We frequent here for pre-theater food with our teens. We like to order shared plates from the appetizer menu. Favorites include the pork bao and the soup dumplings.
Great food! Authentic Cantonese! Disappointed with the lobster with ginger garlic sauce. There roast bbq selection was perfect. The Tao Miew veggies were fantastic.

Hadn't been here in a while because another Vietnamese restaurant near me was more conveniant. After a couple of bad experiences with that other restaurant, I returned to Pho Huong. It was just as good as the last time. The Pho was tasty and the broth comforting. Veggie fresh rolls delicious with or without the sauce. Will definitely go out of my way to get food hwre again.
We ordered Ubereats takeout. This place messed up our order. We ordered chicken Chow Mein but they gave us over fried noodles with no chicken.

Disappointing. We won't order from here again.

Fyi the app gave us our money back for that dish.

food was great we had to come back after a few hours! love the roasted baby pig and duck. Food comes so quick and the portions are great!
This is kind of a hidden place at the 3rd floor of the building in China Town. From downstairs you won’t feel anything like upstairs. Once you get into the restaurant, you will wonder where all these people came from! The dim sum is always excellent. The ladies pushing the dim sum carts are always eager to provide anything they have. Price is fine. A good place to go if you down to some good dim sum and don’t mind the crowds.

Delicious pho great portions amazing prices excellent customer service! Amazing spot in the junction! Looking for a new pho spot this is it! Also try the chicken wings-very yummy juicy and not too oily!
It's an alright place l. Food is good enough to satisfy your hunger. Portions are big for a family/group. Prices are reasonable. We weren't able to catch the Dim Sum service so we had to order food.

The General Tso was good not spicy enough for me. Noodles and veggies were on par.

The staff are nice enough but for an anglophone. It was a bit difficult and intimidating as everyone else in the place spoke their dialect so I assumed they didn't care for me as much as the others.

I would go again as a big group not as a couple looking for dinner.
This is pretty much all that I desire for a late night time Chinese feast. They have pretty much every classic that I want, and the most blessed BBQ pork I can't even believe it. Seriously quality food and good vibes. For $20 you can fill up on top tier shrimp wonton soup and a BBQ pork bowl?? Bless that.
Our server was awesome too. Fast and attentive.

Best late night spot in the GTA! One of my fav places to visit for fast, delicious & good ol Chinese food. They have an extensive menu ranging from dimsum to ala cart dishes. Love their chicken fried rice, chili chicken, chili shrimp wonton & crispy shrimp roll!!

Ordered from here via uber eats. They forgot half the order and portions are super stingy especially for paying extra to get an XL soup. Spring rolls were also burned likely from old oil. Do not recommend.
Best food ever, they moved to 388 Spadina Ave so make sure you set map to that as not at Dundas street location any more. I hunted for them. Hope they update Google maps

One of my favorite Chinese Hong Kong style restaurant in Toronto, portion is generous, taste is authentic, vibes is good.

Food is hot enough, service is awesome. I am just loving it.

I always like to try new dishes on everytime visit. Shrimp fried rice is my always favorite.
We had dinner here a while ago. I highly recommend this place, the food is very good! Dishes you should try: Dumpling pork soup, beef with black pepper and the pulled pork bao. Will come back more times :)

The place is very simple and no fuss, but the food is good.
Service is efficient as you would expect. There is no chit chat, just the menu and piece of paper to write down what you want.
Good place for good food.
Check out their lunch specials- legit Chinese! Presentation of food itself makes the visit worthwhile. Pleasantly surprised with this restaurant and the atmosphere. Good for business lunches.
Order 6 dishes and only half of them taste good. Congee, fried bun and beef noodle, others not fresh

We decided to stop by this House of Gourmet in Toronto’s Chinatown for a late dinner after our trip to the Niagara Falls. We were so happy that this restaurant opens till 1am on Sunday nights. We ordered the Shrimp Wanton with Egg Noodle Soup and also the Stewed Noodle with Wanton & Bbq Pork. Both dishes were so delicious and appetizing. The shrimp wantons were huge, tasted fresh and juicy. Both the dishes came in large portions and we couldn’t finish it all. So we asked for a box to take away.

Overall, they have a huge variety of dishes you can choose from the menus. Prices are affordable and reasonable. The waiters/ waitresses were friendly and quick to serve us our food. The atmosphere was a bit noisy but we’re ok with that. Will definitely come back to try the other dishes next time!

