Absolute rubbish customer service at the lowest level leave you on the side on the road waiting for hours. And then they sent an absolute disgrace of a tow company whom might I at did more damage then the guy that ran into me. Definitely not again run away from these guys

Absolutely terrible insurance company. They are scammers and rip offs. We cancelled our policy over a yr ago and just found out they are still taking the $$ via direct debit. They won't return emails and refuse to pay back or refund what they have taken without permission

Cgu took over my home insurance being new underwriters for anz ,increased my premuims by 300%. They sent documents to address i lived at 10 years before ,they basically stole 500$ dollars from me after all resolution procedures refused to give me any money back.

We contacted them via phone call to report the damage. Then submitted all related documents via email for assessment. Unfortunately, no response at all. We don’t even know the documents have been received or not. We have been waiting for more than 2 weeks.

Very disappointing service so far. As soon as you sign up you get treated differently. Long wait times for assistance, bounced around from person to person and no one responds to your enquiries. I was promised 6 weeks free as part of the sign-up incentive. That hasn’t been honoured and I am unable to get anyone to assist me with my inquiry- I’ve been waiting on the phone for 2 hours. At this stage, I will be going elsewhere for private health. Avoid

Unless you wish to be stressed for months and having to take a career break, even once all repairs are completed!!!!
My Unit had water damage back in October 2023 from the unit above a burst flexi hose caused this lucky I was home at the time, it took over 3months to repair, honestly not 100% happy, they were also meant to strip n replace suspended bulkhead ceiling not simply paint over it, the electrician was pretty dodgy, replaced a strip led light no where near the quality that was there prior, even though he was given measurements by myself, I said “You need to wait for plasterer to strip ceiling” he is like that is not happening, and shrugged his shoulders and said is what it is, he also said he will work around plasterer at the same time, so all dust is still in the so called new cheap strip led light.
I believe I actually saved CHU money as I also discovered a leaking bath pipe, which I was told not from the same claim, but it was, due to so much water being put down the bath pipe, from above unit flooding as I walked through water nearly up to my ankles in their bathroom!!!
Units 1&3 due to being on same level flooded from same issue within the past 6 years, hence why our complex has a $5000 water damage excess.
Unit above has had to do their membrane due to water seeping through below their vanity into my ceiling.
The assessor claimed mine has to be done, which is not correct at all, my personal 2 car garage is directly underneath my bathroom, and was fine, again the assessor did not even go into my garage even when I offered.
Units 1&3 I highly doubt they did their membranes as it was not their unit that flooded either all from above.
I will not be destroying my bathroom which was rennovated before I moved here in 2021, as my bathroom is not the cause at all of the water damage!!!
Also legally CHU you have to keep records for at least 7 years, so maybe look at the claims history with the other 2 units.
Having been in General Insurance previously for nearly 10 years, I know how this works, if I had the money to it would be straight to the High Courts, without dispute resolution.
It would have been a 1/2 star, if possible, due to the fact my Body Corp are very slack, and seem not to pass emails on, it seems to be the Property Manager from the Unit above, who does all the following up here.

This is a company that takes advantage of mature people. At no point have CHU made open communication about the recovery of our townhouse being destroyed from a burst water pipe . After 16 months we are still waiting for reimbursement which they have approved. Our last transaction sums up the whole experience. If interested please ask

Terrible health insurance I’ve ever seen. I’ve done the health insurance for my father during his visit in Australia and I did the claim for something that they told me it’s covered by HCF insurance but after 4 times sending an email they didn’t even reply back to me and not picking up the phone any times I called them during their working hours. I’ve never seen such an unprofessional company I’ll pass my feedback to everyone not to waste their money for this insurance 👎🏻

HCF Health Care is pathetic when it comes to looking after existing members. I recently attempted to make a claim only to find out my card and benefits had been changed by HCF resulting in my card being made unavailable to claim despite paying over $350 p/m in private health premiums. Furthermore, despite requesting a new card applicable to the changes is sent out as soon as possible, I’m advised I need to wait weeks for a usable card through snail mail, (although they are still happy to take my money) and a digital card is not applicable if multiple people are on the account. In a digital age this level of service is pathetic. Avoid HCF if you expect any type of service from a private health fund willing to take your money each month in anticipation of a little service in return!! NIB might be a better option….

I have been with CHU for almost two years now. This time, Brett helped me with my query. I particularly liked that he was transparent in his advice and provided recommendations which helped me decide how much contents insurance I should get. Despite the time difference (me in the US and he in Australia) our communication was smooth and efficient. I look forward to continuing this service with CHU and would recommend them to others too!

