Look at The salad $24, which isn't as colorful as Woolies' $5 salad. The pancake $28, but it's thick and already hardened. Also, the bespectacled female employee didn't finish coffee, but she's going to take it. Many travelers bring their carriers to visit, but I don't want them to be disappointed with Melbourne's coffee culture. I wouldn't go back again.

Placed was packed, but we were lucky to get a table.

We ordered the Chicken avocado sandwich ($13.50) and coffee.

The sandwich was fresh but lacked flavour, and I felt it was plain and needed more seasoning. The coffee, however, was great!

Might come back and try other breakfast options from their menu.

It’s famous for its brunch, so it’s definitely worth a try. I love the atmosphere of the place where is cool but cozy in its own way. The portions were too big, so we had to leave some, but the flavours were good. Just the price is bit expensive compared to other brunch places.

Great brunch place tucked in the alley! 👍
Seems to be a popular place for locals and tourists, it's a busy place. But the staff manages queues well and you can also order takeaways on a separate window!

I ordered the eggs benedict + with additional bacon and smoked salmon! They were great!

If you're choosing among the many cafe options for brunch, definitely give Brick Lane a try! 😃

Nice restaurant that I was highly anticipating but it fell a little short. The restaurant itself is simply stunning, would make for an incredible venue for a special event. Coffee was exceptional, but service felt a little cold, forced, and the hotcakes were drowned in maple syrup making it just far too sweet for me to enjoy. It’s on the pricier side, $30 for ricotta hotcakes is definitely a little steep. I rate it well for a casual solo meal however, they have fantastic bench seating that overlooks the restaurant.

Ordered 2 types of waffles and an eggs Benedict. Love the combination of flavour a that balanced so well. Coffee was not too bad too. We went there at about 8.10am on a PH and managed to get a table quite quickly. Service was prompt too.

This restaurant was a cool experience! Situated down an underground staircase, Dodee Paidang is a vibrant restaurant with robot cat waiters and delicious food and drinks! The roti was extremely crispy, my cashew stir fry was extremely flavourful, and the mango lemon soda was yum! Prices are affordable! Around $20 - 40 pp for food and drinks and including an entree. I found there were enough vegetarian options. There is a specific vegan menu as well. Only negative is the tables are quite close together and it can be difficult to get between tables. I would return and recommend!

Loved the vibe of this cafe! Buzzing and mostly corporate clientele during the week.

Very thick fluffy gluten free bread which is always a good surprise! Lovely presentation of the scrambled eggs which were creamy and big portion. Good selection of pastries and amazing breakfast menu.

They do a pretty good matcha. Not the best I’ve had but still good.

Would absolutely come back on a weekend where I have more time to sit back and enjoy.

My recent dining experience at Dodee Paidang with my parents was nothing short of exceptional. From start to finish, we were thoroughly impressed by the quality of food and service provided.

The menu offers a delightful array of authentic Thai cuisine, and each dish we ordered surpassed our expectations. Not only was the food delicious, but it was also consistently excellent, reflecting the restaurant's commitment to quality. Additionally, every dish was well presented, appetizing, and delivered to our table in a timely manner.

The ambiance of the restaurant is inviting, and the staff are friendly and attentive, further enhancing the overall dining experience.

I highly recommend Dodee Paidang to anyone looking for authentic Thai cuisine in Melbourne. Whether you're a Thai food enthusiast or simply looking to explore new flavors, this restaurant is sure to impress. We left Dodee Paidang with satisfied taste buds and fond memories, and we'll definitely be returning soon.

We’ve booked this months ahead so we could get seats. It’s always been so busy too. Love the decor. My food was a little too salty for my liking. I got the Spanner Crab Benedict because it was different. The scrambled was good. I’d still recommend this place.

Good food, good vibes. Quite authentic Thai cuisine designed to suit local Australian taste. The delivery of food to the table by a cute robot was a nice touch. The restaurant was very with many patrons. We enjoyed it and ended with sticky rice with durian dessert. We discussed how they would have imported these Thai desserts to Australia. :-)
We had a wonderful, beautiful breakfast here. We ate outside, it was a bit crowded inside because it's a popular place. Beautiful latte, and creative, delicious food.
What a gem!

