Salt is nestled in Toronto's vibey Ossington street is a delightful escape to European charm. You dine among the bottles with romantic ambiance and an impressive array of tapas paired with exquisite Portuguese wines. It’s a haven for wine enthusiasts and foodies alike. The attentive service and intimate atmosphere make it an ideal choice for a date or girls night.
I saw the great reviews and wanted to bring my fiance to a place that reminded us of our time in Spain having tapas... This was the complete opposite. I'm pretty sure this is not a fine finish restaurant yet serving lobster ceviche with absolutely as minimal possible food you can serve someone is just embarrassing. When I showed other friends the portion that was served to us they asked "where is the food"? That was the main question the entire night after ordering multiple options and feeling unsatisfied by the end. The flavors were good but I cannot justify this experience with a good looking plate. I was not expecting to eat art but actual tapas at this restaurant. I was very embarrassed to bring my fiance for her birthday dinner here and I certainly will not recommend coming here, just like the server did not recommend anything when we asked for his opinion too I can see why now.
Came with my husband for the Valentine’s Day Prix Fixe and we were far from disappointed. We had a charcuterie plank with truffled manchego, beet salad with burrata and watercress, scallop crudo, duck confit, paella, vanilla pot de creme and a dark chocolate cake. All spectacular and super flavourful. Service was friendly and efficient. Would absolutely return to try the regular menu as our server promised there were even better things to order.
I came on a Monday at 2:30pm. Rang the bell and was met with a gentleman who said greetings when he met me. I was amazed, he was going at it while baking the pizzas. He offered salami with honey, pepperoni, cheese and vegetarian. This establishment is professional and honey and clean. The gentleman working was quite nice and thoughtful. I recommended this establishment. Slices are available 12-4 and dine in 5pm-closing.
Heard and seen a lot about their pizza on social media so it’s been on my list to try for a while.
We got the burrata and honey pizza and it was really good. The combination of the creamy burrata, slightly acidic marinara sauce and sweet hot honey is unmatched. The basil was the perfect addition for that pop of freshness. I like how thin the crust is, while being not floppy when you hold a slice.
Service was fine. They’re not running to serve you or overly friendly. It’s a good, busy and casual vibe.

Dinner was amazing here, the ambiance is super cozy and not as obnoxious as some places in king west.
Has some very interesting non traditional French fare. The short rib Wellington was unique and delicious. The pastas were all perfectly made and cooked and totally worth getting two for the two of us. Happy hour drinks before 7 were a great value too!

This used to be a great spot for business lunches, today we were in there for a meal for 5 people and after 2 hours, we left and not a single plate of food had been brought to our tables. It's a shame as this place used to be good, definitely some problems at the moment that need to be sorted asap.
Pizza was average at best. Friends got pasta and the pasta looked better than the pizza. Drinks were alright. Service was nice and the atmosphere was cool and intimate. Fans of The Simpsons will enjoy the names of the cocktails. Overall, the food was just okay.
I have had many business related meals here over the years as I work in the area... decided to entertain some friends on a Saturday evening and made a reservation for 8 people. I was just informed that the restaurant was bought out for that same night and they had to cancel my reservation. No alternative arrangements were offered, just a "sorry" nothing we can do. Very disappointed with the lack of service and effort to accommodate.

Tried it for the first time on a whim and it was delicious. I was a little surprised at how things worked since we saw pictures of an older menu but it was great once we understood to order some meats to share and the order sides. 👌
The appetizer portions were on the smaller side, but it suited the rich and decadent flavors. The duck and steak were both amazing! Only critique would be some of the fries were a little too salty.
Overall 5/5 I'd love to eat here again soon!

This is amazing!! Everyone needs to go here and experience this heavenly combo of gelatine and wine (who would have thought?). The owners and staff are amazing and friendly. They have plenty of flavours to choose from and also seasons flavours. They always suggest the best wine to pair with. My go to on the menu is the tasting flight. It’s a cute little shop that you’ll visit again and again!!
The atmosphere is nice for a girls night or a romantic date and service was good but the food wasn't as exciting as I'd hoped. We ordered the foie, oysters, squash fritters (croquettes), rock shrimp aka popcorn shrimp, branzino (tasted like nothing) with sides of spinach and fries. To be honest my favorite dish was the fries which were gigantic and excellent, followed by the foie, which was reminiscent of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and could have made great dessert. The St Germain & Prosecco cocktail was too sweet for my liking but I did enjoy the Jalesco cocktail.
They were kind enough to bring a bday dessert since we were celebrating and that was actually good.
Overall, it wasn't a great food experience for me and I wouldn't go back considering the price for not an amazing meal. Not sure if I'd recommend it to a friend either.

