Dr Phu is caring and loving to the patient, he explained all the questions that’s my mum asked. The clinic is cleaned and the room is spacious enough for three people to sit.
It is my first time to book for GP Appointment in Melbourne and I searched for GP near me and The Clinic Footscray has the best reviews. It did not disappoint! I went to see Doc Nina and she was so accomodating and very concerned with the issue I had. I was well looked after. The staff are accomodating too. Would highly recommend.
I have very positive experiences in Eleanor Clinic for years. Due to my previous GP Sarah Metcalfe's persistence and timely follow up, a large benign ovary cyst was found in my abdominal area, and subsequently removed. This has eliminated lots of my discomfort including my bladder, weight in my belly, etc.
My new GP Dr. Aiden took time to listen to my issues with constant pains in my thumbs, did some resistance test. He then suggested Ultra sound and X-ray scan for my thumb and wrist area, and confirmed it's De Quervain Tenosynovitis. This requires me visiting a hand therapist for quite a few times, which is not covered by Medicare, hence costly. He then suggested to go for a care plan, which can reduce the cost significantly.
Amy, the nurse, who prepares my care plan paperwork, thoroughly asked me all the medical history and my family health history, so she has all the data needed for the care plan.
Very happy with the service! Highly recommended.

I have been coming to this clinic for more than 5 years. All the doctors are wonderful, especially Dr Welson. I am scared of needles yet did acupuncture which really helped. Thank you for caring to treat my illnesses even when I’ve gotten used to being ill and injured :) I am forever grateful

I can only speak of my experience with Doctor Katherine Saffin who was extremely rude and didn't seem to care about anything I was saying. Reception is pretty rude too!

It's been a while since I last visited MedClinic Pitt St, however I regularly saw Dr. Saffin from 2021-2022. I agree with other reviews that she can be abrasive and doesn't always make you feel cared for when you come in with a minor issue/anything routine. Even told me I was the rude one once!
With that said - she really did help me with my mental health and responded with kindness when I disclosed a traumatic event to her. She was still firm/very direct (perhaps for some it would have been too much), but she helped me get my life back on track which I am grateful for.
Maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but I thought it was worth sharing this experience, given the general theme of some other reviews.

Had no problems with getting my regular scripts even though I've never been to this particular smartclinic.

I had a disappointing experience with Dr. Katherine Saffin, which appears to be a common theme based on previous reviews. She was 20 minutes late for my appointment without offering any apology, which meant I was unable to receive the full benefit of the appointment I had hoped for. I did point out that the appointment started late and she simply told me that that was how it is in the medical field - as if my time didn’t matter. When the consultation finally began, it was very rushed and she barely took the time to engage with me properly; her overall demeanor was abrupt, lacking any proper bedside manner you would expect from a medical professional. I will not be returning to this clinic.
Dr. Tran is as rude as his receptionists. He gave me an attitude when he knew I am no longer his patient.
I needed a new doctor after leaving my old GP clinic. Dr Diana was super friendly, thorough and helpful. The reception staff are lovely and the booking process seamless. Happy to have found a great G0 practice in the west.
Dr Helen Tumusiime had been our family doctor for over 10 years. She is kind, compassionate and extremely thorough. We trust her completely and feel so grateful to have her as our GP.
My 2 year old hadn't been well, was given a prompt appointment. Front desk staff and Dr Shome were very lovely. Given a thorough check up, barely any wait times.
Can highly recommended this medical centre. It’s a challenge to find doctors who actually care for your needs. I cannot speak highly enough of the professionalism, expertise and compassion of the doctors here, as well as the nurses and receptionist.
Grateful to have found Dr Nina! She's thorough in her investigations and takes the time to educate you and set expectations so you know what's coming, but still manages to always be running on time! Honestly the best GP I've ever seen - can't sing her praises loudly enough!

The GP’s here really take the time to understand your health history and make you feel heard. Also the reception staff are lovely, and the plants/art/music in the waiting room takes the sterility out of seeing the doctor. I refer all my friends and family here :)

Well after losing a couple of doctors. I would like to say Dr. Triptie. Is a very nice and caring Dr, because if you're a 1off like all these N.C. and think that you walk in and tell Dr's you know the treatment before your assessment I would be blunt 2.
Have been going here for a few years now. Never a bad experience. All staff that I have are both excellent at their jobs and very friendly people too, including doctors, nurses, pathologists and administrators. Couldn't recommend this clinic highly enough, very welcoming environment and supportive medical professionals.
It was my daughter's first visit to the clinic and she saw Dr Panwar. He was friendly and thorough in his examination of my daughter's hand. We walked out and she stated that she liked the doctor. (Child never compliments anyone!) So well done and thankyou for looking after my child.
I have had great experiences with the doctors here, Dr Tom Russell, Dr Enan Simms-Walker, all very caring and professional. I will use it as my regular GP place from now on. I have been trying different clinics around Mill Park area and struggled to find a good Dr till I visited here. You will know what a good doctor is once you have bad experience somewhere else.