I had to attend a meeting through lunchtime and trying to find a bite to eat at 3:20pm in Little Collins St is a mission!

Despite being in the process of closing up for the day, the super friendly guys at Zuppa took pity on me and I'm now enjoying one of the yummiest hot pork, rice and vegge bowls I've had in a very long time.

Thanks guys, you rock! And I'll definitely be back for a sandwich tomorrow :)
The new salads and Korean style sushi rolls are really great when you aren’t hungry hungry but you need something better than a light bite. The coffee has also recently improved.

Juan and Grace have always greeted me with the utmost respect and make the visits friendly and enjoyable. Plus the prices are very reasonable considering it’s CBD Melbourne.

Free - WTH ! I LOVE THIS PLACE .....today, I missed lunch as I was super busy and that's just life ! but I went for a walk around 3.30pm looking for a quick snack. I walked past Zuppa and the door was closed, but the staff smiled and opened the door...asked what I was after and I said a sandwich ! they then offered me x 2 for free as it was end of the day. SERIOUSLY..when was the last time did you experience such kind people ? To Zuppa - thank you for being amazing. To your staff - thank you for being truly amazing. You now have a life customer.
I ordered a triple bondi burger meal and it was terrible. The bread was soaking, almost as if it had been dipped in water. The chicken was plain and wet. Honestly one of the worst burgers I've ever had. When I had the burger in my hands, it kept falling apart because the bread was properly wet. Also while I was waiting for my food the fat manager kept yelling at her staff while they were taking orders. Never eating here again

the most delicious potato I have ever ate
you should try 😌
Amazing food 😍
Service/ place: we waited around 15 minutes to be seated for breakfast due to the high amount of guests - but absolutely worth the wait. Also we visited with our 8 month old son who where in a stroller and the staff where kind to allow the stroller inside.
The acoustic is a bit bad but not a real problem.
Food: We ordered the pretzel with avocado and the cale salad - both delicious. And a flat white ☕️ For next time I would save the salad for a lunch visit and order pretzel, sourdough or waffle with salmon. Thank you for a great experience!
Grabbed a late lunch/early dinner at Oporto pre seeing a play. I really recommend the burger as a double stack as even then the bun to patty ratio isn’t quite right. I like the oprego sauce though

The only problem I have is that I only have one stomach but theres so many dishes I want to try. I ordered the soft shell crab curry, pork rib soup and red duck curry. My friends ordered thai beef with basil and lots of others and everything was great
Definitely need to come here multiple times to try all the dishes

Love the ricotta hot cakes. To me, the portion was huge, it is better to share the sweet and order another savory selections for yourself. We tried several dishes and everything was good.

The food and service were nice, we love the place and we visited this restaurant twice in our short trip. And we would love to dine here again when we visited Melbourne in another time.

Juan and Grace and amazing always serve with a friendly smile. Foods really good with a wide variety. Coffee is great with a speedy service time. Well managed place highly recommend!!!
First time eating lunch here and it was an amazing experience! Even though it was very busy, I got a table fairly quickly and service was really good. I ordered the Spiced Pulled Pork and a small Mocha and was very impressed with how fast my order was served. The atmosphere is really nice and it is located in a beautiful area filled with plants on Guildford Lane. Highly recommend this cafe for its amazing service, tasty food and coffee, and nice atmosphere!

Buzzing cafe, plenty of people in Q at 10.30am on a Sunday. My order was served at 11.15am. Coffee is on the milder side, and not bad. I had the corn chill waffle and was pleasantly surprised by the spice level - it’s not low. I added bacon to my order, and it was good.

Services was terrible.
Go with a dog, so we are sitting outside. Waited for half an hour to be seated on weekend which is normal on Sunday. After food served for half an hours, waitress came to ask if they can clear the table, and left the bill on our table.
The food is great, but if you wanna enjoy some times in a cafe, it is not a good option.

