A really mixed bag of poor service, nice food and meat only fit for the dogs.
We arrived and were seated quickly which was good.
Drinks were ordered quickly and brought to the table by a lovely server. This was good.
We ordered our food and then waited over 25 minutes for them to be brought to the table. This was bad.
The squid was soft and tasty and the scotch eggs were good and bad… one was really tasty and the other seemed like it had been left under the lamps too long as the yolk was congealed and the dusting of chopped herbs looked dry.
When I asked the small chap serving us why it took so long and if he had something to say his replay was mumbled along the lines of “that’s just how it is… we’re really busy and have lots of reservations”
You’ll see from the pictures how busy it was!
That was the first “ugly” moment.

The roast dinners arrived and things looked up. Great looking yorkshire puddings that were clearly home made, lovely stacks of meat and roast potatoes on each plate. Then came the veg in plentiful supply, all cooked beautifully and presented well. My only question here is why the braised red cabbage? (Nobody ate it.)
The pork belly was pretty good if a little bland but the beef was so bad we ended up taking the meat back for the dogs… it was like eating chewy jelly and very poorly prepared. I’ve yet to hear if the dogs turned their noses up.

Time to leave… we asked for the bill… the same rather short and rude server came with the card machine asking me how we’d like to pay… I suggested he might like to show me the bill first as I’d like to see how much it was… he wandered off muttering.

If customer service isn’t his thing then I suggest he finds a different career path.

It was then left to his colleague to bring us the bill and after a conversation with the manager he was very open to a reduction in the bill for the poor service.

Possibly too open as we’d already heard another diner complaining about the same thing.

All in all I wouldn’t go back as there are far better options locally and I’d suggest you look elsewhere too.

Great pub. Nice welcome & bar staff
My dad suggested that we come here for the carvery lunch. We was not let down as we found the food very fresh and well cooked. The service staff were friendly and the venue seemed nice and clean.

We stopped while on a canal boat holiday and had our 2 year old grandson with us. The staff were very accommodating in seating us in an appropriate area where we wouldn’t feel we were disturbing other diners. However our grandson was very well behaved so it wouldn’t have been an issue. They were very attentive of him and they opened up the back exit when we left so we could get access straight to the towpath. The food was amazing and the service excellent.

My husband and I visited the birch on Saturday 14th October. It was our 51st wedding anniversary we had been to the birch on many occasions so thought it was a good idea celebrate there. When we got there we was fully expecting to be seated in the restaurant, instead we was given a table for 2 in the bar we asked to be moved to the restaurant and was told it was fully booked no one called us to say it was fully booked that evening. We waited for around 15min to be asked if we would like a drink felt as if we had been forgotten. We ordered our food which wasn't that great either we didn't have a sweet as I just wanted to go home. We asked the barmaid for the bill which showed a 10% surcharge which that was fine no problem the bill came to £78 we gave her £80 then she asked us if we wanted the change of course we said yes as we was paying the surcharge thought that was a cheek.
If I wanted a bar meal I would have gone to the local pub we paid restaurant prices to be sat in a bar.
Moral of this experience is check where you are sitting before you go. We won't be going back in a hurry.

Booked a table for 3.30 Sunday 15th October. On Arrival they couldn’t find the booking. Not a problem was shown to our seats waitress was lovely. Took drinks order some 30 minutes later still waiting. 45 minutes later was informed that a delay with carvery waiting for mash potatoes and new meat. Not a problem happy to wait. Unfortunately when we did sit to eat our dinner it was cold. Having heard good reports about their food was really looking forward to returning sadly it just didn’t seem like it had improved.

Don't go in to listen to quiz shows full blast. Myself and other tables moved away to quieter spots.
Waited 30 minutes in the restaurant to be acknowledged and no one was forthcoming so left.
Lovely building but shoddy service does it a disservice.
Come on St Austell you can do better.

The food was amazing, the steak was cooked to perfection, the lamb on the shank just fell off the bone, best bit was that it was mashed potatoes not instant mash, the gravey was just right! will definitely be coming back here again!

