I’m 5 months postpartum and recently really starting to feel the effects of carrying/lifting/feeding an almost 18 lb little human. Elmer took the time to understand my aches and pains. Did you know there is a special prone breast pillow for lactating mothers? Best thing ever. Also appreciate a masseuse who does not talk too much so you can just relax and focus on your breaths. Make an appt with him if you prefer/can handle deep pressure massage. I definitely felt much better after just one 1hr session.
Massage, atmosphere was great! But get ready for an overpriced massage, then expect to get hassled for 20% tip on top of it. Too bad the owner got greedy cause I won’t be back. What a sour taste

Elmer was a great therapist. We started with a stretch session followed by a massage. He catered to my tight muscles during the stretch and really worked out the soreness in my neck and shoulders. He was friendly and also gave some good tips on stretches and other activities to do at home to keep the muscles lose. Would come back to see him again!
I've visited Steamwork on multiple occasions, hoping for an exciting experience, but unfortunately, my visits left much to be desired. It seems like the place struggles to attract customers unless it's a special market day or a big event. Even on weekends, the atmosphere is surprisingly slow-paced.
One of the main downsides is the cost. Paying $36 for entry, a membership, and an ID card sets high expectations. Regrettably, I consistently found fewer than 10 people inside. This makes the value for money quite poor.
Perhaps Steamwork could benefit from reevaluating its pricing strategy and working on strategies to draw in more customers during regular days. Until then, I can't help but feel that the experience falls short of expectations.

My friend gifted me a massage and sent over the gift card number and e-mail of purchase since her home massage site had told her that was enough. I came in and was so excited to use it but Michelle immediately told me that I could not keep my appointment because I did not have the physical gift card I had my friend on the phone and showed Michelle her the purchase of gift e-mail with my name and gift card number. At which she said she would not do it, my friend asked her if she was serious at which she said I’m so serious and that I could not get my massage even with proof of purchase e-mail that had my name and gift card number. I honestly was embarrassed and to tired to argue even more since Michelle was rude and made the experience so uncomfortable. My friend requested corporate number. I’m so disappointed I wanted some time to relax and enjoy my friends present but walked out frustrated and angry. I will def never come back to this location the experience was awful.
Mary is great! I highly recommend her. My complaint is scheduling is hard and always not available. I can’t get the person and time I want and I am sitting on high credits that can’t be used. Not worthy to keep the membership!
An amazing and relaxing time. Jane's shoulder massage was the therapy session I didn't know I needed. I left feeling so refreshed, cleansed, and understood.
This is a wonderful location with absolutely top notch massage therapists. Kelly especially goes above and beyond. I always leave feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.

Jae is an awesome massage therapist. Both in deep tissue and on pure relaxation. He spends time in Japan and may have learned some of his skills there. He has a very pleasant and joyful personality. I feel lucky to have found him and to have a membership at Irvine Sand Canyon Massage Envy. I signed up in Arizona originally.
I usually see Minoo (she’s wonderful!) for microdermabrasion but she wasn’t available so I went with Kathy. Unfortunately, my experience was underwhelming. She seemed inexperienced, spent a large part of our appointment time battling the machine not being able to properly work it or attach the correct parts. The wand itself was not softly gliding on my skin which made it painful and seemed pointless. She didn’t do any extractions despite me stating my clogged pores my main concern. The treatment was rushed and over before my appointment time had even ended. I also had a very difficult time understanding what was being said as she had limited English. She didn’t once communicate what was being done unlike Minoo who is so thorough in everything she does. My skin doesn’t look or feel much different, disappointed with my visit.
Labor Day luxury. The spa at the peninsula was amazing. Only not easy the second bed in the waiting room was broken and did not work. I did the full day lux retreat. Very awesome experience. 👌
I’ve been coming to this location for quite sometime. LaToya is the absolute best! She’s attentive and gentle. She talks through the process to make you feel comfortable. 10/10 recommend going to LaToya especially if it’s your first time!
Absolutely amazing. I’ve had facials before at other places but this was hands down the most relaxing and soothing facial I’ve ever experienced. Layla was amazing she left my skin glowing and it was so calming before my bachelorette weekend. I will be coming back again and again to this location!
Lori is fantastic. Always friendly, always fast, always has your best interest in mind whether she recommends certain products or additional service. I look forward to coming every month to see her. I’ve hesitated to give a public review because I don’t need everyone else booking with her too (selfish I know) but she’s that good and everyone should know.
I have been going to European wax centers for awhile and always have a good experience but Jodi was the by far the best waxer I have ever had. I didn't know a Brazilian could be that painless. Already recommended her to all my friends
Love the staff at the Chicago-Streeterville location! The customer service is great and the facility is always really clean. Special shout out to my wax specialist Maya! First booked with her because she was available for the time slot I needed. So glad I did because she is amazing! She has great customer service, she is very polite, gentle, professional, and most importantly she remembers our conversations which makes me feel valued as a customer. Thanks again Maya!
Lots of great massage therapists at this location! Both Belen and Emily were very professional and are masters of their art. I would highly recommend either of them. The team members working the front counter are helpful and friendly. I will definitely be back
My daughter and I see Lori at EWC. We’ve never been disappointed with our eyebrows. Always loved the work. Lori even convinced me to try the eyebrow tint and was pleasantly surprised how good it came out and get it done at every visit. Highly recommend Lori!!

