Lots to do even for those under 2. Activities, coloring stations, gymnasiums, making art, painting, drawing, etc. Have small snack bar and a pizza place and drinks. Plan to spend a few hours to do everything!
Super fun place to visit, especially if you are visiting from out of town. There are several exhibits with optical illusions and interactive displays to enjoy. It was fun trying to figure out how several of the illusions worked. Definitely take lots of pictures while you are here. It’s not an overly big place, so if it isn’t crowded you can probably see and explore everything in less than 90 minutes (and that’s with plenty of time to experience each item on display). I will say that it is a bit over priced but it’s worth doing once (I doubt I’d visit a second time though).
Absolutely fantastic! I visited here 33 years ago and this visit was far and above the better of the two.

However, the reason it was so great is that my son and I sprang for the "National Treasure" tour. Our tour guide, who I believe was named Matthew, was absolutely fantastic. Very knowledgeable and friendly.

I highly recommend visiting if you are in the area.
Best for kids 10 and under.
Creative thinking, innovative for young minds, fun interactive activities. Kid aprons provided at paint station and ponchos at fishing hole. Seating located throughout. Birthday party rooms available. Alma Mexicana performances very entertaining. Gift shop open during your scheduled time. No re-entry allowed.
No discounts offered. Park in garage across from museum. Avoid visiting during, sports or special events parking price increases. Clean environment, and friendly staff.

The facility itself is very nice, clean, and creative! I love the little shops - it’s made to look like a little town that’s toddler size. The only thing I didn’t like was the customer service. The people at the front desk aren’t very polite and they are overly strict on things that should be a little flexible in my opinion. For a facility that caters to children, I think the customer service should be much more exciting, perky, nice. They’re super bland and a little rude.
It was 30 years but so worth the wait… after a massive renovation- including A/C Mount Vernon is back to the way it was in 1799 - including the correct color apparently! Yeah! All the wood exterior panels were painted - then coated in SAND! Genius! It made all the beveled wood look like sandstone!
Ohhhh… don’t forget the HUGE new space including theaters and interactive exhibits. Such a great learning experience for kids and adults. Don’t forget to hike down to the 16-sided barn/grain house and pioneer town. There’s even livestock on site.
The grounds were beautiful and kept in great condition. There were a couple of spots where water gathered and became mud. The buildings have been kept in great condition and are very interesting. It did get quite hot so I would recommend going earlier or later in the day.
Such a fun experience. Tip, buy the season pass well worth it. Very colorful throughout. Three floors of activities. Even a character crayon! Play doh, water activities. My favorite was make your own personalized crayon.
I cannot say enough great things about Mt Vernon! Beautiful grounds and property! Wonderful staff! Incredible restaurant! Great place to hang out for a day and learn about early American history. Our server Justin was great! I highly recommend this spot 👌
I went here with a group and so I didn't pay full price, therefore it was worth the money. There is plenty to do and lots of different fun activities. The reason I didn't rate Crayola 5 stars is because of the gruff staff. They are just too rough around the edges to make a children's experience fulfilling. To be sure there were one or two people who were good with kids, but by and large most employees lacked any enthusiasm, which is necessary to make a completely positive children's experience. I consider this a failure of management because they are responsible for hiring. If the staff were nicer we would probably be season ticket holders. Oops Crayola. On the upside this is a solvable problem. We'll see if Crayola is willing to take up the charge.
Love this place! The pricing is good and it’s clean! Great indoor playground for hot summer afternoons.
We had a blast! We had a great time and they do a very good job of laying everything out and making it very interactive. The staff was very helpful and nice. They took lots of photos for us which was great as we were not wanting to do the extra photo selfie experience. It took us around 40 minutes to hit the whole museum and it was worth going to. I'm not sure if we'll come back anytime soon as its one of those things that you see once and then you're done... but it was still fun and enjoyable.
1st time here. We took our grandson. He loved it. Parking was hard to find at 1st. I liked that there was plenty of beaches for me to sit and rest while my grandson ran himself crazy. There are 4 floors of fun for the kids. Plenty of interactive things for them to do. Lots of opportunity to buy coins to play different things.
I took my nephew here to do something different. I haven't been here since I was in the 4th grade and the inner kid in me was having so much fun! My nephew loved making his own crayons as well as using the modeling clay! This place is perfect for all ages. Jungle gyms for different age groups. Creating different crafts with crayons. Staff informative! Overall a great experience and can't wait to go back again!!!!!
Very cool little place. My kids are 4 and 11 so I was worried one may have fun and not the other. I also wondered if it would be worth the $$ for the length of time we could possibly be there. There was surprisingly so many different activities to do and both kids really enjoyed it. Hours of fun for a great price.
I love the Children's Museum and my children love the Children's Museum. Great way to burn off some energy and get some educational time in. I really love the person that did the sound lesson upstairs. I wish they had more people at the different stations to explain to the kiddos what was happening to make it a little more educational and not just play.
My family and I didn't know what to expect when we visited Discovery Children's Museum. We had a fantastic time!! My wife and kids enjoyed it. They have many activities. The big slide/sky climber was a great attraction and enjoyable for kids and adults. There are other play areas i.e. a diner theme, water fun, reading nook, etc. When you purchase a ticket, you get a discount at Philips Seafood 2 blocks away which was amazing. We will definitely visit again!
This is a super fun place to come with young children. You can enter free and see a lot of different types of animals up close in their cages such as birds, turtles, lizards, snakes, bunny rabbits, Guinea pigs, and much more! A neat educational experience for young ones.
We are members! We come quite often and every time our kids find something new to play with. If you live in Atlanta, I would recommend you just become a member. By the time you pay for you and the kids once or twice, you bought the membership. Parking is a bit tricky but if you come often enough you’ll figure out where the cheaper spots are too. Come join us! We love this place!
Went for my birthday and had a blast! Pleasantly surprised how cool a lot of the illusions are! Some of them even stumped me. Highly recommend for date night or family day if you’re looking for something fun and interactive to do in the area.

