trying to refresh my memory as to it's title, the artists and organization involved and there's nothing on the website or instagram. ( I don't do Facebook so I don't know about that venue). I was wanting to send info by DM on instagram and couldn't find anything. It's the African Canadian Pride exhibition that's about's about a celebration of a Goddess and involves men dressing up as women in elaborate masked costumes and dancing that I'm talking about. I would have given 5 stars if I wasn't so frustrated about getting info on your current exhibition - even a link to the artists involved would help!

A magnificent building was designed by Edward James Lennox who was the architect for Casa Loma too .
Beautiful theatre filled with history!

Conveniently located on Yonge Street near the Eaton Centre.

We love sitting high up and in the back to see most shows which gives us an awesome point of view on what is happening. It also allows us to enjoy the gorgeous architecture.

Most of these pics were taken from seat R405.

The acoustics were great and the seats comfortable.
Really cool museum! Happy to see there is no fee for general admission. Open Wednesdays to Sundays now from 11- 4 I think. 2 buildings open for viewing when I went. No wait when I went on Sunday just around noon. Had a partial guided tour and got to wander around for the rest of it. Would be great if they could get the stove going again or the ice cream maker. Understand covid has changed things but it would certainly enhance the experience. If you get a chance you should go!

Only one house was open when my family visited on May 21. It is unfortunate because it took over 30 minutes to find a parking spot. While admission and parking is free, it really wasn’t too worthwhile to drive and find parking here. I saw other pictures before going and was hoping to see more but the other houses were locked up. The only saving feature was the playground beside the museum. This is where we spent most of our time.
Such an elegant and remarkable theatre. We saw rock of ages and it was fabulous. Not kids friendly although there were many children there. Definately you should see a play at this theatre.

Imagine once upon a time (1850s), there was a 100 acre farm around this house, and not a single condo or traffic jam in site. Richard our tour guide (who grown up in the area) walk us back in the time tunnel, provided us the experience about life a century ago. So glad we learnt something new (no pun intended) about North York. Thank you Richard.
Great small theatre, we unfortunately had pur seats moved due to set up for Rock of Ages needing our seats for sound equipment and couldn't see the edge of the stage as a result. They have great old decor and the old style elevators with staff managing them which is a cool feature but makes for busy intermission.
I like to walk in this area that is close to my house. We generally go there to take pictures of birds. There are a few trails and 2 or 3 ponds. It's a great place to walk and be in contact with the nature.
Came here from Florida and honestly, this is one of the best tours I’ve ever had! Our tour guide was awesome! 10/10 what an incredible experience!

Another hidden gem of downtown Toronto. This beautiful gallery is inclosed within the St. Lawrence Market and is easy to miss in this bustling place. But if you look up from the market's upper level, you'll see the distinctive building which is actually a remnant (council chamber) of the Toronto's first city hall - (which now houses the gallery). It is free to visit (along with the other 9 city of Toronto museum sites) and is open from Wednesday to Saturday, 11am to 4pm. Currently (winter of 2023) there is an exhibit dedicated to the annual Toronto Outdoor Art Fair, which takes place every summer in front of the (new) City Hall, showcasing artwork purchased by former mayors of Toronto. 60 very interesting and thought provoking pieces are on display (different media, including photography, oil, watercolour, acrylic and mixed media). Staff is very welcoming, knowledgeable and happy to share the history of the building and facts about current exhibits. The gallery also contains some memorabilia, like the original mayor's chair. If you would like to see more pictures about the city and its history check out the photographs in the food court on the lower level of the St. Lawrence Market (under the gallery). I really recommend visiting this place - a nice break from the super busy market (and you get an awesome vista of it from the gallery windows). I wish the gallery was advertised more, as probably not that many of the market's visitors are aware that this little treasure is just steps away. and it's free!
One of the best architectures still standing in this town. Found some spooky stuff about it though. Courtroom 33 is rumoured to be haunted. There’s a theory that it’s the spirits of the last two men sentenced to capital punishment in Canada in 1962. In a rear stairwell, there are reports of footsteps being heard, plus judges have felt tugging on their robes. Moans have been heard in the cellars of the majestic old building, which was the holding area for prisoners.
Great boutique museum and amazing staff! I love this place and here I have learned a lot about arts and culture! Thanks all.
My family and I love museums, and this one was no exception. A wonderful little place to stop by and learn some local history.
Great place to learn Canadian history. All the staff there are so welcoming and knowledgeable. A hidden gem in North yonge street

Beautiful example of old Toronto architecture. The war memorial stands out front and is where the Remembrance Day services are held each year. So much history in this building. Built in 1899 and was used as Toronto’s city hall until 1966. This is a National Historic Site.

Looking at old photos, I just found out that I went here like 10 years ago during university, I need to write an essay, and I chose Scarborough Museum. Went here with TTC, a great location. I kind of remember there was a lady explaining detail to us. At last, I donated $20 XD which was all the money I had at that time.