Fantastic experience here at the wellness spa! From beginning to end, we had the most pleasant time. We were staying at the Westin and it was easy to get to on floor one. Christine at the front desk was so friendly and explained everything to us since it was our first time having a spa treatment. The locker room is super clean and spacious. There are available slippers and robes. My masseuse wore her mask which was actually perfect for my comfort level. We had a relaxation massage and a togetherness relaxation massage. All three of us loved it! They bring you a cup of water and lead you to the relaxation area where you can choose from a selection of teas. Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!
I was able to get a fairly last minute 90 minute massage with The Peninsula Spa this past weekend. The facilities are spacious and the views are amazing. Neel was my therapist and she went over and above to make sure that I had a fantastic experience! I would absolutely recommend this spa!!
Visited Chicago steam works last month for Cumunion. Had a blast, literally every hour more and more guys came from all over the USA. Clean facilities, lots of private places to connect. Staff were great and always cleaning/sanitizing. Met awesome people and had a great time. If your in Chicago this is a must!!
I’ve had several great treatments at both a Irvine and Lake Forest locations, particularly stretching with Christopher and Massage with Jonathan. Will update with the name of the person who gives me my facials as they have also been great.
I fully understand that the staff at steamworks frequently deal with aggressive, intoxicated, and difficult customers. I’m sure it is draining and they must maintain a zero tolerance for that sort of behavior.
However, the last two nights I have been there, one security guard in particular has been exceptionally aggressive, impatient, and condescending to people in line, even making homophobic comments. These were men who were completely sober, alone, quiet, standing still, etc. Full on shaming people in front of everyone if they couldn’t get there ID card out fast enough, forgot to take something out of their back pocket, insulting comments on dress, as well as name calling if someone wasn’t moving fast enough or misunderstood a direction/request. Publicly humiliating lots of guys who were just confused or hadn’t ever been there before who may have read the rules, but didn’t know the process. I was shocked at how consistently aggressive and threatening this guard was, especially in comparison to how polite the rest of the staff was.
Again, I completely understand that they deal with a constant barrage of difficult customers. I’m sure if I was in that line of work I would have little patience for those patrons breaking rules. However, even the treatment to polite, quiet, sober customers in line was insulting and threatening. Quite honestly there seemed to clearly be some level of revelry in having the power to be able to talk down to or boss around those patrons in line. (Security guard specifically: older 40s-50’s, buzzed head/bald) Regardless of your business model, it should never be appropriate to name call, threaten, or publicly humiliate.
Please Maintain your safety standards and policies for sure, we all want foster a safe environment. But there needs to be a change in your treatment of patrons, especially from this security guard particularly. The most egregious examples of poor treatment/homophobic comments happened when no other staff was around to witness. Something tells me that is intentional on his part…

