I just placed an order online that was supposed to come with chocolate ice cream and brownie bites when my delivery driver dropped it off he told me the store didn’t have my ice cream, I called the store to figure out what was going on. Adrian picked up the phone and was very disrespectful he did advise me that they were out of chocolate ice cream and he doesn’t even know why it’s on the menu I said “okay no problem, but next time do you mind just calling me so I can possibly pick another flavor or maybe cancel the order if necessary Adrian became very disrespectful and began telling me that I was already refunded for the order, and he was the only one in the store at the time (the refund was never the problem I simply wanted ice cream 😅) as someone who also works in food service I know how that is but it never stopped me from calling the customer or even waiting until the delivery guy approaches and kindly asking them to call the customer it literally takes less than a minute to do so, it doesn’t hurt to be kind or speak to people in a respectful manner.
It’s not what you say but how you say it.

My friend and I walked in today and it was our first time so we were looking over the menu. The cashier who was working today around 7pm seemed incredibly displeased at the fact that we didn't know what we wanted to order despite the fact that there were no other customers waiting behind us. I said "I think I'll get a Salted Caramel.." before the cashier interrupted me and said "Do you think or do you know what you want?" I found this question to be rude and unnecessary but decided to be a good sport and say "I'm still thinking" He then said "We only ring things up when you know. When you're done thinking , let me know." , in an aggressive tone. He moved on to my friend and repeated the question while my friend was reading the menu and told us when we were done thinking , he would take our order. Then he stormed off from the register. The entire interaction made us really uncomfortable and I've never been treated like this before in any store. My friend and I are both black and I feel like his behavior was racially charged as he was kindly helping the people before us and they weren't black. The cookies were good but as long as that man continues to have a nasty attitude, I won't be back

Milk Bar in New York City is a delightful and iconic destination for those with a sweet tooth and a love for innovative desserts. Founded by Christina Tosi, this bakery has garnered a cult following thanks to its creative, nostalgic treats that bring a playful twist to classic flavors.

The moment you step into Milk Bar, you’re greeted by a vibrant and whimsical atmosphere that perfectly matches the creativity of the desserts on offer. The décor is fun and modern, with bright colors and playful design elements that make the space feel lively and inviting.

The menu at Milk Bar is a sweet lover's dream. The bakery is perhaps best known for its Compost Cookie®, a delightful concoction that combines sweet and salty flavors with a mix of chocolate chips, butterscotch, pretzels, potato chips, and coffee grounds. Another signature item is the Cereal Milk™ Soft Serve, which captures the nostalgic taste of the milk left at the bottom of a cereal bowl, complete with crunchy cornflake toppings.

One of the standout items at Milk Bar is the Crack Pie® (now called Milk Bar Pie), a buttery, gooey dessert that is both rich and addictive. The pie has a dense, custardy filling with a hint of saltiness that balances its sweetness perfectly.

The bakery also offers a variety of cakes, including the famous Birthday Cake, which features layers of vanilla rainbow cake, rich frosting, and crunchy crumbs, making every bite a celebration. Their cake truffles, essentially bite-sized versions of their cakes, are another must-try, offering concentrated bursts of flavor in each morsel.

Milk Bar’s cookies are equally impressive, with flavors like Cornflake-Chocolate Chip-Marshmallow and Corn Cookie standing out for their unique combinations and perfect textures.

Pricing at Milk Bar reflects the premium quality and creativity of the desserts, but the unique flavors and exceptional execution make it worth every penny.

Let’s say you want a sweet treat relatively late at night and find yourself in the East Village and find yourself reading a certain Eater article about the best dessert places near you. Please do not make the mistake I did and go to literally anywhere other than Milk(ing your hard earned money) Bar. If you want to pay 18 dollars for suspiciously salty soft serve in a cup with potentially two (2!!!!) false bottoms and a prepackaged cookie or slice of milk bar pie (pie crust), go right ahead! But if you prefer any semblance of reason or simply do not want to experience such disappointment at the end of your day, please either wait for the next day to come and satisfy your craving with any number of delicious nearby options or pop into a bodega and get yourself a well deserved ice cream sandwich, a dessert with more originality, flavor, and substance than anything sold at Milk Bar.
Cookie was Great! Drip coffee not that good unfortunately.
Nice coffee shop in a great location. Great place to grab and go.

They bake cookies really amazingly deliciously good. Really edible for their own creativity brainstorm cookie recipes! I love their cookies!
The latte I bought was quite large. We came here at 3:15 pm on a Saturday, expecting it to close at 4 based on the hours on Google. However, they closed early at 3:30. It’s a pretty empty coffee shop with nice vibes. Definitely would try to come back to read or work next time.

