Simply put, the staff are extremely rude, bossy and entitled. No respect for patients and they are never helpful. Especially the reception staff, they think just doing the basics of their job is somehow a favour on the patients coming to the GP.

I hardly go to the doctors however anytime I wanted to get in touch, I have managed to get an appointment for myself and the children. The service has been good to me , personally.

The receptionists are extremely rude! I suffered from extreme swelling in my feet to the point that my blood circulation stopped and they still did not give me an appointment. They then sent me a letter saying I received a warning, but for what? I had to spend hours in A&E because these receptionists don’t allow you to have an appointment! Today I called to confirm that a doctor would be calling and the receptionist stated they would and she later called me back saying the doctor wants me to go elsewhere! Of course I’m going to argue back, so then she had the audacity to cut the phone off…this surgery is a waste of time and space! They guard it like you’re visiting Queen Elizabeth 🙄

Friendly staff and there are lots of doctors. I’ve been fortunate enough to get appointments every time I needed it. They are also open longer hours and weekends which is great.

When you need to see the doctor, no appointments available. When a practice manager needs you to come in for their malicious reasons, disguised as a support meeting, they tell you they have every doctor available for appointments every day. When asked why we're not normally given appointments, the deputy manager says it's upto them.
They spend a lot of the appointment time telling the patient they're refusing to enable the patient access account, the patient will never be given appointments for medical reasons, but is welcome to see their main doctor (Dr Mann, who had no communication with the patient) for account reviews only. Roopa Jayadev and Dr Akram continue to behave in a hostile manner towards the patient.
When the patient asks if they're not welcome to attend the surgery, Dr Akram asks Roopa if she's a witness that the patient has decided to leave, and go to a different surgery. Dr Akram and Roopa agree to their deception working in their favour.
At the same time, the two receptionists tell another patient he's not registered as their patient, so he can't go in, even though he was asked to come in by their deputy manager. The receptionists continued to change their story during later phone calls, on who is and isn't their patient.

Avoid this surgery! It's very hard to phone at 8 and get an appointment. I phoned at a different time and was given a doctors phone appointment for 10 days later- and the doctor didn't call! also, they will try telling you that your medicines "aren't on the system". The receptionist questions you on the phone to try and catch you out and so not give you appointment/medicines. The waiting room is always packed, no seats and people complaining.

Made it even harder to get an appointment by not allowing you to queue for a call at 8am. Just ends the call automatically now and says line is busy. I know you guys must find your jobs stressful but people are calling with real health concerns and you making it even harder than it already is is really disgraceful.

Had to have my bloods done. My veins disappear when a needle comes towards them. It's usually a painful experience with a few attempts.

Ms Alka Aggarwal was absolutely brilliant. Got my vein first time round and no pain. This is the 1st time it has not hurt. She was brilliant.

As with most G.P. Surgery's there are good and bad, I will say NURSE RANI at Heathfield Family Centre is an excellent nurse, I had to have blood tests done and I usually hate having my bloods done as I usually come out looking and feeling like a battered and bruised pin cushion but not this time, nurse rani took her time to find my deep vein and hey Presto first time blood was drawn, it's not the first time either. I also was there to get some advice on smoking cessation, she was very patient, listened to my questions and answered them all truthfully, openly and honestly, which I really appreciated, so all in all a good experience for me at Heathfield family centre.

Worse surgery you could ever visit, first of all they have three receptionist since a year, all of them so arrogant and rude. Everytime when I ask them receptionist to get any information or anything related appointments or prescription they don't even want to talk to the patient, one young boy and girl always flirting with each other and chatting on the phone while you standing front of their desk. She seems never had a good life ( then go away and leave the chair for someone not measurable and unexperienced like you)You guys need to shut your surgery and stop playing with people life. I was seen by Dr Karri today. She was very caring and did take the time to explain to me my possibilities, give me a plan and reassure me. The environment was nice and the admin time welcomed me with a smile and politeness. Well done.