The primary highlights are their cleanliness and their diverse range of patrons. On market days, I arrived around 7 pm, and the wait was about 15 minutes. However, by the time I left at 10 pm, the line had grown to around two hours, even though the interior wasn't crowded.
Excellent experience for self-care while on a family vacation. Layla provided a great facial, providing me with skin care tips and great restaurant and sight-seeing recommendations in Portland.
I love love this location! Everyone is respectful and genuinely kind! Mia at the front desk is so helpful and she greets me every time I walk in. I usually go to Lori but with her being booked up, I went to Shanira who was amazing! She gave great conversation, made me feel comfortable and was fast!

Maya was amazing! She accommodated me and made me feel comfortable. I am currently 20 weeks pregnant and she made sure I was comfortable at all times and she was very courteous.
My first experience with waxing, and all of the employees made me feel welcomed and comfortable! Walked me through every-step, never made me feel pressured to purchase any extra products (even though I did) because Carli recommended them to me. Carli also was awesome! Made sure I was taking deep breaths in, and made sure I was comfortable with the rest of the process! To say the least, I walked out making sure I was scheduled for my next appointment!
I will have come back and update this to add the technician’s name, but it was the best wax I’ve ever had. Not painful in the least! Took her time and did it right. She did a fabulous job. 10 stars! ✨ ⭐️
I had Christopher for a 60 min stretch because I have really bad flexibility and tightness when it comes to my lower half, hip flexors included. Lots of cramps in my quads and hamstrings when doing certain physical activities (surfing, snowboarding, and sometimes just running) and he was super receptive as I told him my problems. It was great, very challenging, and definitely pushed my limits if not passed them, but it was well worth it because I swear my entire lower half felt lighter after the session. I don’t really ever write reviews but he definitely knew what he was doing and most certainly helped relieve some ongoing tension and pain I had. 10/10.
I haven’t been to European waxing in a long time, I still had some wax passes left so I decided to use one. Dionne was excellent. She was efficient fast and did a great job. The only reason why I gave a 4 star rating instead of 5 is the price increase. I have been a customer for about 10 years and the price increase in the last 3 years has been way too much. Don’t think I’ll be renewing any wax passes as the prices don’t see reasonable anymore.

Carli is my go to girl! She makes every appointment go by quickly & as pain free as possible because of how she incorporates breathing into each pull. Leaving me without a hair insight every time. She’s thorough and kind. The receptionists are great at communicating as well! All around the best wax center I’ve been to.

Let me start by saying that I am an X pat who does not live in the USA any more so my last visit was around 2019 or might have been earlier. As someone who has an extensive baths experience let me say that from the point of view of "types" this is the best one I have ever been to and that includes the pre Aides golden era, if you like closet cases who love glory h*** service and fringe type who enjoy oral servitude that place is your home. If you are someone who usually is not lucky or has the required look to land a good man here you will always find someone who will stick it through no matter what you look like. This place did OK business in the 90s till they installed a variety of G Hole units "troughs" where groups can stand and worship and on a higher level the tops could stand too with just a narrow board hiding the midriff section of the tops separating them- when this was added they experienced crowds in those rooms that rivaled them legendary early years. I have not been there in a very long time so this is from a few years back. A size queens nirvana.
There are spa experience luxury treats that you want on vacation or your birthday, and there are massage parlors you need local and frequent. Majestic is the latter. They have easy and open bookings almost on the spot that I can reserve before my work day ends and head there after. Their staff are friendly and quiet, their facility is clean, but basic. As always with these type of places, bring that cash for tips. They will be looking for it. Still for me, the quality of masaage is worth the good prices and multiple menu options.

Have been coming here for years, and can't imagine going to another waxing place. Sofia is amazing; it's always a great experience - not only is her waxing process smooth and she explains everything, but her personable approach is great if you're a newer client. Highly recommend, and definitely try to ask for Sofia! But... I've gone to other waxers here too, and honestly they're all really great!