Eleanor clinic have been our regular GP clinic over the past 6 years! The doctors are always of high calibre, provide excellent medical advice and guidance. It is a team environment always ensuring best patient care is exemplified.
We currently see Dr Lisa Hong who is on top of all our medical needs, has built an excellent rapport and displays a tremendous amount of compassion and knowledge.

Nice welcoming at the reception. But then my appointment with the Dr Hazra felt rushed and not really cared for. She may have had a tough day but that’s not a reason. $95 for 2 min of consultation, to finally give me another contact because she couldn’t make my request. On the website it is explain that they do IUD replacement, but not the Copper one apparently. It could be nice to details it to avoid a waste of time and money. Thank you.
My kids and I have been seeing Dr Tom Russell for the past year, he’s the nicest GP I’ve come across and has actually stuck at the same practice this whole time, which is mind blowing given the industry. We’ve been through 2 practices and 4 different GPs since having kids and I’m so relieved to have a reliable practice where you don’t wait 3 hours to be see and can see the same person. Mind blowing. If you have kids he’s definitely your guy. 😊
I have found my visits to The Eleanor Clinic to be incredibly worthwhile. Vivien Lowe has extensive knowledge across multiple areas. She is thorough in following processes and her explanations. She’s able to keep many aspects of my health in mind while recommending treatments. I feel like I am taken seriously and not dismissed. The reception staff are also wonderful. Sometimes appointments can start 20+ mins late, but I don’t particularly mind as I know I’m getting such thorough care. I walked away from my first appointment with Vivien, with more knowledge of a condition I had been diagnosed with 3 years ago, than I had in the full 3 years of appointments with other medical professionals.

Great! Easy to book via HotDoc. The receptionists were nice. My doctor was lovely and understanding. She explained things easily and then prescribed the medication I needed. It was then easy to go to the chemist next door to get the medication.
I have been to this clinic a couple of times, and seen 3-4 different doctors, and I can honestly say that this is by FAR the best clinic I have been to in my life. I normally ignore requests for google reviews but the way doctors take the appropriate level of time and care has been incredible and so I felt compelled to share my experience. My visit today felt like I was talking to someone who had a real vested interest in my wellbeing. I was really quite taken back. Would 100% recommend this clinic.

Dr Katherine Saffin is the best Dr. I've ever had. She goes above and beyond where the other's don't. She is brilliant.
My son was sick on a Sunday I googled the clinic and they got him in quickly after my call. We hardly waited over our appointment time and the service was quick and efficient. We were really happy with the clinic and would absolutely use this clinic again.
I first went to Smart Clinics Annerley after moving into the area late last year, and have received thorough, friendly care from Dr Tripti on each visit. Coming here is stress free knowing I will always get the right diagnosis and treatment. Reception staff have always been polite and welcoming with a smile.
Dr Saffin at this clinic is bullying patients into getting covid jabs. Telling healthy young people that have already covid and multiple vaccines that they need to have the jab every 6 months and persisting with lies, fake science and scare tactics when told multiple times NO.
This is utterly negligent based on the science we now have and that the vaccine was never subject to placebo controlled clinical trials and if anything- is compromising the heart health of young people. She is wagering people’s long term health in order to maximise her Medicare payment and revenue per visit by sticking people with these jabs. Disgrace!

