I've only had them about 3 times. The first two times, the cookies were fresh baked and still warm. This last time, they were completely cooled and not soft at all. Slightly disappointed Unlike Levain, which I find delicious, cold, or warm.

The ice cream here is amazing and the service is always great. They have so many flavors to pick from too. I highly recommend trying them out.

So happy Ample Hills is back!! Made the trip to the Upper West Side to get my fix! The best ice cream I've ever had in NYC! I cannot recommend them enough!

Our go to branch is in London so we got curious whether the NYc branch is similar quality.

In Europe, ice cream serving staff goes through a 2 wks training, so we were told. Here not sure but the flower doesn't resemble anything which the brand stands for, pretty loveless the ice cream petals were clasped on.

In London the entire cone is filled with ice cream first before they apply the flower on top - irregardless any size ot cones you buy. Given what they charge here, you get a hollow cone and some ice cream on the top for a classic cone?! Pretty disappointing effort and a rip off.

The ice cream is also creamier in London - here tastes more watery. Not the same, won't return for more on this side of the lake.

My Carmel salted cookies was a bit hard. Not like the first time. the others were good though

It was just ok. Not bad but for this artisan gelato..Just ok..Yes it gets packed, long lines, popular spot BUT... I've had better.

My stellar recommendation is going to Ludlow Street( Manhattan ) and enjoying a sweet treat at " il Laboratorio del Gelato"

Very good gelato, many flavors to pick! Didn’t love the experience as the line was huge and not quick and the staff was not very friendly.

A bit pricy for what you get but I still think is worth it. If you have enough time to wait then come here and enjoy a good dessert!

Best gelato spot in town. Their Pistachio gelato is out of this world. Seller is amazing. She kept giving us samples even though we didn’t ask. 10/10 service. Recommended to come around 11 AM because there’s no line and no customers at all. Has restroom so that’s also a plus.

The guys behind the counter are really nice at this ice cream shop that's been in its current location for about 4 years or so according to one of the guys there.

A $6 medium cup can get you three flavors. I chose cookie monster, pistachio, and cupcake. Each flavor was really good. I think the Pistachio was the best of the three.

I noticed they also have soft serve, so I'll have to give that a go and compare it to Carvel in my mind.

Open late, quick to serve, and short lines. I'll be back.

This place only has a multitude of 5 star reviews because if you leave one you get a free topping. It is certainly not worthy of any stars.
The staff is extremely rude. When someone mentions “creamy ice cream” in a review they must mean melted ice cream. Both the soft serve and hard ice cream are always liquid. The taste isn’t great either.
To top it off, they got rid of their punch cards and raised prices. It only does well because it’s the only ice cream spot on York in the area. You’re WAY better off walking one avenue up to Sedutto which is actual good ice cream and friendly staff.

I’m so happy it’s back! This place has legendary ice cream and the flavors and concoctions are unique. Come in for a cold scoop on a hot day.

The first time I tried to come to this gelato shop there was a line all the way outside. That told me that if people were willing to wait on line from outside it has to be a good place to get gelato. A good place is an understatement! When I saw all the flavors I was so overwhelmed. I wanted to try them all. I bought a medium cup with three flavors. I tried the strawberry, Salted mascarpone with chocolate crumble, and Banana split. All of them were super yummy. It was smooth and creamy. The shop was so lively because people from all over came to get gelato. I was dying to try the macadamia cream but that’s for next time! Lol! There will be a next time because this is one of the best places in New York to get gelato.

It’s good but not brilliant ice cream. Two scoops 9 usd. I had strawberry and vanilla. It’s not as good as Italian ice cream. The vanilla little bland I felt (irony I know). The strawberry was good but lacked punch. In the kingdom of baskin robbins etc this is a fantastic place. I would highly recommend it if you were up town.

Loved this place! Delicious gelato and sorbet, beautifully presented, at a reasonable price. I had a large cone with stracciatella gelato and blood orange and lemon sorbets. It was all delicious and felt light - doesn't make you feel gross after eating it. They shape the flavors together into a flower on the cone. Will definitely be coming back to try some other flavors!

Retro place, nice ice cream-alot better than the overpriced ice cream trucks. Sef works really hard. Tip him and another tip it has a bathroom.