The ice cream was not even an ice cream. It felt like I was eating salt only. It tasted terrible. We had DIY, cookie cream sundae, and cookie cream swirl. The cookie cream swirl was plain vanilla ice cream with no cookies. They also tasted terrible. We had to throw all of them in a bin. I highly suggest not wasting your precious money on this “ice cream.”

Girl with red braided hair is extremely rude. I got inside the store there was no welcome and when I said greeting to them they looked at me like I was high or something. They were using cussing words like there were no customers at the store. It looks like they did not have supervision or manager around.

Never been to insomnia cookies came in with my husband 1/24 at about 2 pm and was met with the worst customer service with an unnecessary attitude. She was on the phone with someone on her AirPods and when we asked a question she said “that was mad rude” implying we interrupted her personal phone call. Excuse me, you’re at WORK. We were left speechless and promptly left. I don’t know what the issue was, if it has to do with us being LGBTQ or what. Incredibly terrible experience, won’t ever go back to insomnia cookies. This employee should be fired.
I had the Brownie deluxe and it tasted awesome. Customer service is very and they close late. I was there at 1:46am.

The award-winning cookies were excellent and the coffee made from quality ingredients was impressive, but the best part was how earnestly the barista prepared the coffee, which really enhanced the experience. They use Oatly barista version for oat milk, ensuring that the espresso doesn’t have an unnecessary bitterness. The cookies were pricey, but delicious.
THE BEST CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE I HAVE EVER EATEN…. And I’ve tried a lot of cookies. The service was great. While it’s small inside, like any spot in Manhattan I was grateful there was some seating & tables available. My partner got a cappuccino & I got a mocha latte. Both were smooth and creamy, truly delicious! We both got our own chocolate chip cookie & had to grab an additional half dozen for later! We also tried the corn cookie later at home and it was also delicious, but the chocolate chip is still number one. They had a crisp outer edge with a melty middle. They were chunky, gooey, & not too sweet! I would honestly cater these at my wedding they were so good. Highly recommend!!

The best chocolate chip cookie I have ever had. We came here on a whim based on a YouTube short we had seen, doubtful that the recommendation would hold up. This was one of the best decisions we made on our trip, a very memorable cookie. It tasted like it was dark chocolate, not bitter at all though it was delightful.

Aside from the cookie, the drinks we had were ironically not worth getting. The chai latte simply tasted watery and wasn’t very enjoyable, I’ve had worse to be fair. I like my chai latte on the sweeter side so that’s a personal preference. I would make the trip again simply for the cookie.
Friendly staff. Great food and amazing cookies! We tried america, chocolate chunk and red velvet, I bet all of them are delicious as well!!
Desserts are to die for! The mixed berries tart is absolutely delicious and the black and white cookies are a must every time I go…. However this place has a serious issue with service; it is beyond bad. The staff completely ignores you for several minutes until the only person helping walk-ins decides to help with an attitude that screams that being there is the last thing they want to be doing at that point. If they changed the service for good this would be a 5/5.

I’m really not a cookie person, but the cookies at @cultureespresso left a great impression. It’s a cookie shop in disguise!

Definitely one of the best I’ve had in the city. Deliciously crumbly and moist inside, and goes well with a cup of coffee to balance the sweetness.
This is the worst cookie place I have ever visited. Firstly the place is very unhygienic, also the person served was rude, secondly he denied to give the receipt on cash payment and I tried the nutella and s’mores which were okay. The owner really needs to work on the presentation.

A very solid dark chocolate chip cookie, and the latte itself was decent too. I came here to try the cookie, and I do have to say it was slightly too rich for me, even though I am someone that LOVES dark chocolate in a cookie, I think there was too much chocolate in the middle and not enough cookie. The edges are crisp and light, the inside fudgy, which is exactly how I like it. I just think they added a little bit too much chocolate.

Not too large of an interior, but good for working if you are able to snag a table. No bathrooms :(

I can only base my review on their cookies but 100000% up to the hype in my opinion. Every time I’ve went the cookies never let me down. The chocolate chip is their most popular but if you wanted to try their others they know how to make great cookies. Crisp and chewy. Great the next day. Tried their other flavors like their corn bread, cranberry, and black and white were so delicious. The black and white was def on the sweeter end but paired with milk? Perfection. Also shoutouts to the staff who made me feel supported when I asked for one of each cookie haha. They do have seating if you wanted to enjoy the aroma of great smelling coffee.

