The lower falls are a short hike away and worth seeing, the main falls are just down a path from the parking lot.

Its a 10km of natural trail with a diverse population of birds. There are some amazing views of Toronto skyline around the corners. It is really a popular escape into the nature in the middle of the city.

These are dirt trails and includes some steeo sections and is rated as intermediate level trails.

There are other trails around to explore as well like the Sun Valley Trail and the Cottonwood Flats Trail. You could see the pictures uploaded along with the review. I have covered all these trails along with the Lower Don Parklands.

Parking is available with the Loblaws and Starbucks. There are restrooms you can use there or buy something to eat on your trail.

Dogs are allowed. Trails are suitable for all age groups be it children or elders or even older people. There are bike trails also available. You could see the dog walkers along the trail. The Don river just gives a picturesque landscape to the whole trail. There are hills and trees all around. There is an abandoned railway line bridge on top of the river with some cool graffiti.

It is also known for mountain biking. So get your MTBs and helmets and get set going. Overall, it was a nice experience and we did this in fall. Can't wait for the spring to go there again for all the colors.

Thanks and share the review with your friends if you like it. ☺️
Nice area. Good paths nearby. Stairs are a good workout

Mill creek connects to Edmonton’s river valley and offers a diverse network of paved, bike/off road, and hiking trails. You don’t feel like you’re in the city!
Nice area. In the middle of the city

Great scenic stop just off the main road. We visited in Winter and the trail and stairs were super slippery. Proper footwear or spikes would be highly recommended.

This was a great little spot in city... Large ominous area of trees chopped down with big hills beavers would go NUTS if they got a hold of all that. .. some brick oven I see why they call it an oven if u know wat I mean ... Saw some remains of children toys ... Sacrifice? Hopefully nor 😊

Lots of cute trails, easy and leveled. The water makes it pretty. Download your maps, their instructions are a bit misleading.

Well worth a stop to see the stunning river and falls. Amazing seeing how the rocks have been worn away. Great walk to the lower falls with some stunning woods.

Lovely place for a walk along the Don River
been fishing here, saw some slavs fishin as well and prob munchin 'em. Caught spotted trout.
Pretty busy stairs depending on the time of day. People are often using them to workout. Good amount of stairs to run up and down if that’s what you’re looking for. I have never had an issue finding parking at the bottom of the stairs, it’s harder to find parking around the top of the stairs
The loop took us approximately 1 1/2 hours to complete. We began our journey by heading counterclockwise, first reaching the Fifth Lake. The trail posed a moderate challenge, initiating with a steep ascent followed by navigating through a valley and over a ridge before descending into the Valley of Five Lakes. Initially, the trail was well-maintained, but as we progressed, it became rockier with numerous tree roots protruding. Given its popularity, we encountered many other hikers along the way. A highlight was discovering a pair of red Adirondack chairs situated between the Fourth and Third lakes, offering a delightful spot to unwind and soak in the scenery.
Beautiful place, gorgeous falls and an amazing naturally formed ogre face in the stone
I love to go here. This is being in the country.
while you are in the city .
There are wildflowers, wild animals, bumblebees and butterflies. These wetlands and this River desperately needs to be conserved as environmental biodiversity thrives here. The meadows have many pollinators. Humans may visit here but need to respect that many other non- human families live here and that this is their territory. Construction needs to stop . Nature and wildlife must always come first before humans and development.

We stopped at Sunwapta Falls driving back home in Calgary after an overnight stay in Jasper. First thing, the toilet was impressively impeccable! Being there after a recent snowfall turned the falls into beautiful ice sculptures that made our short stop there a memorable one

Very pretty frozen. Hike on to Big Bend was nice in the snow but we didn’t get all the way as we found some bear tracks

We went hiking here and liked some of the parts of the trail (foresty, shady); other parts were not so nice - just gravelly roads.

There are several levels of trails, mainly designed for biking.

Parking lot is big, however, it says it’s for Loblaw’s customers only.

No restrooms available.

Great, paved, easy walking path. Only one section with a hill. Can park at moccasin trail park
The walk only becomes interesting once you arrive at the first lake. The path is narrow but good. Sometimes close to the lakes, sometimes a bit higher up. What makes it beautiful is the green-blue color of the lakes and the fact that you have a view on the surrounding mountains. The walk is fairly easy (162 meters elevation gain - 4,5 km)

I am mobility challenged, so generally waterfalls are inaccessible to me anymore, but this place is an easy wall to see both the upper and lower falls. Obviously the more complex, strenuous hike will get you the better views, but even the easy wall gets you some great pictures!

Great trail, not many cyclists as the West Don. This trail is on the East Don River in the Charles Sauriol Conservation Area. The paved trail is great for bird, fish and mammal watching. Parking is busy on autumn weekends and closed over winter.
Beautiful moderate hike. Around 4km and 150m ascent. Worth the hike with the beautiful 5 lakes.