On the western end of King St (cross with Bathurst), Lapinou is a warm and inviting restaurant located in a refurbished industrial style building...with original red brick walls and exposed timber beams. The food style is difficult to describe...a modern continental take on French cuisine would be my best effort (see the menu image for reference). Generally the plates are probably best shared so that everyone can enjoy and the portion sizes are of decent amounts.
For our meal we have a wide assortment. To start we had Fresh Bread and Olives (very good), Squash Croquettes (excellent), Branzino Crudo (excellent), Rock Shrimp (very good) and Wagyu Sliders (also very good). For our mains we ordered Wagyu & Frites (very good), Whole Branzino (excellent), Caeser Salad (very good...using endives), Steak & Frites (also very good), , Grilled Swordfish (excellent) supported by the two sides of Fries (interesting take as they are embedded with vinegar) and Spinach (excellent). We were stuffed so only had the Hzaelnut Cremeux and Brown Butter Tart for dessert...both were very good but very sweet!.

Came for a nice evening dinner, great friendly service we got the duck to share it was really good tender and cooked just right best duck i have had in awhile and the sauce was great, we order a side fries with aioli sauce the fries were amazing so crispy and chunky i couldn't stop eating and i wish it was a bigger portion it was so good.
The seat was cozy and just a great dinner experience definitely recommend. Forgot to Mention the butter tart foam ice cream dessert our server recommended and it was fantastic very unique and delicious to eat

This tiny hidden gem was an amazing accidental discovery by me and a friend. we wanted a gelato after our brunch and this was right across the street from the kettle! N it's absolutely amazing..it's gelato an wine pairing called a "flight" for $26 was just a dream dessert. They pair any flavor of gelato you choose with a wine...we had the lemon with Prosecco, raspberry with a rose and I DIED after having their chocolate with the roberso. Would totally recommend for a girls hang! The place has patio seating as well the inside is a little small...but was perfect for us.

Amazing food experience! Finally a place with a chef who knows how to make traditional, exceptional. A must to try! The inside is clean, upscale, but not at all stuffy. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable not only of the food he was serving, but also with the wine list. His suggested pairing of wine with my main was perfect. Prices are spot on for this level in the downtown core. Cannot wait to try the new menu. Must try appetizers “stratcciatella” “grilled calamari”
Biagio was fantastic in every aspect. The food was just phenomenal. I especially liked the tiramisu. I was there with a private party, so obviously the atmosphere was great for me. But the overall service and ambiance of the restaurant was certainly in it’s on class.
Food was delicious, a little on the salty side but overall very enjoyable. I would go back. Service was amazing and servers were very attentive. Ambiance was lacking, very quiet with no music or background noise.
From the bread to the dessert, hands down to how they cook here in Italian perfection. Come hungry, and you will leave full, you never have to think about the portions or serving size, because they’re big on taste and flavours. And her. You have no less that Señor Biagio overseeing the service, you’re sure to get the feeling and comfort of being served in an Italian home.
We walked in around 5:30 and got a table right away. Place is lovely and the food was fantastic. We got calamari and an 18 inch pizza with half salami and half spicy vodka. Service was nice, our waiter kept coming by with water and asking how everything was. Calamari was delicious and tender, I would recommend it if you are really into cumin seasoning. Really recommends the salami if your looking for sweet spicy and salty!
Came here for an early dinner and there patio was the only available seating. It was nice but very close on street. The huge pizza and Caesar salad was the best part about this place. Even though the pasta was good, the portion was way too small for the price. Also I appreciate casual staff and comfortable work environments but the host didn’t need to be vaping at the host stand. If I came back I would grab a slice to go.
We were served by Mike, he was incredible! All his recommendations were spot on, this is the perfect place to go for a date, meet with friends, meet with colleagues! We did the wine and gelato pairing and everything was chefs kiss! Can’t wait to come back

We got the sesame bread with honey butter, lamb ribs, and gnocchi. The sesame bread was served warm, the honey butter was sweet and salty. The Lamb ribs were firm and well cooked and seasoned. The gnocchi dish was very small, but they use high quality olive oil that I could taste. The food quality was very high.
For two people, this was not enough food (unless you have a small appetite). Prices are high for the portion size.
Washrooms are downstairs, inaccessible.

