The direct debit went up for swimming lessons and the service has gone downhill! I have had 4 lessons cancelled for my sons swimming due to not having enough teachers! and was promised that this month's direct debit would be 0 and they have taken the full amount today.
Decent enough for a local leisure centre, but in the pursuit of profit and the ideal client they closed their creche and took away a life line for local parents. Me being one of them. Currently in desperate need of a refurb.
I've been a member of the Aquatics Centre for a few months, using both swimming and gym facilities about four times a week. The overall design of the building on the outside is timeless but the wood that surrounds the top of the building needs some urgent treatment as it does appear to be rotting on the north west side.
I have never had an issue with cleanliness of the venue, perhaps I'm just lucky but the pool has always been spotless. The changing rooms could be a tiny bit more clean but it's not unclean to the point where it would actively deter me from changing there.
The gym is relatively small and I have to lower my score here. There is quite a lot of equipment out of service at the moment. Rowing machines take up quite a lot of space in one corner - but only one of them is really working. Hopefully with a change of the venue caretaker, we'll see some better and less break-prone equipment too.
Also, I've read through some reviews on here and I'm a little bit bewildered as to why some people say that the lifeguards are rude - I have never experienced a rude lifeguard here, if anything the lifeguard was upset with you because you were taking pictures of your child with other people in the pool, which is made clear that you're not allowed to multiple times. But hey, you'll leave a bad review on here just to "prove" your point.

The gym facilities after the upgrade are a lot better and greater value for money. However with the increased volume of members and non competitive membership price the place has become a wasteland. The PT’s keep the gym clean, which shows their professionalism and dedication to providing the best environment for training .Those who are responsible for cleaning and maintaining the changing areas and spa facilities do nothing but the bare minimum. On an average week, the floors within the shower areas and steam room are caked in mud and grit as well as there always being broken toilets and rubbish showers.

Have been using this gym for around 2 years, 3-5 times a week. In summary - very good for the price. Some of the equipment is tired and occasionally out of action but I would still rate 5 stars given how cheap it is for the area (and includes a swimming pool but slots are tricky to land).

Turned up to play squash having made a reservation on their website. They only had one racket and no balls for us to use because “they just get wrecked”. Was offered if we wanted to use the gym but not really the same… pretty rubbish for a facility not to provide basic equipment or mention in the booking process to bring your own. We didn’t make a scene and just accepted a refund but this was really annoying as it ruined our plans!
Love this place. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Any problems, they are quick to sort it out. Dulwich leisure centre is very clean. Especially the toilets.
Too crowded and no hot water. Changing rooms are never cleaned and mould is present everywhere. Lack of maintenance and will not recommend to anyone since this is a health hazard which needs to be shut down immediately
I have been going to this gym for over a year now, and I quite enjoy working out there for few reasons such as 24/7 access, friendly staff members, friendly community, showers and water fountain. I don’t think anyone needs more than this. HOWEVER:
Equipment is quite low quality, and I am talking about the machines. The cable machines can break easily and it takes quite a long time to have them fixed. If you enjoy barbell and dumbbell work, you won’t have any problems as there are plenty of barbells and dumbbels for everyone! There is one problem which really puts me off and discourages me from working out “harder than last time” and that is no safety bars on racks. The gym has 4 racks in the middle(which can be used for anything like squat, OHP or bench) with NO safety bars available, and 2 other squat racks,close to these 4, with non-adjustable safety bars. These bars are so low I think they were made for gnomes. Regardless, you are not safe if you want to squat to failure unless you have 3-6 spotters. If this gym had safety bars as attachments it would be the best low cost gym in the area no doubt.

It's an alright place. The cleanliness is really bad. In the swimming changing area there is powder, old paper and it usually smells like urine. On the other hand, if you have children that do swimming lessons than free swimming is unlimited access.
Great place to pump iron, burn calories and be active while being spoilt by the choices of classes with an innovative booking system.
All of the staff I have met are kind and keen to help. Mixture of client base from all walks of life conversing in the steam room or the sauna.

Victoria Leisure are also very competitive with their member's fees. Some of the members have been in Victoria for 20+ years! Say no more.

I signed up to the swimming only monthly membership as wanting to swim at least three times a week this easily saved me lots of money. I was surprised and pleased to discover the that covered in the monthly cost was access to the steam room and sauna. Eastleigh Leisure Centre seems excellent value for money to me and the staff have always been polite and helpful
Rejoined the gym and had a thorough induction based on my specific needs. The instructor was polite friendly and professional. She answered all my questions and asked me at each stage of the induction activities how I was feeling. I thought that this was a nice touch.

