Fantastic Japanese restaurant in the heart of Southbank Brisbane. We had lunch here. Everything was very tasty. We ordered the sushi sashimi and maki roll platter and the eel and rice dish.
Bought sushi rolls from here today. Lady was friendly but sushi rolls weren’t great. Probably old seaweed or too dry as I struggled to actually bite into them trying to avoid the rolls from falling apart. I can’t stand that!! Plus the avocado still had some of its skin left on!! Terrible! At least this is one place I can’t scratch off that won’t get added to my favourites
I never do reviews but I just had to. This restaurant was the absolute worst. We went here as our preferred choice was fully booked and in all honesty we should’ve left from the poor service received at entrance (we thought maybe the food was worth it, thus the confident rudeness).
But boy were we wrong! The drinks were awesome but every single meal we had was disappointing. The worst was the soggy Chicken Katsudon, followed by the honey chicken that was literally just the batter.. We offered an opportunity for service recovery by asking questions and stating displease with the Katsudon, to which the waiter cringed and the manager was just screaming how the food was made. This made us very uncomfortable. As we barely ate, we literally paid our bill and left(SO NOT WORTH IT!!!). The mash potatoes were the only ok thing, along with with the drinks.
We do not recommend!

The star rating had me a little worried.
Once we arrived we were seated quickly.
We ordered 2x Terriyaki Chicken and rice, Tempura Udon and a Tempura Prawn roll.
My child wasn't impressed with their Terriyaki chicken, and they love their Terriyaki. I didn't snag a taste so I can't comment.
My other child liked their Prawn roll - I managed to have a piece and I have no complaints either, was delicious.
When having Japanese - my usual go to is udon. I love udons. I have no complaints about this one, it tastes normal. Not mind blowing but it wasn't bad either.
I will say the price point was a bit more than I would have liked to spend, but I guess in this current climate we cant expect things to be cheaper anymore.
Over all I'd say it was a good experience - food was okay.

Whilst there is a full blown restaurant here, on today's visit I sampled a Bento Box for a late lunch. Their service is swift and efficient and certainly no fuss.
Lunch value is good and there are a lot of options. Tasty and quick. You can also get take away. There are steam buns also
There are plenty of long tables to cater for large groups.
Plenty of seating inside and out.
Staff are friendly though it may be difficult to get their attention. They will allow split bills.

Food is reasonably priced considering its south bank. Bento box is larger then most places. It's rare to find a place that sells eel, I haven't had eel since I was a kid so I jumped on this and it was so good, Better then a fatty pork belly. Well presented. Nice place with the family.
Tldr: For the price it's not worth it but the drinks aren't too bad.
I hate to write a negative review but it was just bad for how much we spent. Almost 90 bucks for food that was at the quality level of low tier food court.
I don't know if it was because they basically running on a skeleton crew. 3 staff members that I could see on a Friday night. 1 Chef, 1 front of house and a 1 more guy in the kitchen who also ran dishes out.
The food, was below average. It reminded me of cheap meals pushed out at a food court that's been sitting for a little bit.
The tempura veggies weren't completely crispy. They came out a bit soft. The dipping sauce that goes with it wasn't all to great either. It was lacking in flavour and seasoning.
The pork egg rice bowl dish I had. The pork was rubbery and thin. Not worth it at all for the price.
The beef and tempura veggie sushi roll was probably my favourite thing there but it's not hard when the other dishes I ate was bad. It actually had some texture, good balance of seasoning and taste though it could be better.
My friend had the Honey Chicken and that didn't have enough seasoning or sauce over it as well.
The place lacked flavour, seasoning and staff.
Definitely don't waste your time, money or calories on this place unless it's drinks the drinks weren't bad and quite nice so maybe come for the drinks instead! I had the mojito and my friend had some blue drink that I can't remember the name of.