If I could give zero I would!!!!! This surgery is absolutely awful, they do not care about patients. They give wrong diagnosis, wrong medication, read ultrasound and other test results wrong, they do referrals wrong not only for adults but children too. It should be shut down. They only have 1 good doctor and 3 other staff through both surgeries that are any good or care. Awful place, I'm left feeling ill, sad and let down time and time again by 95% of staff there. The good staff should leave and work somewhere else, they are too good for the rest of the team.

Dr chaparla surgery is extremely working hard to keep the patient happy, all the staff is Excellent, Dharni she goes extra mile .when ever you ring they answer the phone. absolutely brilliant staff and doctors.

Very bad they've just want your money, nowadays as soon you booked appointment at 8.00 morning. You will receive msg saying your appointment with clinical our pharmacy our percy road witch they don't even refer you to specialist. the doctors they are helpful ..besecly if you have chance to see them. I believe is the rong management role that's why is bad reviews everywhere you read. Shame except sister mariam used to been in reception NO anymore...God bless her 🙏.

I am a new patient. I can hardly find time. I haven't been able to do so for three weeks now. I have been on the line for more than an hour. Finally, they tell me, "I'm sorry, there's no doctor available today. Go to 111. I'm still trying to find time. Because I need to see a doctor. I have received my test results. I have very high prolactin. I have actually been able to talk to the doctor twice. They are very, very good and they talk about your pain in detail. The only problem with this GP is receiving phone calls. When I see that all the patients are relatives. The staff of these telephone carriers should be held accountable.

My foot has been been hurting for y days and when they finally managed to pick up the phone after 2 hours I was told I can't get an appointment till 3 days later

Well what can I say apart from I'm so angry with these doctors I go for my bloods to be done about my liver then to be told my sugar was high and cholesterol and liver then to be told to change my life style which I did but now I'm in hospital and nearly lost my life because of them!!!! My dad a vulnerable adult with dementia and various other health problems, has been unable to get an appointment at this practice now for other a month. Everyday calling up at 8:30 to wait over 40 mins get through and appointments have gone?
Receptionists are unhelpful, I would understand if he was calling up due to a cold but the man has had throat cancer in the past and now has another lump and no voice, but still ‘All appointments have gone’
I will be escalating this further 🤦🏼♀️

I have been with this practice all of my life - 55 years and have been happy with my service. Yes I had an issue with Dr. Patini but on reflection that was more me. Cruel to be kind. The support my wife has received during some tough years has been great. Monica has always been very polite with me and getting appointments is relatively easy and quick. I knew Dr. was retiring and recent experience of new team has been great.

Poor service. You wait endlessly for someone to answer the phone. If you've been unfortunate enough to not be able to call in the first 10 mins of opening times, then there's no chance you will get an appointment and if you do get an appointment and it's face to face, they typically make you wait an hour to be seen neglecting the fact that we have other commitments. No sense of care or compassion. They need more staffing. One person sat on reception dealing with phone calls and F2F patient queries seems diabolical. If you go to the surgery at 9am requesting an appointment, they ask you to call them? So you stand in their surgery calling the reception desk right which is in front of you? What a joke

AVOID. Impossible to get an appointment. Ring at 8am and 45 in the Que!! They cut you off as soon as you’re number 1 in the Que! Ring again, only to be told no appointments left and ring next day!

Terrible, can never get an appointment. Recently moved to this practice. Been with them 4 months and still can't get an appointment. Yes I ring first thing at 8.30 every morning. Receptionist unhelpful. No option to have even a phone appointment. Was told only two doctors available for over 4000 patients. Please can some one remind me why we pay taxes to pay these doctors and staff who we cant see!

If I could give this gp 0 stars I would. You can never get an appointment. When you call you are placed in a long queue which they end up hanging up when it reaches you. The miscommunication is insane too - when you ask for a telephone appointment they book you in for a face to face without telling you. Sometimes they don’t even tell you the timings of the appointment and then you have to wait ages for the rare case to reschedule.