Had lunch there today. Despite the exterior facade, the interior was relaxed and well appointed, and the menu did not disappoint. I'll be back.
Loved the decor of the restaurant and we went fairly early for dinner so it was nice and quiet and not too many other tables. Food was delicious, (so good I couldn’t help but start eating it before I remembered to take photos) waiters were very accommodating as we had a film to catch down the street and had to be in and out quick. The ONLY thing that kept it from 5 stars was there was a bit of a funky smell from the minute I walked in that detracted from the otherwise lovely atmosphere. Kind of had a feet or BO smell. Once the food got there i couldn’t smell it anymore as I just smelled the delicious dumplings and bao, but it was kinda weird. And it was from the second I walked in I noticed it and we weren’t seated near anyone so I don’t think it was another patron giving off the smell.

Our lunch was very good. Just happened to stumble upon this restaurant as we were walking around Toronto. We both very much enjoyed our food. Shrimp pad thai and sweet and sour chicken. Servers were very attentive - almost too attentive. Highly recommend

Amazing food. I got general tso tofu and it was the lightest tofu I've ever had and best sauce as well. Highly recommend it!
It was my first time going to an authentic Dim Sum restaurant where they push the carts around and you pick what you want for the carts. The dim sum was really good and we had a great dining experience there for sure, all the workers were really nice and friendly as well, they’d show me what they have in the steamers when I didn’t understand what dim sum they had.
Absolutely fantastic food.
A lovely meal, myself and my wife wandered in tonight
We were the only 2 there
The old lady that served us was wonderful
I think she cooks and does everything herself.
What a surprise with the food as it was really one of the nicest meals we have had on our visit to Toronto
Seriously best dim sum in North America. Better than any in NYC. Food is fast, tasty, piping hot. Portion sizes are just right. Feels just like Hong Kong decades ago when dim sum was still excellent.

This is a $41+ order I received from Uber Eats for Bo Luc Lac (Combo for 2). And they refuse to pick up their phone.
NOTE: you walk into the building mall then turn left and you walk up the stairs. I LOVE HOW IT IS ALL DAY DIM SUM!!! The food was overall really good— I was impressed with how it looked like a regular dim sum spot but it was so beautiful and the food tasted great. The 麻婆豆腐、千層糕,皮蛋蘇,and 蝦煎餅 were all outstanding!! The only one that was pretty bad was the xiaolongbao/ pork dumpling. Usually xiaolongbao is supposed to be very wet and soupy inside but this was dry and it had NO FLAVOUr!? That is a signifier northern Chinese dish how can you not make it good?!?! But other then that the service is really nice, the servers are hardworking and are consistent with checking up with you. However some only speak Cantonese, and some speak Cantonese and English. So not all servers understand Mandarin…
Old school Chinese dim sum restaurant! Simply perfect. The dim sums are fresh and so cheap. We come here every year and we enjoy all their dishes.
It was already packed around 11am on Sunday but we were able to get seated right away. The portions of food were good but the cart barely got to us before they ran out of food. I was extremely happy to have soft tofu (豆花) in sugar sauce. I loved that it was very authentic.

Food was fine. Soup dumplings were amazing, while the king mushroom/pea shoots were a disappointment (not many mushrooms considering it's $20). Crispy tofu was fine, nothing interesting about it (the sauce that came with it was not good) and the fried vegetable dumplings were also just fine. Expected more from a place with so many great reviews.

This establishment was recommended by an acquaintance as a late-night destination to satisfy Chinese cuisine cravings. However, my personal experience did not align with the high praise I had heard. The offerings consisted of the usual array of heavily spiced and deep-fried dishes commonly found in Chinese restaurants of this style. The owner's amiability and hospitality were noteworthy, and the service quality was commendable. Nonetheless, as someone who doesn't particularly favor Chinese cuisine, I'm unlikely to revisit, especially considering the considerable distance from my place of residence.

