After visiting over 20 escape rooms worldwide, including several in Canada, I began to feel somewhat disillusioned with the Canadian offerings. Many seemed lackluster, featuring unrealistic riddles that seemingly encouraged multiple visits to the same room. The decor was often mundane and overly simplistic. However, my experience at Casa Loma was a delightful exception. It's more than an escape room—it's an immersive adventure.

I visited with my family and we reserved the entire room for 'Dragon's Song.' The decor was nothing short of breathtaking, transporting us to what felt like a magical realm. The riddles were not only creative but also enjoyable, and I was particularly impressed by the integration of technology, which added an exciting dimension to the experience.

What truly set this experience apart were the live actors. Their presence transformed the escape room into something akin to live theater, providing a uniquely engaging and interactive experience. Their skillful acting and subtle way of providing hints and progressing the story were commendable.

We opted to book the entire room for 'Dragon's Song,' which made for a fun, family bonding activity. While I'm curious about the dynamic of playing with strangers, the potential challenge it presents is an interesting prospect in itself. Overall, Casa Loma's escape room was a fabulous experience, and I highly recommend it to both novices and enthusiasts alike.

Festive Holiday Lights was a great expérience with kids. Lights are stunning and the projector effects they had made it come to life. With a magic show and fire show for Entertainment and Characters like the Grinch, and others walking around entertaining the kids was a great add on. The Tunnels were beautifully decorated. We would go again. Parking across George Brown college was an easy walk to the main entrance of the light show. Dress warmly and it's a great evening of fun.

Toronto Downtown, Canada's vibrant metropolis, seamlessly blends modernity with cultural diversity. The iconic CN Tower pierces the skyline, offering panoramic views of Lake Ontario. Its diverse neighborhoods, like Kensington Market and Queen Street West, showcase eclectic shops and eateries. Toronto is a dynamic hub where arts, business, and multiculturalism converge.

To say I felt like a princess walking the halls of Casa Loma is an understatement. It was so beautiful taking everything in at our own pace 🥰 I recommend watching the historical video in the basement before walking the castle because it tells you all you need to know about the history of the castle and the man behind its creation. It was a perfect day trip in Toronto and I’ll definitely be returning in a princess gown for the pictures.
A small little museum, not too much going on. Really depends on what's on at that time and what interests you. Takes 30 minutes tops to see. A great perk though is that you can get free tickets through the Toronto Public Library program.

Great friendly staff...a very good cultural experience. Wish the restaurant was open when we went...and that the gift shop would sell more affordable souvenirs for visitors to bring home/share with others.
We went for the free Fridays, so we didn’t pay anything. We liked the 3 exhibits. It was very quick, but we liked it.
A small, but well-curated contemporary museum. The building itself had interesting architecture, and bathrooms were readily accessible throughout. The café on the ground floor was cute, but pricey such that we did not partake.

A lot of people, nice place to walk after a meal. I went in Christmas so there were nice lights and decorations. I don't know how interesting it would be other times of the year though.
Would not recommend.

First, they try to explain the basic rules of the rooms, but there's a loud speaker playing pop music literally right in our ears while the guy explains everything. We told him we couldn't hear him, he did nothing to accommodate.

They make you play with strangers. I don't know these people, and now I have to workout puzzles with them? Every other room I've ever done has been with my group only. One booking, one group. We've never been mixed in with other groups.why would anyone want this? Other people are the worst.

You don't get to do the entire escape room, because they break everyone off into smaller groups. If you finish your area then you can join another group to help them with their puzzles, but you have no idea what they are working on and have to be brought up to speed.

The actors do a good job, and I have nothing against them, but I hate that they are there, watching the entire time. It feels like someone is reading over my shoulder. Why am I paying for this?

Worst escape room in the city. Hands down. I Would never recommend this experience for anyone, ever.

