Look at The salad $24, which isn't as colorful as Woolies' $5 salad. The pancake $28, but it's thick and already hardened. Also, the bespectacled female employee didn't finish coffee, but she's going to take it. Many travelers bring their carriers to visit, but I don't want them to be disappointed with Melbourne's coffee culture. I wouldn't go back again.

It’s famous for its brunch, so it’s definitely worth a try. I love the atmosphere of the place where is cool but cozy in its own way. The portions were too big, so we had to leave some, but the flavours were good. Just the price is bit expensive compared to other brunch places.

Always have an enjoyable meal here at Rococo Point Cook. The CALABRESE D.O.C and MARGHERITA pizzas are always 10/10. Pasta dishes are large servings. BUCATINI ALL’AMATRICIANA is always tasty. Recommended. Suggest to book a table.

When looking for a place to eat in a new town it's advisable to choose a place that's busy, it's also wise to consider looking for a place where the staff look and sound happy while working as well as working with ease and efficiency. Well I chose both in a little place called Hard Coffee in Tedder ave gold Coast. Two mornings in a row. Can not fault it. Yes, when it's busy there will be a wait, (like anywhere) trust me, it's worth it. I'll be back 🙂

There was a separate menu for vegans with lots of options. The vegan lasagna that we had was probably the best we've had so far.
Nick provided us with excellent service.

Nice restaurant that I was highly anticipating but it fell a little short. The restaurant itself is simply stunning, would make for an incredible venue for a special event. Coffee was exceptional, but service felt a little cold, forced, and the hotcakes were drowned in maple syrup making it just far too sweet for me to enjoy. It’s on the pricier side, $30 for ricotta hotcakes is definitely a little steep. I rate it well for a casual solo meal however, they have fantastic bench seating that overlooks the restaurant.
Good selection of light meals, cramped shared tables
I've traveled far and wide, and this spot truly embodies the essence of a hidden treasure. Peter and the delightful Sarah, the owners, are truly remarkable individuals. It's easy to see why one feels an instant connection with this place.

Their generous hospitality keeps us all in good spirits, making us a much happier crowd here in Sydney!

The captivating interior is what caught my eye; I stumbled upon this gem while passing through the lobby on my way back from supporting the local shelter.

Undoubtedly, it's one of the finest discoveries I've made, and I extend heartfelt thanks to Peter and Sarah for their kind welcome. I’m definitely dropping in soon for a good meal.

The cleanliness standards at this cafe was severely lacking. I was appalled to see the employee use the same gloves for sweeping the floor and preparing my sandwich. Moreover, her apron came into direct contact with my food as she assembled it. The sandwich was wrapped so carelessly that I had to use my hands to keep the ingredients from falling out. Despite the subpar hygiene and service, the prices were exorbitantly high. Additionally, all the bread rolls were exposed, attracting potential flies. This was completely unacceptable.

Loved the vibe of this cafe! Buzzing and mostly corporate clientele during the week.

Very thick fluffy gluten free bread which is always a good surprise! Lovely presentation of the scrambled eggs which were creamy and big portion. Good selection of pastries and amazing breakfast menu.

They do a pretty good matcha. Not the best I’ve had but still good.

Would absolutely come back on a weekend where I have more time to sit back and enjoy.
Having been a fan of Rococo since my days visiting their original St Kilda location, I recently decided to try their Point Cook venue, focusing on their pizza menu this time, I have been to this venue a few times too but never had the chance to write a review . Rococo maintains an authentic Italian vibe, complete with a vast array of pizza options, though the prices are a bit on the higher side. The ambience, as always, was pleasant, contributing to a nice dining experience.

The pizza was good, though not the best I've had in Melbourne. It's worth noting that while the service can be hit or miss depending on the day, the pasta dishes I've tried previously have always been delightful. Despite the few downsides, my overall experiences with Rococo keep me coming back. I will definitely return to enjoy more of what they have to offer.

We’ve booked this months ahead so we could get seats. It’s always been so busy too. Love the decor. My food was a little too salty for my liking. I got the Spanner Crab Benedict because it was different. The scrambled was good. I’d still recommend this place.