Another class cancelled this morning - though the App says 'fully booked '- great for Leisure Centre Statitics, but not a clear indication of how many classes are actually CANCELLED due to staff shortages. This is becoming too regular to be acceptable !

I love this swimming pool. It’s a great place to swim for both, if you are a beginner or advanced swimmer. But the water in the shower is boiling hot! We have raised this problem several times at the desk but nothing has happened. Maybe at some point it got better but it’s back to hot now. They say it’s an independent company who cares for the Water and although the swimming pool informs them of the problem they don’t do anything. How is this possible?? This is the best swimming pool in London I can’t believe they can’t sort it out for more than a year now!!!!!
Also, the place is cleaned very well, several times a day, which is great, but unfortunately not the pools! I can see so many disgusting things in the bottom of the pool floating around. I would expect more from an amazing place like this. If this two things were sorted it would get 5 stars.

OK gym with all the basic equipment. It's quite small and often crowded. There's not enough machines that makes you work on your abs and some are just not adjustable enough to fit. Equipment feels cheap. I only go there as it's convenient for now but definitely not the best gym I've been to.
Terrible experience with these two guards, I paid for the swimming but I didn’t go in the water immediately because I felt the water a bit cold for me and a bit unwell, so I sat on the side to watch my baby in case she needs help. They kept asking me if I don’t go in the pool, I need to go out now, their attitude were so poor, didn’t want to listen, just used the high voice to ask me go, even I said I would go in the water when I feel better, I already paid for this. But now, the man kept arguing with me until I must go! That was terrible attitude of them! Is that hurting someone if I feel not ready to go in the water immediately and sit on the side? Ps: I and my family just went in for 5 minutes, and I just sat there for 3-4 minutes!!!! What a joke!

The neurodivergent friendly gym! Low sensory atmosphere with calm acoustics (except during classes so avoid) and muted colours, not too many mirrors. Plenty of equipment so not much waiting around.
This is honestly by far the dirtiest swimming pool I have ever seen. The changing rooms and sanitary facilities are so dirty that we decided to leave immediately before entering the pools, even though we had already paid. It seems that the facility has not been cleaned since it opened in 2012. The architecture is impressive and worth visiting, but unfortunately it is not sufficiently maintained. If you decide to go swimming anyway, you need a £1 coin for the lockers.
This place is top quality. Not only is it the cleanest sport setup I've ever been to, they've got good quality pitches and at a good price. The staff are incredibly helpful. I left my GoPro on the pitch, but after a phone call, there was happy to post it back when I sent them a label. Emailed me and kept in contact the whole way through. Top staff, top facilities.
Olympic swimming with more than 10 lanes. They also have a 25 meters pool and a cafe. Great place for swimming around Stratford.

I love the gym itself it’s a beautiful building and I actually feel sorry for the staff cos I think they must get so many complaints on behalf of everyone active and now Southwark council management. It’s clearly not their issue. But this gym is awful! It’s £29.99 a month and essentially robbery. There hasn’t had Wi-Fi for months and they’ve had an on going hot water issue for months too which i find insane seeing as surely Wi-Fi and hot water are two very basic facilities a gym should have. I mean no hot water is seriously unhygienic and in winter too?! When you’ve just got out the pool are you expected to take a cold shower? They should refund members for the time these issues have been on going. Also the gym is WAY over subscribed. I love that there’s young people, old people and people of all abilities it makes for a lovely community atmosphere but then there’s times where the gym is so busy with people who can clearly afford a nicer and better gym and no space or any machines available. Sad because I think there’s a lovely community here but I’ll have to leave soon cos the facilities are so tragic and there seems to be no change…

I love this pool SO MUCH, but… someone has to clean it. Seriously. I’ve been coming to swim into the 50m pool and the level of dirt all around the pool is sickening. I’ve seen the same ear plugs in the same spot for 3 weeks in a row now. Ear plugs abandoned everywhere and you can see the floor is covered in slimy dirt. Such a shame because otherwise this would be the best place ever to swim. I hope you’re going to improve e the cleaning of the pool and changing rooms soon, or I might have to consider to go to some other place, with a heavy heart.

