Our fave metro beach, easily accessible by bus or a short drive from the city. Parking is challenging so we sometimes uber it 🤣
The water is calm (no big waves), great view of sunset by the jetty and the ferris wheel & water park while in the water.
Often here after work just lying on the sand, on weekends there's the beach volleyball games too which is great to watch

This field is in terrible condition and the car park is disgusting . Not much else to say really. Blacktown council normally do a decent job with their facilities but this place is very poor.

Great little family park for kids.
Great place to have a good relaxing time with friends and family, even dog pets would have good times with the large dog play area.

Because mainly this reserve has the interest from family with kids, it'd would be great if there're more playground venues available.

Having playground features where kids can run and climb would create great moments for both parents and the children.

I do hope the new section being built will cater that excitement.

Facilities are a bit old, compared to WA’s brand new one. But kids still enjoyed.
It's been years since I've been here & it's still amazing thoughly recommend looking through the Adelaide Museum 👍👍👍
Great park, dog park. it's got lots of fun activities and well kept facilities
Beautiful flowers, and roses also lavenders. You can appreciate the effort and the scenery of this place, has a forest and wetlands area. It's good to have a stroll and walk around or under the big trees to feel it's cooling effect.
A great little shop to get all those German goodies at quite reasonable prices. (Strangely comparable to the German Christmas markets).

Location and Layout: (5/5)
Smack on the main road makes it easy to access and get to. The store from outside looks small, but when inside it is laid out well with a center billing area and all the sections around making it easy to navigate even with more people.

Assortment: (4/5)
A really great range of products to choose from. Love the fact that it is Christmas all year round for some of the sections. They also have the Swiss cow bells if you fancy. They do have cuckoo clocks which are really well made. We picked one up and are very happy with it. Packed well for long journeys as well.

Service: (5/5)
Excellent, the staff are super friendly and very knowledgeable about everything that is in the store. They were helpful with choosing and packing things well.

Summary: (4.5/5)
All in all a great little store to visit and pick things up in especially around the Christmas season.

My wife and I visit regularly, especially the lotus pond. A favourite for a beautiful stroll in lush surroundings.
This was a great place to visit! Very generous that it costs nothing to visit. Very informative and interesting exhibits.

Great variety of art on offer, always a great day out
Free entry (I saw some "experience" on Booking who tried to sell tickets for this museum).
Great place to discover the aboriginal culture (even if Australian society has a weird way to respect it), earth history, australian fauna, flora and geology. The old gallery is still open, now presenting artifacts from the islands and oceanic territories.
If you like history (natural or human), this is a must-see in Adelaide.

I recently visited a museum in Adelaide, and it was an amazing experience! The museum has four levels of fascinating exhibits, which made the exploration and discovery process very exciting. The best part is that it's completely free for everyone! The exhibits range from ancient Egyptian artifacts to beautiful natural displays and ancient civilization exhibits, making the experience both educational and entertaining. If you're in town, I highly recommend checking it out.
Always a lovely place to visit with so many beautiful items to choose from. The variety of nutcrackers is always my favourite thing to view while my husband loves the display of cuckoo clocks. While some items can be expensive, there is always something in everyone's price range available.

Nature near to the artificial. Surprisingly, it is a different world just in the city. You would be wondering how it is possible. It is all surrounded by the busy streets and concrete, but inside its calm trees and natural vibe. Lots of plants and trees with the labels of their scientific name. Lots of walking area and some cafes inside. Some lakes and places to sit. Great for recharge with nature.

Spectacular! Glenelg is a beautiful place for a photography and good place to watch the sunset. My words and photos are not enough to describe how beautiful it was 🌅 Also such a great place to hang up with friends and families. Always enjoyed the walk around the beach and jetty. Very relaxing and worth the time spent in there.

so much fun! if you’re someone who wants to see Everything you can easily spend 4 hours here :) and if you like to speed through then it’s still worth it as it’s Free! we went on a wednesday afternoon and it was super quiet and lovely
Such a beautiful store to visit. The cuckoo wall made me feel transported back to my great grandmas house. The vibe this place has is gorgeous - I recommend everyone a visit. I didnt catch the ladies name today however we were chatting about wearing our dirndls and it absolutely made my day 😊 So much knoweldge, charm and fun built into a store for all ages.
This place is amazing (for kids and THEIR parents too).