Beautifully restored building. Very comfortable and atmospheric. Good choices on evening menu. Nice meal with prompt friendly service. Stayed overnight on B&B basis. Good sized comfortable standard room and bathroom. Bathroom ready for upgrading/redecorating but more than adequate.
We didn't have any food, but ordered some nuts, egging was served warm.
The place is tastefully decorated. The lighting is spot on, not bright, but dim. The furniture's immaculate.

Went for Sunday lunch. Lamb was amazing, chicken was dry and stuffing was awful. Good selection of veg, generous portions and courteous staff.

Peter - update to your reply - yes, i think we would know if we were in the Wellington, lol, it must have beef that my friend had then. Thanks for the offer of a drink.
Went today for Sunday lunch with my dad, great food and excellent service. Highly recommend and big shot out to out to our lovely waitress Paige who was very friendly and helpful 😂. Will definitely be back. Many thanks

We cannot fault the food, atmosphere or the service. Top quality! Our favourite place to go for a special meal. Thank you to Nadiya today for being so accommodating.
Food was delicious, seriously those burgers are just too jiucy and to make it worse I poured my beef dripping onto the burger making it when messier 😂 but the taste was amazing, the steak was really good too. I've been here a few times and I have never once been disappointed. The service is top notch and you're never waiting long to get served, it's easy to get the attention of the wait staff and to be honest they are quite attentive so they will normally come to your table before being called. Don't think I can say a bad thing about it. The only caveat is that tall people will need to watch their head when walking into the pub it's a bit short. The atmosphere inside is soft and warm, it does hold the smell of scallops if someone orders them in the kitchen but I don't mind that smell, and to be honest is that's the only bad thing about it I think they are doing phenomenal, definitely staff here are top notch and the food is great quality and portion.
I visited this place a few times before but never in the lover area where the garden is. I could not fault the friendliness of the staff and their willingness to help and serve promptly. I could see the level of training and professionalism. We only had drinks not food but there is a.good menu too. Lovely place, hidden Gem in the heart of Camden

Although I have known of The Birch for many years, it's taken me this long to actually visit and I wish I had sooner. We went to celebrate my wife's birthday and it didn't disappoint..The food and service were impeccable. The service was friendly and attentive, never intrusive. The menu has something for everyone and there were also many additional dishes on the specials menu. Pricing is toward the upper end but appropriate for the level of quality on offer
We'll be coming back
again for sure

The staff really make this hotel. Every star I’ve awarded was for them and their helpfulness.

My issue is I believe some of the rooms to be grossly overpriced. I was visiting for a wedding and paid the same amount/more (£180) for my small double room as some of my friends paid for their large and vastly more luxurious rooms. I didn’t even have coffee making facilities. When I checked out, I wasn’t asked how my stay was, otherwise I would’ve brought this up.

Overall, the hotel/pub are cosy with lovely traditional features in some of the rooms. The breakfast was good, though my poached eggs were quite overdone.

The staff really are top notch and were so helpful taking my luggage up to my room when I checked in as I didn’t have time.

Had a delicious brekkie this morning at Princess of Wales out in the sunshine, was so good. But really have to commend the service. Really got taken care of by Ada (I think that’s her name). Really makes a difference getting such good service.

Great quality food. Here’s a pic or my £17.50 fish and chips so you can make your own judgement. Edit - having read the response, I should agree there was tartar sauce included and lemon which are shown in the photo. But still this photo that includes less than 10 chips is what was served.

The food was great, but what stood out was the service. Drink and food orders were taken quickly and we were regularly checked on throughout the meal. Everything came out promptly and tasted great.
The Crown is now the place to go in Stony, superb food & service, fantastic atmosphere, and now even amazing cocktails. Kelly the manager has an excellent team. Live music on a Sunday with the best roast dinners for miles around.
Food was good, however I ordered the pork and scallops, when I mentioned that the piece of pork I had was basically all fat and only had a very small piece of actual meat on it, the waitress just said ok I’ll let the chef know. Then I heard nothing afterwards, no mention if I wanted anything else, no apology, I was quite surprised and disappointed that I had essentially paid £22 for less than a slither of pork and 2 scallops. Overall, the service was fine besides this, it is a shame because the food is so nice.