I have added some photos for you to see for yourself

Lobster was excellent. They try to put auto gratuity for only 2 people at 15%. Then the machine asks for more tip. Other than that tasty restaurant
Great DimSum and certainly a Chinatown experience. Nice mix of guests. The service was a bit messy and we never got our rice but the food was great and the atmosphere what we expected. The place in huge and I imagine it often has Chinese parties celebrating (as was the case when we visited) which adds to the friendly chaos. We enjoyed it and would certainly recommend to people looking for some “authentic” food.
I have read some bad reviews here, and I am sure not my experience at ALL. I did not try their traditional Chinese ones. But their Peruvian-Cantonese ones (Spanish menu). And let me tell you, the food was good! It really did not disappoint. It is the real fusion of the culture, you can only have that flavor if you are or lived a long time in Peru, which I found the cook did. Once they learn I came for those dishes, the waitress was so lovely! Even throwing some Spanish words. I had a lovely experience! They even had Inca Kola (national Peruvian soda). I can’t talk about dishes outside the Peruvian-Cantonese fusion but service was very good too. Dishes were big and very good for the price.
I bought Chi jau Kay and chicken Chaufa
Came here for a mid afternoon dim sum on a Sunday around 2:30pm. Didn't have to wait for a table for 3. This place is opened 24 hours a day and serves the staples. It always hits the spot.

Highly recommend and would come back.

Open late, great prices, quick food, but not the greatest service.

There’s not much to say about House of Gourmet that hasn’t been said before. The restaurant is famous in Toronto for being the go to cheap Chinese spot in Spadina. I’ve only recently started eating at House of Gourmet and can understand the hype.

Firstly, I’ll get it out of the way that this restaurant is older and not the absolute cleanest, but I haven’t had any instance where I felt the place is dirty. Dishes, cutlery, and glasses are all clean, it’s just simply an older spot. As for service, it’s actually very quick, just not always the most hospitable (depends on the server), and also sometimes you have to repeat your request multiple times.

With that out of the way, let’s talk food. House of Gourmet is really cheap cost wise, and you can easily get a very filling meal for <$15 including tax and tip. The house special beef noodle soup has become my go to, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a complete meal that offers a filling and warm portion.

From my multiple visits, we’ve ordered an array of dishes and I can say that the taste and quality is pretty consistent. At the price I’m not expecting the best food in the world, but this place I can easily say offers food that is worth the price.

Overall, House of Gourmet should be a regular spot that can please a crowd (especially if you’re drunk), while not hurting your pockets.

The food tasted amazing and had a lot of flavor, it would be perfect if all the food was hot when served though. I got the Roast duck, Roast BBQ pork, Chinese sausage fried rice and deep fried shrimp dumplings. Although they tasted amazing, the meats were not hot.
(I was too hungry by the time the rice arrived so I forgot to get an untouched photo.)
Only received a 4 instead of 5 for food and service because not all the food was hot, and although our server was friendly and helpful, she was probably stretched thin and we had a long wait for our food.

Extremely delicious !!
Very good service... Nice business hours... Good for groups...
Just 2 observations...
Put more attention how clean are the restrooms and be careful in the Bill... That show a gratuity fee but when you pay, the machine ask for tip ( another fee )... Then you could pay double tip.
I'll recommend this restaurant as a really good place

Too much oil in the food, we use napkins to take out the excessive oil. Pork was uncooked, very hard to chew. They charge tip already even though you were not satisfied with the food and staff. Very much disappointed. Please don’t waste your money and time here.

Stepping into New Ho King, a renowned Chinese restaurant nestled on Spadina Avenue in Toronto, was like entering a gateway to an evening of culinary delight. Our group of four friends eagerly anticipated our Sunday dinner, arriving promptly at 7 PM. To our delight, the restaurant wasn't overly crowded, but there was a constant buzz of activity with takeout orders flying out the door.

We were promptly seated at a table that seemed almost too large for our group, adorned with a Lazy Susan at its center. This thoughtful touch allowed us to effortlessly share our dishes, adding an interactive element to our dining experience. As we settled in, we couldn't help but admire the lively atmosphere and the wafting aroma of delectable Chinese cuisine.

With menus in hand, we embarked on a gustatory adventure, selecting a diverse array of dishes that tempted our taste buds. The rice noodles with beef and soy sauce caught our attention, promising a harmonious blend of flavors. The fried rice with barbeque pork beckoned to those craving something savory, while the spicy, crispy beef ignited our palates with a tantalizing heat. We also ordered a delightful combination of tofu and mushrooms, succulent barbeque pork, and sizzling beef served on a hot plate.