Some of the toys and Nativity scenes here were the best I have every seen. The kids were absolutely amazed at the German Themed "cocoo clocks".

A must visit if in Hahndorf. They could easily charge entry to see the display of these clocks.

There were different afternoons when the sun dyed the footsteps of the pedestrians purple. The beach was like a lullaby, with flocks of birds flying back to their nests. The waves gently lapped the shore in the winter sunset, bringing a sense of serenity but still really cold.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting The German Village Shop in Hahndorf, and it was an absolute delight! From the moment I stepped inside, I felt transported to the charming streets of Germany.

The shop boasts a wonderful assortment of traditional German products that capture the essence of the country's culture and heritage. The moment I entered, the warm and inviting atmosphere made me feel right at home. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, always eager to help me find exactly what I was looking for.

Very pleasant and big playground.
This place could be considered the most popular and interesting shop in Hahndorf. It's got a great range of German souvenirs and cute stuff. Nice and unique music is being played all the time in the store. The staff has always been so nice and helpful.

It is sad to see that although council is spending so much money on up grading, their plan did not include toddlers' recreation facilities at all, it is mainly focused on older teenage children which most of their time is spent at school. While as grandparents we have no facilities to accommodate our little grandchildren like before.
Amazing place. Like stepping back in time by 200 years in Europe. Given the quality of of the ornaments, clocks, toys and Nutcrackers every is really well priced. Very friendly and helpful staff. Hope this local business thrives.

Beautiful park with lovely garden. Many flowers so a must visit for flower lovers.
Amazing store! I haven't seen steins outside of Germany before so was wonderful to look at the range they had available. The cuckoo clocks are incredible - so many on display. The lady here has her work cut out for her to pull the levers all the time!

If you are looking for a calm & quiet space/picnic ground right in the middle of the city, next to the Karrawirra Parri / River Torrens, under the shades of massive pine (& other) trees, this is one place to be with your entire family. When you are seated (on your mats and) chilling, ducks will approach you for food (so do not harm them - not quite sure if its ok to feed them or not, but it seems they are quite used to it).

Turf space available for the kids to run around, some areas are steeper so need to be mindful or they could end up having a river bath, just like the ducks ;)

Got a pathway alongside the river for jogging, walking or cycling.

Parking may be challenging. No dedicated slots. If you are lucky you may find street parking along the Victoria Drive.

The Queen is believed by some[who?] to be a caricature of Queen Victoria, with elements of reality that Dodgson felt correctly would make her at once instantly recognizable to parents reading the story to children, and also fantastical enough to make her unrecognizable to children. Some elements of reality in line that would make the Queen of Hearts recognizable as Queen Victoria were the way in which their subjects viewed them as rulers as one Queen was loved while the other was feared. Queen Victoria was loved more by her people in contrast with her consort, Prince Albert, in part because some did not trust him as he wasn't English.[1] The Queen of Hearts was feared by the people of Wonderland and would give the order for execution for even the slightest offense, although her husband would often quietly pardon them. The reference to Queen Victoria is explicit in Jonathan Miller's 1966 television version where she and the King of Hearts are portrayed without any attempt at fantasy, or disguise as to their true natures or personality.

The Queen may also be a reference to Queen Margaret of the House of Lancaster. During the War of the Roses, a red rose was the symbol of the House Lancaster. Their rivals, the House of York, had a white rose for their symbol. The gardeners' painting the white roses red may be a reference to these two houses.
Amazing views of the seas and nature, clean and tidy. It's such a beautiful place to be. Good place for a swim and cool down during summer.