Love this location. I have one less than 5 minutes away but I will travel to this one every time. The women at the front desk are always welcoming and nice. I always see Aeja for my waxes. Joanna was awesome! I’ve gotten waxed here a bunch of times and I still get pretty anxious because it always hurts (I have a low pain tolerance), but Joanna made me feel at ease the whole time with light conversation. :)
I was really excited to book a spa retreat at the Peninsula on a staycation but when I tried to book I was left on hold for over 30 minutes, ended up hanging up and calling the front desk of the hotel where the receptionist was very nice and said she would stay on hold with me until the spa picked up, this time the picked up quickly. Once I was transferred to someone in the spa, I told them what I was looking to book a massage and facial and gave them a specific day which they said had no openings, then I asked for another day and same thing, I gave them the same thing for almost every day over a two week span and they left me in a complete guessing game without ever suggesting any alternative times. It left me confused and wondering if they were even interested in my business, I eventually gave up and said ok, I will call a different spa and they said ok, hung up and I called the Waldorf where they were very accommodating and easy to book.
Zauria was very professional, clean and pay attention to details. It was my first time but she made me feel very comfortable. Trust her she knows what she's doing. I had an awesome experience, I will be going back to see her.

My first wax at the Elston location, and Rachel was fan-freaking-tastic. So friendly and kind. She went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable. She did a wonderful job, and I actually enjoyed getting waxed because the conversation was so funny! I'm definitely going to be booking with Rachel again!
I was having a rough week and decided to go to a massage place. I heard about this spa and was interested to go and it did help me relief my stress and anxiety.The workers there was nice and kind. After the massage I felt like my day was great and relaxing and I really enjoyed my whole 1 hour of the massage. I recommend this massage/spa place to everyone no matter if you are feeling down, happy, having body pain, etc.
My massage was OK. I asked the lady to be gentle because of an ankle injury but She ignored my request. The second problem was that the receptionist demanded a large tip (on top of the already overpriced massage and a tip amount that I considered appropriate). What a rip-off!!! With the overpriced service, the owner should pay livable wages. Don’t depend on the customer tips

My husband and I went here for spa treatments while on our honeymoon. Omg, it was so awesome. The owner is so sweet and hilarious! We had the 30 min hydropod and massage and a couple facial. We both wished I had booked the hour long one because the massage was sooooo awesome and the hydropod felt so good too. My face was so glowey and and bright after the facial. If I lived in Portland I would definitely be back!

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a couples body treatment at this spa, and it was absolutely amazing! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was relaxing and inviting. The staff were friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome and at ease. The treatment itself was an indulgent and rejuvenating experience. The therapists were highly skilled and professional, providing a range of techniques that left us feeling deeply relaxed and refreshed. The use of high-quality, natural products added to the overall sensory experience and left our skin feeling soft and smooth. We even got to take home our exfoliating body brushes! What really stood out to me was the attention to detail and personalized approach of the spa. The spa manager had contacted me to let me know the couples massage we had originally booked would not be available but alternatively we could do an upgraded body treatment for the same price. She took the time to understand our specific needs and preferences to ensure we were satisfied.
Overall, I would highly recommend Artne to anyone looking for a luxurious and relaxing spa experience. We can't wait to come back and enjoy another treatment soon!

Definitely come to European wax center! It’s clean and everyone is nice. For your eyebrows, I can only speak for Carli, since she was the first person I was introduced to, and I would not go to anyone else!! Not only were my eyebrows beautiful afterward, but the whole exchange was so pleasant. She really makes the trip worth it and I look forward to seeing her at my future appointments!

Lorena aka Lori was absolutely amazing! I have been going to her since September and every time she does a great job. I know a lot of women are afraid of the Brazilian waxing but she does it in a way that is painless and very quick. I’m always in and out within 15 probably less. She’s very attentive and especially when it comes to the eyebrow waxing she is phenomenal and there is no redness or irritating feeling. She takes her time with you and makes sure you are always comfortable. She’s the best ladies! Book that appointment! This location in Lincoln Park is great too!