After a four-year absence from Melbourne, my spouse and I made this our first stop after leaving the airport. This place is undoubtedly one of the best place in Melbourne for breakfast, brunch, and exceptional coffee. The food was beautifully presented and tasted delicious, and the staff were friendly and professional. Overall, the experience was as remarkable as we remembered from our previous visit. I recommend making a reservation in advance to avoid waiting in line, as this place is quite popular.
Such a fantastic Australian historical site.
Built on people's poor situations in England as well as being discovered by multiple nations who sent out explorers.
Most of the bricks for the old buildings were hand made. So were the bridges, walls, chimneys and lots more. The convicts were worked really hard and in leg irons too.
We paid our respects to the old cafe area and reflection pool. Oh my.
Thoroughly recommended a visit to this historical site. Join the guided walk/tours for further insight.

Went to this cafe to enjoy a nice breakfast. All the food options sounded so unappealing. We decided to head to the Bakery next door, and all still get a coffee from this cafe. Once we came back, we were rudely told that we can’t have food from the bakery at this cafe, as it was bad for the business. It was in a brown paper bag, god forbid! Despite being paying customers, we were asked to leave. Entitlement at its finest. It’s amazing how the staff can have such an attitude considering how bad their service and food is!
Ah, where do I even begin to express my adoration for this place? Thyme Cafe has captured my heart in more ways than one – from its inviting atmosphere to its warm and welcoming staff, and of course, the mouthwatering food that keeps me coming back for more. My partner and I have made it a ritual to visit twice a week for breakfast, and each time we arrive, we're greeted like old friends returning home.

First, let's talk about the atmosphere. There's a certain charm about Thyme Cafe that instantly puts you at ease. The cozy interior, adorned with rustic decor and soft lighting, creates the perfect backdrop for a leisurely morning meal. It's the kind of place where you can linger over your coffee, get lost in conversation, or simply soak up the tranquil ambiance.

And then there are the people – the heart and soul of this beloved cafe. The staff here are more than just servers; they're genuine, friendly faces who go above and beyond to make every visit memorable. From the moment we walk in, we're greeted with warm smiles and cheerful greetings, as if we're part of the family. And let's not forget about the visiting puppy dogs of the day! It's a delightful surprise to see furry companions lounging around, adding an extra layer of joy to our breakfast outings.

But perhaps the crowning glory of Thyme Café is the food. Oh, the food! It's nothing short of a culinary masterpiece, with each dish crafted to perfection using the freshest, highest quality ingredients. Whether we're craving fluffy pancakes drizzled with syrup, hearty omelettes bursting with savoury fillings, crispy bacon piled high on buttery toast with eggs, or my husband's favourite the delicious, overflowing granola jar, Thyme Café never fails to deliver. And paired with a steaming cup of freshly brewed coffee, it's a breakfast experience that leaves us feeling nourished and content.

In essence, Thyme Café isn't just a place to eat; it's a sanctuary, a haven where good food, good company, and good vibes come together in perfect harmony. It's a place where memories are made and moments are cherished, and for that, we'll keep coming back time and Thyme again.

Great brunch and breakfast spot near Flagstaff station. Went in on the long weekend and it was busy already. They have a wide menu offering meals and coffee. Some of the meals being served too good to be eaten. I ordered a simple toast along with the famous vegemite and peanut butter as well as a cafe latte. Can't really go wrong with toast while the coffee was good but not as much as I really expected. They have seating outside too and by the time I left around 1030am there was a long line waiting to get in. 15 AUD for my meal is quite decent pricing in an otherwise expensive city.

The biscottini are made fresh daily that come gratuitous with a coffee. The quality of food at Thyme stems from the owners ethos of farm fresh food that is generously served with pride. Meals are always honest in portions and extremely satisfying in taste. We are never tempted to go elsewhere.

All in all, it wasn't that bad. The meal was nice and the service was good. However, I blame the high humidity on the day for the small stale cookie.