They also had Monday half price oysters that were very fresh and meaty. Highly recommend this place if you’re on the Ossington strip.
Not a bad gelato spot. Just wish there were more flavors. Mint chocolate chip was loaded with chips. It was bomb. The cookie crumble was lacking cookie for me. Wish there was more.
Food is good and consistent, however, the quality of service could definitely be improved upon. Of the few times I've been there, wait staff is almost nowhere to be seen. Not all menus are provided (I'm always asking for a dessert menu and unsure why this can't be provided from the start) and wait staff is often times unattentive.

A TikTok find ended up being one of the most pleasurable nights out in a while. The gelato and wine pairing is a must. The flavours of both are delicious and some pairings were mind blowing.
The service from Jade was also phenomenal. Cannot recommend enough.

Part of Michelin’s recommendations for Toronto, Lapinou offers a ‘globally-inspired’ French cuisine, and it’s a great experience.

The food here is really something special, usually a twist on a French favourite. I enjoyed the French onion tart, which is play on the ‘skin’ of the French onion soup. The duck is amazing, tho recommend an accompanying side as it’s just duck breast. The baby gem salad is fresh and delicious, though a small portion. They have a wide selection of wines as their name would suggest and a tapas style menu. We were recommended to share 4-5 dishes between the two of us.
We started with the Charcuterie which was a selection of 3 dried meats chosen by the chef. The crostini and meats were excellent together.
Our next dish was the Red Prawn Ceviche. This was my favourite. It was very refreshing and seasoned wonderfully. The tortilla chips were very good as well.
Then followed the Steak Tartare. This one was okay. The mustard and pickles were a tad strong for our liking.
As our mains, we ordered the Smoked Iberico Pork Ribs, the Paella, and the Patatas Bravas.
The ribs were seasoned well and so tender the meat fell off the bone. Yum!
The Paella was cooked just enough with both seafood and bits of meat which was a nice combination. We liked that the rice wasn’t over cooked.
The Patatas Bravas was hot and crispy and the tangy tomato sauce was a nice compliment.

I have tried a few from this place and it never disappoints. The atmosphere inside is nice and cozy. You can also order and eat outside on the patio (they don’t serve out there)

Came here for brunch and the food and drinks were delicious! The server recommended to share 2-3 dishes between the two of us and two dishes was the perfect amount. They gave us new sharing plates between dishes which I really appreciate. Service was friendly and fast and the atmosphere was bright and comfortable.
Wonderful Experience. The tasting menu we tried was one of a kind. Very unique and well-thought when it comes to the presentation of the food. The waiters are also very professional. A few of the courses I felt could have been better. There was a dish called pigs trotter which we did not enjoy too much. It was overall a great fine dining experience with spectacular views from the 54th floor of the TD building. I would recommend it to anyone who's ok with spending a bit to indulge in some unique fine dining cuisine.

My husband and I were visiting from the Niagara region. We had booked this reservation weeks ago! It was worth the wait… we shared the chefs tasting menu. I have some food allergies and they were very careful to pay attention to that. Two courses were especially prepared for me. Our server explained every stage of the menu and was very attentive and friendly. We will go back!! What a great experience!!

The venison tartare was so bad, worse presentation I’ve ever seen. The halibut was dry.

Just felt that the dishes served lacked presentation but we're prepared well and great service.
One of the best Italian restaurants I have ever been to. We had the Berry Martini Mocktails, we found them to be the perfect blend of sour and sweet. I do have allergies and they were very accommodating. The beef carpaccio was melt in your mouth delicious, and accompaniments delicious. I had the Sweet Potato Gnocchi w Beef cheek and it was absolutely amazing. My boyfriend had the Butternut Squash ravioli, and it was buttery and satisfying. For dessert, the Affogato, biscotti, and Blu cake were the perfect way to round off. This is definitely the place for you to splurge and eat your way around the menu!

I tried the passion fruit and raspberry sorbet, very refreshing on a summer afternoon. The raspberry was slightly on the sweeter side. However the acidity of the passion fruit balanced it out. The staff are super friendly and explained the flavours very well and a must try if you're in the neighborhood

Went to Bar Koukla and the lamb was amazing – literally melted in my mouth. But they tried to squeeze three of us at a table for two, even though we had a reservation. We had to move a table ourselves to fit. Food was great, but the whole table thing was weird. Portions were small too. Overall, it was good but could be better.