A great pub, really unique and finished to a high standard. Fab variety of seating, booths, high backed chairs and comfortable chairs, so every table is a treat. A good sized beer garden too, with plenty of seating - if the weather stays dry enough to enjoy. I appreciated the choice of beers and there was a good selection of rose wines to choose from - a much better selection than the usual Zinfandel or Pinot Blush options. The whole pub was dog friendly, which is great for us, dog biscuits on the bar and a doggy menu too.
We heard several people checking in during our visit, and were interested that all rooms are dog friendly too. Hopefully we'll have chance to stay over next time.
Gorgeous old English building, with rooms above the pub. Great atmosphere in the pub and the rooms were clean with plenty of refreshments, tea/coffee making facilities. Staff were welcoming and helpful. We travelled with 2 kids (aged 1 and 4). The room was spacious even with the toddler bed and cot. Breakfast was delicious but a little on the late side for us at 8:30am (as our kids were up at 6:15am). All in all a great place to stay. Highly recommended!

Title: A Fantastic Experience at The Railway Pub in Teddington!

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Railway Pub in Teddington, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! From start to finish, everything about this place exceeded my expectations.

First and foremost, our waiter, Nick, was an absolute gem. His friendly demeanor and attentive service truly made our visit special. He went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed, making us feel right at home.

The food was a definite highlight of the evening. Each dish was bursting with flavor, clearly made with high-quality ingredients and a passion for culinary excellence. Whether you're a fan of traditional pub fare or looking for something more unique, The Railway Pub has a menu that caters to all tastes. The fact that they also offer a menu for dogs is an extra touch that shows their dedication to creating a welcoming environment for everyone, including our furry friends.

The mouthwatering dishes are absolutely top notch It's not just a meal; it's an enjoyable and memorable dining experience that you won't regret.

If you're in Teddington and looking for a place to enjoy fantastic food, outstanding service, and a cozy atmosphere, The Railway Pub should be at the top of your list.
Very dog friendly, giving out leaflets on dog friendly pubs in windsor.just had a drink.

Honestly I would leave 6 stars if I could! Visited The Red House for my birthday today, my husband and I went for the afternoon tea. We had never been before and I was surprised a place like this did afternoon tea but I couldn’t be happier we decided to give it a try! As soon as we walked in I loved the place, the atmosphere and decor were perfect. The service from Pedro was absolutely impeccable, he was accommodating to my dietary requirements as I’m currently pregnant and was so polite and friendly. He really went above and beyond. The food was absolutely delicious and you could tell the chef really cared about the food he served, even down to the quality of the chicken in the sandwiches. Top notch! We will definitely be returning and I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone! Thank you The Red House for giving me a fantastic birthday lunch! :)

Everything was as expected. The room was well furnished and the bed was comfy. There was some noise from outside earlier in the evening but that cleared up by about 11. The bar is well stocked with tons of choices. I had a sweet cider that was excellent. The fish and chips were top notch and a good portion size.

When we arrived we were told to follow a member of staff to our table.