Roaring waterfalls along Alberta 93B South. There is plenty of parking, put toilets and garbage cans all along. The falls are at lower elevations than the parking lot. These falls are very famous and almost all who visit JNP visit this place. Lookout and photo taking place can get a little crowded. There are plenty of trails to venture off to different viewpoints of the falls. These falls are again on the path of the Athabasca river and are just a few mins down the highway from Athabasca Falls. The views are jaw-dropping, and the volume is intense.

Nice trail with excellent views. Easy walk that anyone can do. Give it a try and you will agree!
We hiked to the second (third?) lake and back. 7 hours total time with 600+ metres of elevation gain (and descent of course on the way back down).
The trial starts off innocently enough - maintained trail, gentle slope, easy route finding but lots of mud and roots. Stays like this for about 2 km to the first lake. Then the trail skirts the lake over some rocky and less well maintained trail for about another km until it veers left at the end of the first lake.
The easy part is now over. The trail now climbs straight up past the first waterfall. You can navigate through the rock fields on the right to avoid the scramble through the bush but there are no trail markers. Once you are past the first waterfall and until you reach the second much smaller lake near the main waterfall there is lots more elevation gain through never-ending fields of rock that can be difficult to find your way through. There are cairns to help guide you at times, but they are not always obvious. Once you get up level with the base of the main waterfall the trail turns into a scramble route straight up a steep loose rock slope for about 200 meters in elevation gain over about 300 metres distance. After you make your way to the top of this section, the trail cuts right across the top of the rock slope and heads up towards the high point. From here the third lake comes into view quickly on your right and lower down. Another km over more shattered rock will take you to to the camp site at the other end of the lake.
As others have said before - please for the sake of your dog don’t bring them past the first lake. It would be extremely difficult for any breed.

These falls are always worth pulling over and taking a check during winter or summertime. The quiet during the winter is nice, but so is the summer when the power of the river is doing its thing. I've been here many times over the years but I'll never drive by without going for a walk on the multiple bridges over the falls. I promise you won't regret the stop 💯.

Tempat nya menyenangkan untuk jalan, pemandangan nya indah ke sungai, jika musim dingin di tutup akses nya
Went hiking there a few weeks ago, I have to say, this is breathtaking! The water was clean and swimmable in! The hiking trails were pretty good during dry days, but I could imagine during rainy days that it would be rough!

It's free to hike around there, there’s ample parking, map, and directions!

Recommended to ensure bring bear spray, tons of water, and bug spray for safety.
Unfortunately the trail is temporarily closed due to maintenance work

Really nice easy trail that leads you to the Rainbow Tunnel. Well paved and nice for walking and biking that’s pretty flat the entire way
A beautiful track about 5 km long that passes between five beautiful and clear lakes. The route is not difficult except for a few sections where you have to climb a bit. To get to the entrance to the track, drive from Jasper on the Glacier Highway (Route 93) towards Lake Louise, one km after the entrance gate of Jasper Park you will pass a bridge and about half a km after it will be the parking lot from where the track will start. Lakes 3,4,5 are more beautiful in my opinion and it is worth spending more time in them, therefore, we followed the route in the opposite direction and devoted more time at the beginning to these lakes. All the lakes are beautiful and well worth doing the route.

Another nice piece of connecting trail that runs along the river and is well paved for walking and riding as well.
Long stairs, pretty iconic as you see it from the LRT and the High Level Bridge. Great view at the top overseeing the river and the campus skyline. I go here for climbing stair workouts and it’s quite nice. If you need steeper stairs, there is the second half of this stairs, but there is ~2 steeper stairs in the area.

The East Don trail phase 2 is an easy trail if you follow the paved path. But there are paths made by people which can be moderate to hard. The Don river gives some nice views if you know where to look and during the summer months you can see large fish swimming upstream.

Love coming here as it's the closest off leash park near me but it's still really nice to go to. It's a great walking area and it's nice that there are a lot of places to park around it's various entrances. Plenty of garbage bins also make it that there's not much of bags laying around. Looking forward to when the trails are fully dry and the hot summer days so the dog can go for a swim.

My favourite local nature trail. Beautiful trail for families and solo walkers and bikers. Surrounded by natural beauty and woodland critters. You can see the salmon run in the fall and many up close sightings of deer prancing around. It’s my favourite place right in the city but totally hidden from traffic. Good place to bird watch as well. Love!

Amazing trail for people and pets. For small-dog owners, please realize there are coyotes around and treat this place like the wild. Lots of great people here and happy dogs! A place to get away from the craziness of city life and reconnect with nature.
We hiked the longer loop, going entirely around all of the lakes, and the outside of lake one. It was approximately 9 kms. A stunningly beautiful hike with views of all the turquoise coloured lakes. We did it in early October with absolutely perfect fall weather! I highly recommend this moderately easy hike. It’s close to Jasper townsite, with lots of parking, toilets at the trailhead, and well marked trails.

Ample amount of parking next to Loblaws. The trail consist of narrow pathways, up and down trails and lots of shaded areas. There were a lot of bikers along the path but everyone was courteous to just move to the side. There are a lot of pathways that bring you back to the beginning.