This was a really cool experience. My family and I were up in Toronto for the day for the Blue Jays game, and needed something to do for a few hours. We were told by some
Locals to check out KM.
I would compare it to East Village in Manhattan. Walker friendly, bike/skateboard friendly, Smaller streets, many places to eat, a lot of street art, random music playing, and an all round good vibe. Loved the thrift stores and all the local small shops. Only a block away from Chinatown.
There was so many different options for food.
There was some street parking if you can find a spot, but there was also a good amount of parking decks. Unlike NYc, parking was reasonable. Found a parking deck about $12 for 3 hours.
So if you are in Toronto and you are looking for a really chill area to hang out, look no further.
Bit of an up and coming area, took advantage of the free Friday night special and enjoyed the exhibits. Was disappointed that the interactive light exhibit that was advertised was actually an exhibit from a few years ago, this was the reason why we went so it was annoying that there wasn’t anything similar happening on-site. Staff and facility was nice and there is a bar serving coffee, alcohol, French/Italian style baked goods/sandwiches and art for purchase.
I had such an incredible time doing the Dragon's Song escape room, and will definitely be looking into booking one of their other rooms in the future! The actors were incredible, and the style of comedy was perfect for the theme of the room. The puzzles were also really great! Just challenging enough to make you think without having to stress about the time limit, and great to split everyone into groups working on whatever catches their eye. Genuinely a 10/10 experience, no notes, keep up the good work everyone <3 !

GO TEAM DAN!!
We were a group of six and we had a blast!! The Murdoch Mysteries puzzles were clever and challenging, and the actors played their parts extremely well, all the while encouraging us as we zipped around solving the conundrums at hand. It was so much fun!! We are happy to recommend Casa Loma Escape Rooms, and we would definitely be excited to try our hand at another soon.

A luxurious castle that is a must visit. Perfectly preserved interiors of bedrooms, offices, children's rooms and restrooms. Museum of Intelligence and Military History. Collection of antique cars. The Wax Museum. If you're lucky enough to visit the castle during the Christmas holidays, you'll be treated to a journey to Santa through the underground tunnels. I recommend!
The Toronto Railway Museum is in the heart of downtown Toronto, opposite to C N Tower and Ripley's Aquarium. The Toronto Railway Museum is the repository of the railway history. Worth a visit to this place to see the old engine and bogie, and the history of railways in Canada.

My parents were married here, back in 73. They passed 17 years ago. This year, we went onto ancestry and found a half sister and a half aunt! We brought them here to share some of mom's history with them at Christmas time. Afterward we did the holiday lights tour. It was beautiful and magical.

Genuinely appreciated spending a few hours here exploring yesteryear. I cannot fathom living in a house of this size for 10 years. The visit is totally worth the ticket cost. We got an Uber to drop us off as we didn’t want to deal with city driving and parking. Definitely worth it. The house is massive so the so many areas to explore. The Christmas decorations and shows make it even more magical.
I enjoyed visiting the textile museum. It reminded me of various reference of many cultures that I’ve experience throughout my life though textile. Beautiful!
I was disappointed, there isn’t much of an immersive experience or enough exhibits to see. The trains in the open area are impressive but you can easily miss out on
going in.

I'm wondering when will be the cavalcade of lights be TOTALLY open...yes the skating rink is open. Renting skates is always a long line up, better bring your own

..the center area with lighted Arches (?), each one is barred with rails and signs do not enter...there are some with structures but without light..

.Will the Santa sleigh be there?

Nice spot with ice rink and huge Toronto signage. It has a snacks bar where you could get burger and fries. Parking is available right below and has good number of spots
It's pretty small, so visits are usually shorter. I do love that they always have new exhibits. It's a great spot to spend an hour and then grab a coffee. Overall, I definitely recommend a visit.

It is an excellent central place in Toronto, pleasant for the whole family. For those who are arriving in Toronto to be able to leave for a unique experience and it is a good place for pleasant encounters. Recommended to go as a couple, as a family, with friends
it’s FREE every Friday after 5pm. Get tickets before hand. There’s a cafe on the main floor delightful setting great for groups or individuals grabbing something or lounging.

The space is large yet I feel the space isn’t used to its full potential. The second floor had few artist work show casing for a large room. Wish there was more work incorporated.
5 stars for the Exhibition Tour of Wedge Collection, Dancing in the Light with MOCA Curator Kate Wong.

I enjoyed the talk very much and gained insight behind the photography pieces and paintings behind Ken Montague’s collection.

There are 3 floors in the building, each floor focusing on one artist.

On the ground floor, there is a large window.

A window piece by an Iranian artist referencing Middle Eastern art and design elements that make up a pattern. As the artist states, this large window is similar to a screen where one can’t see inside from the outside but if one is inside, you can see the outside. A person can observe but not be observed.

The colour against the raw concrete is quite dramatic and beautiful.