Worst experience ever. I took my son to the clinic because he had high temperatures and vomiting. In just 1 minute, Dr. Wrote prescription and said by. He was not interested in. He didn't check the temperature or anything. Just gave medicine for a vomit. Not recommended at all.
Just transferred to this clinic from a Smart clinic Northside. As with all good health providers i felt they encouraged proactive interaction on my part and so i was happy with my initial visit. I asked for a flu vaccine appointment and was accommodated on the day with a short wait only. Medical file transfer was easy. Great helpful staff, good team and large well run practice. 😀
The Clinic was fabulous today. I messed up my phone calendar entry as I was in Cairns when I made it (one hour behind). Of course I was then one hour late for my son’s appointment with Dr Christine Jo. The lovely receptionist (sorry I don’t remember her name) and Dr Jo were fantastic in making it happen without having to reschedule. Thank god as my son was then diagnosed with pneumonia.
I have been to the Clinic Footscray twice now and very pleased with the quality of service. Dr Lucy Crook was so helpful and gave me plenty of time. It was such a relief to get quick access to a knowledgeable and approachable GP.
This is the most genuine clinic I’ve been to in a long time. You don’t feel like you’re being rushed through but they’re great at keeping to time. Dr Saffin shows true care and takes the time needed to ensure all your concerns are covered. The receptionists are all lovely and I’ve never had an issue getting answers or copies of my records in a timely manner. It is a bonus this is bulk-billed because if I’m really sick I don’t feel like I have to fight through it to avoid a massive GP cost, especially with other cost of living at the moment
Dr Aiden was great with my child. He was friendly, clear, concise and informative. The office staff always have a smile and are extremely helpful and accommodating. A lovely, clean, happy, welcoming and professional atmosphere overall.
As a patient, my interactions with Dr Katherine Saffin over the last few years have been stressful and surprising. I've noticed a tendency towards aggression, condescension, impatience and a lack of attentive listening. The appointments are hurried, and I believe she lacks professionalism and has a bedside manner of.... zilch. I understand it's a busy practice but when dealing with people who need health support and healing, it helps to actually listen to them and show some compassion.
I usually only see her only when Dr Li (who is lovely) is unavailable, but today's appointment was as a stark reminder of why I should avoid booking with her. And I'm genuinely surprised that she appears to get away with the behaviour.
Such a shame because most of the other staff are lovely, the practice is conveniently located in the CBD and they bulk bill.

Been a patient of Dr Hazel for the past 6 years. He is the most diligent Doctor I have ever seen. I've undergone various surgeries and other procedures and have always come out better for it. He actually listens and spends proper time with you rather than try to rush you out the door like many other practices. I saw Pamela santa c leave a 1 star review because City GP aren't currently accepting new patients. What a ridiculous thing to do. There are only so many hours in a day and Dr Hazel can't help absolutely everyone, no matter how much he'd like to. There has to be a maximum capacity at some point and the fact that it has reached that point just goes to show how many patients believe in him. Writing defamatory remarks towards the practice because you didn't get what you want is not cool Pamela.

Love this medical centre! I have been going for years, all the doctors are wonderful. Incredibly knowledgeable, very attentive, and empathetic. All my concerns have always been met. They also cater for acupuncture. So happy to have found this practice which also bulk bills.

Update: I have just seen Dr Zhou again as a specialist authorised her to provide me with prescriptions while he is on leave. The appointment went well until the end when she essentially dismissed me as a patient citing the poor patient relationship and the ‘hurt to her’ and took no responsibility for her role in the problem. I can only assume that someone made her aware of this review.

Katie is my ‘regular’ gp and I have noticed very concerning trends with her record keeping and not noting new medications that were prescribed by other doctors or bothering to keep an eye on chronic health conditions that require monitoring. Now she has refused to fill in paperwork despite me booking an extended appointment for that purpose and claimed that the e-script and MHCP review she did was already ‘extra work’. Being bulk billed is not worth substandard care. Dr Sia and Dr Jao provide a more acceptable level of care, but avoid Dr Katie Yonghong Zhou at all costs.

The most knowledgeable GP I have ever been to. Has helped me through numerous medical issues I have had. Has always had the right diagnosis.
Have seen Dr Rahul Lal a few times and every time I’ve had a consult he really takes the time to talk to his patients and is incredibly thorough. Strongly reccomend.
Doctor Thac Phan is lovely but male receptionist is extremely rude. I had booked an appointment and he advised the appointment was not in the system. When entering patient details he had entered it incorrectly interfering with my appointment with the doctor. He also didn't accept his mistake and was extremely condescending and rude. He needs to have more common decency and manners.
The woman on service 08/02/2023 was yelling at us. She didn't let me talk, she just yelled. How come there are some one like that working at Health Clinic ??? For sure that we never come back and we sure will tell with all our relationships won't come too. Terrible !!!
The nurse who looks after us at the Clinic Footscray is the best nurse we have ever experienced. She is super professional, organised, kind, patient and when giving us our vaccines, we don't even feel the needles. She is so gentle that it is unbelievably painless, especially for the kids. Thank you.

I started seeing Ian 15 years ago and now i live 1.5 hours away i will still travel to see him. I must say he is thorough, knowledgeable, caring, personable, friendly. He works with a select group of specialists that have all been great as well. He provides end to end care
I have found Dr Phan very compassionate And caring doctor very professional and quick response to pick up what’s going on with my body and emotional well being. Also when I presented with my granddaughter he was very efficient on doing bloods and picking up that my granddaughter had leukaemia therefore saving her life as early stages and being quick and efficient she was able to get into RCH ASAP.