Fun experience. The kids loved it. Would recommend going as a day trip. The Photo Booth in the gift shop while expensive, got us some of the must fun pics with our toddlers. Was perfect after a Day with Thomas which is 5 mins away in Phillipsburg, NJ.
This was a very cool experience. The exhibits were very cool and I love the interaction. It made for a fun time with the kids and dinner really cool pictures. I even learned a thing or two. I would definitely visit again!
This place is beautiful and you'll learn a lot of interesting stuff! You get a free tour ticket if you ask for it once you purchase it. If you buy online, they should give you one at the entrance or might tell you just to go in as they didn't check for the tickets. We rode bikes here and I'd highly recommend that as the bike ride was so beautiful! The line to get tickets on a Saturday around 3pm wasn't packed. It cost about $27 per person.
Enjoy my pictures for free!
The best children’s museums we’ve been to yet (and we’ve been to a few) great activities in each floor. Multiple areas to play with different concepts. Love the toddler (3 and under room). All around a place the kids played for hours and could play many more.
It has changed A LOT since I was a kid. I did enjoy my time and I liked the new additions. Even my youngest child, only 1 year old, had some space to play and have fun. However, there were quite a few things that were broken or not functional and it was disappointing to not see those things operate. All of the staff were friendly and quickly helped you out. Overall, we had a good day and my son was sad to leave.
Museum of Illusions - Atlanta is an absolute blast for families! We had a fantastic time exploring the mind-bending optical illusions. My 10-year-old nephew couldn't get enough of the interactive exhibits and mind-boggling displays. From rooms that made us question our perception to mind-bending sculptures, every corner was a new adventure. The staff was friendly and helpful, adding to the overall positive experience. We spent hours laughing, taking pictures, and creating unforgettable memories. If you're looking for a fun and unique museum experience, don't miss out on the Museum of Illusions - Atlanta!
It was our first time here and wanted to take our little one, but all of us enjoyed here. It has lot of activities to keep us engaged. Some of the ones we enjoyed as a family was drip art, melt &mold, wax hands, make your own crayon, print and paint stations, play area etc ! But could have had more activities that are more toddler friendly !
We had a wonderful time at the natural history museum. I’m usually go for art museums but this was a nice change of pace. It was very informative but it did seem to be mostly catered to children info wise. On that note, if you’re choosing between the DC museums, this one had a lot of school trips the day I went so it made some of the more narrow rooms harder to navigate. Overall, lots of cool things to see! I recommend starting with the gem room if you get there first thing to avoid the crowds.
Man we went as a group of 4 and we had a blast we spent hours in here it has everything from mind-blowing illusions to interactive activities to do. The staff was awesome and it really seemed like they liked their jobs and were super helpful with taking pictures and making sure we got the best picture and experience. Its a great place to go for a date, or out doing something with friends, as well as take your kids.
Amazing museum for all ages and possibly one of the best museums dc has to offer. Loved the animal fossil collection (especially the dinosaur skeletons) and the space artifacts.