Have been insured with CHU for my apartment for several years now. The process to obtain a quote was very straightforward and the quote was competitive and I find the wording to be reasonable compared to other insurers. Renewal process has been easy and premium remains competitive. Haven’t had the need to lodge a claim thankfully, but am very pleased with CHU thus far.

I recently renewed our Landlord Insurance with CHU which was reasonably priced compared to some other Companies however, with CHU you pay an additional "brokerage charge" which was not excessive but an additional charge added to the overall annual premium. If this additional brokerage charge was removed, you would entice a lot more customers.

I have been insured with CHU for a number of years and find them very good to deal with. I have made two claims over the years, and they have both been settled very promptly.

We have our home and contents through CGU, they were amazing when we needed to make a claim, very thorough and highly responsive. I was apprehensive given the low rate with reviews but they couldn't be faulted. The company they used for building repairs Rizon was a bit of a pain to deal with hence the 4 stars but CGU did their part seamlessly.

Basically anything a tenant does they have a loophole for.
Really wishing I read the reviews before playing almost $3k for a 1yr policy only to find out they do not cover you for anything.

I have a number of properties insured with CHU and have always found their prices to be very competitive. I have not had the cause to submit a claim yet but the communications regarding renewals, policys and the like have always been timely and professional. So far so good !!!

Have just taken out a policy for our apartment unit. Looking for an insurance company that specialises in strata properties. CHU looks like is provides just that, the process to obtain a quote was easy and the quote was very competitive. Good payment options with no additional fee to pay monthly. This policy looks to have meet our needs, very happy with CHU thus far.

This is the best HCF branch I have been to.
I come here today to make a claim for some medication costs occurred during the past policy period. The receptionist was very friendly and efficient in arranging an consultant for me, and my consultant today was very professional. She processed my claim and went through all the paper works for me, which saved me a lot time.
I would recommend this branch as the branch to go if you would like to claim in person.

All the call center customer service representatives are sassy as hell, huge attitudes. When I ask to suspend my covers and don't want to give a reason as I don't think that's any of their business, this lady said that's not how it works and I'd need their manager's approval to suspend my covers... OK how about I cancel it all together. Do I need your approval now?
The covers are ok, not that great value for money. The best thing about HCF is the dental covers, even then it's only ok. I have been with them for years and don't feel that the benefits is that great. Kind of a waste of money....

Easy to use website that compares a number of Home Insurance companies. I tried Brisbane Home Insurance out after my renewal went up considerably and I am glad I shopped around.

Attempted to call today 29/12/2020 three times on their website phone number. Recorded message stated to call back later as there was a system failure.
This type of non service has has become more and more prevalent since Transport Health demutualised and become Longevity group a Sydney based company. Now it’s all about the money. Corporate greed.

Recently decided to change health funds to HCF, after being with our previous fund for 15 years. So far the experience has been awful! Still no membership cards after 6 weeks, and have just been advised that there has been another "error" and cards are to cancelled and re issued with another 10 day wait time. Impossible to get hold of them via telephone .... they are always experiencing " high call volumes" with ridiculously long call wait times, and sometimes they just cut you off and ask you to phone back another time due to " technical" issues. Feel totally un supported and vulnerable at this point. Can just imagine how terrifying it must be if you were trying to get hold of them in an emergency situation. If I had know how bad the management side of HCF was, we would never have made the move. It's not worth the small savings in premium. Going to now have to look at changing again. This has caused a huge amount of stress for us!

Been with them for over 11 Years until recently, its just gone down hill fast. Cant get in contact with them through phone, email or web site with no reply's, waiting times on the phone can be over 3 hours through the call Centre, Lost our claims in the mail twice?, they have technical issues to which push's your claims out another 7- 14 days all the time, just the most horrible experience you could imagine in the end, They were good but its gone done hill fast, strongly advise to shop around and ask about customer service because HCF is bad for this and strongly advise to look elsewhere. Through the Local branch is the only way to get communication if you have one. Brisbane Branch is the only ones trying to help us. The main company hopeless and a waste of your time.

Does not offer direct debit. Automated premium due notices never arrive, be it by post or email. They also always decline to transfer a call to a team leader or anyone that can potentially solve problems. Each time premiums are due, the card simply gets declined at your healthcare provider, and you have to phone up to have the same conversation every single time. Very unimpressed.

The customer service person at the call center, Harry (refuses to tell his surname), failed to give a time frame of the refund, although I have already exit the fund for a month. I’d give Zero if I could. Called up knew exactly what I wanted an setup payment for the 18/3. The day passes but no funds taken. Call them (which isn’t my job) they haven’t processed it, haven’t received any documents, Vietnamese lady on the phone couldn’t understand a word she said an basically told me I was wrong an had to serve waiting periods even though I was told on sign up that they were being waived. Asked to speak to a manager they are all in meetings every single one from the company....