As the dishes began to arrive at our table, anticipation grew. The first bite of the rice noodles was like a burst of savory perfection, each strand coated in a rich, flavorful sauce. The tender barbeque pork nestled within the fragrant fried rice, creating a symphony of textures and tastes. The spicy, crispy beef danced on our tongues, leaving us craving more with each bite. The tofu and mushroom dish was a delightful vegetarian option, showcasing the chef's skill in creating a well-balanced medley of flavors.

We couldn't help but indulge ourselves as the evening progressed. The food was so delicious that I found myself returning to the rice noodles and fried rice repeatedly, filling my bowl six to seven times. The quality of each dish was exceptional, a testament to the years of culinary expertise that New Ho King has honed.

Glancing around the restaurant, I couldn't help but appreciate the diverse crowd. People from various backgrounds and cultures had come together, united by their love for the incredible cuisine offered by New Ho King. It was heartwarming to witness such a blend of humanity in one space, sharing smiles and enjoying the flavors that brought us all together.

Throughout our dining experience, the service was attentive and efficient. Despite the restaurant's popularity, the staff made sure our food arrived promptly, ensuring we never had to wait long. Their dedication to providing excellent service was evident, making us feel welcomed and well taken care of throughout the evening.

As our plates emptied and our laughter filled the air, we couldn't help but reflect on the memorable evening we had spent at New Ho King. This restaurant's continued success since the 1970s is no coincidence. It's a testament to their commitment to delivering outstanding Chinese cuisine and providing an inviting atmosphere that keeps customers coming back for more.

Without a doubt, I will be returning to New Ho King for another exceptional dining experience. If you find yourself in Toronto and craving authentic and mouthwatering Chinese cuisine, I wholeheartedly recommend venturing to Spadina Avenue and immersing yourself in the delightful flavors of New Ho King.
Dim Sum King in Toronto offers decent but unremarkable food, accompanied by average service. While the restaurant proudly displays famous people who have dined there, the overall experience fails to impress.

One of the best spots in Toronto for Cantonese food! Our server, Cindy was attentive and welcoming. She helped us with substitutions for our meal and made our dining experience enjoyable. The Fish Maw and Crab Soup was a great starter. The Sweet and Sour Pork Chops were juicy and tender. The Yin Yang Fried Rice is best for those who love creamy sauces. Lobster was fried perfectly, allowing us to easily remove the meat. Looking forward to the next meal here!
Really good healthy food. Don’t be afraid for the look.
I took fried rice (not so fried and not fat at all) with vegetables and eggs. Like Nasi Goreng in Bali.

Totally recommended.
The food here is very good. It seems like it’s just the owner working here so you’ll need to be a little patient, but very friendly and definitely worth it.
Pho broth on par with Golden turtle. Stop by, knock on the door and enjoy authentic pho. My girlfriend and have both visited Vietnam and agree this is some of the best Pho in the city. Rose is running the shop solo and really sweet and will be happy to talk to you.

Great Noodles, their Spicy Beef soup is amazing. Very friendly owner. Food court it's located at is a bit old but otherwise it's totallt worth it.
I have come here twice for dinner to have the yang chow fried rice and would absolutely come back again. Service is quick and friendly, atmosphere is upscale, and prices are quite affordable.
The yang chow fried rice is also a step up from other restaurants because they include some cabbage, I very much appreciate the crunch and juiciness to go with the rice/pork/prawns.
Classic, well made diner breakfast, classic prices, love the mom and pop vibe. In 2023 Toronto where everything is overpriced and overhyped, it is nice to be able to go out for a decent breakfast without breaking the bank.
Been coming here for years, this place is an institution! However, this was my first time being here for lunch as opposed to dinner or late night. The lunch menu is priced extremely well and you can eat like a king! I definitely will be back for another lunch. Make sure you try the Coconut Steamed Roll for dessert as well! It was for lack of a better word, Perfect!
They have bad reviews because the lady that works there is very rude. Also their online prices are $5-10 cheaper then there in person prices just so you’re aware. Would not recommend.

First of all, I am extremely glad that we have Noodle king in the area as there's absolutely no proper wonton/Cantonese noodle place near by. The boss is always there, always working very hard to make good charsu, egg noodles are precooks and ready to go quick when you are in rush. I hope they are bringing back their hot sauce, oil in jar etc so customers can help themselves with these options. Thank you so much for a great bowl own noodle soup.