Spectacular sunsets. Photographers and nature lovers dream spot. Plus also the dog owners and the dogs adore the place. White sands. Not too crowded too. Very close to the restaurants and hotels. Paved paths and stairs. The sunsets are so beautiful. Words or the photos will not make justice. You need to be physically in the jetty to fully experience the magical moments. Very well worth the visit. July 2022- there is also a ice skating ring in just in front of the jetty. Since I am not a local not sure if this is permanent.

A pleasant spot in Hahndorf. Sit down, relax. Eat your lunch or drink your coffee seated at the tables and benches. Read about the WW 1 mortar. Make a wish and donate to Novita by dropping a coin or two into the Wishing Well. Then continue exploring Hahndorf.
They regularly host modern arts exhibitions. Quality varies but there is usually something interesting to see.

It has a monument/statue in honour of Governor GEORGE FIFE ANGAS.

Well manicured park, full of green trees to give some shade and relax.

Nice to relax, with friendly walking trail along the River Torrens, located near to Adelaide Oval, with plenty of dancing swans to watchover on the river.

Lovely spot for morning walk and jog as well.

With plenty of cherry trees to bloom and well landscape spot with plenty of curated flowers during Spring season.

I love this place. Great cafes around, awesome crowd and great environment. Such a great place to hangout with family/friends. Can go anytime for a stroll, to have good food or go for shopping. Very neat and tidy beach and it’s very safe to go at night as well. Police is around all the time. Very close to the city and the most fascinating thing is the Tram connectivity from the city to Glenelg beach.

Good oval. Blacktown council needs to do some cleanup as there are some broken glass bottles near the BBQ area. Blacktown council also needs to focus on the grass..There are some areas in the oval which takes few days to dry after a good rain and also some weed in some parts.

Samstag exhibitions interesting, however i was only person there and nothing whatsoever to eat or drink within 100 mile radius, OR thats what it feels like!

Just like the Elder Park, Angas Gardens is a lovely place to visit. It has lots of cozy places to relax or sunbath at and amazing views. It is generally a very quiet place to, so it is very pleasant to meditate here too. There are lots of ducks, black swans and other birds if you are interested in them. Free entry, why not? Anyone interested in ancient Egypt should definitely visit, but be prepared that the Ancient Egypt gallery is a bit dated, small and a bit overloaded with replicas rather than authentic artefacts (still can’t miss seeing the mummies and shabti dolls though). There’s a cool column from an ancient Egyptian temple out in the main foyer!

The rest of the museum is quite interesting too and is also much more modern/renovated (decor wise, compared to the Ancient Egypt gallery), the animals section is quite good for kids. Pacific stuff, stuff from Australian Antarctic expeditions, Aboriginal stuff, and definitely a nice collection of minerals, opals, and fossils.

Visit: November 2023
We just walked through. Morning time, there is shade to walk by the Riverside. Nice. Fits in very nice within our attempt to explore Adelaide.
From King William road, we walked to Riverbank precinct by the side of casino and Festival centre. Crossed the river by this huge pedestrian bridge to go to the side of Adelaide oval.
Again walked by the side of river to cross under King William road. This is Angus Garden. Continued to walk until we saw University. Crossed river by bridge with plenty of locks towards Uni and walked through uni to reach North Gallery to see Art Gallery first. Then there is museum next door.
Rundell mall is walking distance from here.

Loving running along the Torrens and this is one of the prettiest spots along my run.
Awesome place to go, inside the University of South Australia. Fine Art Gallery, collections and exhibitions. Reproducing the e-brochure: "The Anne & Gordon Samstag Museum of Art is one of the University of South Australia’s leading creative centres; it aims to stimulate, challenge and engage its audiences with a program of diverse and innovative exhibitions, publications and associated public activities.

The Samstag Museum of Art presents a changing exhibitions program of contemporary visual art, and art of the past that has relevance for us today."