Kids would love it but it could easily take an entire day to leisurely view all of them. But even then it was an information overload, in a good way.

Can be crowded on holidays or weekends (specially summer), but its not something that would dampen your experience, so visit when you can!
We live in the area and visit often how everything this time was a bit different. My disinter was visiting with her 5 kids (ages 6-17) When we arrived we ate at Americas Table, it was great to fuel us for the tour. Overall. Each person in our group was happy with what they saw and enjoyed the visit. There’s plenty of food trucks outside when you’re finished with the tour. Check it out. It’s busy on the weekends. If you can go during the week I’d suggest that. Lots to see!!
Perfect indoor experience for kids of all ages. Great air conditioning!!! Indoor play tower for 2-10yr olds and one for little tikes too. Lots of activities included in general admission. Make your own crayon wrapper and wrap a crayon. Free washable marker toy. $.50 putty model clay that is great for kids and does not stain (unless water is added). Adventure after adventure. You can make molds, art, and dancing origami. Really best activity of our entire trip…no wait and no heat. The store was amazing. I blew $100 in amazing crayon stuff in there. Tickets are about $30. Again, hidden gym. Best place in town.
There’re many entertainments for kids to enjoy and my 4 year old son loves to come here again. That means it’s worth to get an annual pass which is only +$10 from daily pass / person.
Wonderful place for children and their families. Things to learn and have fun. Parking wasn't fun. Pay a higher price. You can park close.
The National Museum of Natural History is an absolute treasure trove of wonder and learning. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by the awe-inspiring sight of the Hope Diamond, a symbol of the museum's immense collections. The exhibits are thoughtfully curated, offering captivating insights into Earth's history, diverse ecosystems, and the marvels of our planet's flora and fauna. The Hall of Fossils transported me through time, while the Butterfly Pavilion brought me up close to nature's delicate beauty. The interactive displays engaged visitors of all ages, making learning a joyful experience. With each step, I felt a deeper connection to the natural world and a renewed appreciation for its intricacies. The National Museum of Natural History is a true celebration of our planet's majesty and a must-visit for inquisitive minds.
Specially the Dinosaur fossils collections were awesome & mesmerizing. With kids don't miss this museum
Lots of activities, hands on experiences for kids, task-based and free-play available. Really enjoyed the visit and would be happy to come back. Worth the cost for a 1 time visit, or the annual pass cost to return and try all the activities. Happy to see free annual passes for veterans/active duty military.
Nice outing for the children. The employees were very pleasant. I like that you need to purchase your tickets ahead of time so the place doesn’t get over crowded.
I love bringing my daughter to this program. The summer’s are worth it and I can’t wait for the new one to open.
This place was awesome. They provide a bag once you walk in that has everything you need for the museum. I didn't pay attention and spent an extra $10. They provide coins and a voucher to receive a Crayola scribble animal. They had puzzle games on computers, a play area, crayon maker machines, crayon wrapping machines, a food court, a coloring station, and much more. It was definitely worth the price.
Our 3 year old and 1 year old LOVE this place. We invested in memberships a year ago and it was a no brainer to renew. Our kids will beg and cry to come here. It is clean and friendly and something for kids of a variety of ages. Also a great option when it's too hot or too cold outside.
I love Natural History Museums and this one is truly fantastic. It is just as great as the one I visited in New York City, and what makes it even better is that it is free, with the exception of the butterfly exhibit. They have so much to see that you can literally spend the entire day here. Kids would not only enjoy the butterflies but the live bug and interactive cell phone exhibits as well. The museum itself is well maintained and clean, and there really isn't too much of a wait time to enter once you get past security. Be sure to check out the nifty gift shop before you leave to pick up a souvenir or two. I definitely recommend anyone visiting the area to check this place out.
I truly enjoy Alley Pond Park because there is plenty of space and areas that one can become one with nature.

Alley Pond Park has baseball courts, a playground, a walking trail, picnic areas, a nature preserve, a golf course, and much more.

I recommend this park for anyone that is looking forward to relax and enjoy peace and tranquility.
The chance to walk through George Washington’s home was incredible! The house and grounds are meticulously cared for and staffed.

The mansion tour was informative, though rushed. I had so many questions and did not have the opportunity to ask.

The museum portion was informative and interactive. We enjoyed the movies that made the life and times of George Washington more real for my kids.