The staff at front was extremely rude and disrespected me and my friend. Then claimed to be uncomfortable and refused us entry because we were to straight acting and appearing. Didn’t even have an actual legitimate excuse. I contacted management but no response…. This place is bias and discriminatory and I would not recommend for the more masculine black crowd especially…. We feel discriminated against and it was my friends first time…. I wouldn’t recommend for anyone. People have died in there from drugs be we made them uncomfortable. Make that sense. I’ve already told everyone I know not to patron there. This is unacceptable and very demeaning to non flamboyant gays. I have looked into actions I can take and I will be taking them. Horrible place horrible service
The time before we started our massages was rough. My daughter and I were each scheduled at 11 for a massage and my mom was scheduled at 10:45. My mom was taken in and then a masseuse came for my daughter. She said that she was going to do her 10:45 facial. The room was set for a facial. My daughter explained she was having a massage at 11. The masseuse said her appointment was for a facial so my daughter went to the front desk to figure out what was going on. Her masseuse berated her for going to the front desk and said she was making her late. Turns out the masseuse was completely wrong but that attitude really effected my daughter’s start to her procedure as well as my own. She was not offered a choice of aromas or the hot towel You go for a massage to relax but the start was far from relaxing. Her name was Pam and she should be instructed on how to deal with patrons. If she can’t change her demeanor she probably should not be in this business. On the other hand, my massage with Veronica was wonderful. She was friendly and did a great job. She inquired how I was doing the whole time. At the start ache asked if there was anywhere I wanted her to concentrate on or if there if was any place that she should avoid. She was helpful picking the aroma and the warm towel under the neck was fantastic.
I just had my VERY first “spa” experience at the advice / urging of my cousin who swears by Soakology. I had the Athlete’s Dream Spa package (I think) with foot soak and foot massage with head, neck and shoulder massage. My therapist was JANE - who could not have been better at making me feel comfortable and she had such a calming presence and was great at making sure everything was comfortable and let me know everything she was doing. I am truly a convert. Worth every penny!

Scheduled an appointment for waxing and was met by a rude and informal technician, she applied burning wax to my skin, not asking once if I was comfortable or the temperature was bearable, she waxed several leg areas twice, leaving others unwaxed, these unwaxed areas she attended with wax and cloth strips she had already used; in the middle of my full leg wax she removed her gloves and threw them at me, changing gloves for what I imagine would be the remaining 3/4 of my full leg wax. At this point I Immediately rose from the table and left. Expected five star technique and service, fully disappointed. Took my business to Tricoci, which I fully recommend following my next-day full brazilian, full leg and underarm appointments.
Grateful for this amazing gem of a spot! Professional, warm, and kind staff team. Sending so many kudos to the Soakology team. I love getting foot soaks at Soakology. There are also add-ons such as massages and scrubs, plus a beverage & snack menu. Good spot to check out, whether you're going solo, with a friend, or with a group. From what I've heard quiet chatting is allowed in the spa room. Curtains section off the soaking areas so you'll have privacy when you're there. Zen music and twinkly lights elevate the already calming atmosphere.