My friend and I visited Koukla for dinner/ drinks on a Tuesday night and it was so lovely. The staff were kind and offered great suggestions and alternatives. The cocktails were beautifully presented and delicious. The dishes paired so well with the cocktails and were brought out in pairs. We couldn’t decide between the Lachaniká feta dip and the eggplant dip so we got both and it was a great decision. Opt for more or the pita bread to soak up every bit of that dip!
The lamb ribs were so succulent and tender and just fell right off the bone. We didn’t stay for dessert but chose the Feta instead which was a phyllo pastry stuffed feta drizzled with a syrup, bee pollen, sesame seeds snd pomegranate. It was a lovely way to end the evening.

I've searched far and wide to find pistachio gelato with the same full flavor as the ones I've tried in Italy. Well, I've found it here. Don't be put off by the bright green color (normally a marker of sub-par pistachio gelato - in Italy it's white), this is the real deal. I was speaking with the staff and they import the pistachios from Turkey (which, according to my wife's research, produce the most flavorful nuts, along with Iran and Sicily) and make the gelato on the premises. My teen and tween both had some type of double chocolate gelato and said it was very good. The waffle cone was nice and crisp.
Fabulous dining experience. Waiter was so personable. We had the chef’s tasting and the every course was exquisite and complex and totally outstanding. The gin and tonic course was quite a pleasant surprise of flavors. Love how they bring them out and explain them. So much goes into each of them. The atmosphere is stunningly beautiful at night.
Amazing calamari fritti, incredible rack of lamb and fettuccine Alfredo!!!! And of course, the tiramisu was divine!

Nice Italian restaurant, perfect smiky staffs. Enzo was our waiter, they did a wrong salad with bacon (we asked without) and even they made a new one cause of our children got upset first, they didn't charge us. I appreciate.

Lobster Ravioli from the regular menu was the best menu out of other menu we tried.

We choose Blu for my daughter's wedding dinner with a guest count of 26. The restaurant provided us with a nice semi-private space for our event, and we opted for a fixed menu that offered a well-balanced selection of 4 appetizers, 4 main dishes, and 4 types of desserts. It was wonderful to have the freedom to choose our drinks as well.
The food and the overall atmosphere were very satisfying. All the dishes from the menu were top-notch in terms of taste and presentation, leaving a spectacular impression on everyone; our guests thoroughly enjoyed the evening and wished the newlyweds well.

Stopped by for a quick slice and really enjoyed it. we saw that the cheese pizza came out fresh so we got a slice with their creamy garlic dip. Solid pie with a crisp and tasty crust, aromatic tomato sauce and lots of cheese. The dip was also stellar with great garlic and parmesan flavours. Nice guy working out front as well.

What a wonderful experience!! The food here was top notch, well presented and extremely tasty. Our server Roberto was friendly, chatty and gave us great food and wine recommendations. The restaurant itself had a bright airy atmosphere though it could use a little of an update. The washrooms are not connected to the restaurant and located in the basement in the building. It was very dimly lit and felt pretty sketch.
Went to Modus with a group of friends for dinner. Food and drinks were fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed the watermelon salad, grilled calamari and the lobster fettuccine in squid ink. Service was impeccable. Our server was funny and attentive. The owner was courteous and kind and made sure we were taken care of. There is underground parking in the same building, super convenient. It’s a great place for business lunches/dinners, special occasions or just a night out.

Great experience. Came with a group of 8 for a celebratory dinner with the summerlicious menu. Service was very attentive & patient, waiting for all members to show up before we order food. All courses were brought out simultaneously & they were full of flavour, hot & presented well. It was a nice night out in a beautiful location & I would return again for regular menu.
Had a great dinner at Koukla. Went Sunday night and had to wait for about 45 mins. Great service, nice atmosphere with a very educated staff. Asked the server to get us 4 of the most popular dishes and they did not disappoint. The steak and lamb ribs were both some of the best dishes I’ve had in Toronto. 100% recommend.
The tasting menu was very delicious - couldn’t find any faults; however, the service was not up to par. Wish I was able to enjoy the food without constantly being interrupted asking how the dish is. Nonetheless I think Canoe serves really good food and is definitely worth a try!
Cibo is a good spot. The food was good and arrived quickly. The pappardelle was our favorite. The anchini had a nice crispy outside and melted center, just as it should.