Moments before I got to this point of writing this review, I noticed the 3.9 rating that reviewers gave this cookie bakery. When I choose a restaurant to go to, from the Zagat dining guide, I want a rating of a least 4.3. I wish I had looked up the rating before I chose to go to Insomnia Cookies. The Oatmeal Raisin Cookie ($3.21 including tax) was bland, and its named ingredients here were not recognizable to me from its taste. I threw it out after two bites.

When you're craving a deliciously dirty snack as your tummy grumbles at midnight, Insomnia Cookies is perfect for scratching that itch.

Dropped in recently for my first time. I picked a choc chip and a white choc macadamia cookie to top and bottom my cookie dough ice cream cookiewich.

My heart might've slowed down a bit but I 100% enjoyed the entire messy eating experience.

Worth a visit.
Decent coffee however flavor profiles were barely noticeable. Cookies are unique and taste good.

Went on the night they had the free cookie in your pjs thing and the two black guys said there was a contest that if we finished these cookies with a lot of icing on it we’d get the shirts. So they bring it out and he’s says look at all that creme on your face. 1. I think it was very inappropriate for him to say that to us and 2. I think he was just pranking us. Especially because we saw another customer come after us and he gave them for free. Super unprofessional and disrespectful of them.

I've only had them about 3 times. The first two times, the cookies were fresh baked and still warm. This last time, they were completely cooled and not soft at all. Slightly disappointed Unlike Levain, which I find delicious, cold, or warm.
Genuinely the best coffee in Manhattan (& I’m from Australia)! The coffee tastes heavenly. The staff and service are so nice, everything is takeaway and the food items they have like the Choc chip cookies are to die for! They are known for their cookies so try to early in the day before they sell out. Expect a line of people out the door to order, but it does move quickly and there is limited seating inside, but it is 100% worth a visit (or keep going back like I will be!)

This place is so cute!!! I saw online they were known for their chocolate chip cookies- so I just had to stop by! Next time I'm in NY I will have to try one of their lattes! Their cookie was delicious, I can see why it has won awards! It was soft and had a ton of chocolate chips!
A $7 cookie is a bit ridiculous in my opinion, but the fact that they have a happy hour with $4 cookies makes up for it in my mind. I got three cookies, the birthday cake, key lime pie, and flavor of the month donut. The key lime pie was definitely my favorite because it wasn’t too sweet. The lime flavor came through very nicely and the cream cheese filling cut the sweetness. The birthday cake and donut were both very sweet, but enjoyable and very gooey. The staff is super nice and while the store is very hot, it’s very cool decor wise. The cookies definitely did not disappoint in flavor, size, or texture.

We tried the toasted marshmallow soft serve topped with toasted marshmallows. The icecream was so soft, creamy and delicious. The toased marshmallows added the perfect amount of crunch. The staff are super helpful.
You can miss this place in the blink of an eye just make sure you don't! The smell when you walk down the stars should be made into a candle..it's that's amazing. Great staff and fresh yummy cookies, worth the drive from CT!!
I've had the cookies before and they are good. Unfortunately, do NOT order these for delivery. I ordered for my husband's birthday because he was missing new york and the black and white are his favorite. I ordered overnight delivery ( a hefty surcharge) since I wanted them as fresh as possible. Unfortunately they arrived 3 days later....I called FedEx who said there was nothing they could do and to talk to the bakery. After several emails and a phone call, I've had no communication about the order at all. Great cookies but poor communication/service after you have paid.

SUPER YUMMY (prices are a bit high but still good) P.S - can I have a free snickerdoodle cookie 😢😢😢
By far the best gourmet cookies I’ve ever had. Go the dark chocolate smores and the Bueno cookie. Perfectly crunchy on the outside and literally gooey on the inside. Perfection! Chefs kiss. Couldn’t recommend higher if you want the best cookies. Better than Crumbl OR Levain for sure

Take and go place! This place has been here for a long time and so happy that it still stands! The momofuku slice of pie is what really keeps bringing me back, although I didn't see it on the menu. They have truffles, cookies and the best birthday cake ever, which they can personalize on the spot. Everything is prepackaged so the line moves quickly, most people got the cereal ice cream.

I had been hearing the good things about this place for a long time from Instagram and my friends. I happen to be near Amsterdam area and I saw this restaurant and wanted to give it a shot. I purchased a box of 6 cookies and honestly they were so delicious . These cookies were the best cookies I ever had. Now about the restaurant even though it was small but clean and well maintained. The cashier was so frequently that the menu for cookies screen was malfunctioned but she was reading the entire cookies menu to each customer with so much passion and love. I would highly recommend this store if you around the area.
Came in for lunch and service was great. Got seated early for our reservation and the sushi came out quickly. Cute place and they were busy...but not busy, if that makes sense. We ended up ordering a second round it was that good.