The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
Free Friday Night @MOCA Toronto🌛
⏳3 floors have different expositions, and it took around 1 hour.
♥️It’s a tiny museum, but I found my own peace while enjoying their artworks as well as spirits.
💡I just opened mind to feel the emotional connections and interpreted them by my own understanding.

Had SO much fun doing the King of the Bootleggers experience!! The setup of the rooms and actors made it feel like a real speakeasy set in the 20s. The actors were very considerate and gave us the right amount of clues to nudge us towards the right direction, while still leaving us challenged. We did not escape in time but we were close and enjoyed every second of the process. My group came dressed up for the theme but there are also some props at the end for photo opportunities!

Would recommend these escape rooms to everyone and will definitely be back to try the other rooms.

Visit this place if you are looking for peace and quiet. Beautiful outdoor spaces, lovely cafeteria, amazing museum, historic potteries, valuable and rare authentic hand written science, medicine, astronomy, poetry books of Islamic civilization since about 1000 years ago. Amazing location.
It was an amazing experience. The beauty and love put into the art, quilts, and other textiles were evident in each piece. The details were undeniably perfection. The vibrant colours, the subtleties, and nuances were captivating. There was an exquisite exhibit from Nova Scotia. The quilts tell a story and have a hidden message within the pattern. These codes of communication for enslaved people seeking freedom are also records of family history and a celebration of Black women and culture.

I had an absolutely amazing time at the King of the Bootleggers escape room. It was very immersive with the characters, costumes and great acting. The escape room was rather challenging, but not enough where you would be stuck or have a bad time. I will definitely be back to try out the other escapes. There’s also an opportunity for photos at the end with props which was great!
I visited the textile museum during the breath exhibition, which showcased contemporary artworks inspired by emotions experienced during Covid-19. I also enjoyed seeing the permanent collection of historical textiles from various cultures. However, I wish they had provided some information about the meaning and context of the temporary exhibits right next to the masks.
Sehr schönes Museum mit einzigartigen Lokomotiven. Der zu zahlende Bereich sollte nicht besucht werden, da hier für uns kein Mehrwert besteht. Der Außenbereich ist sicherlich das Highlight des Museums.

Pretty crowded, which is usual for tourist attractions. Would like to see it at night as well since it lites up when dark. Big plus is a portable toilets and the platform all around the square that allows to see the sign from top.

Was cool to see but so many homeless in the area trashing the little square many lights were burnt out in the sign that changed colors. But a neat experience I guess. I'd love to see the water lit up at night too!
Amazing slopes for tobogganing in this park. Super hilly area and so much fun for kids.

It was really nice. I went with my camp and we got to go earlier than opening time. It was very fun, we had a tour guide and we got to go inside the trains. We even rode the small train that goes all the way around. It was really exciting. Got to learn a lot obout past trains and can't believe the go train used be like 42 cents, maximum fare $2!!!!

Wow, this escape room was next level. No comparison to any others I've done before. The actors for King of the Bootleggers were just incredible. They really made the experience memorable, and the reason we want to return to do the others! Give it a try, it's great fun!
A fantastic little museum that is worth a visit! Features exhibits of textile art from around the world and a great selection of interactive craft activities as well as a fabulous library of books to dive into! Spend a rainy day with the kids here having fun and learning new things! Shoutout to the amazingly hospitable volunteer staff too!!

this is a really good way to spend an hour or so downtown. the tickets for students (with id) are 8 dollars, but I dont think it would be worth it to pay the full ticket price to see the inside since its quite small. there is a train simulator which was really interesting, but the best exhibits are outdoors which is free to see
Had a great time checking out the local shops. There are so many different food options to choose from. Everyone was very friendly.
Our family and several friends tried the escape room as part of a graduation party for my son. We had a mixed groups, some young, some older. Everyone was engaged and we all had a great time. We didn't quite make out in time 😢 but we came close! The live actors in the game really made a difference and added so much to the game. We will have to try again.
The museum has access to the external area, which is free, where you can see the old locomotives, climb them for photos, read about the history, observe the train parking sheds and the railway cabins.

The internal part consists of a small space with old parts and explaining a little more about the machines. For children and adults, it is still possible to go around the park with a small train and view all the points from it.

