Launceston is a beautiful city and seems to have a vibrant centre with most shops occupied. The architecture around the city is worth exploring especially up the hilly streets

The chair lifts are not that safe for kids though but it was an awesome view , Cafes , toilets are available, pool and picnic areas.

The best spot for a break on the way to Geraldton. A jump off the jetty always wakes you up for the rest of the drive.
Amazing trip, took my wife for her 50th she has a bit of anxiety with heights, she found it calming. Clare and John were great!!
Great shop and staff and the Pinnacles are just awesome.
This is a terrific place to visit. The entry is free. Lots of walking or hiking paths. Tame peacocks, wallabies wander about. Cafe at the entrance makes good coffee and there is also a cafe near the rotunda. Chairlift has a fee, but if you have a Seniors Card or Concession Card it is cheaper. Beautiful gorge.
one of the most beautiful experiences ever. the tranquility you feel while in flight is unbelivable. everything was perfect from preparation to landing. beautiful views. Claire and Jon are kind and nice. I really recommend trying an experience with them!
Longest chairlift in Australia. Well priced , $13 one way, $15 return. Staff were very friendly and informative. Cannot purchase tickets at the return end, but 1km walk back to the start is easy. Beautiful views of the gorge and gardens. Cafe near return end .

This morning, my parents and I visited the Cataract Gorge Reserve in West Launceston, Tasmania. It's hard to begin how to describe this place. Massive, breathtaking, scenic, incredible, magnificent. It reminds me of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado or Yellowstone National Park.
We started on the First Basin Walk, a short easy walk around the large water basin and over the Alexander Suspension Bridge. From here, it splits off into several walks and hiking trails as well as the continuation of the First Basin Walk with a lovely crossing over the water.
I decided to tackle the Trevelyan Walk by myself. It's a steep, rocky trail with lots of trees and overgrown vegetation. I spotted a wallaby and baby joey as well as several fellow hikers and runners which put my mind at ease. Plenty of scenic views along here of the reserve.
I walked back along the Daffodil Walk which is a beautiful short rainforest track and connects back to the First Basin Walk.
As well as the walking tracks, there's also a chairlift, outdoor swimming pool, cafe, restaurant, BBQ picnic area, lots of blue peacocks and more. It was certainly worth visiting on our Tasmania trip.

Turquoise blue water...soothing to the eyes. Place is very lively and fun. Good fish and chips specially the Cray fish.
Absolutely stunning town. Very busy with tourism. The water was extremely clear, fish were everywhere.
Beautiful location and views. Can spend a whole day if the weather is kind! Quite a few walks if you are keen… chair lift gives a great areal view of the gorge and the river. Kids were excited to see so many peacocks in one place! there is a large picnic area with a pool and a kids playground. Very close to Launceston city centre.
An absolutely amazing geological feature, to think it's only been exposed for just over 250 yrs. The stories the Pinnacles could tell, and there are 1000s of them, many still buried. I would love to know the Dreamtime story of them.

Visited on the 21st Jan. We jumped on the chairlift and went across the gorge. Absolutely beautiful! $20 per person return.
Got off the other side, nice little restaurant, with a young man singing and playing his guitar out in the beer garden. So relaxing!
The pool looked really inviting, but FAR to cold for this ol girl!
Lots of people and kids swimming. There were also canoes paddling in the gorge.

It's a really interesting place to visit especially if you have small kids with you... Kids will love the experience of the chair lift... Adults will also be fascinated by the picturesque surroundings of the place... The best part is the sighting of the peacocks... They're super friendly with the people around. Although peacock is national Bird of India, I've hardly seen so many peacocks which are human friendly like these ones... there are multiple walking trails you can enjoy around.