I have been with this practice for 34 years. Sadly after the departure of doctors Kordan, Patel and Gabriel this practice has become comically poor. The reception staff act like MRCGPs and the doctors who seem to all be locums denying basic medical care. I wait for ridiculous amounts of time to get through and when I do appointments have gone. The locums cannot help with the excuse that they are not my named doctor. I have now been forced to change my practice and during the change over spend £1000s on private Bupa GPs and private scans. They should be ashamed of themselves.

each time I had appointment there literally the staffs kept me waiting 1 hour in spite of my really backache. It's been about three weeks since I visited this place to get my mother referred to a community dentist by her GP. I was told that Monday to expect an appointment to be made that day and I would be contacted regarding that by 5pm. I waited by my phone all afternoon and did not receive a single call. No voicemail, nothing! So I went back the following Tuesday. As before, the receptionist took details and I was again told I would be contacted. Again I waited, and again, I wasn't contacted. I've had to make an alternative arrangement with a local dentist to get my mother's dentures replaced. But that appointment isn't until late April. My mother urgently needs new dentures as she has difficulty eating which is causing her a great deal of distress. WHY can't I get her referred for a home visit by a community dentist via her GP? What's the problem here? I'm planning another visit soon to find out what the hell is going on. I understand you guys have a heavy workload but this appointment should have been made THREE WEEKS AGO. Not good enough, must do better!

You cannot seem to get a appt and spend days calling. Only option is to go and wait outside the surgery at 8am. Alot of patients already be queuing outside the surgery before 8am, including elderly which really is sad to see as that shouldnt have to be the case. Most doctors just seem to rush you and want you out the door within seconds..however I was really impressed with Dr saddiqui. This is the first time I had a appt with him and he was brilliant. He saw me on time, he listened and was really thorough, explaining everything really well. He gave his 100% to the patient, making sure he gives the whole 10 minutes of the appt time to you and not just rush you to get you out his room like most doctors do there.
Dr saba and Dr El-Haffer are also brilliant doctors. These 3 are excellent doctors with excellent patient care skills, delivering a excellent service just like how it should be. We need more doctors like this. Also I know the reception staff be under pressure to call in patients for smear tests etc due to the coff season so the sugery can claim its money at the end of march but its really annoying when they call you for a smear test, flu jab etc and if you decline it they ask you to come in and sign forms which really no patients needs to do. Patients have the right to decline these and shouldnt feel pressured or asked to come in to sign papers. Declining it over the phone should be enough and making a note of on their record.

Appointment for my 81 yr old father was at 11:50, he finally got to see the dr at 12:42!!!

This is the worst surgery I have ever been to. I rang at 8.30 in the morning to make an appointment as you would and my call was answered at 9.10am.
I get texts to say I have an appointment but not told what they’re for as the messages are the same so I have to call to confirm what the appointment is for. Again I waited 40 minutes to get through to them even late in the morning. Their line is always engaged and literally one person dealing with every call. It’s pathetic.
Also Jhoots pharmacy next to the reception area is a waste. They seem to have everything out of stock.
I came last week to drop off a discharge letter from the hospital and then had another appointment this week only to find there is no discharge letter on the system. So where has the discharge letter gone? Has it been misplaced? Clearly patient confidentiality isn’t important at this surgery.
Finally I bring you to my final problem. I had an appointment for my son today who was prescribed ointments. It’s Tuesday today and I asked if his prescription will be ready in a day or two. I was told the person who deals with prescriptions will be able to send this off to the chemist not tomorrow (Wednesday) but the following Wednesday. So by the time I get my sons ointments it will be two weeks. What is someone supposed to do in the 2 weeks when their sons skin condition is becoming worse?!

My dad was sent here for an appointment 12/12/22 and I was really impressed. The receptionists were lovely. My daughter was crying loads and they helped me so much trying to calm her down. My dad was seen by Dr Siddiqui and the feedback was very positive

Sadly it is not possible to leave zero stars out of 5 which would be most accurate. This is the worst GP surgery in Birmingham. The receptionists are by far the worst I have ever come across - rude, apathetic and completely inhuman in their attitude and responses, why choose to work with a constant influx of mentally and physically unhealthy people if you have the emotional capacity of an angry toddler? I think it’s time to shut this place down.