Throughout the grounds there were staff dressed in period apparel that were knowledgeable to answer questions.
Very fun and colorful place. As an adult I had a blast and enjoyed coloring with the kiddo. Lots of activities and photo ops. FYI you can get in free if you go within 7 days of your birthday. It was a few days after my birthday and the kiddos asked to go.
My son likes Crayola Experience but there’s more interesting interactive museums like the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History or the Do-seum in San Antonio. The best part of Crayola was the engineering involved in their exhibits and displays. They put a lot of thought into this. The downside is that most of the drawing stations were not very well-stocked with crayons, markers or pencils.
Once you’ve been to a couple of Natural History museums you’ve pretty much seen them all. This has the usual fossil and animal collections, but I’d say they’re very well organized and the exhibits seem designed with intent.

They have some really nice fossils although it’s hard to determine how many replicas they have instead of the real thing.

Their animal collection is also pretty good and the exhibits include plenty of useful information.

Definitely a good option if you have kids or you like nature. Safe to skip if you’ve been to more than one similar museums elsewhere.
10/10 recommend taking your kids here. I would suggest getting the 10$ fun pass added to one of your tickets. It saved us money. Also, if you're planning to do a wax hand, I would suggest stopping there in the beginning to get a time slot. We had about an hour and a half to wait for ours. Thankfully, there's so much to do that it didn't matter. We were there for around 5 hours and made a day of it. Our group had ages 1-10 and there was stuff for them all. Everyone had fun!
Visited the place recently and found it expanded its exhibits compares to 10 years ago. Added second floor exhibits and hands-on things dedicated to STEM probably more suitable for upper elementary students and up. Our rising 1st Grader spend almost 2 hours at this place. $20/Person for up to 3 hours session. Advanced online bookings ia HIGHLT recommended if you want to get in. We parked on streets near apartment complexes next to the museum. DO NOT go near the Aquarium as the traffics around the entrance of its parking deck is HORRIBLE!
Protected green areas in excellent condition, as well as parking and children's locations; They should improve the conditions of the restrooms.

We loved this. Yes it’s basically one big advertisement for their products, but as a teacher and mom who loves their products I don’t even care. Yes, there were several paid activities, but most of great activities are free. With your ticket you get two tokens and a card to exchange for a name your own crayon, model magic and a scribble scrubbie. You can also do lots of other included tasks like water color painting, make your own puzzles, spin art, making your own souvenir shaped crayons, and so much more. They have two playground, on for toddlers and one for kids up to 12. Overall we spent about 2.5 hours here and had we not wanted to leave for lunch my kids could have spent lots more time here. The gift shop also didn’t seem too outrageous. Didn’t get any food there but they seemed to have food/snack options throughout the experience. If you can avoid taking a stroller I would. Went on a Saturday and I was surprised to find it did not feel crowded at all and we did not have to wait more than a minute or two for any activity. The staff was all very friendly.
We visited on a Sunday to celebrate my Daughter’s Birthday . It was so fun we enjoyed the prices and the option to add a boost with our admission ticket. I recommend getting there very early due to the parking, and to avoid the crowds. It’s open to explore at your leisure. It’s great for adults to enjoy time with the kids and be a kid a little as well. The gift shop was wonderful as well!

We arrived after 2p as recommended on their website on a Friday and admissions was free. This is a great place to bring young kids of varying ages - lots of fun activities for them...and there are monitors/guides, places for adults/parents to watch, participate, take a rest at. There's a dining room, lockers, gift shop, rest rooms. Besides activities there is a gallery area and theater.
Wasn't expecting much when we made plans to go here but I was BEYOND pleasantly surprised!! As a teacher I got a free annual pass and even with a 7month old we had a blast!
There's way more to do than you'd expect. Definitely perfect for a rainy day or super hot day. We spent probably 5hrs or more here
This museum was awesome. I had a blast looking at all the illusions. The staff was awesome. They helped with taking some of the pictures. One thing to remember is that it's on the second floor. You can either take the stairs up or the elevator. If you like and enjoy this place and agree with me. Leave a thumbs up.
Always fun to take the kids there, it's their favorite place!! We live in Houston so we go all the way from Houston to Dallas for Crayola.
I really wish and hope that they open one in Houston. It's the fun place for kids and for parents as well. Do visit!!
My family and I absolutely love this place. From the parking garage to the snack area to the third level tier that has a water play area, it's just amazing fun for the little ones and even some older ones lol...the one thing I would change is add a restroom in the Cafe section rather than walking down into the hallway because I was thinking, if a kid throws up from eating after all that jumping, sliding, bouncing, skipping, and running...they and or their parents would have to hold their mouth and run them down the hall to a restroom where other parents and children are playing which can be quite hazardous. No one needs other babies getting sick from the sight of puke or the sound of puking. Other than this...we adore Port Discovery! Great place, awesome sightseeing nearby for downtown inner harbor and awesome food spots all over.
We loved it! 👏 Family of 4 (parents & 2 grownup children). Very interesting historic site! The guides were very knowledgeable and good to tell stories and the whole area and museum is amazing 🤩👍 We wish we had known about the ship and had time to take a tour on the river with that as well. Maybe next time 😊
Visually, this place looks like a lot of fun, and I'm sure it is for kids under 8 years old.