Got a deep tissue 90 min massage after a stressful work week. The masseuse focused on my tension areas and was courteous. I walked out relieved and with all soreness gone away. Would go back again for a deep tissue massage.
Relaxing atmosphere. I love that it's women-owned and operated. The coconut dream bars are great. Staff is a little bit forgetful/slow but friendly. Had a great afternoon tea here.
The tea, rosemary shortbread, and russian tea cakes are phenomenal. I brought my parents back for soak packages and it was phenomenal. The lighting, the music, the soaking basins, the smells- it was all wonderful. I was incredibly impressed by my back and neck massage from Zoe, and my father gushed about his massage from Jane. It was expensive, worth every penny, and I'd absolutely return.
I was so pleasantly surprised by Soakology. A friend brought me as a surprise and from the moment I walked in I knew I found a new favorite place. The team was super attentive, the teas were delicious and the reflexology during the soak was incredible. Thank you for being in our area and I will certainly be back!
Zero Hospitality we got kicked out from that place cause we drink a bit in boystown,to be honest who doesn’t drink on the weekends maybe because we are asian ….that’s my second thought!!! …only because my friend responded late when they called him,the host judge us already…no thanks! Treat us fair!!
Michaela is amazing. Her knowledge, skill and genuine approach to massage is fabulous. I planned a day there to include waxing, massage and hydropod services. I recently am divorced and it was a 3 year battle-- I am not exaggerating when I say that I got the BEST sleep that night in 3 years. I can't wait to go back- I drive 1hr and 45 minutes from MA to see her-- it's not like I haven't tried local- it is just she is the best!
Unfortunately never got a chance to go there...left a voice message, Jan, and twice in Feb. Couldn't book online, send finally texted the number, got a text back with an apologie, and asking what service I wanted. Texted back immediately with absolutely no response. Was trying to hook for April, and ended up booking at nine stones spa where they answer their phone. Have been in the spa industry for over 20 yrs, and even though I am booked out months in advance I always return calls. DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!
Was there yesterday. Lawrence was at the front desk. Very polite and courteous. Couldn't have been nicer. Excellent employee. Place is always super clean. Sometimes crowded. Sometimes not. Depending what part of the day you get there. Overall great experience.
Had a great couples massage for my birthday here. Nice, quiet & clean spa - our massage therapists Courtney & Kaitlyn did a great job. I will be back to get massages here.

The entire spa is clean, updated & filled with very friendly staff members. The rooms are spacious, warm & give very cozy vibes.
I have a couple of allergies that are found in common skin products & all of the staff members were super accommodating & generous in finding products that I could use.
My massage therapist was Katelin & I could not recommend her enough! Will be back :)

I wish I could give a better review but 60 minutes into my 90 minute massage I was told she couldn’t increase pressure as she was “tapped out”. This was after going “light” up until then. Music also stopped 60 minutes in and wasn’t turned back on. My appointment was at 6:45pm on a Friday so perhaps she was tapped out for the day. Disappointed considering I expected more for a $300+ massage.
I had the best experience yesterday at Soakology with Mindy. I'm a nurse so I'm constantly on my feet and stressed at work so I made a reservation to treat myself. I came in for a soak and 40 min massage split between head/neck and feet/lower legs. Wow, I had the best time! From the moment I came in through the door I was calmed by the atmosphere and greeted with warmth from the staff. Everything from the tea to the soak to the decor was perfection. My special thanks goes to Mindy who did a fabulous job on my massage and made me feel like a new person. I felt like I was floating on air by the end.
Wonderful! Elegant. They even have a swim suit dryer! The products are amazing and smell good too! You can access outside at the pool too!!!
If I could give more stars I would. Michaela is amazing and so friendly. The atmosphere, service, results all exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be going back and I HIGHLY recommend you go too!

Completed my husband and I birthday week with a body scrub and Hydro Pod. Owner was super nice and explained everything. This is something everyone should try. ... so relaxing and if you enjoy heat.....amazing! Definitely will be back for other services.

Online booking is easy for me. Whenever I need a good deep tissue massage, I’ll come to this place. It has always been a relaxing and refreshing experience for me. After playing 3 plus hours of volleyball, the Deep Tissue massage help me with muscle sores and tension.
After my first massage with Michaela, I bought 4 more. It was the best massage I have ever had, and now I am hesitant to go elsewhere. Joe is just as talented, you leave feeling rejuvenated no matter who works on you. I fully recommend anyone give them a shot, you will not be sorry.
Michaela and Joe have made me feel so comfortable ever since the first time I walked in. That atmosphere is relaxing, and Michaela knows exactly when to ask a distracting question during a wax. The lively conversation makes the time go by so quickly. I got a targeted massage from Joe and it was everything I needed, working all of my sore muscles to get the knots out. I will forever send everyone I know here.
Michaela is an incredible person with a kind heart and a beautiful personality! She makes the spa experience so personal and soothing and immediately befriends you as soon as you walk in the door. The salon is small and private, and the prices also match. Why pay more in other overly priced Old Port spa salons when you can get a more personalized experience for a bit less at Daydream Bodyworks?