Literally since I moved to sparkhill/Strafford Road and changed my doctors from Lee bank Edgbaston to this place 🤦🏾♂️. Can you imagine I’m still trying to get an appointment to see a doctor for the last year now. It’s always the same story with these receptionist, most of the time you either on a queue waiting for appointment on the phone but never seem to get one because it’s always call tomorrow because today we booked . I sometimes call 7.57 before 8 and I never ever had an appointment till today. They don’t have a policy where you can call and make an appointment in the future, it’s always call early in the morning for slots.
I advice you if you moved into the neighborhood, try finding alternative GPS that see their patients.

That must be the worst place in Uk. there is no way u can get appointment I called 22 times then I decided to go there. I asked her (Asian receptionist very rude) if she could give me appointment for any day even in 2 weeks time but she said no you have to come at 8.30 well I have kids and I have to take them school. Anyway while I was talking to her she ignored me and started to chat to some other person on the reception and let me tell you it wasn’t important conversation. The older man in front of me begged her for appointment and she said I can offer him a phone call he goes I won’t understand and I might die she goes well I offer u appointment over the phone. I really don’t get what’s is wrong with people they think they have power over you and you have to beg for appointment. This is very sad that when people need medical assistance the staff intentionally make it hard for you to get the help that you need. I've had receptionists actually lie to me say they have booked appointments for my self to get a call back from the Doctor but the appointments never get honoured even if you have text confirmation that it is booked.
The system they have is really poor even to get a sick note sent to you by email or post is against their procedures.

Very difficult to get an appointment - it’s like this everywhere but my new surgery has more appointments available at least. Never any appointments available from the app which is awful for those who struggle with calls - especially considering the lines are always busy and clearly not enough reception staff to answer the phones.

Two months later my referral wasn’t received and so I have to ask my new surgery to complete this for me. I handed the letter to reception and the doctors name was on it, somebody didn’t do their job properly and it’s me who has to deal with the consequences. I now have to wait even longer to be seen as if waiting times weren’t already horrendous.

Very rarely are the phone lines open on time, try calling later in the day and even if you are number 1 in the queue you are waiting for ages and no one picks up. Yes it's really, really hard to get a timely appointment or be seen quickly. It's not perfect and it can be frustrating. However, once you actually get seen, the doctors and nurses at Springfield are the absolute best you can find. Drs Fleming and Melchior, and others who have worked here, have saved lives in my family and even my own. Having lived around a bit, I've seen what other doctors are like and was shocked to learn they aren't all like this. The medical staff here show great understanding, compassion, kindness and aptitude that is extremely hard to find, it's almost unusual. I think as a community we are extremely lucky to have them, yet some seem very ungrateful which is quite disappointing to read.

Kills time. Very poor appointment system. Same excuse every time, surgery running late.. why not starting early than late. When you come to the surgery eat, drink, and finish your all other duties because god know how many hours you need to sit and wait for your turn. They need to improve time management. Surgery has been going down hill for years now. The receptionists are extremely rude, the new appointment procedure is terrible - an appointment can never get booked. I phone at 8am, sit on the phone for an hour and then get told no appointments are left and that I must call in the following day - this has happened more than once. The surgery is in need of restructuring as they never seem to be able to support patient needs. They do not chase consultant results or feedback and expect the patient to do so on their behalf. The way the surgery is being ran is appalling and they need new systems in place to make the service more efficient and effective.

There is one asian receptionist who is absolutely awful and needs to be reported. She has no idea how to talk to patients and talks to them like she is above them. She doesnt want to help. The other receptionists are very good when you eventually get through to them. Call waiting to get through to the surgery is more than an hour each time. When you finally get through and get an appointment, the clinicians are very good and professional. Shame that one receptionist and call times ruin a whole practice. Other reviews are similar so the practice needs to fix up!