The food was really not good, it was not what I expected, but it was also no good quality: Noodles drowned in undefined sauce with one kind of tasteless vegetable and suspicious beef. The spiced broccoli was quite tasty, but difficult to eat.
Service was not really friendly. Maybe he was, but he didn’t like to communicate with his customers.
Tips would be charged automatically on the bill.
What I liked: they served tea instead of taped water, but never the less, I recommend to avoid this place.

Came here for lunch on a Sunday. Was pretty busy. We ordered soup dumplings, sweet n sour ck, pepper bf, and Shanghai noodles. The food was average. Nothing really special. Soup dumplings were smaller than other places. Maybe we just ordered the wrong stuff and needed to order something different to get the wow factor. Overall, it was decent.
My absolute favorite go to place especially when we have tickets for the symphony. The location is too perfect and the bonus is that the food has been consistently amazing. We have eaten here every concert this season and tried so many dishes and each one was cooked you absolute perfection. This last time, we had shrimp fried rice and it ranks among one of the best I have ever had. The rice grains were all separate and the shrimp were incredibly Al dente. Staff is always friendly and hardworking. We always get our free quickly and have never been late for a

Speed and efficiency are the themes of this place. Definitely recommend!

The service was quite acceptable - not amazing, not above and beyond, and definitely not poor. You need to ask for sauce and stuff but they were attentive to your request and bring what you ask for without attitude.

The food came out efficiently (within 10-15 mins or so) and we ordered 9 dishes. The food was decent (although I only had a vegetarian noodle dish, my family claimed food was decent, especially the lobster and general tsao).

🦞 The lobster is ~$40/lb and the dish in the pic is 2lbs stir fried in Hong Kong style (diced onions, salt and pepper - not saucy).

The place gets very busy but tables go fast as they seem to have efficient way of managing food orders in the kitchen. Recommend to make reservation if you have a big group (they have round table for 8).

Situated amongst the string of restaurants in downtown Toronto’s chinatown, I decided to give this place a try.

The staff was friendly, contrary to most of the restaurants in the area with grumpy staffs that demand tips regardless of the service.

The seafood Ho Fun noodles was generously served including it’s assortment of mixed vegetables and seafood. At the same time, the steamed dumplings were done well where the shrimp stuffings were not underserved.

For the price, I somehow felt like it was very reasonable unlike other Chinese restaurants in the area which made me feel a bit overcharged.

I look forward to returning here to try other dishes, especially their hot plate.
I've gone a few times since it was convenient but I can't believe they are still in business. They really don't care about their customers at all. The food is as stale and bland as the service.

Alright, folks, listen up because I've got a hot tip for you. If you're in Toronto and you're feeling lonely and existential, head on down to Saigon Flower Restaurant. Trust me, this is the perfect spot to eat alone and think about your life choices.

Now, let's talk about the food. The noodles are fresh, the pho is piping hot, and the prices won't break the bank. It's the perfect spot to grab a quick and tasty bite without having to go through the hassle of cooking for yourself.

And if you're worried about your phone dying while you're indulging in some self-reflection, fear not. Saigon Flower has got you covered with an outlet in the wall so you can charge your device and never miss a beat.

But wait, there's more! If you're looking for some good ol' Vietnamese entertainment, head on over to the bar. They've got some seriously entertaining TV programming that'll keep you occupied for hours. Who needs a therapist when you've got Saigon Flower Restaurant?

All in all, if you're looking for some good food, good prices, and a spot to ponder your existence, Saigon Flower is the place to be. Trust me, you won't regret it.

Amazing family run business! Great service and really delicious food. Definitely recommend. Thank you! 😃
The bad reviews here surprise me. Myself and my husband came across this restaurant after searching for good Chinese food for over a year after moving to Toronto, with no luck, until we tried Saigon Flower. We instantly fell in love. The food is AMAZING. Dine in or take out. The Owner is so sweet.

Yes, she is running the place by herself and that is why the food is so authentic.

After Covid, it is impossible to find any good employees. When is the last time you’ve been somewhere and have been impressed by employees service? She works crazy hard and does a phenomenal job.

It kills me when people say the price of the food went up. Did you grocery bill not go up as a well? Your expecting the restaurant to not make any money, so that you can be happy? Not just this restaurant, any restaurant for that matter.

If you can’t afford the rising food prices, that everyone is facing, simply stay home and cook for yourself.

