My very first visit was to drop off my paintings for the FLIP THE SCRIPT art exhibit for 150+ artists, and I'm very grateful to be a part of this historical event. It's an honor!
Staff were fantastic! Exhibition was great! Has a two different ways to get kids involved. 5 and 7year old loved it!

Fort Calgary is a historical gem that's basically a time machine in disguise! I explored its nooks and crannies, feeling like a time-traveling adventurer. The exhibits were like history's pop-up book, and the guides were walking encyclopedias in period costumes. It's where the past meets playfulness – 10/10, would time-travel again!
Beautiful winter wonderland. Lots of birds - chickadees, nuthatches, eagles, ducks. Owl prints in the snow?

We had our wedding there on Oct.28 of this year and couldn't be happier. An amazing venue and the staff were beyond helpful. Marie at Fort Calgary did such an amazing job, she was awesome :)
Great place to take youth to gain an understanding of everything the police do. Very good display regarding street drugs and gangs. The Cybercrime room was under construction. Valuable insight for youth to help them make safe decisions.

Fort Calgary is a wonderful place to host your next event. I’ve hosted two events at the Fort and the experience has been amazing. Lona and the rest of the team are wonderful folks to work with and go above any beyond to support our events. We’ve enjoyed the catering available for breakfast and lunch, their IT system is easy to use, and the venue space is beautiful. I would absolutely recommend hosting your next event at the Fort.
I came across this place randomly through a friend’s post online. Wow! How much fun it was! I took my 2 little kids and I think I had more fun than they did! So many things to interact with! Don’t forget to look up!

Inglewood bird sanctuary is a favourite place of mine. I go to photograph the wildlife and scenery and get some quiet time in nature that's safe and accessible.
Very cool space. Can't believe that I have never been before.
We visited this museum today with my three-year-old son. He was delighted to be able to sit in a police car on a police motorcycle and learn a lot about the police.
I was particularly impressed with the police officers who were present at the museum. They were very polite and pleasant.
I definitely recommend visiting this location.
Michael was very informative in his presentation. He also was very patient with the seniors in the group addressing our questions in ways we could understand easily. Very impressive young man and all the staff were so helpful!

Visited for the third time in three years this weekend. Not a lot changes, but its nice to see history being preserved.
Great place to spend some time in a chilly day. Can in on remembrance day. My Father in Law is retired military so they let us all in for free which I thought was really nice.

The staff here are all so nice and happy to help.

The exhibit itself is really well thought out and the vehicles are all beautiful. If you’re a car buff or a historian it’s a great place to visit.
Definitely the most beautiful park in Calgary! I was stunned with the lush greenery and golden hues of the early autumn. I’ve been here only month but that’s my 5th stroll here. I love the little squirrels here there are plenty of them everywhere.
I found out about this museum when I was looking for free activities to take my 5 year old to. The whole family had a great time and learned a lot here. There's lots of interesting hands-on exhibits and videos. The bingo game was fun for the kiddo. Although we came on a Saturday, there were only a few other guests. We pretty much got a guided tour from Karen, who was a very knowledgeable and friendly volunteer. It looks like there's going to be a new interactive area opening soon, so we'll be sure to come back.
Nice place to take a stroll. It is nice to see the park under every different seasons.
You will appreciate to sit on a bench and read a nice book while enjoying the scenery.
There is a cafe situated in the park if you want to enjoy a hot beverage.
Squirrels and ducks will be your companion in your journey.

Prince’s Island is situated North Calgary. It is a sweet little park where you can go for a stroll, relax and enjoy the scenery in a quiet environment. Squirrel and birds will be your companion during your journey, since they are all around the park.
There are lots of bridge to access the island and places to sit as well.
What a great display of automotive history. Two floors of cars, trucks, gas pumps and various extra items. Staff are very friendly and quite willing to discuss the displays. Check out the reconstructed service station. It's well worth the trip to visit this unique spot.
TIP: check groupon for admission rate savings.
I used to love coming here as a kid for field trips, and I would love to come back, I just don’t understand why it’s still closed!