Called at a time when they should be open and I've been number 1 in the queue for literally HALF AN HOUR. They still didn't pick up. I explained my poor son is in a lot of discomfort with a rash he's raking at. They wasn't interested and gave us an appointment for Monday which is 5 days away. I am with Oakwood surgery for 23 years but it’s reception service went down day by day. Whenever I try to make an appointment, the number would come off, leading to the phone turning off and I had to wait for 2 hours at the end and they said all appointments were gone. Last week I ordered for my repeat prescription of levothyroxine and perpanalol but today I went to my pharmacy they said nothing has come up on their system. I have total thyriodtomy I take levothyroxine every day for life but the receptionist still insisted that you can get after two days. Receptionists’ behaviour was so rude I insisted that my medications had finished but she refused and argued with me and rudely told me you can get after surgery closed.

Although doctor Mavi, and Jassel work extremely hard, the practice itself is falling apart. Mainly due to the nurse's and reception staff. Whenever you request an appointment, it's nearly impossible to receive one, especially for those who work between 8-9am (as those are the times your asked to call and book). I was a few minutes late, for injections for my newborn, and was asked to rebook. I explained I had to feed the baby, but the nurse and reception staff didn't sympathise with me. However, whenever I've attended an appointment and staff are up to an hour late, I've happily waited for my appointment. I will be switching surgeries, and won't be coming back. Please be careful of the reception staff, they are rude and not understanding in the slightest. As a biomedical scientist myself, it's difficult to see this kind of health practice. As I love the NHS and everything it stands for. Hall green surgery is supposed to be much better, will be switching to them. For anyone getting into a public serving sector, don't do it for the money, do it for the patients. It makes a real difference.

Physiotherapy with Dr Sanjay has been a blessing!. I started off with a lot of swelling with edema in my legs last summer. This became a concern when there was pain involved. I managed to get a GP appointment and was referred to the DVT team. They came out and treated me with injections for 5 days, then I had to go to the hospital . After bloods, I was told I had no thrombosis thankfully and was discharged. The edema slowly went, but the pain continued. I had sleepless nights and the work days were hard and uncomfortable. Due to the shortage of blood vials last year, I had to wait 2 months for full blood work. When I finally had my bloods taken, again, everything came back normal. I felt like I was stuck and the pain was just getting unbearable, then I managed to get some telephone consultations with my GP. Dr Melchior and he made a referral to Dr Sanjay for Physiotherapy my initial consultation with Dr Sanjay was great! He was so attentive and he listened to all of niggles and concerns. It turned out to be my Hamstring. We discussed a programme of exercises he would send me via email and how I could download the Physio app to complete my exercises. He also gave me some life style advice, which I have been putting into practice. The app is easy to use, and the exercises come with videos to explain each one. The pain has lessened so much and I can go to work (which involves standing for 10 plus hours) and not feel uncomfortable now. You have to put in the time and effort if you want to feel and see results, and I'm glad I did. This service and Dr Sanjay can your mind at ease and he is a specialist at what he does, you feel like someone has finally listened to you and that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I would have given no stars. The latest failure from this practice is to not include critical mental health medication in my moms monthly prescription. I left this practice years ago due to the Drs appalling communication and attitude. Not recommended.

Every time tried to book an appointment told no appointments available and call back tomorrow at 8.15am. Tried calling them at 8.15am in the morning phone keeps ringing or is busy, when they answered at 10.00am told again no appointments available and ring back tomorrow again, same thing again.
Avoid this surgery. Very unhelpful give you more stress then help you.

Its really frustrating to wait for last 1 hour in the que for a telephone consultation! My call disconnected every 6-7 mins. I tried 5 times! So whats the point to call when you need a doctors appointment badly! I took whole day off today but couldn't made an appointment with my own gp. I didn't disturbed them last 5 years but now I need their service! If I could buy medicine over the counter, I would not bother to call them! I feel so so so low!!