It's not bad, but it lacks WOW factors.

The Egyptian room was the coolest thing there. Unfortunately, some of the things are broken or don't work, like the boxes that you look through.

*kickball
*art / project room
*toddler area
*2 toddler play diners
*slide
*Water room
*Egyptian maze

My family and I were here pre-covid when they had the huge jungle gym. It was a great disappointment to see they rid that.

My 9 and 11 year old tried their best to have fun, but it seems to be geared towards kids under 8, with the slide being the only thing that older kids can really claim for themselves.
However, going up one side to realize you can't go down the slide on that side, not as fun, especially if you're afraid of heights and overcoming fears ( my daughter and I both ). We had to SQUEEZE through people on the way down the rope tunnel. It's not the most enjoyable experience.
Apparently there are signs on both sides of the slide area that tells you one side is to climb only and the other goes to the slide, even though both actually go to the slide, THEY decided to turn people away at the very top. Yes, someone sits at the top and tells you "sorry nope, you have to go back down and come up the other tunnel," even though both sides lead to the slide...
Also, staff tried yelling over all the noise to direct slide traffic, but who's listening with all the commotion going on? Plus, there really isn't good foot grip on the rope tunnels. It really hurt our toes. Foam steps would be better.
Bummer.

There's a huge lack of vegan food options there. Lots of junk food, but their self check out was convenient and fun for my kids to help with.

The water room smelled like wet clothes that sat in the washer, too long.

I do find it a bit expensive for parents to follow their kids around. There should be a discount to non-playing parents. I've been to many kids indoor play areas, and parents don't pay or they can pay to play and get a band when they do. No play, no band. Play, you get a band.

I think younger kids would have a blast. It just wasn't for my family, and my review is solely based on the age and amenities for my kids.
It is an amazing museum for kids who are eager to learn new things. This museum is a full day visit there is lots of knowledge to grasp and one can learn about a lot of things here. I had a limited time, but would love to visit this place again and spend enough time in each section by going through all the information one by one. I personally liked the fossil lab , where you could actually see individuals cleaning the Fossils, drawing images of fossils. It was a really amazing experience overall. I wish I had more time.
Wonderful experience in my opinion. I felt cheated for a toddler at Disney just hot and not a lot of options for toddlers. Not at Crayola total absolute opposite. Crayons are loved by most kids and no better place than for them to be themselves here. Age appropriate jungle gyms ,parking, snacks, different activities all around great and being in an AC place wonderful. The crayon labeling and making was a great way for my little one to have fun. I wasn’t able to see the shows they offered I was in by 10am out by 11am as it was a stop on my way out of Orlando but absolutely worth it. The bag comes with tokens and voucher for activities so there is plenty to do here.
I absolutely love the Hall of Science. I’ve been going there since I was a kid in primary school and I appreciate how much it’s changed over time. They always have fun new exhibits to try. There’s so much hands on learning for both kids and adults. I was just there a few weeks ago with my niece and was thoroughly impressed with the new section they have for toddlers. Lots of learning and lots of fun!

Artistic experience for all ages!! This space is definitely geared towards 3-9 age categories. However it's fun for all ages and well worth the price of admission. You can navigate your own experience based on what you'd like to do. I wish there was more education about the actual factory, crayons and how they are made. The entrance is off Pine street, you will exit at the main square.
A really great children’s museum with lots of fun activities for the kids. Lots of basic okay plus some science, engineering and arts.
Parking is in the garage across the street. Buy tickets in advance. You cannot buy tickets at the door.
A Stellar Experience at The New York Hall of Science!

Every now and then, you stumble upon a place that not only captivates your child's imagination, but yours too, and the New York Hall of Science is exactly that place. I'm delighted to award a full 5-star rating to this awe-inspiring institution - a treasure trove of knowledge and fun, skillfully interwoven.