A pedestrian only walkway lined with restaurants, bars, stores on either side. As a tourist, I appreciated this area, making it quite easy to find a restaurant of my choice.

Great walk to stretch your legs. Beautiful scenic walk takes about 20-30 min to complete. (If you walk fast). Lots of ducks, geese and the odd deer here and there. Free admission is always a bonus. 5 🌟 +

Stunning views from the top observation deck. Beautiful view of the mountains. Gorgeous sunsets. Lit up exterior looks great at night.
It is a bustling pedestrian street adorned with numerous iconic skyscrapers lining both sides in downtown Calgary. This street is home to a plethora of upscale restaurants and boasts a charming garden-style shopping center. It is a must-visit destination for tourists and ranks among the most renowned pedestrian streets in Calgary.

It was a nice walk through downtown. Several blocks are blocked off from cars except for at crossroads so it made it safe for walking and easy to cross the street to get to different shops. A lot of restaurants and shops to go in. The streets were lined with flowers which was nice and they were clean.

A few homeless people here and there but not too many and none of them bothered me or asked for money. I felt perfectly safe walking alone.
A bunch of old cars and gas station machines from around the world. They also exhibit the journey of a canadian guy who ran to raise money for cancer in a van around all Canada. You can sit in some cars and take pictures. There's nice light signals and good signals and information. It's a 3 floor museum. In the end, there's a place for kids to play.
Love this street. There are many people enjoying the food of the various restaurants and cafes outdoors with a vibrant and lively environment.

A happening street…!! The 8th Ave is also known as Stephen Avenue is a great place no matter what time of the day, month and year. Lots of restaurants, coffee shops, gift shops etc. are in here. During Calgary Stampede and Christmas it is decorated beautifully. Definitely recommend to have a walk if you’re in town.
Nice park, not far from downtown Calgary if you're on foot. It was cold and windy when we went there, but the parked seemed nice nonetheless. We saw many squirrels and there are beautiful flowers everywhere. Also a good spot to take some pictures of Bow River, but in a sunny day it must be much nicer.
Went back in 2017 place was amazing! Want to go while in Calgary this summer but sadly it was closed to public
Right at the entrance to the Heritage park, you will see the Gadoline Alley on your right, and it is such an incredible place to begin your visit. They have a very big collection of classic cars which were used in Calgary and Alberta over a century ago. Don't forget to go downstairs where there is a large collection of trucks at display. The place has a very strong character to itself and makes you enjoy every minute you stay there.
It's a most vibrant pedestrian street in Calgary with lots of Cafés, restaurants and shops all along the place. There are street artists performing all time of the day and you can gind yourself is some good atmosphere here.
I gave it five stars solely for my husband. This building is solely full of automobile related collections. If you enjoy this you will have a splendid time. If however like myself you are bored by such pursuits and label vehicles as to their color and type only (example: it’s a red truck) then I recommend bringing a good book.

Nice place for walking ,lot of wildlife in there.
I'm always a fan of pedestrian streets and Stephen Avenue is definitely one of the true places for hang out. It's a wonderful experience in city redevelopment.
Great museum and recommend taking a trip to see it.

We stumbled across Heritage Park while looking for interesting museums in the area and would recommend going to Gasoline Alley Museum. We arrived right when they opened which was great as we essentially had multiple private tours with multiple staff sharing history and stories about many of the pieces they have on display.

Tickets are available onsite, though the longest queue was to purchase tickets. You can purchase them online before you go.

It's a nice building, but nothing much to visit.
This will be an incredibly biased review as I’ve only been here during the Calgary Folk Festival.

What I can say about it though is it is amazing. Had such a lovely day there. Taking in a fantastic array of live music, food, and scenery.

I love that this place is basically downtown but feels as though it’s in a serene spot in the middle of nowhere at the same time.

I’ll have to return shortly and see what it looks like when left to its own devices.

That festival is one of the best organized I’ve ever attended in terms of flow of traffic.

Also, Fantastic Negrito. Never heard of him until they day. Look him up. Just, fantastic haha.