I hardly ever leave reviews, especially bad ones. The staff member who served me was extremely racist to my culture and this was out of no where. On top of that he charged me $23.50 for 2 coffees and said "my boss told me to charge you this". I highly recommend against going to this place. I will never be entering again.
Amazing food 😍
Service/ place: we waited around 15 minutes to be seated for breakfast due to the high amount of guests - but absolutely worth the wait. Also we visited with our 8 month old son who where in a stroller and the staff where kind to allow the stroller inside.
The acoustic is a bit bad but not a real problem.
Food: We ordered the pretzel with avocado and the cale salad - both delicious. And a flat white ☕️ For next time I would save the salad for a lunch visit and order pretzel, sourdough or waffle with salmon. Thank you for a great experience!

We really wanted to like this place… it had such positive reviews. Our wait time for food was about an hour. The table next to us left, as they waited over an hour for food which never arrived. Other tables also seemed to be looking around at the staff, wondering where their orders were. Cappuccinos took 20 mins to arrive, then were mediocre. The staff were nice, but there was seemingly no organization so we also waited a while for someone to finally take our order and bring waters (after being flagged down). Food arrived and my order was wrong, they remade it quickly. We ordered breakfast items and they were average at best (though presentation was quite nice). Upon checkout, they asked “how was everything”, and I kindly replied “honestly, it was very slow and the food was only o…k… once it arrived”… a reply I’ve never had the courage to say. My answer was brushed over with no acknowledgment. Unfortunately, we feel like we wasted a ‘good meal’ opportunity by selecting Thyme :(

Love the ricotta hot cakes. To me, the portion was huge, it is better to share the sweet and order another savory selections for yourself. We tried several dishes and everything was good.

The food and service were nice, we love the place and we visited this restaurant twice in our short trip. And we would love to dine here again when we visited Melbourne in another time.

This is a long overdue review. We had brunch here on a busy morning on the 4th January.
All tables were taken, but we were lucky enough to grab one when someone left. We sat outside and even though it was hot, the overhead trees and umbrellas were welcome shade.
I had seasonal fruit salad and my partner had oat banana pancakes.
The food and coffees were very good. Great tastes for both meals.
Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was very pleasant.
We will definitely be back. It was worth the drive from Cleveland.

A popular brunch place near Flagstaff garden. Came on a weekday at 12, waited around 30 minutes. Service was prompted. I am not a coffee person but the matcha latte was nice. The food presentation was great as well. The taste was however just above average, can't really remember one dish that's stand out. Worth a try if you are around and there is no line.

Although my partner and I had to wait for a while because it was packed during lunchtime and it’s one of the popular cafes here, this is one of my favourite cafes in Melbourne! The food is on the pricier side but it’s definitely worth it. The food was presented beautifully and the coffee was amazing and I’m willing to try the other foods on their menu. The restaurant is located in what looks like an industrial zone but once inside, the atmosphere is nice and warm. Friendly staff and good service. The food is good and in huge portion. Their cocktails selection is more than just the classics which I really enjoyed.

My fav dish would be mushroom risotto, pollo alla milanese and strozzapreti braised duck ragu. My husband loves their carbonara. I tried some other dishes but they were a bit on the salty side for me.

Just a heads up, staff might ask if you’d like to leave a tip when you pay the bill.

The overall experience was good. The staff was nice and the food was really good. Just you may need to wait for 45 mins outside under the sun lining up outdoor. The toast with soft-shelled crab was really good and the coffee was nice as well. The sweet pancake wasn’t as good as I thought though - it is still worth a try.

Cafe is quite popular, one day we walked passed but decided to come the next day. It was well worth the wait. We ordered the smashed yuzu avocado toast with extras and the corn fritters with extra mushrooms. The servings were large and extremely filling but absolutely delicious. Hard big breakfast, kids pancake and banana n oat pancake are so delicious and big portions for us. Especially kids pancake is only $7!! 🤩Great service Yum food!!❤️
This cafe gets ultra busy, but they handle the crowd well. I visited a couple of years back & scored a great flat white, this time mediocre! Sent the coffee back three times, third time ok! Great effort to please though, so thanks for that. Don't like takeaway cups & that's all they had. Raspberry & white chocolate muffin was rather dry.