From the moment we set foot in the building, we were met with a whirlwind of colors, sounds, and most importantly, excitement. This center for exploration and discovery is an ideal outing for children, combining the thrill of interactive play with the educational benefits of a museum, making learning science a captivating journey rather than just a subject in school.

What truly sets the New York Hall of Science apart is its ability to cater to children of all ages. The exhibits are thoughtfully designed to engage young minds, encouraging them to ask questions, hypothesize, and problem solve. They're not just observing science - they're doing it. The hands-on nature of the exhibits brought complex concepts to life, ensuring the kids learned while fully immersed in enjoyment.

I particularly want to highlight the staff who were exceptional in their commitment to creating a positive and instructive experience. Their patience and expertise were evident as they guided my children through different exhibits, answering their avalanche of questions with enthusiasm and kindness.

But it's not just about the exhibits - the New York Hall of Science goes above and beyond with their presentations and workshops. They are engaging, exciting, and more importantly, they make complex scientific concepts accessible to the younger audience. The Planetarium was a family favorite, leaving us all in awe of the cosmos.

Our visit to the New York Hall of Science was a day well spent - a day of endless discovery and wonderment that managed to entertain as much as it educated. It's a place where science comes alive for children and adults alike.

In a world where screens often rule, this gem provides a much-needed break, combining play with learning in the most wonderful way. If you're looking for a kid-friendly, educational, and engaging experience, look no further than the New York Hall of Science. We can't wait for our next visit!
Had a great time. Went with a friend, but it's a cute date spot and kiddos will love it. Not too big, so you won't feel overwhelmed, but enough to keep you there for a good two hours. Very cool exhibitions and neat stuff in the gift shop area on the way out. 100% recommended.
Fantastic place for kids and families! We absolutely loved it here! So many things to do and see. We loved that we could take pictures and turn it into our own coloring sheets. My son loved that there were stations with stamps for our maps so that he could collect them after visiting each station. 10/10 recommend visiting here for something new to do.

This is a place where once you visit you’d never go back ever again lol. It’s good that we went to check out tho.

🍎For teachers that plan on visiting, below the review is our itinerary for the day!

One of my favorite museums- architecturally beautiful & well thought out. Great for elementary field trips as it’s just the right size for the allocated time.
•Recommend getting there once they open with a class. As several schools are booked simultaneously, families that visit during the school year/weekdays may want to arrive later between 1-2pm after large groups leave (especially with little ones but can call ahead to see)
• 3 floors with interactive stations, demonstrations and displays
•Makerspace is a student (& teacher) favorite downstairs where they can build a pinball game, dowel structures, LEGO bridges & experiment with other loose parts
•Students prefer the playground and have also enjoyed the 3-D IMAX films which run about 40 min. (Nice to end the trip with the film before boarding buses as it kept the group together after eating lunch)
•Clean cafe with respectful and kind staff; water bottle refill stations
•Make sure to complete a group survey after & they offer 2 free tickets to visit again!

10:00 Arrive & Check-In; place labeled lunches in large group bin (students kept water bottles)
10:10-12:00 Explore (w/ a snack break)
12-12:25 lunch
12:30 IMax or Playground
1:15 Bathrooms/Board Buses
My three children loved going here! Place was really fun for them, many things to do and interact with. We spent about 3 hours here and the kids were still trying to stay and play. Three different levels of fun interactive things and play areas to do. My kids really liked the art center where you can take a class with one of the instructors or free draw. Only downside is that the tickets per child and adult are pretty pricey. I understand the children but even the parent prices are priced too high especially for us as parents not really doing anything but chaperoning our kids.
I like getting to check this out, and I know I'm an older person for this review, but to me this place had a lot of activities for kids. Although the kids I were with mainly cared that they got to run and scream inside a building while playing on the play thingy.
Kids love this place. There are a lot of activities for kids of all ages. It’s very family friendly with nursing booths, elevators and places to park strollers. I recommend you get the membership pass which pays for itself in just about two visits. Parking is expensive. Remember to validate or get a discount if you parked in the lot next door.
Best Children’s museum we have been to!!! This place is absolutely amazing for the whole family. My niece and nephew are 9 and 10 so I was unsure if they would be excited this time. They loved it!!!

There is so much to do and the best part is everything is hands on. The slide is huge! It is also very fast coming down. They loved the Royal farms area. To my surprise they spent a lot of time in the diner serving us.