Victoria Leisure has good facilities with a good range of classes. I came to a fantastic Zumba class on Saturday and got a high energy HIIT work out on Sunday by booking by phone on a PAYG basis. There's a small cafe area as well.
Went here for the first time to use the pool. Nice pool, good temperature. Unfortunately the changing rooms were quite cold and had a background odour of urine. The staff were spraying air freshener into all the cubicles but they may have been better off addressing the source
We love the baby swimming lessons there, but the toilets and locker rooms are not very clean most of the time...
Easy parking. Small gym. Relatively cheap membership. Friendly staff. Big swimming pool, better for competent swimmers only. Not a leisure pool. Good size sports hall, enough for 8 badminton courts. Nice and hot showers.

Its a one stop "shop" for keeping fit. Gyms, Swimming, Sauna & Steam Room. Keep fit /Swimming Classes for all ages with a great friendly staff and atmosphere. VERY clean work out areas and swimming pools..A coffee shop as well, to relax after a hard, or easy session.What's not to like?😍😍

Recently moved to the area from Brighton was keen to find a new gym closer rather then travel into Brighton however I found Poor, cheap equipment rock hard benches that are slippery compared to the my old Gym in Brighton the Gym was over crowded and parking was a nightmare. Showers were dirty and had hair everywhere. I have now gone back to my old Gym in Brighton the travel is a pain but it’s worth it for the environment and far superior equipment
Great for swimming lessons and the staff are really friendly. Had a couple of birthday parties there too. They certainly tire the kids out!
Went swimming for the first time at this leisure centre with my two children. No issue with the pool or changing facilities but there seemed to be skating taking place in the main hall. Unfortunately the skaters were skating at full speed through the cafe and halls with no consideration for other customers. None of the staff said or did anything and this continued throughout our visit. We will not be returning.
My girls have been going here for 3 weeks now, and are loving it. Appears to be a very well structured and safe environment.
I have cancelled the the subscription 3 months ago still getting charged without a refund. They are unfair and just care about the money. Happened to a few people that I know of too.

Just joined this Gym, the lady behind the counter was very pleasant and friendly and sorted out the membership for me. I have used the pool before and always had great service and the facilities are clean and looked after.
Amazing pool - 2m deep everywhere except the diving area where it goes down to 3.8m. Very clean, light, airy and warm. Water a reasonable temperature. Grandson does swimming lessons there.

We were more fans of the original place but I feel like the new location will grow on us just seems all too compressed at the moment.
If you’re looking to join, I highly recommend trying it out first and paying as you go for a few weeks / a month so you get a sense of the place and all the different times you might use it / how busy it gets / how it’s run etc. I made the mistake of paying up front for an annual membership with Everyone Active right before Southwark took it over. I just don’t think Southwark have the operational experience to run leisure centres properly. The gym I would say is “okay” but lots of the equipment is poorly maintained and tired. I was using it for mainly for swimming, but have largely given up at this point. There simply aren’t enough lane swimming sessions - the times are either first thing in the morning, midday, or late at night. Almost all lane sessions are full at least a week out, so you have to be very on top of checking the app every single day to book a week in advance. There is a waiting list and spots do become free, often an hour or two beforehand, but it’s a really clunky system and you can’t rely on it. They’ve also closed the pool now several times, often for weeks at a time, without any compensation. So certainly in terms of swimming, unless you’re making use of the Southwark Resident Free Gym and Swim at the weekends, personally I think membership here is a waste of money as there are other better run pools. If you do take out a membership I strongly advise not selecting the annual option - the discount for paying annually just isn’t worth it when they keep closing the facilities due to issues and don’t offer any comp. - at least paying monthly you have the option to cancel your membership more easily. Just wish I realised all that earlier.
I signed my daughter up for swimming lessons and arranged for the teacher to be in the water with her, we turned up for her first lesson and was told she wouldn't have the teacher in the water with her. It's not what I paid for, and even after speaking to the swimming manager they didn't seem that bothered. Extremely unhappy after paying all that money

Due to lack of better options I decided to sign up for my gym here. More times than not the staff is borderline rude. I’ve never had an introductory tour although I asked for it multiple times. The gym and swimming pool are extremely busy. It’s pretty much impossible to book a swim session outside of silly hours such as 1pm when majority of people are at work. There are also not enough classes at a reasonable time and majority are squeezed into the morning hours. The gym equipment is outdated and the gym area needs renovation and a good clean. Although the monthly membership price is affordable, it doesn’t justify the poor customer service and inadequate facilities.
We play over 55 badminton on a Monday and Thursday it's great fun. If you're interested just turn up, the Leisure Centre staff are very friendly and helpful. Oops forgot it's between 9am and 12am.