We would HIGHLY recommend giving this food a try. You won’t be disappointed.

If you're looking for an excellent place to celebrate your birthday, I highly recommend trying out this restaurant! From start to finish, the experience was fantastic.
The service was intimate and attentive, with the staff going above and beyond to ensure that our table had everything we needed. We felt truly taken care of, and the level of care and attention was second to none.
But of course, what really stood out were the Cantonese dishes. Each dish was prepared with care and precision, and the flavors were absolutely incredible. From the crispy fried chicken to the savory seafood stir fry, every bite was a delight. And of course, the birthday dessert was the perfect way to cap off the meal.

I got Hunan beef and it was really good. Nothing mind blowing or anything but I would definitely order it again. It's low level spicy (for me) but has lots of veggies and beef which I liked. There's tofu as well, which tasted really good but I wish it wasn't in such big chunks compared to everything else.
The herbal chicken hotpot was closer to a sesame chicken hotpot. The flavor was good but the overall dish lacked cohesion and finesse. We were told we had to order a whole chicken even though they had half a chicken on the menu.
Regular here (on and off) for 15 years. Fresh high quality food and great service. Never hesitates to accommodate a custom order.

Hasn't changed much since I discovered it, and that's a great thing!

Delicious meals available from a reasonable price. BBQ pork was tender with its sauce and wonton noodle soup was delicious, with its light and simplistic soup and Bok Choy (Chinese Cabbage).

The egg noodle that I chose, however, seemed slightly undercooked.

I’m puzzled by the low rating of this restaurant since among the downtown Toronto Chinatown restaurants, I would say New Ho King is one of the most consistent when it comes to food quality/quantity and pricing.

We’ve been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years and the food we normally ordered still taste the same - flavourful, and servings are generous compared to other Chinatown restaurants. Everyone in this restaurant are very pleasant from the Manager (guy) to the servers and always say hi and thank you to customers. Not even once did we experienced rude service.

This is also one of the few restaurants in Toronto that rewards cash discounting to customers - offers 10% off your bill if you pay cash. One time, they got 1 of our order wrong and was given automatically a discount in our bill without even asking for it.

We’re a fan of their Ho King Special Sizzling Chili Chicken in Hot Pot (bone-in). Crispy and flavourful is how to best describe this dish. Tender marinated chicken fried until crispy with lots of spring onions makes this a delightful dish and something that you want to eat over and over again.

Another fave is their Deep Fried Calamari with Spicy Salt. Squids are perfectly coated in a well-seasoned batter and flavoured with spice mixture. Very addictive and pairs well with rice/fried rice.

I could go on and on about how wonderful their food is but if you haven’t tried this place maybe you should give it a chance if ever you’re in the Chinatown area. Bonus point - they’re open late or until the wee hours so good for late Chinese cravings.
A typical Chinese restaurant. My grandfather used to come here all the time when he was still around. They have decent food and great deals for their lunch special. I ordered their lunch special take out and got soya beef rice noodles and general Tao chicken, both for $22.60 after taxes but they take cash only for their lunch special so make sure to bring some.

The rice noodles was a generous portion, could've been a bit more seasoned but decent otherwise for the price, there's definitely a lot better out there. I was disappointed when I opened the container of the general Tao chicken to find out that it was sweet and sour instead but we still ate it and it was fine. The chicken was served on top of rice so you don't get as much meat but the price was fine so we didn't care.

Noodle King is one of the better known places in the PATH with most items being fairly affordable. Most items are made fresh to order and generally around $10-12.

They are one of the few places serving Chinese-style BBQ meats such as char siu, and is as good as other Chinese BBQ places in the city. The portion sizes are plenty based on the price and provide decent value.

Recommended to pick the rice dishes over the noodle dishes as they tend to pack in the container completely. However, the noodle items are still as good regardless.
Reasonable price and fairly decent food.
What a delightful little diner! Strong mom and pop vibe. I was skeptical about ordering but my friends had eaten here before and said the food is good. The adventure down to the bathroom was a bit on the creepy side but the food was wonderful and reaaonably priced. My stomach was upset so I ended up boxing up my breakfast, so I hope if the owners read this they know it's not because it wasn't good. I would eat here again.

Unfortunately the food wasn’t great at all….the lady who works the front is very nice though. But when it came down to getting the food the chow mein noodles were very hard to the point where they tasted like they were barely cooked. Second time around it tasted better. The sweet and sour balls paste had an odd taste to it since it did not taste sweet or sour. This is the first time we have left the food without at least packing it.