Food is always consistent but the service isn’t which is why it’s a 4 star and not 5. The service is either impeccable or mediocre at best. But because the food quality and flavour is always consistent I’ve returned on multiple occasions and will continue to! It’s definitely worth it. Every pasta I’ve tried has been flavourful and satisfying.
Came here for brunch/lunch and had a great experience. Highly recommend the polenta fries although they are not on the brunch menu. Great service. Definitely more of a dinner place, but you can’t beat bottomless mimosas for $30🤩

Friendly service and great vibe! We sat on the patio and it started to rain so they moved us inside and we were glad they did! The restaurant had live music inside and the musician was amazing. Food was great and we recommend the ribeye and carpaccio but all of the food that we had at our table of 5 was great! Highly recommend!
We tried the tasting menu. Food was great, presentation excellent. Strawberry dessert is our favorite, followed by the scallops and oyster. Pork Trotter dish was a little strange, nevertheless still delicious.

What a great experience, booked our corporate holiday dinner at Blu Ristorante. Yes this review is a bit late coming but people are still raving about the impeccable service especially from their friendly and knowledgeable staff (Mauricio, Luis, David and Nasir - I made sure I wrote down their names for this review)! Do yourself a favour and make sure you make it here at least once because the food was amazing, from the appetizer to dessert. I didn't get a picture of the all the options but these ones still bring back the memories of our night at Blu. Thanks to all the staff, and a shout out to Kamila (Event Coordinator) and Jeff (Manager).
First time going there. Very attentive service, super assortment of wines and cocktails, beers also available. We had beet salad, cod croquettes, Wagyu sliders, olives and piri piri chicken it was all tasty. For dessert the chocolate mousse cake was very delicious the Americano coffee was good. It was very loud and the restaurant was only partially full.
We had winterlicious lunch menu, which includes Veal and Calamari as main course. They are very fresh and tender. I like the atmosphere of the setting of the restaurant and we also were told how to pronounce the bill amount in Italy, quite impressive and friendly.

One of the best thin crust pizzas I have had in Toronto. The vodka sauce pizza was excellent. My only complaint is that I wish they had more appetizers and small dishes considering the size of their pies. A small size will suffice for 2 people and a large one will be more than enough. We got 2 large and a small for 4 people and had 1 whole pie left. Their service staff are great with Nice location and atmosphere too! The value and quality is definitely there
The salmon tartare with crème fraiche was delish. Aside from that dish, I didn't overly enjoy anything else. Service was fine. The decor was pretty, but it's not enough positives to draw me back.
1st time here and we were blown away by the service and delicious food. Everything tastes great but the steak tartar and the chocolate terrine dessert just blew our mind. Service could not be more excellent. For drinks, highly recommend the smoky old fashion that is very rich but complex and flavorful and not heavy. Will absolutely be back.

Great food, ambience and services. Most of the dishes are delicious, fresh and executed very well. My favorites are the grilled calamari, grilled prawns and saffron risottos with seared scallops. Bread and side dishes are also very decent. Highly recommended for business lunch. Service was very attentive and efficient.
Celebrated New Years Eve Dinner and the food was exceptionally good. Service was top notch and I can appreciate the old school service of having experienced men serve us. Price point was worth all the good flavours in our dishes. It was cooked to perfection. We will definitely be back to enjoy the other dishes.
Nice gelato place on queens quay. Great variety. We tried the peanut butter and jam and the taste was spot on. Just what you would expect. There is a tiny park with benches nearby as well.
Good flavors! Pistachios was amazing! Smooth, creamy and the nuts just give the gelato texture. The biscotti was a little confusing flavor. But the rest taste great!

The locale itself is small, but they did the best with the space they have and make it tool very welcoming on the outside and cozy on the inside.
As you approach the place, there is a chalkboard with the days' special or a nice message. Once inside, the same chalk is used on the walls. To the end there is a set of couch love seats waiting for you to enjoy the frozen treat.
Some flavors are very original, or at least not found everywhere, such as Mascarpone and Black Grey English tea, which by the way, it really tastes like it.
I gave it a 4 star because, being as cold as it is in Canada, even if we're in spring, if you have a machine to make specialty coffees, then you ought to have some tea to sell, which was what my wife needed instead, as we were about to go back to the hotel to call it a night. But hey, just something to think about.

Lemongrass sorbet and lemon ginger sorbet are of the hook! Yeah, not cheap but consider the location and c'mon, after you tasted that lemongrass sorbet on a hot summer day, you will go back and would pay twice as much to get it again.