The staff every where was great. From checking in to all throughout the museum. Every staff member seemed to throughly enjoy their job. It truly makes a difference for guests experience.

The bathrooms!! They were exceptionally clean. So much so the kids were talking about it. We were just so impressed with our entire experience.

In one area for toddlers there was a private bathroom in there as well as a nursing station. These small things make such a huge difference for parents.

We parked in the Harbor street parking garage. It’s $15 to park (when visiting the museum) and we prepaid before we went. When we pulled up to the garage it scanned my tag and there was nothing more to do. The garage is directly next to the museum which is so convenient. Port Discovery let’s you renter so we packed lunches, and also walked around the harbor.

There is a water play area that if you really let them play they will be soaked. We did bring a change of clothes just incase. They provide little rain coats but there is water everywhere. The kids were having a blast in there.

The art rooms were really nice. The mummy area as the kids called it was another favorite.

If you are looking for a great place to take your kids this is it. We drove an hour to come here and it was well worth it! It does get a little warm and stuffy as they day went on, so we were glad we all wore shorts and T-shirts. We will definitely be back!!!
A giant playground for kids as well as adults! I had an absolute blast taking my 3 year old niece here. There are so many cute exhibits for kids to interact with, such as a mock grocery store and diner, a pretend gas station, a mini water section with toy boats, an Egyptian tomb, a netted climber, and a conveyor belt with foam blocks. I'm glad to see the parents were just as polite as the children and workers. I highly recommend checking out this place! Everyone will have fun regardless of your age!
It was my first time attending the New York Auto Show with my bf. It was the best experience I ever had. Participated in several sweepstakes *hopefully I win.* My recommendation if you are on a date have brunch prior, the food court was expensive $9 for 1 Small Slice of pizza not the greatest.

My children had a great time at the Kids Play Gallery. The gallery is packed with a variety of activities that encourage children to be imaginative and creative. The staff were welcoming and friendly, creating a fun and nurturing atmosphere. There are numerous experiences available at the gallery that allow children to fully immerse themselves in imaginative play. My son particularly enjoyed the veterinarian hospital area because of his love for animals. The experiences are organized in an adorable and structured manner, and the gallery provides a safe and playful environment for children to interact with peers of their own age. I am grateful to the Kids Play Gallery for such a wonderful experience!
Kids Play Gallery in Gaithersburg, MD, is a popular destination for families with young children. The play area is designed to provide a safe, stimulating environment where kids can explore, play, and learn.

One of the things that stand out about Kids Play Gallery is the variety of activities available. There are several play areas, including a soft play zone for younger children, a climbing structure, a ball pit, and an obstacle course. The gallery also has a dress-up area, a pretend play section, and a mini-golf course, ensuring that kids of all ages can find something they enjoy.

The facility is clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The management also prioritizes the safety of children, with strict rules in place to ensure that kids are supervised and that everyone follows the rules.

Parents also appreciate the convenient location of Kids Play Gallery, which is easily accessible from major highways and has plenty of parking available.

Overall, Kids Play Gallery is a fun and engaging play space that offers a wide range of activities for kids. It's a great place for families to spend a few hours, especially during inclement weather or when looking for a break from outdoor activities.
We have been part of Alley Pond environmental center homeschool program for 3 years. We love this place, teachers are kind and knowledgeable, science curriculum is hands on and the best part is animals! My son always talks about snakes and rabbits that visit a classroom. This is a great resource for homeschooling families in NYC.

I came here many times, many years ago, and finally returned here on a Friday, which gives you free entrance. So amazing! Great experience, but many exhibits were closed.
Great place to go to learn and relax. Not too crowded, and the environment was peaceful and friendly. A few activities that looked interesting were closed when I was there.
The hands-on activities were great for children and adults. The design of the museum is spacious & there are a lot of hands-on experiences. Great for families and adults to bring their kids along for a day off while both are satisfied.

In the cafeteria, food and drinks are nothing special. Rated B for sanitation, be aware.

Parking is $12 in the lot. But you can find street parking for free!

It’s a Monday and this pace is a zoo. I asked what maximum capacity is and they had no idea. They admitted there were way too many people in here and they kept allowing more and more people to come. They clearly need to regulate how many people they allow at one time as it’s dangerous.