What a cute funky bar 🍸 YOLO has been on my list for some time. Jam packed with happy customers and it is unique hole in the wall kind of a place. The owner must love bicycles. I was only here for a drink (my cocktail was on sweeter side than expected). The draft beer (Orion) was nice light beer for summer.

This was kind of a "hidden" gem as its located in an unusual location. Food was really good. The portion, as any good Italian Restaurant, was huge. Service was ok, when we were seated our table still a bit dirty from previous customers but still ok. The only downside is it can be quite busy and noisy. But if you after a great night out with delicious Italian food, you should try this place!

I recently stopped by Deli Italia and I had a wonderful experience. The cappuccino was perfectly frothed and the toasted salami and cheese sandwich was absolutely delicious. The bread was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the flavors of the salami and cheese were rich and flavorful. The service was friendly and the atmosphere of the deli was cozy and inviting. I will definitely be returning to Deli Italia for more delicious Italian treats. Highly recommend!

The new owners have done amazing at this place. Had my little ones 4th birthday the other day. Well done and thank you to the owners and accommodating us.

Special thank you to Lexi. She was incredible at being there for us and all the other people she was helping.
Great place to visit. The historical stories are fascinating and very interesting. It must have been quite a terrible place to have been incarcerated as an early colony days convict. The site is spread over quite an area and quite a few hours can be spent roaming from one building/ruins to another. The scorpion rock lookout is worth the short walk up and provides a nice view (although partially obstructed by trees) over the church and some parts of the site. The boat trip is included and is free with entry, and although the $30 optional fee for the 40 minute tour of the Isle Of The Dead is about steep but I felt it was worth it to get a better understanding of why they chose the location, as well as burial priorities, plot location and adornment was very interesting.
Do yourself a favour and visit The Local on Main Tedder Ave. This gorgeous cafe has left my family & I with the best impression!
It’s the cutest little spot with delicious food. The staff are very friendly & welcoming. The breakfast menu is impressive & our meals did not disappoint! “The Fresh Start” and “Eggs Benedict” were both amazing! The Waffles with Maple Syrup & Ice Cream were a huge hit with our kids. Also their coffee is to die for & freshly pressed juice so satisfying and healthy. We will definitely be returning!

This is a huge area. The buildings are mostly shells with no roofs. The museum displays were the best. If you are a history buff, you would enjoy this.

Excellent service and super friendly staffs, best quality coffee and consistent taste. Sometimes when they are very busy, staffs will apologise to me first and let me know that waiting time might be a bit longer. I will give 10 stars if Google allows.
here's a tip. If you advertise a roll for say 10 dollars and then you are required to choose the bread type and that costs 1 dollar but you don't have an option not to choose the 1 dollar roll why not just say the roll costs 11 dollars? Dodgy.

Just discovered this gem 💎!
Kids had a great time. And the coffee was great, and the food was all so reasonably priced (and yummy!). Think we might book our next birthday party here!
It would of be nice to get the table that my wife book as she asked and was told no problem, in instead then please give walk in more priority, give myself and my wife have been here multiple times,

The risotto was good, but my wife pizza 🍕 was burnt underneath and charcoal pit on top.

This is first time we has the food quality down.
Beautiful atmosphere, fantastic service and delicious food! Lovely coffee and pretty little spaces to dine, catch up with friends, meet for a drink or just soak up the vibe of Tedder Ave. Highly recommend!

Food was delicious, service was great and the owner who was sitting a couple of seats over was so kind and lovely to her staff members. My partner even handed in a resume because the owner Kathy was so lovely. We will definitely be back. Also the price of the food was reasonable. Under $40 for two coffees and 3 breakfasts. Yummo ❤️ I felt like I could sit here all day long and eat brekky and lunch and relax. Can't wait to return.