He didn’t say hello or acknowledge us- just marched ahead and we followed.
He placed the menus on the table and just left.
Nobody came to ask us if we wanted drinks etc. We sat there reading the menus and waited whilst staff busily walked past. After 10 minutes, we had to call a passing waitress to order drinks.
She didn’t ask if we were ready to order food just went off.
Drinks came and again just left us and another 10 minutes passed and whilst other customers who came after us were served- we were left.
We ordered table water along with the wine but a bottle of water was brought and opened before we could say anything.
We didn’t want to stay for a dessert or coffee as we weren’t enjoying our dining experience.
When the bill came, I asked for the service charge be removed as we didn’t receive a good service from any of the staff.
When the new bill was brought by the manager he appeared miffed and just placed it on the table.
If that was me, I would of taken the opportunity to ask if we had a good meal etc
Staff seemed they didn’t want to give eye contact or be particularly friendly. The only one who did was the young lad at the bar who greeted us.
When two large parties arrived- staff were attentive including the owner- an obvious difference from the lack of service we received.
The food we enjoyed but that didn’t make up for the poor service.
We sent feedback directly to them but instead of any form of apology, received, via a phone call, a defensive, almost aggressive response, indirectly calling me a liar and almost our fault for turning up 20 minutes to early! The manager thought it was okay to talk over me and not listen but didn’t like it when I talked over him.
Shame he didn’t want to take the opportunity to apologise but obviously thought he was in the right

Jeremy, Paul Becky and Pete will be the absolute best people you could ever come across. Oh Al and Adam are brilliant too!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here it feels cosy, welcoming and friendly. The Private car park at the rear leads to the beer garden and rear entrance. The bar is spacious and offers all sorts of beverage. Waiting staff make you feel welcome and take time to run through whatever specials they have. The food menu has a good selection available but it does need far more veggie stuff. Food is of a good quality and served piping hot. Bedrooms are above the main bar but still remain quiet and cosy. Beds are super comfy too.

Really enjoyed my time at the Brunel . The guy who served me (Leon was his name I think) was really attentive and his cheerfulness rubbed off on us and ensured we enjoyed ourselves to the max.
A traditional market town establishment in a superb setting offering lovely competitively priced food and an extensive selection of drinks all served by friendly attentive staff.
Stacked with charm and character a must visit if you are in the local area. 👍
Visited with friends for a quick dinner. Food was fantastic. I had the fish and chips. Quiet atmosphere, could have done with some light music? Server was a pleasant chappy but forgetful, maybe new? 🤔.

Would deffo go back as it was all clean and friendly with good simple pub grub.

Good choice of beers and the service was efficient. Food was beautifully cooked, but I ordered the sea bass with prawns, which was only served with 3 chunks of courgette, one and 1/2 new potatoes and 4 cherry tomatoes. Now, I don't have a particularly large appetite ,but even I thought the vegetable accompaniment was severely lacking. My poor partner was really disappointed.

Lovely pub with a pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. Good quality food but small portions. Had crab to start and it was 3 tiny pieces of toast with crab on (£8-95). Main course of sea bass and prawns (£19-95) and it was very good quality but hardly any veg. 3 halves of small new potatoes and a couple of tiny slices of courgette. Didn't bother with a pudding as we thought they would be similarly small so just had a coffee. Had supper when we got home as we were still hungry.
My parents and I popped in with a last minute booking, to celebrate my graduation with a little dinner party. The venue was quite cozy, with low ceilings, warm lighting and comfortable seating, giving the air of a pub that invites you to get comfortable. There was plenty of outdoor seating scattered across the grounds around the pub.
We were early for our booking, luckily they had the table ready for us. The table we were seated at was located in between 3 other tables occupied by larger groups, which put us right in the middle of the noise, not ideal but not the worst either, having said that, I think everything after that point was some of the best I've had, the food, the drinks, and especially the service.
We were greeted by Ellie almost instantly as we sat down, and were given drinks and food menus, quite simple and straight forward, a one page menu printed on both sides. We ordered our drinks and starters, both of which took about 5-10 minutes to arrive, I had the negroni ( a go to of mine, when rating places, the black horse, a solid 9.5/10) , my parents had a passion fruit mojito and a non alcoholic elderflower sherbet. Starters were salt and pepper squid and sticky coated chicken. We were constantly checked on to make sure everything was going good, which by all means it was. We then ordered mains and a second drink for my dad, a pineapple mojito. My parents shared a glazed pork belly, and I had myself the 10 Oz ribeye, cooked medium rare, with the beef dripping gravy, which took all of 15-20 minutes to arrive. While I didn't taste the pork myself, my parents definitely loved it. The steak was cooked to perfection, intense flavours bursting out in every bite, served with a side of chips, Portobello mushroom, tomato and an onion nest (which wasn't quite my to liking, but I was too full to eat it by the time I got to it anyways). I washed down my mains with an amaretto sour, which was immaculate and appropriately placed under the after dinner section of drinks on the menu. Georgia was constantly checking in on us, making sure we were comfortable and that everything was to our liking.