I visited this park during July end. The park is very beautiful and clean. The neighborhood is lovely. The park is on the banks of Bow River. Water is dark blue and looks very scenic. However, parking was limited. We went to the peace bridge, and even though it was under construction, the bridge looked beautiful.
One of the best collections of not only antique cars and other vehicles, but has pumps and signs for the auto world. This is hooked on to the Heritage park which was also a wonderful activity.

Lots of things to do at a cost! Thus, it is pretty expensive as there seems to be a fee for everything including overpriced food. However there are some free activities so plan accordingly and do come early if you don’t want to spend hours lining up for rides. I would say dedicate a day to spend here, if not then buy the all week pass for $49 which is basically the price of 2days at the stampede…definitely a lot cheaper than buying them separately where it’s $23-$26 for single entry.

2023 stampede was great. The kids amusement park was less busy than the adults area. It’s worth getting the wrist band to get access to all rides. Parking in lot 10, lot 11/ 11 Ave would save at least 10 bucks than the stampede ground parking.

Really excited to share my first time experience at Calgary Stampede. 10 day mega event including different Rodeo events in afternoon and Derby race and night show at evening. Famously known as worlds largest Rodeo show stands up to its reputation. Really crowded and eventful grounds. Really liked the Rodeo event, the horse bucking, youth and kids rodeo events and ultimate show stopper Bull Bucking. Really enjoyed the show. The food festival and stalls was numerous. If you need enjoy the event plan for at least 2 days at stampede grounds.

Fort Calgary: A Venue Steeped in History and Celebration 🏰🎆

Located at the convergence of the Bow and Elbow rivers, Fort Calgary offers an immersive journey into Calgary's rich history. But its appeal stretches beyond its historical significance; it's a place where communities gather to mark festivities, with the 1st of July celebrations being a high point of the annual calendar. However, this year's fireworks spectacle didn't quite ignite the spark one would expect, despite the locale's undeniable charm. Let's delve into the allure and occasional letdowns of Fort Calgary. 🗺️🔍

## Historical Resonance of Fort Calgary 📜🔔

Fort Calgary, established in 1875, serves as a beacon of the city's heritage. It was here that the North-West Mounted Police built a fort to bring law and order to the western prairies and lay the groundwork for the vibrant city that Calgary is today. This storied past is meticulously preserved within Fort Calgary, which now operates as an interactive museum, providing visitors a glimpse into the city's origins and evolution. 👮‍♀️🏛️

Strolling around the 40 acres of parkland, you can discover interpretive exhibits, explore the 1888 Barracks, and even view an archaeological dig uncovering the original fort's remnants. It's a captivating encounter with history that also offers a tranquil escape from the city's bustling pace. 🌳🏞️

## The 1st of July Fireworks: A Missed Spark 🎆😔

As the venue for the city's Canada Day celebrations, Fort Calgary typically bursts into life on the 1st of July. Traditionally, a spectacular fireworks display caps off the day's festivities, illuminating the sky in a dazzling dance of light and color. However, this year, the fireworks spectacle fell short of the usual brilliance.

The display lacked the grandeur and intricacy that spectators have come to anticipate from such a notable event. While the occasion is primarily about celebrating our nationhood, the fireworks are undeniably a cherished tradition and a beloved climax to the day's celebrations. Therefore, the underwhelming performance was a disappointment. 🎇😞

## The Silver Lining: Fort Calgary's Appeal 🌅🦋

Despite the lackluster fireworks display, Fort Calgary remains a prized jewel of the city. Its expansive green spaces, scenic river views, and historic structures create an idyllic setting for family outings, picnics, and cultural exploration.

The Deane House, an original 1906 structure, adds to Fort Calgary's appeal. Now operating as a restaurant, it offers a charming gastronomic experience nestled amidst history. The place, with its beautiful garden and a gourmet menu, is a delight for both history enthusiasts and food lovers. 🏡🍽️

In conclusion, Fort Calgary, despite the unfortunate firework misfire this year, continues to captivate locals and tourists alike with its mix of historical allure, natural beauty, and community spirit. Here's hoping that next year's celebrations will bring back the sparkle that was missed, making Canada Day at Fort Calgary an unforgettable experience once again! 🎉🇨🇦
Such a great place full of so much nature. This place is right in the middle of the city but you feel like you're outside the city.