I’ve been here a couple times when travelling through the city. They’re a great Italian deli and I’ve had continentals from here a few times. I’ve even ordered through Uber eats. Each time I’m greeted with a tasty, fresh Italian continental with plenty of meat and antipasto. Would strongly recommend if you like continental rolls, made fresh to order and with fresh meats this is your place!

Had the Chicken parm sandwich. Really high quality and authentic ingredients. The owner Roberto was really nice. Great coffee. Highly recommend, a hidden gem.
We were pleasantly surprised by the great quality of drinks and cake which we ordered. The mocha frappe was beautiful, no added sugar, just mocha with crushed ice. The summer sling juice was freshly pressed and refreshing. The coconut and lemon pie tasted divine! Would highly recommend it!

Prompt service. Great ambiance. Very nice coffees. Very welcoming friendly cheerful owner, Dieter. Reasonable prices.
My husband and I were very disappointed in the state of the toys/mazes.. the foam was coming apart and held together with zip ties, large chunks of foam were missing many places, the ball pit was almost empty, most nets had big holes, and everything was just incredibly filthy. It seems like nobody has cleaned this place since it opened. Almost didn’t want my little one touching anything. A real shame because it is huge and roomy with tons of seating and different play areas, but disappointing that it’s just not maintained at all. Would not recommend or go back. That said, our 16 month old, that doesn’t mind dirty run down toys, absolutely loved it here.

Fun place for the kids to spend a few hours. Quite hot inside so dress in cool clothing. Make sure you explore all the areas for different things to do.
We stayed in the toddler area and took pics there but there's a great jungle gym for older kids too.

Friendly service. Cute venue. Great menu!

Great job on the chicken Caesar salad and the club sandwich was outrageously large.

Great lunch. Will be back

Fantastic breakfast. The Sautéed field mushys were a stand-out dish for me, and I am hard to please. If you like mushrooms, give it a go. The expresso coffee was good, just slightly acidic. The sausages were great too.
Friendly staff and very quick to keep the table clear of dirty dishes. Highly recommend.

EDIT: Decided to revisit this place as its under new management.
The menu is better but it's still not great. Poor service.
I stood at the counter 3 times and the young girl was no where to be seen. There were only 2 other families in there so it wasn't like she was busy.
I took my daughter to the change room and she fell through the change table, lucky I was able to catch her.
Don't waste your time going here.

This play centre is so run down and a sest pool for germs. The floors are disgusting, the toys in the toy room are so old, they look like they've never been cleaned and the room itself was filthy. The soft toys were so ewww brown and had various kids sucking on them.
The actual play area itself was so old, rundown, unclean and held together in places with cable ties, some of the padding was falling down. I didn't enjoy being there and refused to buy the kids food there as it seemed so unclean, unless they upgrade the place I won't ever take the kids back. I really miss places like Abrakidazzle.

Hard Coffee is located at Tedder Avenue.
It is a beautiful street with cafes and restaurants which near to the Main Beach (few minutes walk).

We love the outdoor spaces and seating area. Lovely breakfast with amazing tomato relish (yummy). Coffee is excellent too.

What did we order:

Breakfast:
•Hard’s Big Breakfast
•Free Range Egg (tomato relish-yummy)

Drinks:
•Short Black
•Long Black
•Short Mac

Casual lunch with friends today and was oh so pleasantly surprised to discover what seems like a secret outdoor dining area.

Small lunch menu but The Local does offer an all day breakfast, which is always great!

Food was served relatively quickly and all three of us ate everything on our plates.

Cute little venue on Tedder Ave, wouldn’t mind going back and checking out breakfast.
I was really impressed with the meal.

I ordered the hamburger and it a solid hamburger, the Relish they used was full of flavour. The burger was a decent size and ebeh used a good quality bun and fresh ingredients.

Even through they were super busy only waited 10 mins for the burger.

I would have given a 5 but the pattie was a bit cold.