Overall, just a few negatives that were completely superceded by the amazing service from Georgia and Ellie, the food (compliments to the chef) and lovely drinks.
I would definitely be returning whenever I can and would completely recommend giving it a try.
It's a 5/5 in my books.
A beautiful and welcoming location. The food is delicious and the staff very kind and friendly. And the service was very fast. I have been 5-6 times and it is my favorite restaurant. I'm allergic to dairy and always find different dishes to try .If I could give them 10 stars
Very warm welcome from Richard!!! He introduced what special food you could taste as they have special fresh fish from Cornwall! You will be really impressed of quality of the food and service! And all starts from Richard! We got already addicted to this place!!!

Good pub, the staff are friendly and the drinks are not too expensive. They used to run a weekly pub quiz (not sure if they still do) which was always a good laugh. They closed the kitchen on Monday's but let you bring your own food in, including take out .
Nice, big gastro pub. Efficient and fast service. The food is actually quite good and reasonably priced.
Came on a 'Withnail & I' filming locations trip, so of course we had to stop at The Crown. Great that it is dog-friendly as we had ours with us. It was a busy weekend afternoon with only one person serving most of the time, he looked stressed out as queues began to build on both sides of the bar. However the atmosphere / interior was lovely, and the beers were good. Would like to return and check out the food.

Decent food in a pub, good value and friendly staff
Great pub when its quiet in the evenings during the week.
Staff take your drinks or food orders at your seat which is a nice touch and like hotels that also do.
Have eaten there at christmas time 2022, and found the food good with great service from pub staff.
Nice walks along the tow path of the Grand union canal and the old railway cycle and walking route nearby.
Very nice decor inside the pub and would recommend a visit.
If you are adventurous you could walk or cycle along the Grand union canal to Birmingham at 72 miles away.
Fabulous food in a great restaurant that looks like a pub! Small reduction in atmosphere as we were seated in the small outdoor area, which was expected, but did not realise it was a smoking area, and then the kitchen extractor fan kicked in and spoiled any ambiance.

Booked a table out the front so we could be in the sun. Lovely spot. Also saw a man with a parrot, extra points.
The service here did not disappoint, they were all lovely and super accommodating. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. We all had the vegan bangers and mash, I couldn’t recommend it enough – just a real hearty filling dish that was enjoyed by all 3 of us!

The venue itself is fantastic and homely, while at the same time having something for everyone. Upstairs is a sports bar with a pool table so I’ll definitely be visiting that next time! Also live music every Friday – what more could you ask for?

I’ve been to a lot of pubs in MK and this one might just be my favourite.

Great fish and chips. Comfortable seats and lots of room. Nice staff. Price reasonable.
Fantastic food, very attentive staff and a bright and vibrant atmosphere.
We had a beautiful lunch at The Birch today and will most definitely return. The manager was very hands on and provided us with a great overview of the menu, the wider team were also very attentive and efficient. The food was flawless, fantastic portions, really fresh and flavourful. Great value for money.
We were able to view the Sunday Lunch menu whilst we were there, it looks tremendous. Highly recommend.
I asked for a bottle of stella and the barmaid told me it was going to be warm, as the fridge was having issues, so i took a moment to look at what else they had, decided on a cider, she asked if i wanted a pint, i asked for a half pint and she said “okay you really need to tell me what you want” as if she was in a rush (when the place was quiet), i did not dignify that with a response, and i did tell you what i wanted, and it was warm, so maybe give me a moment? Did not feel very welcome after that snide comment, she was polite after that, and i was polite back, but that snide comment made me feel uncomfortable, didn’t apologise about the fridge having problems, i work in a bar myself so i know customer service, and hers was not very good, when i work in a bar, i take time to help the customer decide, rather than rushing them. She was sitting down when i walked in so maybe she just wanted to sit back down.