Me and my wife love pinkberry , we have been going to different ones around the city since we was about 17-18 we are both 27 now and still crave pinkberry once in a while . Their flavors are amazing and its always a small spot to chill and converse. The employees behind the counter are always nice in each one we have went so far including this one. One thing i will say is that the floor was a bit dirty which something im not use to seeing in the many pinkberry’s i have been to but overall it was great .

Oh my God!! Their mochi ice cream are heavenly! I tried the vegan ones - passionfruit, lychee and coconut - I loved the coconut one! The Lychee was good too and passionfruit my least favorite (mind you, it was still good!). Armed with a lactaid, I braved the Habanero Chocolate one as it just stood out as a flavor! Oh, it was worth it! It had a nice kick of spicy and was delicious. I’m glad I listened to the lady at the counter and tried the habanero one first before compensating with the other sweeter mochi ice cream! 🙂 Would I recommend the habanero chocolate one? Definitely!

Over priced, not worth really, but maybe worth at least one visit to try some new flavors only found here. Some classic flavors seems like the ice cream inside the dough was the same.

During a recent visit to Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, I decided to have a make-your-own sundae experience. The concept was, allowing me to choose my own 2 flavours and 3 toppings. However, while the ice cream itself was of good quality, I found the overall experience to be a bit too sweet for my liking.

For my sundae, I opted for two scoops of ice cream: Big Face Coffee Affogato and Dark Chocolate Fudge Brownie. The Big Face Coffee Affogato had a strong coffee flavor that I enjoyed, and the Dark Chocolate Fudge Brownie was rich and decadent. Both flavors were well-executed, and the texture of the ice cream was smooth and creamy.

Moving on to the toppings, I added toasted walnuts, hot fudge, and chocolate sprinkles to my sundae.

I appreciated the quality of the ingredients used by Van Leeuwen Ice Cream. The flavors were distinct and true to their descriptions, and the ice cream itself had a luscious texture.

Yum yum!! Tastes like ice cream without feeling terrible from the calories. I love their cake flavor, caramel, strawberry and plain, and love that you can select your own toppings in the amounts you want. Highly recommend! Also no line!

I had been hearing the good things about this place for a long time from Instagram and my friends. I happen to be near Amsterdam area and I saw this restaurant and wanted to give it a shot. I purchased a box of 6 cookies and honestly they were so delicious . These cookies were the best cookies I ever had. Now about the restaurant even though it was small but clean and well maintained. The cashier was so frequently that the menu for cookies screen was malfunctioned but she was reading the entire cookies menu to each customer with so much passion and love. I would highly recommend this store if you around the area.

Really enjoyed the mochi ice cream bites we got from Mochidoki. We didn’t know what to expect when we walked into the store but was pleasantly surprised by the flavours offered. The prices were higher than what we would have liked but worth the try for sure. They also offer matcha drinks which we are definitely going back to try.

What took us so long to visit this restaurant! It is small with a lovely indoor seating area, but we opted to eat outside. The outside area is small, but on lovely nights it is nice to have the light breeze.

We ordered 2 pizzas (The Diavola and The Norcina) and they tasted so good. Wood burning fire place just makes the difference. The red pizza sauce has great flavour, and the pizza crust was great! Near the centre of the pizza it is a lot softer, but did not bother me at all.

The pasta bolognaise was also delicious. They do not skimp on the meat or flavour like other places. And the pasta was cooked ever so slightly above al dente. They also bring fresh parmesan and fresh pepper table side in case you want some.

We also had the panna cotta for dessert with a drizzle of caramel. A light dessert to end the meal.

My only suggestions would be (if I am being picky)

1. The bread, although fresh, you can tell it was sliced and sitting out a bit

2. The spices oil for the pizza was clogged so nothing really came out, and what did was very bland.

Definitely still worth the stars! A very enjoyable evening and meal!

Came here for a sweet treat on a warm day and left so happy! It’s really cute inside with mint, pink, and gold decor. They have so many bright lights and tons of places for photo ops. I tried two flavors of gelato before deciding what I wanted and the server was really nice. I got the regular cup (smallest size they have) and you can choose up to 2 flavors to go in it. I got the pistachio and the chocolate pistachio. The pistachio flavor was just so delicious. So rich, light, and creamy. It was a dream. The chocolate in the chocolate pistachio was also so good! It kind of tasted like a really great Nutella (so prob a European one!). It came with a wafer on top and I am proud to say I finished every bite. It was a generous amount of gelato!! I wish they had one size down to be honest because it was just too much at once. It’s also pretty pricey at almost $10 for the regular cup but I think it was definitely worth it. I’ll definitely be back. Enjoy!!