This place is honestly adorable. I absolutely love the idea of an indoor little play village for children. My toddler has a wonderful time each visit and never wants to leave when it’s time to go. Friendly staff, clean environment and fair price for what’s offered. Very clean as advertised. While playing, children 2yr and older need very little supervision. It’s a win win situation all around.
I was really disappointed with the way spokes person they chose to speak to children. He didn't speak with patience. Plus spoke a hour in a half walked them outside to show them things they see everything. To me this trip was a waist of money & time. He spoke about mom's milk , wine telling the kids they only have 1 chance to touch the animals because they are his. I will love a refund for my $27. He pretty much got paid to tell the kids what they learned in school already and to speak like they aren't 1st graders. But everyone experience is different. A room full of animals.
Pretty cool place, a bit on the pricey side for the extent of the experience. I truly thought for almost $30/person 3+ and it wouldn’t be a nearly all day activity. If the playground wasn’t there, you could complete it in an hour. The kids still had fun, but not sure that it would be worth going back to.
We had a wonderful experience at Mount Vernon. First, give yourself plenty of time. You can easily spend an entire day here, but you can also see the highlights in three hours. The house and grounds are beautiful but note the preservation is an ongoing process. The day we were there the façade on the main house was completely being reworked. The education center is relatively new and very well done. Allow at least an hour to explore the many interactive exhibits.
AMAZING! That's all you really need to know about going here. They have everything you could ever imagine in Natural History in one place. Elephants, skeletons, dinosaurs, sparkling gems, animals from the depths of the oceans, historical artifacts, ice age humans and so much more! They also have an awesome store as well! Just go you won't be disappointed I promise!
AEPC is a hidden gem for Northeastern Queens. Especially, families with young kids please come and enroll in their fantastic enriching classes. Story time for toddlers, science pods, nature hikes you name it!
We celebrated our daughter’s 2nd birthday at Kids Play Gallery and all the kids had such a fun time! Rowena and her staff were excellent and made the planning process so easy. There’s so many toys and activities to keep kids engaged, learning, and having fun. The staff is constantly cleaning and sanitizing the toys and play areas, so cleanliness is definitely not an issue here. We’ve been coming to KPG with our daughter since before she could even walk. It’s the perfect place for her to go and expend some of that endless energy, and it makes putting her down for her afternoon nap MUCH easier (hint hint to parents out there!). Needless to say, we will keep coming back here for many years to come!

This place is nice. The different stations have role play that kids see every day, like a fire station, gas station/ mechanic shop and the fast food rest.
Parents can also participate as well as relax on the benches provided while still keeping kids within eyesight.

My kid enjoyed the boat and fishing station as well as the police car.

Adding a few more interactive toys to the stations would make it perfect.
The prospect park alliance had a Autism play day today and I was told that they host one once a month. They gave families free entrance to the Lefferts Historic House and taught children how families lived in Brooklyn back in the 1730’s. We washed clothes in the same manner they did back then. They had stilt walking which helps dig the soil. They had make your own soap. Me and my daughter made a orange oatmeal scented soap. The historic house has a three dollar admission but this event was free and they do have a tip box to help the program run. There is a bathroom in the house. We were there earlier than the food kiosk located next to the carousel so there wasn’t any food options available until around 12pm. I ordered me and my daughter Uber eats to the park. The historic house is located in the children’s corner where they have the carousel, boat house and prospect park zoo. I had a good time!!
Great historic house.......made in 1871....
You need to come and see it....
It was good loved it however u must not go on the Douglass whatever his name is trail by accident and think that it's part of the APEC since it's not. It will take you on a 1.3 mile long adventure that you need to be aware you are on before you realize you can't get out. Ok.
Its a great place to remember New York as it once was. The place features a working garden, historic artifacts, period rooms and exhibits. Visitors are encouraged to play with traditional tools, toys and games, and engage in historic activities such as candle making, sewing and butter churning. Its great for children to experience being in this house and also to learn the history behind this place.
An interesting historical place. Here you can see how Americans lived a long time ago.
The exhibits could use some work. They don't really convey what life was like.
Fun and informative interactive museum with many quality artifacts. Staff is super friendly and there's alot to see!

A well preserved piece of Brooklyn history. The artifacts inside the house offer a glimpse of life at the Lefferts household in the 1800s and describe what the surrounding neighborhood of Flatbush (and Brooklyn itself) was like in those days. The house is small and a visit should last no more than an hour. Admission is free but donations are welcome.

They offer guided tours of the second floor of the house. Our guide was a disinterested and ill-prepared high school student who mostly read from a piece of paper as he went about his task. They can really do better finding young people with a passion and enthusiasm for history and training them properly to lead these tours.