Prices were cheap and they had a smoking area, so ill give a second star for that

And glad she did very tasty roast dinner and pudding to die for!!!
Staff nice and friendly, can't wait for the summer to try the outdoor space 😀
The roast sharing platters are excellent - very generous portions. We had the lamb and beef, and both were delicious. The scotch eggs and breaded parsnips proved a controversial discussion over dinner, however!

We only had drinks here so I can't comment on the food, but the pub was very atmospheric and had fabulous decor... Excellently done. The drinks were reasonably priced.
Great service, friendly and welcoming staff. Beautiful decor and clean environment. Food was delicious! Decent menu with good range of choices, not too large and not too small. Sunday Roast was overall great! Wished the porkskin was a bit crisper.
Nice enough place, service nice but a little slow. Ham egg and chips came with far too many fat roast potato-style chips. Raised this with the barman and he thought it was funny. Seriously, there were enough chips for three people. Steak ciabatta was lovely, apart from the ciabatta bread was English style - close-textured and nothing like real ciabatta? Apart from that it was ok. Will go again.
We were here for the Sunday roast and it did not disappoint . Best Yorkshire pudding we’ve ever tasted - fluffy, bouncy and crispy around the edges - perfection. Staff was lovely and accommodating, creating a cosy and lively atmosphere.

Cozy pub, great ambience and good value. Highlight though is the landlady who was lovely. She even ran out after me when I’d left my phone on the table. Highly recommend if you’re down the bottom end of town
🚇 Chalk Farm
🍺 £6.00 Moretti
❤️ A welcoming Victorian Gastro.
.
Located on a quiet crossroads in Primrose Hill, you’ll find The Princess of Wales. Chalk Farm Tube is a pleasurable five minute walk away.
.
This pub was built mid 19th Century and gain’s its name from the wife of Edward VII not Lady Di as I had first thought. This pub used to have three entrances and four bars in its boozer heyday. As the wet trade declined this pub was in prime Gastro territory and was refurbished back 2012, the results of which are very easy on the eye.
.
The ground floor main bar has an elegant island servery at its core. This traditional Victorian pub has high ceilings and windows which makes this pub feel spacious even though it is quite cosy. There is a dining/ function room upstairs and downstairs there is a walled beer garden. Back in 2011, mysteriously overnight a Lion and a girl holding a ballon appeared on the wall in the garden, was it Banksy? Who knows, but it does look cool.
.
The beer choice is full of mainstream favourites with a bit of craft and one cask option thrown in for good measure. My beer choice was Moretti, it was a good pint and average price. The food is elevated British pub grub, wood fired pizzas and some international morsels, Fish & Chips costs £15.50. This pub is part of the @city_stack collection of London pubs, so if you want a £10 discount here of a minimum £20 spend, head over to their insta or check link in my bio.
.
The atmosphere on this Saturday afternoon was relaxed and convivial. The pub was busy and had a 50/50 split of diners and drinkers which was nice to see. The service was great, the barman was attentive and nice natured.
.
The @princessofwalespub was an enjoyable visit, even though its a gastro it’s a good place to come for a drink as well as food, well worth a visit people.

Excellent all round experience. Second visit here, definitely a third on the cards. Food well worth a tasting, though you'll need a big appetite.
Second picture from previous visit, Thursday evening is Seafood Specials. This evening homemade Pie, perfect comfort food.