Lightening up ceremony at Christmas Market in 2021. Christmas tree was designed by Christian Dior this year.
Visited the site in early October, 2022. A great (and free!) site/museum to learn about a neat, hidden piece of Toronto's history! This is a place that so many people pass by unknowingly on the DVP, so it's great to get to know the site and its impacts on the city's development. I especially liked stepping into the homes. They were very well preserved and have very cool artefacts/replicas, such as antique cash, TTC transfers, and what bathtubs (if you could call it so) used to look like. The grounds are also quite nice for a walk; you could take a short loop around the museum. I even spotted a blue heron! Would encourage more people to come and visit. Plus, you could walk from here to/from Evergreen Brick Works to make it a longer outing.
I went to Thomson Memorial Park for BBQ, found this museum in the heart of the park unexpectedly . You can find four heritage buildings that make up Scarborough Museum. The Cornell House is the main building, good too see the Canadian life in the 1800 . The McCowan Log House was moved to here. The Hough Carriage Works Hut is worth to visit, you can see many different kinds of tools.
We visited for a tree-focused tour of the Wildflower reserve, led by conservationist Steve Smith. Fascinating to see the space through the eyes of the folks who built it, plant by plant by plant. The paths (out the South end of the parking areas) are worth the stroll for the birds and native bio diversity on view, even without the guide!
A hidden gem!
We were out for a family drive and just happened to turn into this place that we have always just drove past. Good thing we did!
It's an outdoor and indoor historic village, buildings from the late 1880s onwards. They have building tours; the place is connected to walking trails; and inside the interpretive centre was a free art installation... An interactive one at that! Washroom facilities are brand new and clean.
Outside, there were brand new info plaques that even had a few audio nuggets to drop... Very cool!
It's someplace that we will drop by once or twice a year to see what new installations they have on, and catch a tour!
We had the entire place to ourselves. Sam our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable of Gibson House and the family that previously lived here. We learned valuable information of the area and the era of the house. The staff were very helpful and professional. They are abiding by health and safety protocols. We were given ginger bread on our way out. Thank you so much! I highly recommend coming here, the tour is about an hour.

Just a short walk down the trail from the brick works park lookout is the governors monument where you can enjoy some really great views of the valley and former quarry that serviced the brick works as well as the city sky line views. It's a fairly easy walk up the slope for ppl of all ages and skill level. Nice area to enjoy the beautiful fall colours currently.

It's a nice little gallery. They have an exhibition until April 2020 about Street Art and the organization that is behind. And it is free for this particular exhibition. I didn't know where those murals come from. It has been a discovery to know that there is a huge work from the City of Toronto and many artist not only to decorate the city but also to mentor artists at all stages of their development.

The museum consists of a few houses but the nicest thing is the park/trails attached to it. Kids playground (hard sand, mind you), nice trails and lots of big trees for shade. Water park area and leash free dog area too. Staff are indeed super friendly and helpful. No cafe so bring your own food/picnic lunches. Decent washroom facilities but not the cleanest.

It was good. Though not a perfect skyline view that I was hoping but one should visit. Silent, calm. Not much place though if it gets crowded.

They have a two mini binoculars for good views. Worth it.
This small but mighty gallery is on the second floor of the iconic St Lawrence Market, and is the former home of City Hall. The exhibit on now: "Toronto through the eyes of women artists". May is "Museum Month" in the city of Toronto, meaning that you can get into nine city of Toronto-run museums for free with your Toronto library card. Visit here and you will get a terrific view of the St Lawrence Market below.
A gorgeous and imposing sculpture. But that's meant to be the point of it - Churchill is larger than life, literally.
As every other historical person he was controversial figure but in the 1940 he was simply the central figure after fall of France and this monument is interesting if little smallish for such important man.

Amazing amazing place! It’s open everyday for public visits. Go with some cash! It’s pay what you can.

It’s very rustic and historic, with many things to learn. Our tour guide Jeff is an amazingly knowledgeable guide. He seems very passionate about what he does and it was very entertaining to learn about the different buildings and their functions.

Take your kids as well, very insightful for them. They serve complimentary iced tea, cheese cake, baked goods, etc. On a first come first serve basis.

They have many events on a daily basis, so take advantage and show your family another side of what the urban life has to offer. Would highly recommend!

Visited in April 2018 to see the Jazz Clubs Of Toronto exhibit. Space compact, content as good as it could be for the theme. Being literally above St Lawrence Market it was a great chance to stock up on fine foods.
I never knew about this place, just stumbled upon it while enjoying a walk around the ever green brickworks. This is great place for viewing or shooting Toronto's skyline, unfortunately I didn't have the correct lens. Perfect excuse for a future visit. This is sometimes referred to as The Governor's Bridge Lookout.
""The impact of this great man warrants reflection, as he did so much to ensure that a democratic society prevailed in a time of conflict and chaos." The 10-foot bronze statue was commissioned by the late Henry R. Jackman and was designed and cast by renowned artist Oscar Nemon. Originally dedicated in 1977 by former Mayor David Crombie, it was moved from its earlier location facing Queen Street as part of the overall revitalization of Nathan Phillips Square. The statue is now located at the Northwest side of City Hall, near the corner of Amoury and Chestnut Streets.
Mr. Winston Churchill, a great man !