Found this spot after reading the reviews. I was visiting Central Park and hopped a bus to give it a try. Worth it! I tried Brownie Fudge kiddie cone? I think I ordered it wrong judging by the look the guy gave me 😂🤣. I sat out front and enjoyed my cone.... Then went back for another 🤔. I'm an ice cream lover and I approve of this place.

Great place, delicious gelato! The place is very appealing to the eye. The young lady behind the counter was fantastic! She offered us so many flavors to try, and it made it hard to decide! Listen, pinkberry has been apart of my life since 2010 and I have YET to be disappointed! My alll time go to is the hazelnut flavor! My son also LOVES this place ! Deff a must got if you want a quick cold froyo.

We loved the variety of flavours and vegan options at Van Leeuwen! We went on a Tuesday and to our surprise, they offer one free topping on Tuesdays so definitely recommend stopping by on Tuesdays!

Both the creamiest and best tasting ice cream I’ve personally had. On top of that, the flavors are original and work well versus some of the “desperate to go viral” ideas from competitors. Pricing was and portions were the best among competition, though they unfortunately seem that they’re out of business now. I would easily pay 50% more for their portions and still find it a fair deal considering the quality. There was also never a long wait or line and the space was large and not cramped like the competition a couple blocks away. Hope to see them back open at some point.

Amazing gelato! So many flavors and for the smallest size you get a huge portion. The employees were really friendly and we were greeted right away when we walked in. The regular gives you two flavors, but I went with the chocolate hazelnut for both. We also had another regular with caramel cheesecake crunch and a cookies flavor, I don’t remember the actual name. The chocolate hazelnut and caramel cheesecake were delicious! So good and really creamy. We weren’t huge fans of the cookie one, and looking back it would have been best to try samples before ordering, but overall it was still very good.

There was a line out the door to the sidewalk when we arrived. The smell of fresh baked cookies lured us into the shop and waiting in line was worth it. The chocolate peanut butter cookie just melted in my mouth. What a special, delicious little treat.

The people in line were friendly, each talking about which flavor they were good to order. With almost 20 different options, everyone seemed to have a different favorite. Although a classic chocolate chip cookie seemed to be the consensus. I could feel the cookie anticipation!!! Delicious, you seriously have to try it for yourself 😊

I got the two vegan options available: chocolate and raspberry. And they paired perfectly! I added a sprinkle of all different kinds of toppings and sat down in their warmed AC with comfortable wall cushions to enjoy this treat. When I went, it was $0.82 per oz so I’d recommend the cookie dough and any of the airy crunchy options. Lay off the fruits and gummies since those are the heaviest.

Came home and looked at my second scoop of pistachios flavor and it wasn’t even enough for 2 bites. I saw the person struggle with the ice cream but I didn’t know if she just gave me whatever was left or it was too hard and she just gave up trying. Sometime vegan ice cream can get too hard. Very disappointed for 9.50

Dark chocolate fudge brownie was good. That I got a regular scoop

The food was delicious, the staff were attentive and friendly. We had the lasagna and the spinach ravioli, and the cheesecake with raspberry and mango sauce for dessert. Delicious and in a quiet, pleasant location. A hidden gem!

Great tasty ice cream. Their vegan options are also good. I had the vegan Dark Chocolate Brownie, was bit harder than I'm used to but it tasted good. The regular non vegan Praline Butter was nice and creamy without being too sweet. The place can seat 6 customers. They also make milkshakes and sell ice cream in pints

Tight space, slow line, ran out of a few items. Other than that it’s the perfect tiny ice cream shop. Great for gram and go with their pre packed flavors. They also have colorful seating if you’d like to stay and enjoy your ice cream with your family or friends. They also offer free first toppings on Tuesday if you are in the area during the week.

When we first heard Ample Hills was moving to the UWS, we were SO excited. Ever since the opening day, our family can’t get enough. We find ourselves visiting at least once per week and loving every flavor we try. The staff is always friendly and fun, making this a weekly (or more) staple!

This place is near Lexington avenue and it’s really nice. Kinda small, well kept. We got a bunch of mixed flavors and they have both vegan and non vegan options. I really like the vanilla chip flavor. Def recommend.