I had a lovely meal on the weekend. The mix it up plate is very good value for money and there is a range of variations and options that you can order. The staff were friendly and the food was quick. I will be back soon!
We went for the first time few months ago invited from some dear friends in Teddington and it’s been already a 5 stars discovery. We came back yesterday to repeat the experience and it’s been just a confirmation. The atmosphere is welcoming, the menù is inviting, the food is delicious. Every dish is perfectly cooked graciously disposed and well served. Gluten free option available at request. The service is friendly, kind and available at all the time. The restaurant always tidy even in the most busy moment. The room upstairs is lovely and warm. Toilets always clean and tidy and the entire place is dog friendly as well.. What else we can ask??
Thank you, it’s been a great pleasure again 😊

I used the toilet and was shocked at the apparent disgusting state it was in. When I had a word with the landlord, he told me he glued the seat down to stop people ripping off the seat and then told me I was having a go at him!

A very poor selection of beer too. In a city of over ten breweries it’s disappointing to see not one represented and the only non-lager choices being Wadworths. Comments elsewhere suggest the landlord has an active dislike of real ale drinkers so maybe that explains the very limited choice.

Probably our third visit to The Birch. I would not hesitate to recommend this lovely restaurant. We went for an anniversary celebration and from the moment we walked in the staff we friendly and attentive. The food was amazing and it was a lovely touch to be given an anniversary card by the team . It’s not a cheap meal out if that is what you are looking for but it’s worth every penny for the fantastic service and delicious food . Thank you for a lovely evening .

Having signed up to the Black Horse App ages ago, I was treated with a voucher for my birthday for a free 3 course meal if someone else with me who paid for the equivalent 3 courses. My husband and I visited last night and had an amazing evening. Our food was served promptly (no long waits) but helpful, cheerful and friendly staff. The food was beautifully presented and outstanding quality. It is the first time I ever remember returning 6 plates (3 each) to the kitchen, completely wiped clean of every morsel!. My husband had a beautiful soup, I had pâté. He then went for Grilled Seabass and I had a Wonderful Steak pie and trimmings. Husband had Blackberry and apple crumble with custard. I had the best sticky toffee pudding ever, with honeycomb ice-cream. Delicious. Compliments to the chef and all the serving team. Can't recommend the pub enough! It's not cheap, but not expensive either.

Wonderful food, great service. Lovely birthday treat.

Really nice pub with character. I loved it.
Really lovely pub. We sat outside at the backyard. Their skinny crispy fries are good, and it tastes better if you add Malt and extra salt too. Good selection of drinks. Kid friendly. Super sweet staff. Highly recommend it.

You need a big appetite! The food was lovely. I went as part of a staff party. We preordered our meas. I had the beef Wellington. It was lovely. However, not one piece but two. I did not have a starter (which were huge) and after my meal I was stuffed and satisfied. However I had forgotten I had ordered dessert! I could not finish that too. In fact t we all had two courses, and not one of us ate everything. Beautiful food, great service, reasonably priced but, and bear in mind I like my food, too much on the plate.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch at The Birch today. They have only just reopened and were very busy but everything was great.

Every member of staff seemed happy and were all very personable, a great example of how hospitality should be.

Food was equally great and we will definitely be back!

Great place! Food is always awesome, cheap and massive portions. We live across the road so went over to try the new menu items and they were really good!. Went there last night and the lady serving was lovely!!! Very cute and sweet, I didn't catch her name but she had a star tattoo under her eye. We liked her alot. Xxx

Had a breakfast pizza, wasn't as good as I thought it would be after reading the menu description. Needs a bit of tlc when cooking! Like for example, if you chuck the black pudding in the pizza, it won't taste as nice if first u fry it to let it release its magical flavour.
My mate asked a curry and it was fairly small.
Other than that, clean and quiet place in the afternoon.

Nice traditional British pub, having a good selection of bitter, IPA, lager or mild ale. Nice to stopping by.
This is my first visit for a few years. The greeting was friendly and we were shown to our table quickly. Ordering went well and our drinks were brought quickly. The main course, steak and ale pie was delicious. The vegetables were well seasoned and the beef dripping gravy was tasty. Dessert was lovely, but sadly not warm. Sticky toffee pudding and custard need to be warmer than room temperature. The apply and damson crumble was somewhat warmer, but still not a hot pudding. Service was overall excellent and both of the ladies who served us were delightful and friendly.