I have been seeing Dr Loc for many years and have never felt that he truly cares about my health. An indifferent, in&out in 5min consultation is what I usually get from him. Sometimes I happened to see him on his bad day and he was just short and rude to me. You might ask why I'm still going to this clinic. Well, it's close by and waiting time is often less than 30min. Also, I've been looking for a better doctor but as you know it's not easy to find a good and caring doctor in the west.
This clinic has been open for 40 years, serving the Vietnamese community since the 80s
Padstow Road Medical Centre Doctors is a small, local community serving Doctors Surgery owned and operated by Doctor Peter Hew. Dr Hew has demonstrated wonderful skill as a doctor, and as a genuine, caring person from my experiences. Anything from family and children advice, simple ailments, up to stitching up a bone-deep finger laceration from a broken glass accident where I can no longer even see a scar 12 months later, his expertise has been well beyond any other practice I've ever visited, both near and far.
Dr Neil Tran is a very knowledgeable doctor with decades of experience particulalrly with mens issues

He is not one of your regular "Read your name off a clipboard in a monotone voice as they barely look at you, hesitate to examine you, and tell you that you are fine" doctors. No.
Dr Ian has an outstanding sense of humour, and he absolutely displays it. He will also actually take the time to find out your family history, and check over you thoroughly.
The entire appointment I felt like he actually gave a damn about my health, and most importantly, actually knew what he was doing.
If you live anywhere near the CBD and are in need of a solid GP, absolutely place your trust in Dr Ian; you will not regret it.

Avoid Dr Thac Phan if you value your life.A Doctor without an action plan, is not fit to practice medicine. Been a patient for over 9 years. Presented all symptoms and suffered a heart attack.When i confronted him over lack of care, he was offended. Enter Dr Michael Feldman . He offered me hope. Dr Feldman employment lasted less than one week @ SHMC. All of a sudden, Dr Phan started to show interest in my health. A ploy that would distract me from the real issue. Then , when i really needed assistance to place my 81 yo mother into hospice ,due to her severe cognitive issues, as a result of her deteriorating dementia ,he referred me to North Western Mental Health triage for having relationship issues with my mother. He persistently offered anti depressants , for which i declined. Later was informed from Medicare , that he claimed mental health issues payment , which is 3.5 times normal medicare rebate offered. Touche , for he tried to discredit me with mental issues.I would have received better treatment from a witch doctor. Then the male receptionist hopelessly inserted falsified material into my medical records at Dr T.P request. Vishnu will ultimately decide what good deeds to reward them both ! For the record, i finally found Dr Michael Feldman , working out of Intergrated Medical Centre and made him my physician. Now my health and headspace is finally in order.

I have been attendening this clinic for a number of years now and find it to be the best I have been to. You dont have to wait long periods of time, reception are always friendly and personable. I see doctor thomas and find him to be very knowledgeable and passionate about giving his clients the best possible health care. He seems to be always updating his knowledge and has been able to provide me with expectional health care. Dr Thomas is very personable and takes his time to check his patients and do the neccessary tests required for optimal health. He is also personable and really cares about his patients health. It is clear that Dr Thomas is a professional who is very passionate about his work.I give him 5/ 5 rating and highly recommended him.
I found the GP to be unnecessarily touchy, bordering on inappropriate.
Absolute Joke of a medical centre, I would not even recommend my worst enemy go here. Dr Loc Ngo should probably just retire before he kills someone by prescribing them medication they are allergic to most likely because he is already a corpse that won’t lie down, and as for the other doctor he just hands out prescriptions for any scheduled 8 narcotic you want, walk in and walk out 45 seconds later with a perecription. Maybe when someone dies this place will be closed down like it should be.
Dr Hazell is a great doctor. Have been seeing him for several years and am always very happy with his service and care. Genuine and caring and takes time to catch up with you properly.
Dr Hazel is an amazing doctor. He ensures that you understand his advice and why he has given it, and he speaks in plain English. He takes sufficient time with you that you feel assured he knows what's going on, and his treatment with respect to myself has been highly effective. I would gladly recommend him to anybody.
I've been seeing Ian for several years. He's an old school family style doctor - not your 5 minute, rush rush type. I like the fact he takes the time to understand what's happening with me on a range of fronts so he can recommend a proper holistic approach. A great doctor - highly recommended.
Dr Ian Hazel is a breath of fresh air. He looks you in the eye when he speaks to you, he doesn't rush for scripts, he's happy to explain himself as much as you need and take time discussing your treatment options. He's just an all round decent bloke who knows his craft but hasn't neglected the human side of it like so many of the awful production line style GPs you could see in the city. I highly recommend.