They have more than 50 flavors available in addition to what's on display at the front. They also sell other famous local brand ice cream in pints (like tipsy scoop and blue marble). Some of the flavors really stand out, like cheesecake, butter pecan, maple walnut, cafe espresso. It's very creamy and not too sweet. There are other flavors I sampled but are on the sweeter side (salted caramel, chocolate).

The staff is not as enthusiastic or welcoming as other local ice cream shops but friendly and patient enough. I guess he's just shy:) also the price is fair! ($4 kid size $6 small size)

Insomnia cookies smells like heaven. The chocolate chunk cookie is my favorite and it goes well with the chocolate ice cream. One thing I do not like about this location is the fact that they almost never have the bite size chocolate chunk cookies. Why offer that on the menu if you never have it!?

Horrible Experience!!! We went literally 30 mins before they were closing and all the toppings were covered and put away! Thankfully the flavors were still functioning but omg they had like 3 toppings out and were so hesitant to let us try the others. I mean… it’s a FROYO place and people go here to get froyo and have some toppings also but yeah the workers were so eager to leave so pro-tip - do not go before they close because you won’t get anything!

The number of fabulous flavors is incredible. Thankful to have a taste or two to help me decide what to get peanutbutter vanilla, pb pie, and s'mores were all rich in flavor and great consistency. Loved every drop!! Can't wait to go back to try more. Also I'll have to try one if the fantastic special cones! Very professional person waited on me.

Vegan ice cream is just amazing!!! My favorite is the Peanut Butter Brownie Honeycomb available for scoops in their storefronts or in pints in the supermarket. I was so excited to eat it, I forgot to take a pic! We go often, so ill try to remember for next time. My husband likes the Pistachio.

I've had them all. Really can't go wrong. The vegan sundae with hot fudge a whipped cram is to die for. We come here a lot when we are in the city and always have pints in the freezer.

Incredible ice cream served by friendly staff. They gave us 2 extra cones with our cup of sorbet and filled our water bottle with ice water. Go on topping Tuesday for your first topping for free.

The pistachio was flavourful and the strawberry crème is just as you’d want it. They used a really large cone for my 2 scoops so I guess I got lucky!

I started off my Van Leeuwen experience a little skeptical because I’m not used to paying $8+ for a single ice cream cone, but dang my dark chocolate fudge brown waffle cone was delicious. I was thinking it for days after.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Tried five different kinds. They were all great. I’m just surprised that they don’t have coconut ice cream.

There are million flavors at this ice cream shop! The price point is very reasonable compared to its competitors. Tastings available. Kiddie sized cup available and a good portion. The ice cream was creamy and rich and not too sweet. I will definitely be back!

This is the best ice cream I’ve found in the city that I’ve tried (and I’ve tried a lot). The number of flavors is impressive but the texture and actual flavor of each one was amazing. I’ve found that a lot of ice cream scoops end up just tasting like vanilla ice cream with some mix ins - not here!! I got hotel black bottom pie (rum based with graham crackers) and s’mores, both were incredible. Scoop sizes are big and the price is very reasonable. This is worth the trip and line.

Insomnia cookies are a spot and hit the spot! Great staff and fresh cookies. They were attentive to us and got us the right combo they needed despite being busy with deliveries. They acknowledged us right away and we’re fresh and tasty. Definitely should stop in if you need a late night dessert. 🍪 😎

A staple dessert on the upper east-side. Rain or shine, morning or night, there’s always a line for this neighborhood spot. The flavors are on the sweet side for gelato, but staff are friendly and the environment is warm and welcoming. Make sure not to skimp on the wafers for the extra crunch.

I don't understand how I had never heard of Van Leeuwen Ice Cream before... I mean, i never paid attention to it cause I'm sure I have seen the pints but simply ignored them.
Although, I think it would have been better if I'd ignored them forever.

I'm a HUGE fan of cookies and cream, and that's what I went for, I had 2 scoops on a waffle cone, one of "Cookies & Cream" and the other was "All the cookies". Let me tell you, they were soooooooooooo good!!!!!!!

Simply amazing and generous servings at standard prices ($10 for 3 scoops). Top 5 ice cream shops for me out of 40, I have been to in New York. They use real fruit for their fruit flavors and the flavors show that they use the real high quality ingredients. They also allow sampling and have a large selection (50 flavors including a few vegan).