Friendly staff, good venue with everything you need in a leisure centre. Excellent park run nearby, and you’ll be doing well if you can get under 21 minutes on the tough unforgiving hilly course. 🏃🏽♂️💙
Great exercise venue in Southport. Inside a building which was public baths in the Victorian era. Three swimming pools, weights and exercise machines, studios for classes, café area. Friendly staff. Reasonable membership fees. Kept nice and clean.

Wi-Fi constantly down. Inside the gym itself you can’t get signal so majority rely on the Wi-Fi. The sound system in the gym has not been working for best part of March. When you ask staff to turn up what music you can hear seems it goes in one ear and out the other. Love the gym but the small things are what makes it much better. I mean surely they can get these minors sorted but seems to take them the time it would to sort major problems. Shame really as it doesn’t look good on the establishment.

My daughter does Spirals on Fridays and they couldn't be more helpful. Fantastic coaches who know how to develop children to release their true potential, fantastic facilities ensuring no one can get hurt and allowing confidence to try out stunts. Most of the floor is padded and bouncy and a veriety of equipment from high beams to bars, trampolines and foam pit to encourage various jump stunts. Awesome experience and my daughter always looks forward to going.
My daughter has now been going to Spiral Gymnastics for sometime and I love how well she is developing with the leadership of the coaches. The facilities have recently been refurbished which includes the lobby area to allow more space for parents to watch their kids doing their favourite sport. Highly recommend to anyone who is wanting to start their kids on Gymnastics and develop the skills to a professional level.

Highly recommend to anyone who is wanting to start their kids on Gymnastics and develop the skills to a professional level.
Re joined after only 6weeks in last time then covid hit.Only sorry I left it so long to come back.I feel so comfortable in here. Just trying lots of classes and found quite a few I will stick with.

I hosted a badminton tournament here and it went very successfully. The participants involved in the tournament were very impressed with the leisure centre and really liked it. The courts are big and lots of space around for people to watch which is good. Impressive!
Fantastic facilities. Always clean and the staff are very helpful. There is a small food station and a comfortable area to sit and relax.
Male wet changing room are a little too snug for a facility so large. All in all still a 5 star facility.

First time visit and pretty impressed. Large car parks, clean, well presented and the sports hall is great size, bright and well designed.
The garrison gym does not provide a separate way to buy water or refreshments. If there of site companies vending machines are broke which they are a lot you can’t buy nothing. Any other sports facility I’ve used or been to you have several ways to buy refreshments. I’ve complained about it for months and the machines are out of order a lot.
Great Place! My niece is training here for 3 hours a week. I found it very welcoming.
It is disappointing to be paying a large sum of money to receive a incomplete service. With 2 of the 3 cable machines out of action with another one on the edge of death it is sad to say this gym is not what it once was. Various machine require maintenance with loose bolts and a shortlist of injuries that are waiting to happen. As a long standing customer of several plus years and paying a large sum of money Monthly, I find it appalling thats it takes a number of months for broken equipment to get recognised let alone fixed.
It is important to note that the day to day gym staff are amazing and treat every member of the paying public with full respect and deal with complaints on the matter time and time again. It is the lack of action from higher management that has resulted in long standing customer considering moving in to another gym.

GLC since my last review a year ago has dramatically gone down hill, staff leaving/hours being cut, gym equipment outdated and always breaking/out of order, place being left unstaffed and cleaners here clean everywhere else in the GLC other than the gym I love this place but Shame there is always something wrong, such a shame and typically cutting to try and save money but killing the quilty all together

My daughter has started classes here and so far she is loving it! The place seems to need a little love but overall feels like a safe and happy environment
My daughter loves going to gym here and always will have a smile when she learns something new
In 20 years I've not come across a friendlier, more welcoming club. I've been a member at a Pure Gym, JD Gyms, the DW over at Ocean Plaza and there's a reason this place is still going strong! The facilities at the Vic are excellent value. I like the privacy of all the individual training areas in this place and my other half loves the option of the ladies only gym downstairs. Pool facilities always well maintained and a great place to unwind after work. The new temperature check kit at the front reception area is a great extra touch to keep everyone safe. The front of house staff (especially Lisa!) always speak to you like you're part of the family and it's got a real community feel to it. Highly recommend!
My daughter is 1 year there since age 3 and loves it. The teachers are strict enough for the kids to feel respect and learn discipline but also can handle emotional situations very well.
The leisure centre is fully open. Covid-19 issues are a thing of the past now. The gym has the normal disintectant sprays and paper towels available. The centre has undergone a major refurbishment and re-branding with Everyone Active, but the majority of the staff are the same. They are very friendly and its good to see more activities. The equipment in the gym is impressive; however, when its busy there doesn't appear to be a lot of free space! So be patient and attentive!
Watch out for all the parties in the function rooms and main hall during weekend afternoons. Car parking is at the rear but can get full when parties are being held or children's gymnastics is on. There is a good-sized swimming pool that is very popular. The dry changing rooms have cosy, hot saunas.