Every dish we ordered was amazing, service was lovely! Really enjoyed the spicy scrambled eggs on toast. Vego brother also liked the baba ganoush too. Only feedback is tables were too near each other, was uncomfortable for the neighboring table and I when we kept getting into each others way while having brunch.
We had to wait 25 minutes before entering the restaurant and then had to sit on a shared table. However, the food was nice. I had the spiced grilled pumpkin which was vegetarian and my boyfriend had the red chili scrambled eggs. We both enjoyed our lunch here.

Grabbed takeaway so can’t rate service, can definitely rate the food however.
We ordered Chicken Pad Thai, Crying Tiger Beef and Devil Tom Yum.
Chicken Pad Thai was authentic, perfect balance of flavours and a decent sized serve.
Crying Tiger Beef was tender, cooked to perfection and well flavoured. House made chilli fish sauce was a perfect match for the beef, making for a damn good dish.
Tom Yum was level 2 spicy, it had a fair kick to it. Quality ingredients, authentic taste and one of the best Tom Yum I have had in Melbourne.

Overall I rate Dodee Paidang as one of the best Thai restaurants in the CBD, highly recommend a visit as they do some damn decent deals.
Great food in terms of the prices. Customer service amazing as always. Most importantly, always super reliable.

Both times I've been here, I have been served and greeted so well.. so unexpected by fast food chain, and it never stood out to me before. So I wanted to leave the compliment and say the customer service at this particular store is probably one of the best for a fast food chain. The counter was also clean, food came out quickly for me too. I think you guys are doing great!

Surprising back-alley Café, with a chill, well-presented vibe, great coffee for your little hideaway me-time in the city. So, let’s break it down…

Atmosphere: ****
Excellently presented, clean, welcoming and the décor is an amazing fit for a place that is literally in an off-street ally. It honestly seems like the perfect get away inside the city if you want to zone out the hustle and bustle of the city. My only disappointment is that the front counter and menus seem cluttered and compressed - the specials board is way off to the right. Had I have seen it; I would have ordered the omelette. Otherwise, it is awesome!

Customer Service: ****
It was early in the morning, and it seemed like the representative was a little distracted, which could have explained the latte I received and not the flat white. I drink both, so it wasn’t an issue but still.
Apart from that the service was impeccable and so was the timing. Well Done.

Food (Why we are here): ****
Order: Bacon, Egg Cheese Muffin with Tomato Relish & large skinny flat white
Muffin: It was pre-prepared and ready to go – but it was delicious, it was the relish which added the extra tasty goodness.
Coffee: While it was supposed to be a flat white, the latte and coffee was excellent. Great temperature, excellent flavour and very morish. Was very tempted to grab a takeaway for the road when finished.

Overall: ****
While there are small improvements to be made, I wasn’t disappointed with the quality of food that was provided, and it was a nice place to warm up to your working day. If I'm back this way again, I will certainly be getting another coffee. Thank you, Cafinatics.

Food is very tasty but not quite authentic Thai. The noodle soup was soggy (over-boiled) for my taste. The pork skewers were delicious. Price is average for the servings. Service is fast and the atmosphere feels like a typical food court.

We are from out of town so when we spotted this place we didn’t have any presumption of what we were walking into. One of the wait staff was kind enough to point out a safe spot for our luggage while we sat at a table nearby.
The atmosphere was nice, someone did take our drink order quickly however for the amount of staff working this morning it did take a while for someone to take our food order. But oh boy we LOVED the food. So deliciously good. The one thing we want to give genuine feedback on was with the drinks. I did kindly ask when my iced long black came out in a rather small short mug if they wouldn’t mind putting it in a tall glass for me, and my friend loved the apple juice, but it went warm because there was no ice in it, a couple of ice cubes would have been the cherry on top. If I’m back in the area I’d definitely pop in again.

If you are looking for a nice French experience. Then this is the place. It's cosy, very french like, and even the people serving all speak english with french accent. I felt it added to my experience. The crepe we had was really tasty. If you are coming with a large group, you will need to book in advance. However, 2 people were easy to fit without booking. Def. Will come back for more

A lovely cafe for authentic French crepes and galettes. Generous portions and fresh ingredients. There was a mix up with coffee orders regarding number of shots being added - ended up being weaker than expected. Suzette was OK but has been better in the past. But all in all, a lovely experience and we're happy to come back again.
Great little food court with good prices, decent food and lots of seating.
Perhaps 5 or 6 different stalls, Indian & Middle Eastern type food.