They also sell soft serve, shakes, frozen yogurt, spiked ice cream and shakes, pints and sundaes. I got the blueberry, sea salt caramel and Milkyway. All of them were amazing and flavors were spot on even for the Milkyway (candy bar). The blueberry was my favorite and had real blueberry pieces and seeds in it. Sea salt caramel was a close second.

It is a 100 year old gem of an ice cream shop that doesn't also force you to tip and supports baseball. Strongly recommend.

Their everything bagel flavor is unique and delicious, the chocolate hazelnut has hazelnut chunks in it…. but the absolut winner is the earl grey flavor, I’ll be coming back for that!

Ortomare is One of our favorite restaurant in the city.The food is delicious,and the atmosphere is perfect.They had the perfect and yummy pasta and the staff is great and friendly. Thank you Aldo for the bests strawberry mojitos ever and Noe and Luis for the best food 🥰

If you can make it for the Weekend Brunch (12-4pm) by all means do so. The Steak & Eggs were well presented and tasty. The service was excellent. They also have a cocktail called COVID Vaccine (the FDA may not have given it Emergency Use Authorization but I did for myself).

With fine desserts like Panna Cotta and Wood Fired Pizza available, children can enjoy coming here as much as adults.

Frozen yogurt was excellent. Service was acceptable. My suggestion would be to have a team member clean off the tables every once in a while. I have been here several times and the tables seem like they are always dirty.

They have multiple locations throughout New York and I believe they are continuing to expand throughout the country. And for good reason too! The flavor is so rich and they use high quality ingredients to really make their ice cream shine. The atmosphere of the storefront we went to was bright, bubbly, and welcoming. The only thing I didn't like was the black on the ceiling near the vent as you can see in the pictures. Was a bit of a turn off. The service is counter service and was friendly and helpful. I will be looking for this ice cream shop while traveling the country because it's too good to pass up! Definitely recommend this ice cream shop.

I got a homemade waffle cone with one scoop of Marion Berry Cheesecake ice cream and my wife got a scoop of Brown Sugar Cookie Dough Chunk in a cup. When we ordered, we were told by the cashier that it was Topping Tuesday and that we were able to get one free topping of our choice for each of our ice creams! We had no idea and there wasn't any signs that said that so it was very nice of her to mention that to us! I also got whipped cream on my cone and my wife got Honeycomb Candy bits on hers. To start, my ice cream was amazing! For those that don't know, Marion Berry is a type of Blackberry so it was essentially blackberry cheesecake ice cream but it was so fresh! Tasted like they threw in the while cheesecake and mixed it with their vanilla ice cream. The ice cream base was rich and had swirls of Marion Berry with little chunks of graham cracker crust throughout. The waffle cone that it came in was also fantastic. You could tell it was homemade and not the generic waffle cones that every other ice cream place offers and it's worth the work because the texture was perfect, the spices and vanilla in it was there and you can taste them. The only minor gripe I have is that the whipped cream just tasted like... Whipped. Cream. No sugar or vanilla. I'm not sure if they missed adding that or if that's how it is but definitely not my favorite whipped cream but I appreciate that it was free and homemade. My wife's ice cream was delicious as well with rich brown sugar flavor and a decent amount of cookie dough chunks throughout. I liked her Honeycomb crunch topping that she had on it because it was basically crystalized honey that added a nice crunch texture to the ice cream but also had delicious flavor.

Overall, with the stellar service, cute atmosphere and mind bending ice cream, this is a shop that will forever leave an impression in my mind as one of my favorite ice cream shops in the country so far. Their popularity proves that their doing something right. The price isn't unreasonable considering the quality so try them out!

If youre looking for a sweet snack this is the spot to go to because youll pay by the weight and you can mix and match your own flavors/toppings. There isnt outdoor seating, or a nearby area thats useful, but theres a small indoor area.

All types of cold sweet yummy stuff. You can get something different each and every time u enter. You won’t be bored, and their always pushing something new and yummy. They’re doing something new with waffles but I didn’t have time to try it. I will next time and I’ll do a update on it. Eh, I got the mango and it was WAY too sweet to be mango, it was also kinda expensive

My Nieces convinced me to try frozen yogurt. For it being the first time trying yogurt, not bad. The cookies and cream taste like ice cream. The toppings just added to the taste. I like fact you can sample the different varieties before you buy.