It's a short trip, but for those in the region it's worth including in the itinerary.
It is the unique museum. It is an amazing pace. Interesting and wonderful exhibitions. Great spaces with participating in the different master classes.
Kind and attentive staff. Unique gift shop.
Such an amazing museum. Not expensive. Always has new exhibits on that are fabulous. Realllllly friendly staff who are happy to give you more details AND if you like to learn hands on or love crafts there are always a million options. You can learn to weave or sew or collage with fabric. It’s so much fun! Great spot to go with a girlfriend, chat and craft. (After you look at all the amazing pieces in the museum for inspiration!)
Used to be a landfill in the 50’s but now is a very nice trail with alot of hard works from a very committed group of super volunteers (including myself) from Dont Mess With the Don

Went in to have a look as part of Doors Open. While the exterior is preserved well, the building has had to change with the times and many rooms modernized blandly for office use. Also many areas locked and not available for viewing. Rather than lamenting I suppose I should be glad that at least some of this historical building still remains in its former glory.

A beautiful park. Fields are fairly open with short trees or bushes. Lined with smaller white rocks and a fountain in-between the museum and the centre, this park is a nice visit and decent for a picnic.

No tables or benches however. There is little shade.

A small museum. The displays are not much and 30-45minutes is enough to walk through it. The most interesting item is the train demo. Admission is $10 for adult and I think it is a bit expensive in terms of the display volume and exhibit area size.

Usually not open to the public as it is actually an office space. However, I got a chance to visit during Doors Open Toronto 2023. The house looks nice from the outside with a pretty small garden. The first floor has been beautifully restored, and one can see the dining room and the study. However, all of the rooms on the upper floors and the basement are either empty or used as office spaces. It would have been nice if they preserved a greater part of the interiors and opened it as a museum. Nevertheless, I am glad to see the house overall being preserved and actively used.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Textile Museum of Canada, situated at 55 Centre Ave. Thanks to my Ontario Museum Association membership, I had the opportunity to enjoy free admission to this wonderful museum.

Although the museum may appear "small" at first glance, it actually houses three floors filled with captivating exhibitions. From special displays to small libraries dedicated to textiles, there is a wealth of knowledge and artistry to explore. The museum has thoughtfully curated spaces for hands-on workshops, allowing visitors like myself to engage with textile-based art crafts using free materials provided. It was a truly enjoyable and enriching experience.

One aspect that impressed me was the museum's commitment to embracing technology. They offer a phone application that provides audio introductions and access to various online resources. I took advantage of these offerings and was captivated by the fascinating videos featuring textile artists from different countries. These digital resources added an extra layer of immersion and piqued my curiosity even more, further fuelling my desire to visit the museum.

The Textile Museum of Canada seamlessly blends traditional exhibits with interactive elements and modern technology, making it an engaging destination for both textile enthusiasts and curious visitors. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and always ready to assist, ensuring a pleasant and educational experience.

I highly recommend the Textile Museum of Canada to anyone with an interest in textiles, art, and culture. With its diverse range of exhibitions, hands-on workshops, and innovative use of technology, this museum offers a unique and captivating journey through the world of textiles. Whether you are a seasoned art enthusiast or simply looking for a thought-provoking and enjoyable outing, this museum is a must-visit destination.
A chance encounter while visiting the city. An outdoor heritage museum that showcases some charming trains through the ages. A lovely outdoor display opposite the Rogers Stadium. A nice walk through the town that allows you to learn the history of each of them. The old station has been converted into a few popular restaurants and bars, which is quite lovely to catch a break, if you will. Otherwise, continue walking through the museum and be transported back in time.

This park is absolutely beautiful and worth the visit even if you don't visit the museum. The grounds are well managed which makes them pristine and beautiful.
Nice place where you can play any sports and disc golf is very famous here and also it has largest go karting track in Canada!!
I enjoyed visiting this museum. There are collection of textiles from different parts of the world: China, Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, Mexico, Canada, Philippine, Ukraine. There are weaving loom that you can enjoy using it. Very friendly and nice staff of the museum teach you how to use it. The library is one of a kind. Different sort of unique books related to fabric, lace, rugs, knitting, embroidery… are collected. I loved the book that has information about fabulous Persian Rugs. In the third floor there is a “refuse” collection that some talented artists converted waste to beauty items. You should definitely go and visit it. I liked it
Great tobogganing, it was cloud and wind but you will be some much 🤩 fun! Love this place.
There’s another higher hill at the same park, the park is big. This one is close to Eglinton Ave W and Centenial park boulevard
Very nice place, only problem with parking lots, some traffic to come and out from the parking.
I absolutely loved this museum. Although the collection is relatively small for such a large space, it is very well curated. The Hidden Stories, Silk Road exhibition was very good. Well worth the trip to the museum.