The food here is SO good. It's definitely in top 3 places I've eaten in Melbourne, might even be a favourite. We ordered a Capri gallete, that had the most delicious basil pesto and the sweet flambéed crêpe hit the spot. I am coeliac and felt the staff was knowledgeable and accomodationg. Looking forward to returning and recommending to other people.
The burgers are dry and the brekkie deal didn't taste good. Not only was it greasy, the flavor wasnt great either. Overall, I wouldn't have it again
WORTH THE WAIT
Even on a rainy day.

The Galettes are naturally Gluten Free, and the Crepes have Gluten Free options. All four of us could not fault the food, the atmosphere or the service.
Our servers spoke French & for a moment I had to remind myself I was still in Melbourne & not in France.

A huge variety of savoury & of sweet options.
Lots of alternative milk options for your coffees.

I will be back to try more of the menu that is for sure.

Never really tried French cuisine at a proper venue until a coworker recommended this place to me. Service and the staff were super friendly and fun. Atmosphere was very nice; warm and cozy and not too loud. The savoury crepes (galettes) were crispy and tasty. Dessert crepe was beautiful (felt guilty eating it as it looked too pretty). Verdict? Highly satisfactory, especially the staff 😊

I've never been served baguette slices fried in olive oil as the "toast" part of "toasted baguette with jam". I still have the taste in my mouth... not in a good way!

I will say the staff are lovely and the coffee is very good - so if that's all you want, you're onto a winner.

One of the best Thai food!

- Best pork bone soup provides well-balanced multiple flavors. Strongly recommend!

- Stir fry crispy pork with water spinach is so yum to serve with rice.

- Green papaya salad itself is so freshly appetizing. However, too much deep fried side dishes in the combo deal.

- Raw prawn salad is little bit spicy which to some extent other ingredient's flavor

Dined in for lunch and I would say it was so good food was spot on and customer service was 5/5. I would say menu was bit overpriced as compared to portion size. Tables are so close to each other there is hardly any privacy.
Talking about place I would recommend this for good food and good coffee.

Went here for lunch on a Wednesday and they were able to seat us for an hour without a booking. This is not a casual dining place – STRONGLY recommend making a reservation so you don’t feel rushed like we did.

We were seated in the right corner which was dark and close to the kitchen so could hear the sound of clashing cutlery for most of the meal.

The food itself was delicious! Kudos to the chefs. Between two adults we shared a chicken schnitzel and the chicken pasta special. Pasta was al dente and chicken schnitty was huge and succulent.

The wine selection is also divine - the Pinot Noir was a great way to wash the pasta down. Will go back to try the other dishes and coffee but again, make a booking.

I recommend a galette with truffle oil 😋 I had 'Complete a la Roule Galette', and the egg, ham and cheese went really well with truffle oil!
Also, the coconut ice cream crepe (special menu) was very nice. Highly recommended 😊
However, the apple compote crepe lacked texture as the compote was made with grated apple.

I tried their eggs Benedict ($24) and it was delicious! You get a choice of bacon, ham, smoked salmon, pulled pork or mushrooms. Eggs were poached well. Hollandaise was thicker than expected but still deliciously creamy. Love how they provided a serrated knife to make eating it that much more pleasurable, and also gave a bottle of water and glass without having to ask. Mocha (small $5.50) was nice too. No surcharge on card. The entrance is actually on Downie St - if you just looked at Flinders Lane according to their google maps address, you may think the shop's closed and move on. Fast service - didn't wait long for order to be taken and food arrived within 10 minutes with drink arriving before that (August 2023)

Recently had the pleasure of visiting Cafenatics on Collins Street in Melbourne, we were immediately greeted by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The modern decor, coupled with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, instantly set the tone for a delightful visit.

We had cappuccino , english tea, spinach and eggs wrap and it was one of the best I've ever had - rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced.