It’s even more beautiful during the fall!

Overall, enjoyed it.

5star* the best, the toughest and the roughest MTB trail in Ontario. So many trails to explore on both sides of the cliff. It will take a few hours or days to experience all of them.

Crothers Woods - Beautiful in the Spring and Fall

This wooded trail is perfect for hiking during the spring/summer and fall seasons.

There are trails for walking and biking but be careful of bikers. The trails are hilly.

In the fall, you see a canopy of leaves above you and you walk in a canopy of fallen leaves. It is perfect for those looking for fall photographs.

This ravine is very safe and full of people on the weekends! Especially in the summer. I wouldn’t recommend going down there at night with all the coyotes but its a great place to go walking!
The most beautiful trail I saw in Jasper! The Five Lakes are very beautiful, each a slightly different blue. They perfectly reflect the sky and the trees if you go at the right time (we had gone around 4pm).

The trail is 2-3 hrs long, and moderate in nature.

There is also a chance in see bears on this trail - we also saw two bears on the bridge at the start of the trail.

Usually go here to start biking down the trails and it’s always nice. People on the trails are always very pleasant and seem good spirited.
The City of Toronto often posts signs that say, "No winter maintenance. Use at own risk." Well that does not deter us does it, from enjoying walks, runs, skis or bike rides outdoors in crisp winter air and sparkling landscapes. Dress appropriately, watch your step and have fun!

All my shots of January 2022 are north of the path split for the Bestview Park trails.

Enjoyable year round, good times outdoors.
This trail has a very high popularity among hikers, bikers, and nature lovers. Towards south, running along the Don River, it reaches Finch Avenue East and beyond. Along the way, one can sit on a bench near the river and enjoy sounds of nature. Northwards, it crosses North York Bike Trail, which runs east-west. At this point, a number of possibilities open up. You may walk in either direction on the bike trail, or continue northwards where, beyond Cummer Avenue, it merges with the Bestview Hiking Trails leading to Bestview Park. After crossing Cummer Avenue, a trail branches out towards east and goes up to Leslie Street. As you cross Leslie Street, you will find entrance to the Duncan Creek Trail, which ends at the Duncan Creek Park near Don Mills Road.
Following are two views of the North York Bike Trail near the point where it crosses the Upper Don Recreation Trail.
Easy fall hike, lots of rocks around the campsite.

It is a nice single lane scenic bike path that twists and winds its way either up or down this hill depending on what direction you are headed. With loads of trees it can provide for a nice quick get away. It can get pretty muddy after it rains or the snow melts so be warned.
Nice park

Beautiful, newly constructed trail.
It features some nice sloped roads throughout the trail for those who want a bit more excitement than the average trails you find in urban parks.
Amazing area and trails. Love all of the sights and although the trails can be challenging it's worth the trip just for the views. You can enter from Beechwood Drive and if the gate is open across the road there's parking at the bottom. We hiked in two different directions from the Beechwood and Crothers Woods sign and it was so nice out. Nice to see the Don River frozen over and interesting as it never seems to freeze over closer to the city.
Lots of ducks along the way and they seem to enjoy sitting on the ice and jumping into the water occasionally. Great area for families, children and we even passed a family with a 4x4 stroller.
Many bikes passing us even though the trails were covered in snow. People jogging, walking and bird watchers. Many dogs out enjoying time with there humans. Overall very interesting area and nice sights.

Beautiful scenic trails with access to the creek for your dog. Lots of treed shaded areas. This is a multi-use park even in the off leash dog area, so it's a bit uncomfortable having your dog off leash with bikes on the same path.

Deep slot of a canyon with lots of hidden caves. Go left for a few hundred meters on top of the ridge and you’ll see what I mean. After you climb around the canyon bottom do the ridge hike, you won’t be disappointed. The ridge provides beautiful views and a hidden waterfall.
The terrain up top near the falls can be treacherous use extreme caution as someone has fallen to their death in recent years. There are plenty of bears in the area so bring some spray! I don’t recommend hiking in so bring 4 wheel drive with a lift as the ruts are deep and filled with water. From the interpretive sign at the end of the road give yourself at 3-4 hours to do the canyon and ridge to take it all in.
This place has been shared by generations of my family and others, therefore needs to be respected So please do!! Local ranchers lease the land and there are horses grazing along the road. Close the gates behind you and again please be respectful.

It was great!
Every time I try to explain how great my experience there was, I end up writing a 10 pages long journal. so,,, I will keep it short. If you like thrills, go there at night without planning your hike and with only a picture of really rough topography map of the trail in your phone with 15% charge. oh, make sure to bring an optimistic hiker who had never done back country hiking and don't even know about cairns. Then, you will have full of "surprises" when you hike back in daylight :) Again, I really enjoyed hiking here.
An amazing trail for people with moderate route finding skills and hiking ability. I would rate the difficulty as medium depending on time of year. Drive up the forest road a few km until you reach the trail head and start from there. You may need a high clearance vehicle to get to it. See if you can make it to the first campground for lunch past the 3rd lake!