My father was referred for physiotherapy for lower back pain via his local GP. We were then contacted by Sanjay based at Sparkhill Primary Care Centre within days. He carried out a telephone consultation with us to identify the issue and and devise an online exercise programme - containing videos and step-by-step guide - this was sent to us immediately post-consultation. We were extremely pleased with this service as Sanjay was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly and put my father at ease. The consultation was thorough and gave us the opportunity to clarify any queries and issues we had. We also received a follow-up call from Sanjay a couple of days later to check on progress. My father is benefitting from the exercises so once again, we're very please with this service.

Poor service from reception, rediculess waiting time for call backs from doctors. They try their hardess not to do home visit even though patient is bedridden. It as been like this for years,

Dr Patti is unprofessional, rude and wants to get rid of you. I prefer to die rather than to be treated by him. Avoid him. Book you appointment with Dr. Begum, she is professional, friendly and respectful.

I've just been on the phone for neally 2hrs, trying to get through to reception, and as soon as it got to 2hrs, the doctors cut me off. It should never take 2hrs to get through. This is the worst surgery I've ever been registered to. I wouldn't reccomend this surgery to anybody. What an absolute joke. Zero stars from me.

Your customer service is below standard and you are not meeting the needs of patients. It should not be this difficult to speak to a GP especially when you require advise or an appointment. There are constant waiting times on the telephone taking over 45 minutes per call, do you think this is acceptable? Please review your internal procedures and create a system that works for your patients

This surgery is an absolute farse...no compassion no care.. not one bit helpful.. my son was referred back to Drs as a priority.lts been a week and no referrals or contact 😕 the reception staff are also rude and lack compassion. 😤 treat others how would like to be treated that's my advice to them all both GPS and reception staff..if I could give no stars I would, “I will use my power to help the sick to the best of my ability and judgement; I will abstain from harming or wronging any man by it,” orders doctors to do their best in their job and not use their skill or knowledge to harm or kill their patients. They are unprofessional I called the surgery on Monday 13th June from
10:00am trying to get some medication after speaking with 111 who instructed me to tell them what he told me and let them know they can prescribe some medication still waiting on the call. 111 was in contact with me most of the day so i was able to let the know i did not hear from the surgery. The Doctors from the badger Medical services called me at 2:45pm pm and advised me that the medication was called in to a pharmacy and i can go and collect it in the next half an hour. I did collect it and it makes me fell much better.

- Can never reach them by telephone;
- Telephone staff incredibly rude and unhelpful, although following the recent takeover, this has been marginally better;
- Incompetent GP’s with no interest;
- Smear test request letters persistently sent to old address despite having updated it several times. Smear test is now well overdue;
- Overall, a complete and utter waste of time.

What a joke. This place has always been just that absolutely shambolic service. It took an hour and 10 minutes just to talk to three people in the queue. As i get to the "out of hours staff" she tells me its bank holiday monday and the surgery isnt open whilst they have everyone waiting in a queue because they cant be bothered to close the lines or change their opening hours online. And then when i called straight after there was 8 people waiting in a queue so most of them will habe to wait a minimum of an hour before being told they wasted an hour waiting for the disgraceful staff to pick up the phone. Oh and also you cant book in advance they have a old school style of first come first serve so they'll have 15 20 people waiting at 9am to call and then after that you cannot book. What a joke of an surgery needa to be closed to be honest just wasting useful space whilst we have the hill there where staff are more understanding and friendly. I dont need to go into how much of a knob "dr" rajput is i dont blame the staff i blame him for the way the whole surgery is setup

Absolutely love these doctors so committed and dedicated to their jobs. Years ago Dr Fleming had upon seeing my dads test results come to our house in person in the evening to urge my dad to check in to a hospital. This shows you the level of dedication. As such I've remained with this surgery almost 10 years on since that event.
My Dr is Dr Melchior and I've never met a more gentler and kinder doctor. He remembers my profession and always talks to me whenever I've visited and I never feel like I am just a number waiting to be seen and gotten rid of. Sarah Corden the nurse is amazing as well.
When I was pregnant these guys were absolutely amazing to me and when I have brought my daughter to be checked they've been so lovely and diligent with their care for her. It really really warms my heart we have such amazing doctors in a time when every industry and profession has been made into a money business by the tories.