The staff at Cafenatics deserve special praise for their friendliness and attentiveness. They were genuinely passionate about their craft and made sure every customer felt valued and comfortable.
Discovered this little gem of a location the other day walking along Collins Street looking for coffee. Not well sign posted and not really visible sort of tucked in behind a office building entry. It is like a small minature food court with 4 take away places inside and seating in the middle. The beauty of this place is that it is small but with a wide selection of food available from the different venues. Prices is what surprised me with a coffee and a cooked breakfast for under $15. This is not a destination location so it is not worth travelling distance for but if in prixcimity give it a go. Wont hurt your wallet. I had breaky from the cafe on the east side. All their cooked breakfast were around the $10-$13 range. Recommend a visit if hapoen to be nearby.

So I recently visited this cafe to treat myself with a nice brunch. First, they put water on the table and there’s something black floating on top when I pour water. I told them and they changed the glass which felt a little warm and then I sniffed it and I could literally smell egg. I ordered chai late and asked for honey in it but they ignored my request. Food was good but this experience made it bad.

I have tried this kind of food somewhere else but this one was so tasty and cooked well with all enough souse. I got one cheesy fried potato which was one of the best fried I have tasted in this town.

I only had the beef cheek baguette, however I have to say it is definitely in the top 5 best baguettes I’ve ever had.

The bread was fluffy and did not destroy the roof of your mouth while eating it. The beef cheek was tender and juicy, and it comes with a dipping sauce on the side, which makes the flavours burst in your mouth.

At the time of this review it was $26 for the beef cheek Baguette.

Such friendly workers that nake you feel welcome the second you step into the door. They greet you with a smile. Their rice pudding with berries was refreshing and tasty. I did not realise how little was open on a Sunday! Friend and I were looking for places close to MCEC and wanted brunch - this was around 10:45am. We initially wanted to go to another cafe close by but when we got there people were queued up and we were so hangry and impatient!

We ended up looking for this little gem instead (through a quick google maps look at what else could be around). It was also very full but we ended up only waiting for 8 or so minutes for a table for 2 and it was very quick service. Staff were attentive and kind and the food hit the spot when we needed it most! We ordered our coffees first and got a skinny latte and an oat cap. Then for food we got an eggs benedict and an avo toast with smoked salmon. My one was the avo toast, and it tasted super fresh. Nothing special in terms of flavours, but a yummy and classic fave.

Overall a pleasant experience. We spent about 30ish each.

A really nice and sleek cafe that’s perfect for a date or fancy “every now and then” work lunch. We had the beef cheeks sandwich and it was straight fire 🔥!

The bread is super crispy on the outside but is soft and gives way to the ultra tender beef cheeks that sits in the middle. Perfect for dipping into that tomato dip they have!

For 25 bucks it’s on the pricey end but well worth the experience! Would come again

Lovely little bar but no draught beer which was a surprise and a lack of Melbourne beers too.

Nice if slightly confused service. I asked for draught and the lady didn't know what it was.

Nice and relaxed place to go and meet friends although the view is an office entrance/exit!
Affordable food, quick service and friendly staff. Do try their salads. I bought a Quarter Chicken Box ($12.75) which after a $5 discount from the app came to be $7.75. Quite satisfied!

Staff are sweet ,food is tasty
Not many coffee or take away to choose from, but what they do have is enough as all the food outlets are delicious and always busy at lunch. Food variety is great. If your looking for persion, Indian, or asian cuisine or if you just want a fresh juice, then you should go have a look. If you have time, many seats to eat in or if you are on the run, get it as take away. All staff are great and alway serve with a smile on their face.
A quiet little cafe near to Southern Cross station serving good coffee and tasty food. A range of savoury brunch options on offer with friendly attentive staff. Slightly overpriced but overall a solid brunch menu. We had the eggs florentine with smoked salmon, and poached eggs on toast. Both were tasty and a good attempt at brunch staples. If you’re in Melbourne for a while it’s worth popping in.