I really wanted to try liking the food but not good especially for $40. Hopefully improvements can be made since customer service wise the woman was really nice.

After lockdown, they are still the crowd favourite in the Sheraton food court! The egg noods + soup is very authentic Hong Kong taste, brings back memories!!!😭 If you're thinking wonton, I'd opt for the shrimp one, and fish balls are quite noms!

Edit: it's March 2023 and it's still nommers!! Egg noodles for the win! And get their chilli sauce!!!
Also, they were closed last week and had a sign up; i was fearing for the worst but lo and behold it seemed they were just on vacation. Please don't scare me like that!!!

One of my favourite spots to dine in for Chinese food - the portions are generous, dishes freshly made, with awesome flavour. Their crispy beef & gailan in garlic sauce are both delicious.

The sad thing is that the delivery is not nearly as good as dine in 🥺

Had dinner in one of the private rooms...a great experience for our party of 10. Very private room with karaoke (two mics) and private washroom which was very nicely done. There was an automatic mahjong table but we weren't playing. Food was good as usual but portions were smaller than before the pandemic...we ordered the $328 meal package. On the covered Mahjong table, there was a stack of extra plates and napkins which was very handy as we didn't have to wait for a waiter. It would have been better if the waiters didn't come in to take some of the napkins for the other room. It was extra, of course, for the private room but was worth it.
Addition: Had dim sum recently on a Saturday at 11:20am. No waiting. Food came quickly. Delicious. Most plates were $3.80.
This place was amazing for dim sum! Very authentic Chinese food. The service was great! The food was served steaming hot and very prompt. This is a great place to go for brunch with family and friends. I will definitely come back.

I was a bit off put by some of the negative reviews here but decided to give this place a try anyways.

I ordered delivery directly through them and not through one of the other delivery apps. (I would recommend this btw). For one thing, I got my order and I called them after placing my order to ensure they saw it and were processing it after some of the negative reviews here but they told me they were already in the process of making it. Also, they say right on their site that delivery through them takes around an hour so you shouldn’t expect anything less. From the time I ordered to the time I got my delivery, it was an hour so I can’t blame them for being honest upfront.

Food was reasonably priced considering everything has gone up in price these days. Portion sizes matched the prices and every dish was hot and tasty. The only one I didn’t quite like was the deep fried squid. I was hoping it’d be tender but it was a bit on the chewier side and it lacked salt.

I would order from here again. Everything was packaged well, portion sizes were good, price was reasonable and food was tasty. Delivery was on time and seamless.

Best noodle soup ever!!! The flavor is really authentic for Cantonese beef noodle and their ingredients are fresh, high quality and so well prepared! I always get half portion of skinny egg noodles with spicy beef and shrimp wonton (2 big shrimps inside), spicy broth broth, and extra vegs. Their protein is perfectly cooked, even tofu is very tasty.

So glad this place is still around after the pandemic, it used to have 20 ppl lines during lunch time, very decent price too! Thank you thank you!

I luv Noodle King. Prior to the pandemic, it's my GO TO PLACE for lunch. It's a long line up during lunch time back then coz it's good value, tasty and worth the wait. Best yet, the owner is very courteous and he is very flexible, you can mix whatever meat you want on your noodles and he is ok with it. Of course, as long as you are willing to pay, you can plug in whatever meat you want. One time I didn't feel like eating bok choy and he subsituted with broccoli, which I appreicated.

Most often, I am amazed how good a memory the owner is of what people order as he moves the line very quick. Although this place is a food court, it serves many food items way better than many other Chinese restaurants.

There are so many food items that is my favourite:

- Spicy beef brisket ho fun
- Soy chicken rice noodles
- BBQ Pork + Tofu
- Sometimes I like to add in extra pork dumplings or tofu, so many choices and variations

I visited my work office one day and decided to check if Noodle King is still there and it was, so I decided to order the BBQ Pork + Pork Dumplings with ho fun, so good! One of the best in Toronto. I will miss this place since I won't be back in office anytime soon.