Loved it. Perhaps only one of its kind in the entire North America.

Mist visit as it occurs for 10 days in a year in the month of July. It has everything starting from food, drinks, rides, different cultural games, shows, music and what not.

Very misleading. All things point towards it being open and located at Canada Olympic park (COP) but after reading about other people who have showed up to a locked and closed building I was quite disappointed. Canada sports hall of fame please update your site and show truly how proud you are of these amazing Canadians
Prince Edward's park is nestled in a serene neighborhood of Calgary, and it offers a peaceful and picturesque escape from the city's hustle and bustle. The park features well-maintained walking paths that wind through lush greenery and beautiful gardens, perfect for leisurely strolls or picnics. The playground area is well-designed and provides a safe and enjoyable space for children to play. The park also boasts ample open spaces, making it ideal for outdoor activities like frisbee, soccer, or simply relaxing on a sunny day. With its tranquil atmosphere and scenic surroundings, Prince Edward Park is a delightful oasis for nature lovers and families alike.
Gasoline Alley is an absolute must-visit for history buffs and vintage enthusiasts alike.

As someone who never thought I would be captivated by gasoline pumps, I was pleasantly surprised by the fascinating display.

The vintage car collection is a treat for the eyes. It takes you on a journey back in time. The carefully curated exhibits helps you imagine and appreciate how people lived in the past. Amazing experience.

Calgary has plenty of beautiful parks all over the city, and Prince's Island Park is, definitely, one of the most popular and visited parks in downtown that has picturesque downtown, river, and waterfront views.
In summer, the park is thronged by a variety of people of all the ages and interests. cyclists, walkers by themselves or with their furry friends and joggers are seen on the trails on either side of the river and on the over bridge.
There are lots of trees and lush green grounds with benches to enjoy the nature and the river.
There is a children playground with various equipment to keep them active and occupied in the natural surroundings.
Also, a cafeteria and washrooms are on the park to cater to the needs of visitors.
The amazing park has lots to offer to every kind of people, for free. Walking along the river filled me and my wife with enormous exhilaration.
Great Building! Liked Glenbow Museum! Beautiful exhibits highlighting different art mediums and Pencil art, and great indigenous artists and insight about the culture. a lot to see definitely recommend to come visit this Museum, enjoyed the History and overall experience was nice.
Such a nice quiet area to explore with tons of different wildlife to see. Just being there a short time I saw lots of different birds, some deer close by, fish, and 2 Canadian geese with their new born babies. This wasn't my first time here, but definitely won't be my last!

Very picturesque place - just to walk, see around, enjoy the view to the river and river park. You can see the tableaux with the information about the Fort and significant persons from history.
Not sure if it is open (as the map stated “closed”), but we saw the group of kids with the teacher who entered the door “School excursions”.

All in all - we wanted to see it as we were close to it. If you are at this location, take a look!

We did the true crime walking tour and it was a blast! I always forget how little I know if Calgary's history and how fascinating it is when I do learn a tidbit.

In the case of this tour, it was end of October at twilight. Fair warning: it gets cold as the sun goes down. Dress appropriately. Calgarians should know this but a surprising number had not dressed adequately so they were getting cold by the end.

I hadn't thought to arrive early to enjoy the museum, but I would recommend that you do because I recall it being interesting. I hadn't realized that our tour tickets might get us in (I'm not certain if they do, but it's worth asking).

Nice quiet walk to hear different bird sounds. We went in fall on Sunday, it wasn't busy at all. There weren't many birds either, but nice group walk anyways.
Took my granddaughter here for some time together. A little know gem in the N.E. close to the police station. Very good displays and a lot of police history here. A great place to bring your kids. There are some interactive display and a bunch of fascinating things.

Took my kids here. I'd say it's your regular park. It's actually two playgrounds close to each other. Kids had fun.
As the owner of Cybertech360, I see technology used everyday in a wide variety of organizations. CSHOF far exceeds the “average technology”; utilizing sophisticated technology systems to power the interactive exhibits in this state of art facility.