Coffee was 10/10, I wouldn't say it was the best one I've had, but it's very unique, aromatic, and full of flavour. They use some of the best beans in Melbourne. We had sardines and the beef cheek sandwich. The Napoli dip served with the beef sandwich was phenomenal, the sardines were good too. Definitely recommended popping by for coffee, food, and drinks specials

A restaurant in the CBD frequented by workers around the area, open only during the weekdays with dinner services on Thursday and Friday. Dined here and ordered the following:

- Flat white; pretty good coffee but a little milky
- Fromage croquette; lightly salted and perfectly crispy with a very tasty and creamy cheese filling
- Beef cheek sandwich with mozzarella, pesto and a side of napoli dip; baguette had a nice crunch and was not tough; meat was tender and the napoli dip was slightly tangy, adding another dimension of flavour to the sandwich

Overall good meal and service; would be great if there was a little bit more beef cheek in the sandwich. Highlight was the fromage croquette.

A comparatively small food court, with a great range of cuisine. Very clean and conveniently located in the heart of Collins Street.

Cafenatics is a great place for coffee or a meal
The people here are friendly and professional.
Had their porridge and coffee this morning. The coffee is always great. The porridge is my first here, and it’s amazing. And a huge portion too.

They are finally getting busier after Covid lockdowns which is great to see. But doesn’t matter how busy, they always give great service.

It’s one of my “go to” cafes in the city

Sometimes you just need to keep it simple.

Amazing coffee... Quick, simple and tasty food... What more could you ask for when you're on your way to work or meeting for a quick coffee? This cute little cafe has it all.

The avo toast is my favourite but the rest of the menu won't disappoint. This place is quickly becoming my regular when I visit Melbourne for work.
Great coffee and toastie at the front shop... Shame the Banh Mi lady was still setting up, best time of day for Banh Mi is breakfast... Especially if they do a Banh Mi Op La

Melbourne is full of hidden gems, and Higher Ground definitely falls into that category. Tucked away in a heritage-listed building, it's not your typical cafe. It has this cool industrial-chic vibe, with exposed brick walls and a multi-level layout that feels both spacious and intimate.

I went for brunch and was blown away by the menu. It's not your average fare - think avocado pretzel with a fancy twist or fiery chili scrambled eggs. I opted for the ricotta hotcakes with poached pears and maple syrup, and it was divine. The portion was perfect, the flavors were perfectly balanced, and the presentation was beautiful.

The service was another highlight. The staff were friendly and attentive, without being overbearing. They were happy to answer my questions about the menu and the building's history, which added to the whole experience.

Overall, Higher Ground is a fantastic spot for a special occasion or just a treat. It's a bit on the pricier side, but the quality of the food, the ambiance, and the service definitely justify the cost. I left feeling satisfied and already planning my next visit!
OK. The vietnamese place has replaced NY Burger. And they have 2 vegan roll and rice paper roll options. Yay!

Found on eatclub, this cafe is tucked away in a side lane off Collins st. First impression is this place is popular with all the office workers around. Table service is available and the staff are all friendly and welcoming.

The wild mushrooms was a good portion, had an amazingnearthly flavour from the truffle oil and the egg on top was poached perfectly.

Good:
Perfectly cooked egg
Truffle oil
Generous portions
Great coffee
Friendly service
Book through eatclub for 35%off

Bad:
Not the easiest to find
Bathrooms off site.

Verdict:
Good meals, friendly service, eatclub discount. Would recommend.

After a long day exploring Melbourne, I stumbled upon Dodee Paidang and it was a flavor explosion! I wasn't sure what to expect from Thai street food, but this place definitely delivered. The atmosphere was buzzing - lots of happy diners and the staff were friendly and helpful.

I opted for the DoDee Variety noodles, and let me tell you, the hype was real. Each bite was a burst of flavor - savory, tangy, a little bit of heat - it was incredible. My friend got the Pad See Ew, and while I wasn't brave enough to try it myself (turns out I'm a bit of a lightweight when it comes to spice!), she raved about it. We also shared a soft shell crab salad - crispy, fresh, and bursting with deliciousness.

Overall, Dodee Paidang was a fantastic find. It was the perfect combination of delicious, authentic food, a fun vibe, and friendly service. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a taste of Thailand in Melbourne.
This is a small food plaza but has a few good stores and variety, such as Sri Lankan, burgers, Chinese, African, sandwich and salad and coffees. Would be 5 stars if there's more seats.