On Friday evenings, you will find stalls nurtured between established Chinatown stores. Enjoy the artisan treats, purple rice yogurt, rainbow jelly lychee boba, novelty candles, chinese lamb skewers, mochi, spanish paella, toys, cute clogs, bbq pork buns, fashion, more food, jewellery, iron on patches, pet fashion, fresh juices, tiny plants, meme backpacks, toys, novelty keyrings, Hello Kitty everywhere and much more. Can look for the red and black stools that are placed around for sitting down to eat with large bins nearby. It gets extremely busy at around 8-9 pm. Most of the vendors accept cash or card tap payments. It is absolutely vibrant and worth a visit!

Great place for a day picnic and swim. Lot of peacocks around the garden area when you trek or use a chair lift to go to the garden side.
Good place for family picnic day. The chair lift ride provides a great view of the gorge. 2 nice pools and a river to swim. The change places are clean.
We visited once on Monday and once on Saturday. The difference was huge . We found it very friendly on a Saturday morning. Highly recommend to start with the bakery and then have a walk on the beach.

Busy chinatown night market which is comparable to other smaller night markets in Asia. There are your typical food stalls and small goods. Bound to find a decent feed and a bit of shopping on a Friday night. Would recommend for Sydney visitors in the Chinatown area.
It's a store/post office and tourist information centre, not much information there for what is about in the area.
Stunning space! Plenty to see and do. Is a fair bit of walking involved (we did near 16000 steps climbing to the Eagle Nest lookout and around the gorge, but it is worth it!). Lovely little cafe and restaurant inside and the chair lift is a must do! Lots of wildlife to look at and enjoy also. And randomly, there is a pool, so bring your bathers if you're keen (still a bit cold!).

Very nice family park with BBQ facilities and chairs and tables, plus a large kids playground. It's right on the river so fishing is possible here too. No camping or overnight stays so RVers are out of luck!
This was a good bit of fun and you get good views over all of cataract gorge reserve and up and down the river. I’d recommend doing it only one way and take a walk back. It’s not far at all, there’s lots of options as far as waking goes. The chairlift is reasonably inexpensive for the novelty and views.
Really nice and peaceful place. It’s very quiet. There’s a beach bar just in front. Good to visit if you are around Jurien Bay Area.

Great scenic chairlift over the gorge. Very smooth ride over but if you are afraid of heights this is probably not for you. Cost $15.00 one way or $20.00 return. I bought the return but did not use the chairlift back as the felt the walk back was mostly downhill and worth it to appreciate the scenery.

This place is wild, and the best part is they don’t even know how these things are created. You can drive through, and that’s fine, but it’s way better to get out of your car and walk on the path so that you get a real feel for how big and interesting these things are.
Excellent. Must place to visit. Don’t forget to visit ANZAC. Must take time to walk through the paved bush walk. We missed this time because of weather but will do soon. If you live fishing 🎣 then that is the place.
Beach cafe is perfect and enough for you to enjoy dishes, desserts and absolutely coffees.

Great free and easy to use resource. Highly recommend it for a quick walk through the city and some of its highlights.
Disappointing. So much upselling. Like selling an empty bag. Tourism in WA is miserable. Travel long way for nothing. So many places closed or inaccessible.

Excellent audio tour of the city. Go at your own pace, each place has 1-2mins commentary, photos so you can find your way and app access to directions to walk if needed. Highly recommend
The water here is an unbelievable turquoise. The sand is pristine white. The jetty is a bonus. A place to chill out, fish or just dive into that turquoise abyss. The sun is hot so take advantage of the day. A magic spot.
This park is on the lake with direct views of the beach. Has plenty of under cover picnic tables and has an amenities block. There is a pontoon on the lake which kids play on. Lots of kayaks here today also.
One of my favourite national parks I have ever been too!! I absolutely loved the wildflowers 😍
Fantastic self-guided walking tour! Very informative and easy to use and follow. Highly recommended if you are visiting Launceston.

The new playground, half basketball court and table tennis are very popular additions. Plenty of picnic tables and BBQs to enjoy. Easy to access & beautiful location on the river.

I have lived here for about 13years it is one of the best park’s on the beach between port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour no traffic no crowds no worries blue green waterways dolphins turtles whales surf sun at the front door and lovely management.