Such an interesting place to visit, lots of interesting things on display, and so much history to learn about. The permanent collections are quite good, but I also really enjoy the exhibits which change, as they it freshen things up. I recently learned about the extensive collections this museum actually holds, and I hope with the new place that they rotate more, as it’s really good to learn more about our history in Alberta, Canada, and the world.

Amazing art history museum! Beautiful exhibits highlighting deffoerent art mediums like pencil, paint and sculpture. Great inclusion of inuit and indigenous artists and culture. I especially loved the Mankind exhibit and the pencil art exhibit. Definitely worth a visit if you're in town and in mood to see some astounding art. Although, there is currently a huge renovation going on where the 3rd and 4th floors are closed, maybe even for while. Also, they need ticket reservations online with certain time slots.
nice soccer pitches and basketball courts. Also good place to watch the sunset

Spacious enough for social distancing in this pandemic. Enjoyed exploring all the floors from first floor to the 4th. Lots of interesting arts, cultural and historical collections. Staff were friendly and helpful. It’s good to see security guards too.
Was there to play softball. Located in a nice area. Field was nice, but not overly well maintained. Hadn't been mowed in two week's, and diamond need some attention to.
Great Place, played Frisbee for a while... It has basketball court, tennis court, soccer field and baseball field..... Usually all empty. But beautiful in summer.
Today was my first time to visit the place and I had a blast educating myself on Canadian sports legacy. As a basketball fanatic I was intrigued with Dr.James Naismith works that was on display. It was very informative for me. He was a genius and now it has been a global sports. I would absolutely recommend for families especially with kids to visit and learn the rich history of Canadian sports. How I wish I could be a hall of Famer too.
It's pretty fun to go check out all the exhibits you can see how technology has changed and what people have influenced changed in the sport. All in all it's a huge place with a lot to learn
Very interesting and moving, see the very detailed and well made video at the beginning of the trip really put you in the mindset to want to see and hear about all these people, even as someone who's not super interested in sports. SAIT got us into a special tour of the behind the scenes areas so we got to see all the archived collections that haven't been seen by the public yet. Very interesting, and everybody that works there were very friendly and informative. This is a very cool non-profit organization that is doing their best with what they have and deserve all the recognition.

The best museum I've been to. Some of the stands are interactive. Great source of inspiration.

Seems somewhat modest when you come in but the moment I spoke to the receptionist I knew this was gonna be good. Very kind people willing to help you, guide you and, if you go on your own you don't miss a thing since everything is very intuitive.

Highly recommended both as a personal experience as well as a group visit

Visited during their First Thursday of the Month free admission and it was really crowded but worth the visit! They have four floors with lots of exhibits like Calgary history, pre-historic time, Minerals, artifacts, collections and contemporary arts. It’s a good place to visit if you’re in Stephen Avenue area so you could get a little history about the city👌

We were lucky as when we got to the museum they told us it was free for everyone! We thought it would be crowded, but it was not. There were plenty of people but did not feel uncomfortable, there was plenty of room for everyone to move around and look at the exhibitions. Warriors is one of our favorite exhibits. I have seen lots of armors before, but did not know how they made them, here we learned so much! Also the mineral exhibit is amazing, worthwhile visiting, kids loved it. Visiting the museum takes time, we could not see all of it, but are planning a second visit. This is a great museum!
Always a treat and a fun experience to go to Glenbow. A wide variety of both Canadian and international exhibits makes the visit applicable to anyone, and will really make you pass the time without knowing. There’s a lot to see and learn, and it’s nice to see a lot of people really engaged with different artifacts and artworks. Worth the money and your time, and the free first Thursdays of each month is a snag.
Nice park. Little hill great for sledding in winter. Soccer pitches for summer. Good playground structure with swing set.
Great facilities and exhibits, not that big, but worth checking out. Be sure to watch the movie, it plays every 30 minutes. One question, why are the Howe and Orr jerseys from 2015?