Don't recall all the rolls we tried, but they were all good. Even saw a few plates pass by that looked scrumptious as well. Almost asked the server what the table next to us ordered. lol

Super sad because I love insomnia cookies but this place clearly didn’t care about serving quality cookies. The employee seemed annoyed that I even walked in and was complaining to another employee about something else. On top of that look at these cookies and how they’re placed! Insomnia by west 4th ALWAYS has good great presentation and even better tasting cookies. But for a six pack of snickerdoodles I was extremely disappointed in these. At first i thought the cookies were upside down but no this is just how they decided to make them that day. Not to mention she literally just threw them in there as opposed to making them look nice like other locations do. The cookies didn’t taste great given that the cinnamon was splotchy and the cookie quite literally fell apart the moment I picked it up. Very sad, I couldn’t even finish them.
Great cookies. Nice desert spot after diner. Cookies can run you $7 a piece. $5 extra for scoop of ice cream. Not your typical cookie a la mode. Definable worth a try. They charge $1 extra for credit card transactions. Great customer service. Street parking only. You have to walk down to the basement to find the business.
What happened to this place?! The selection of cakes would always be available but now, it’s prepackaged thin slices that look old or nothing at all. I was told they rotate cakes so you don’t know what will be available unless you go in. I have purchased sliced and whole cakes. I will take my business elsewhere that is consistent with their options. When they were In the plaza food hall I never had any issues.

Mmmm there is no actual store. Just a bunch of motorbikes inside for online pickups. That's not sanitary smells like cigarettes inside yeah I won't recommend buying cookies from here. Looks like a scene from the movie rush hour just no actors in a empty warehouse .
Yum cookies and supporting a long time local business! This place is such a treat, service was really great and helpful and I tried a mini black and white cookie, linzer cookie and a mini pecan roll. Conveniently located near the park and museum too. I'll be back to try more! The black and white cookie was legit, need to try the red velvet one!

There was a line out the door to the sidewalk when we arrived. The smell of fresh baked cookies lured us into the shop and waiting in line was worth it. The chocolate peanut butter cookie just melted in my mouth. What a special, delicious little treat.

The people in line were friendly, each talking about which flavor they were good to order. With almost 20 different options, everyone seemed to have a different favorite. Although a classic chocolate chip cookie seemed to be the consensus. I could feel the cookie anticipation!!! Delicious, you seriously have to try it for yourself 😊

Horrific. I went today for black & white cookies for a kids party. The staff was so rude, slow and incompetent. There was hair in the meringue pie in the fridge! And mini black and whites are $2/cookie. What happened to quality and pleasant service?

My favorite location to get some insomnia cookies!! I love their cookies! I’m a big fan of chocolate chip but hands down their peanut butter is my favorite! Warming them up makes them taste even better! I love that you can order online and pick them up! I’ve ordered online a couple of times but this time I just went inside…thank god there wasn’t a line like there usually is hence why I order to pickup. I also love the fact that there right next to Pinkberry! Can’t beat that!
Insomnia cookies smells like heaven. The chocolate chunk cookie is my favorite and it goes well with the chocolate ice cream. One thing I do not like about this location is the fact that they almost never have the bite size chocolate chunk cookies. Why offer that on the menu if you never have it!?
Look!! Shrinkflation has hit Greenberg.

Their famous 7 layer cake is now down to 6 layers.

Odd., I was charged for 7 layers.. but handed 6!

It tasted really nice.., but come on!! How can you mess with a NY Staple like a 7 Layer Cake?

Also, the staff at the Madison Ave location are all but worthless. Rude and dismissive on the phone.., and about the same in person.

Every time I go in there.., it is packed and 5 of the 6 staff look busy, but they are doing absolutely nothing but looking busy.

Very disappointing.

Sad….the cookies were stale and the flavors underwhelming. The Peanut butter tasted like a PB&J sandwich and was not moist. The Matcha cookie was a bit better with flavor but still hard and sad. The cake was especially, sad.