Way better value for table tennis and squash than bitterne leisure centre which was more than 3 times the price!
Not sure what's up with their booking though. Was told today they only had 1 available spot for squash at 1.00 but there were courts unused before and after.
Good large car park. Also bike park and motorcycle places.
Hint: try the blackbird community cafe round the corner for good and well priced coffee, cakes and bacon baps.

Worked here shortly, good atmosphere just didn't work out at the time I think if more people local to this gym know about it. Its worth it is say better for general fitness and lifestyle or for PTs holding classes etc. Quiet gym in public hours.

My daughters confidence has grown leaps and bounds in 3 months. Her skill set has grown by several moves too. Love this place.
We went to the soft play. Nice and cheap, but quite limited. Just in a big hall - a few soft shapes arranged around, some balance beams, a few ride ons, some toys and a bouncy castle. My daughter is 2, so too small for the bouncy castle, and she got bored and wanted to go home after less than an hour.
First class leisure centre, fit for the 21st century. Reception team very helpful. Good cafe and staff . Cafe kept clean. Snacks and drinks available.
Toilets in cafe are also available.
Pool activities for the older person are very popular, but the activities are not just for that age group . From infants to pensioners, age is not a barrier.

Ideal gym to use straight after work, not intimidating if you feel self conscious about your body, an excellent gym for a beginner, classes available within the cost of your cheap monthly subscription. Friendly and helpful staff to help you towards your goals. Can you turn the radio down a little bit though please
After our second 'lockdown' in April' 21 the gyms have reopened and Britain seems to have rediscovered the art of queuing (see photo).

Great fun. The open session on a Tuesday was brilliant for my 2 1/2 year old daughter, me and her had a really good time.
Thank goodness it's under new management after the disgusting previous owners.
BUT the play part in the day time has completely gone down hill.
There is nothing there apart from a few baby toys which are broken or have no point to them ( requires accessories for example. )
There's now a huge pool of foam pieces in which was fun but it's over crowded with members there so people who are going to just have fun like what it's supposed to be for when they are not doing lessons it's impossible, we tried sitting in their allowing younger ones to jump in from the edge and older ones playing around the edges because gymnastics are jumping in doing flips, it's very dangerous and non members weren't able to enjoy themselves ( not only us ).
There were a few parents who were clearly parents of members there who were telling some children who were only playing that they shouldn't be playing because their children were practising, which made them leave which was unkind.
I couldn't wait to get out, I was very annoyed I wasted our money going there, I thought we would go because we remember how good it was there and wanted to go back since the new management.
Overall, members ( apart from some of the younger girls ) were very unwelcoming and had no shame in being rude and loudly making comments about them being there to practise to people who were there to have fun, those being parents and the few members who were boys.

What can I say that is positive about the gym:- The ex-manager James was really good and professional, staff are friendly and the gym is virtually empty.
A big waste of gym space, 3 studios that are hardly used. Cheap quality machines. The assisted pull up machine is 10 foot of the ground :-) not good if you are afraid of heights. If you do fall off accidently your guaranteed a nice injury.
The gym was designed by someone who never trained on doesn't have a clue about fitness.
The atmosphere in the gym is poor.
The gym does not get cleaned regularly, the dust under the weight rack looks like Santa Claus shed his beard.
The front of house is empty a lot of the time due to poor staffing levels, anyone can walk into the gym and its not very welcoming to see an empty reception.
The gym times are not the best 6-8 morning and 5-10 evening.
Even though the gym is hardly used by the college and remains empty during the day, there is no budging on earlier use.
Some college staff have an attitude and complain if the car park is used for training.... wait for it ....stating that the tarmac will get damaged.
It looks like lifestyle fitness don't know to look after their staff and clients and the college staff, only a couple I should say need to drop their attitude.