I can't speak to delivery or even takeout experiences because I always dine in (they have quite a few large tables available). Every time, I'm impressed by the price, portion size, quality, and flavour of the food. The best hot and sour soup in Chinatown (and I've been to A LOT of the restaurants in the area), the Japanese tofu was so silky and tasty, they're the only place I've seen in Chinatown that makes birds nest from taro, the handmade fried dumplings taste fresh and the dough is just chewy enough, the sweet and sour pork comes in a huge portion and tastes great, I've never had a bad dish from here. I want to eat my way through the entire giant menu.
I recently tried the Dim Sum and they seem to have improved in taste except for the Fried Chicken Wings that lack overnight seasoning and not juicy enough. The prices remains very competitive at $3.60 each and Tea charge is only $1. If you looking just to enjoy the traditional dim sum without the fusion and creative items, this could be the best place to dine-in. I will need to try their cooked food menu later since their were given very bad taste reviews a couple of years ago.

Did take out and even after driving 30 minutes back home, the food stayed hot and fresh! Everything was so tasty, and it did not disappoint at all. We ordered a LOT (as you can see), and it was all so good!! 😋

Our order consisted of: lobster in ginger and green onion sauce, lobster in black bean sauce, salt and pepper shrimp (this was also spicy) satay beef rice noodle, young chow fried rice, green beans with minced pork, snow pea leaves with enoki mushrooms, Szechuan style crispy chicken

Huge difference in takeout vs delivery. Ordered via Uber on a Wednesday night, delivery was real quick but the food was disappointing. Shrimp fried rice had only a handful shrimps hidden under a mountain of rice. Pretty sure the meat in the kung pao chicken was not chicken. It was shredded to such tiny pieces that there was absolutely no way to tell what the meat was. Flavours and portions were good but the overall experience could have been better if they had not skimmed on the main ingredients.

I ordered off Skip The Dishes. I normally try not to write negative reviews, especially during COVID times as many small businesses are struggling to make ends meet. But I feel like my experience is worth knowing.

On a more annoying note first, they placed my avocado shake in a very packed bag without any insulation. It obviously exploded into two of the dishes I had ordered. With that said, I went onto my third dish and began eating that--it was fine. No complaints. One of the dishes I was looking forward to only had a bit of avocado shake in it so I decided to eat the other half.

On a more concerning note, as I am enjoying my meal I found a black curly hair in my food. I am a blonde and it could not have been mine. At that point I was absolutely disgusted and decided to look up the Google reviews, where I found TWO other reviews stating there was a black curly hair in their meal WITHIN THE PAST TWO MONTHS.

Outside of COVID times, that is a health and safety concerns, but during it is absolutely unacceptable. I am praying that it was a beard hair, meaning the cook was not wearing a mask during meal preparation. Do not order from here.

Came here at 7 on a Tuesday night since i had some business downtown. Place was empty, not a good sign. There is only one elderly lady at the counter and i think she's also the chef. Ordered a special Phở and shrimp dumplings. Food took an uncomfortably long time to arrive (i think there's only one person here doing everything). The food tasted mediocore as best. I had better. Didnt bother to take a picture. Would not recommended.
Food was great. I ordered a half chicken and it was moist and crispy. I also had the shrimp wontons. They were a disappointment because it was one or no shrmp inside the deep fried wonton wrapper. The lobster costs cheaper than most chinese restaurants and it tastes like the rest. Its a great place to eat when youre hungry at night
I love Chinese food but this place is the absolute worst experience I have ever had in a Chinese restaurant. The lunch special fried noodles were greasy and disgusting, immediately upsetting my stomach, and when I asked for a fortune cookie after paying for my order the waitress told me "No fortune cookie for lunch special". There was a huge bowl full of fortune cookies right behind her, and they probably cost about 1-2 cents individually. I never had experienced such pure contempt for a paying customer in my life.

Also the restaurant is filthy, I was second-guessing myself ordering there just based on the dirt and grime on the walls, tables, and murky green fish tanks - if there's any blessing to my trip, it's that at least I didn't order the seafood.

So to recap: Dimly lit and dirty restaurant serves horrendous, greasy and flavourless food served by the rudest staff I have ever encountered.

You can get infinitely better Chinese food at literally any other restaurant nearby, so do that instead and avoid this place like the plague. Incidentally, the plague may have been easier on my stomach than the food was at rol jui.
Great seafood restaurant but also has great traditional Chinese food. Steamed fish is a must have as well as the lobster. Good value and generous portions. They have live fish and seafood you can choose to eat.