Overall, sad/10

Love their cookies!!!!
The matcha not only looks good but tastes amaaazzziiinngggg
Don’t even get me started on their red velvet
I got their iced Americano and the espresso was bold and strong which I liked, especially since it balances well with some milk. The pastries looked delicious and the smell of their cookies inside their modern/eclectic vibe was a plus. They get their pastries from bakehouse. Iced Latte is good too.
My son-in-law very nicely went uptown to buy your lemon pound cake for me. He delivered it to me the same day (yesterday). I did not want to complain but it looked stale. I cut a slice and it was very stale, dry, crumbling. I lifted the cake out of the box to put on a plate. MOLD!, GREEN MOLD ON THE BOTTOM!!!! Now i am complaining! I am shocked. Terrible! We

Really delicious cookies and available late in the night. Ordered a deluxe salted caramel cookies and it was extremely decadent with a layer of butter on the packaging as I was sliding it out and almost falling apart in my hands from the butter. It does taste a little mass produced and not a true boutique operation unfortunately pricing. Pricing is reasonable, staff is friendly and quick and the cookies are available without a wait.

Went here around 7pm on a Monday and there was no line. This place is super small - think they allow one person in at a time. I ordered a compost cookie and a slice of the milk bar pie. The pie was awesome. It was really sweet but I have a sweet tooth so no complaints from me. Nice and gooey piece of pie just like I like it. The compost cookie was pretty good as well. Not gonna be the best cookie you have but it was pretty good and worth the try. All in all good experience.

I if your craving something sweet this will surely give that sweet tooth what it needs. It’s so good. The store is small and they are practicing guidelines for Covid like one person upon entry at a time. You can scan the QR code for the menu. The cakes are moist and sweet and the shakes are scrumptious. The cookie I chose was perfection. I’ll surely go back!!

Small spot that fills up quick if youre giving 6ft. Its a standard insomnia cookies location with minimal (likely no) inside seating, and not a ton of nearby outside seats either. There a pinkberry and a van leeuwens ice cream real close if you wanted to get funky with an ice cream sandwich.

I really am beyond disappointed with this location. This has got to be my third time visiting. I really tried to give this place a chance each time thinking it was probably not the right time to buy cookies since it was later in the evening and not much foot traffic the first and second times. That time my cookies were cold to a little warm and seemed like they were sitting in for a while.
Now this third time on Saturday December 19, I was outdoor dining and decided for dessert in this location. As I proceeded to walk inside I had to stop abruptly because of the amount of people not social distancing in this tiny space. They obviously were not controlling the amount of people for their cube sized store and their was a man sitting down eating his cookies in the store. I thought indoor dining and sitting were banned for now? Well thats not even my biggest complaint yet, in comes a young male employee with his mask covering only his chin and walks with a box from behind the register area to where the customers are to get napkins and proceeds to go back. At this point I thought he must of forgotten to put his mask up but then another employee baking in the back also was using a mask as a chin guard meaning not the nose or mouth covered. I was just livid at this point and wanted to leave asap, I ordered my cookies and walked disappointed to my car.
Now this is where I decided to write my review once and for all. Not only do the employees have a disregard to a global pandemic and have no respect to themselves and customers...The cookies were cold and tasted like they were sitting in for awhile. Remember I opened the box as soon as I got in my car! This is not the amazing experience that 125st location gives me with their soft warm cookies melt in your mouth taste! This is just all together one too many times this second ave location gives me a sour taste in my mouth! After giving this place three chances since I live close by to it, I convinced myself that this is all about customer service and the employees at this specific location that are not representing this amazing cookie brand! Please please please retrain your staff at this location so they can live up to at least satisfactory standards. We also should respect one another and wear mask especially at your place of employment! I attached a receipt with time and server but the young lady was wearing her mask it was the other two employees that weren't around her. My server just failed to give the fresh warm cookies like expected!!
Mother in law and my clients swear by this place so i stopped by... now im a fan. Only issue is check your orders. My cake was a birthday cake and they put everything but happy birthday on it... we had a big laugh then ate delicious cake so it all works out in the end.

So most of these locations are tiny but they pack a punch. They have so many different flavors, they're also freshly baked and they're so soft! The best part is they're easily reheatable, 10-15 seconds in the microwave and they're right back to soft and chewy. The cookies are a bit pricey but worth it. The red velvet cookies are especially fantastic. And the best part is they deliver, and they're open until 3AM. Just wish they had as many locations in the Bronx or Queens as they do in Manhattan!

After years of hearing how good this place is, I finally stopped by when a hankering for fresh cookies came upon me.

The staff was attentive and helpful in making the final selection. We shared an ice cream sandwich which featured two of their very good chocolate chunk cookies.

Definitely not impressed by the ice cream, but it wasn't awful. I did however feel that the quality of the mediocre ice cream took away from the great cookies.