I paid just under $20 bucks for a burger and chips and was well worth it (tbh I was expecting to pay more being the location etc).
Food is good and value for money. There are 2 cafes in this place and you have variety of choices. Staff are friendly. There are lot of seating areas. Service is quick. Food is fresh and tasty. Indoor and outdoor dining areas available. Usually this is very busy. But staff take care of the guests. You don't need to book for seats. It is better to dine at this place before or after visiting this historic place. Because other restaurants are bit far way.

If I could give this venue a rating of 0 I would, it was a complete disappointment in its entirity.

Over the weekend visited BigTop Playhouse for my god-daughters 3rd birthday and was met with a continual level of disappointment and frustration for the service my friend paid for. This party cost my friend over $800 and included extras she paid for like a balloon garland, costumed character and additional food platters.
When arriving at the venue we were met with dirty tables and chairs, tilting theme display which was completely unsafe, used table cloths and also only approx 5 themed plates and napkins with the rest of the settings replaced with an alternate themed plates, cups and napkins from a different childrens program.
I think one of the biggest disappointment was the balloon garland that was purchased as an extra for $120 per the advertised images and was nothing more than 4 individual balloon bunches that could have been done by anyone (photos attached).
Reusable cups that our children were given were dirty and looked to have not been properly washed and had been braisenly given to patrons.
The venue was completely understaffed and guests of our party were left to fend for ourselves in a private party room with a costumed character. We had to ask random patrons and their children to leave the room so that our kids could enjoy the costumed character that was paid for our party. This should have been something the staff should have been doing. I even had to ask to take over the music in the room for the kids as completely inappropriate music for children was being played.
We even had to help escort the lovely girl in the costume out of the room safely as the one staff member who was in the room with us left after I took over the music.
The food which was purchased additionally for $100 was nothing more than frozen party packs from your local shopping centre. If we were allowed to bring our own food in I can assure you it would have been much more enjoyable.
The actual playground space was completely run down with multiple sections of the play area held together with duct tape and zip ties and covered in a thick layer of dust.
When my friend sent a complaint to the owner on the same day, raising all these concerns it took over 38 hours for her to respond and was met with no remorse or explination for this service.
All in all it left a sour and dirty taste in our mouth and I know I am not the only one to say we would never recommend this venue to anyone looking to celebrate their childs special day.
Absolute disgrace.

always a positive experience, staff are lovely. Coffee is always on point.

__________

2024 update: unfortunately I want to update this review. Coffee has become way overpriced opposed to others around the area. Coffee has risen yes, but this is even higher than average and probably not worth your time anymore. That aside, if you do decide to go here, staff are still lovely.
Despite the Main Beach location, this cute cafe is very fairly priced. Love that both their breakfast *and* lunch menus are all day. We went with the smashed avo on toast (with feta) plus a side of halloumi and the big brekkie.

Took a little bit to come out considering the place was very quiet but the staff were friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is nice so we weren't too bothered. Overall, the food was delicious. Only criticism would be that the poached eggs were a bit under cooked and we both found it challenging to eat from their choice of crockery (not easy to cut through chunky toast in a bowl!)

Definitely worth a visit if you're passing by.

Taste: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Value for money: 💰💰💰💰💰/5
Customer service: ❤️❤️❤️❤️/5
Atmosphere: 😍😍😍😍😍/5

Will visit again: ✅

Melbourne is full of hidden gems, and Higher Ground definitely falls into that category. Tucked away in a heritage-listed building, it's not your typical cafe. It has this cool industrial-chic vibe, with exposed brick walls and a multi-level layout that feels both spacious and intimate.

I went for brunch and was blown away by the menu. It's not your average fare - think avocado pretzel with a fancy twist or fiery chili scrambled eggs. I opted for the ricotta hotcakes with poached pears and maple syrup, and it was divine. The portion was perfect, the flavors were perfectly balanced, and the presentation was beautiful.

The service was another highlight. The staff were friendly and attentive, without being overbearing. They were happy to answer my questions about the menu and the building's history, which added to the whole experience.

Overall, Higher Ground is a fantastic spot for a special occasion or just a treat. It's a bit on the pricier side, but the quality of the food, the ambiance, and the service definitely justify the cost. I left feeling satisfied and already planning my next visit!