Although the location of the museum is off the beaten path, it is easy to get to (just off of Eglinton and the DVP), I am unsure how easy it would be to access on public transit.

That being said, take your time and read about the role of Islam through the centuries. Many lovely pieces including decorative arts, rugs and scripture/books in the collection.

This is a hidden gem in the city of Toronto.

I love this place and how it has a unique beautiful vibe, people come here for walk, meetup and photoshoots. There’s plenty of space for different outdoor activities for public free of charge. You need permit if you want to bring professional lightening equipment to take photos and it’s quite expensive to shoot inside the museum, which people do for weeding and special occasions. This place was the life of Wynford area before the pandemic, there was events and fun programs every week and the museum was open to public for free ones every summer..
Great for hiking solo or running, best for biking. Definitely not for strollers.
Narrow trails all the time. Muddy after a rain fall.
Constant ups and downs.
I heard a wildlife in the bushes but didn't face it.
I parked my car by the Loblaws.
No need for tickets, access for free.
Great for young kids. Does not compare to tobogganing off the ski hill (after hours).
Place had decent amount of people enjoying the two hills. One is more steeper and understandably had slightly older crowd. Please remember to bring your own toboggan. It's a public Hill so you're also responsible for your equipment and safety.
Nice slope, well spread out to allow social distancing although it does get crowded giving the location. Plenty of parking. But it is better to go early if you need the best spot.
Great hill for family sledding. There's two slopes. One slightly steeper and the other for younger children.
Beautiful trails in dense forest, right in the middle of the city. The trails are a bit narrow, and are also shared by bikes, so bit careful. A bonus: abandoned railway track.
Perfect location to launch a mountain bike adventure. The summer riding is amazing. Don't mess with the Don is doing good work to maintain the area. Still a nice winter riding area. Upgrades to the trails are making a significant difference.
Beautiful trailhead hidden away in the busy city. The trees turn amber in late october and the forest turns golden. Saw a very healthy deer as well.
Blessed.

This is one of the places where I felt a state a tranquility with myself. I kept listening to soothing songs and felt connected with the ambience. I was going through something difficult. This place made me forget everything and smile. A lot of things became clear and I got answers from within myself. I'd always remember this place for the positivity it gave me when I needed it.
Great trails for not too fit people to enjoy some time outdoors in nature. A lot of people mentioned this but there are many mountain bikes that share the trails, so do be mindful of that and you won’t have any surprises! There was quite a bit of fungi growing along the trail when we visited in mid-October, which was interesting to see and not pick. If I was more knowledgeable, maybe I’d choose to come here to forage!
This is one of my favourite trails to go through in Toronto. It's easily accessible by transit, but once you're in the woods, you quickly forget the city. There are a couple of beautiful spots to sit and relax. There is also an area with several slopes to have some fun on your bike as well.

Just pay attention for cyclists and understand that we're all sharing the trail. They go pretty fast here but they also generally try to slow down for people walking. There are parts of the trail that is just barely wide enough for one person.
Not much to see here in comparison to other museums like Mackenzie House

It's a historical house yes, but most of the house is actually office space or an escape room game. There are two rooms downstairs, a rendition of George Brown's office/library and the dining room. It was not really what I expected when visiting the house. I expected more of a museum feel to it.
Escape room was a blast, not easy at all but a lot of fun
Went here for an escape room, it is by far one of my favorites because of how immersive and innovative the puzzles were!
The George Brown House was absolutely perfect for the wedding ceremony, giving us a beautifully decorated and cost friendly intimate space that still let us have our dream Victorian-themed wedding. The venue managers were very professional, quick to reply, and worked closely with us almost on a weekly basis to answer our hundreds of questions and ensure that our day would go as we planned. Being a national heritage venue does mean that there are several restrictions (e.g. limited candle usage, no confetti/rice, etc.), but these were things we could easily negotiate solutions to. Even on the day of, venue staff worked hand in hand with our wedding party to ensure a smooth rundown.
