First time going here and was pleased when a friend suggested meeting here. Love everything about this place, the space, venue, staff. I also love that it's kinda tucked away. Will definitely be coming back
This coffee shop has one of a kind atmosphere…and being so close to downtown with this huge space! Loved the variety of beans they have as well as the inside of the coffee shop itself; the coffee was ok…maybe next time will try a different roast.

One of the best coffee shops in the neighborhood. I recommend the coconut milk latte and the drip coffee. You can sit and hang out while you work or share with a friend.

I had a lovely experience here to start the new year. My friend and I went for some crepes right as they opened, and the space filled up quickly as it is a small space. The young blonde lady doing all the cooking/serving was super nice, welcoming and friendly. I appreciate her attentive and excellent service even though it was quite busy! The crepes were delicious (La Canadienne and Parisienne, both great choices) and the tea served in good-sized mugs 🙂 Nice, cozy atmosphere. Will definitely visit again. Happy new year!
Great place to spend some time we had coffee & pestatiue croissant it was so fresh and delicious. The staff are so polite and friendly. We enjoyed our time. The prices are fair for the service you get.

A very famous Italian cafe, this time to buy Nutella Christmas cookies to give to my friends. The staff are very friendly!
The store had such a pretty, vintage and Parisian-vibe. I loved the aesthetics of it so much, didn’t want to leave. I got the Nutella crepe with banana slices which was yummy and filling! I tried my friend’s Charly with strawberry crepe and preferred it to mine, it was really nice. I’ll definitely revisit soon!!

Perfect place if you’re looking for a cozy cafe. I ordered one savoury crepe (La Canadienne) and one sweet crepe (St. Martin) and they were equally delicious. The food came out fast and was devoured just as quickly. Would definitely recommend!
Very cute coffee shop for chilling or studying/working. Has a great seating area which makes it great for sitting for long hours. It's located in a historic building so it has a cute vintage vibe. It's hands down the nicest Balzac's location in Toronto.

First time trying and i was surprised how good the coffee tastes. Always saw this illy brand around but never really attracted me to try but my friends decided to go to this place and really good choice! The coffee was better than i expected and they so many different flavours of donuts from other place. It is worth a try
I loveeee this café so much. Always a go to stop when I’m at Yorkdale mall. Last time I had the Bueno donut and it was super good! Always so much to choose from and never disappoints. I also recommend the birthday cake macaroon! First time trying it here and I’m definitely getting it back next time.
One of my favourite Balzac locations. Plenty of seating and great atmosphere. The coffee and pastries are always delicious.
One of my favourite cafes in the midtown. Staffs are funny and really friendly! The pastries are very fresh and delicious. I really like their coffee syrup, it just tastes different compared to the ones I tried at other cafes. I recommend their mango danish, raspberry croissant, chocolate almond croissant, and quiches.
Illy cafe offers you a quiet and private place to sit down and have a chat in the busy Yorkdale mall. their cappuccino and caremello latte are pretty good. Their pastries and desserts are nice too. The price range is reasonable and the service is friendly.

Lovely atmosphere, super quaint little coffee shop! Only complaint is that at 5:25pm the staff was a little too pushy about “closing at 6pm” - mentioned it several times, started putting things away and only serving in to-go cups. Killed the mood a little.

What a romantic gem this place is! Such a unique and wonderful cafe; beautiful, cool and comfortable. We had the hot chocolate, blueberry muffin, chocolate chip cookie and fudge gluten free oat bar. Food, beverages and staff are all fantastic. Our first time being here and we’ve fallen in love.
They never read the order if you do mobile order from your phone. Ordered blond coffee but always give me signature. Several times in row but never had this problem if you walk in and talk to them

Beautiful spot with a great little back patio. Love this location. It’s tucked away on a side street, you’d never even know it’s a coffee shop! Their americano was great they let you choose exactly how much water you want in it. Proper pastries and sone tasty breakfast sandwiches too.
Without a shadow of a doubt, the best spot for espresso beverages, drip coffee, pastries and more in this neighborhood. Go here frequently for iced mocha or lattes to help with recording music for the day.

A moderate to large portion of their customer base upon analysis over several months of observation, are mostly spoiled, out of touch, Karen and Kevin like people who believe they own every space,, who do not know how to use words like "excuse me", "please", "thank you", people who bring their screaming children and refuse to deal with it, or have their child run around the coffee shop bothering other customers, and when confronted with their objectively awful behavior and lack of social awareness, their first line of defense is to physically threaten the people or individual bold enough to speak up, even if that person they're threatening is easily capable of decimating their very existence. In other words, customers need to take their heads out of their rear ends and relax. It's just coffee. You'll get your cup.
In conclusion, Wallace Espresso is one of the best at what they do and our family will continue to frequent this establishment for a very, very long time.

iQ is good but this location is not. Customer service is not great. They increased the prices and stingy on cheese for salad - $20 wasn't really worth it.
This is a really good place to grab some food that's both healthy and tasty! Their avocado toast with egg was excellent.

We got iced coffee, matcha and a few pastries right before closing and the staff were so nice for letting us stay. The servers were friendly and welcoming, I love how the pastries were not too sweet. Prices were also decent.
Cute place, pastries were ok, Kouign Amann was dry and had no caramelized sugar crunch, almond croissant was better. Will return to try their other baked goods.

Near Bloor this local coffee roaster and shop is a hidden gem for coffee lovers. With a cozy ambiance (with long communal tables where you can work and even bring your own desktop) and a dedication to crafting the perfect cup of joe, it has become one of my favourite coffee locations in town. The expertly sourced and locally roasted beans ensure a rich and flavorful experience. The friendly staff's knowledge and passion for coffee create a welcoming environment. For an exceptional coffee experience that stands out from the chain shops, this local roaster is a must-visit.
This is a lovely, high ceiling/double story vintage industrial building with character and style. Nice inside table and lots outside in the quad. This place can have quite a line and if so, do a little shopping and stop in a few minutes later and it will be quiet. Big groups pass through quickly.
I find, in life, you generally get what you pay for - and this is no exception. As each coffee ☕️ place has its own taste 👅 some hit 💯 some are off by some percentage. But It won't replace my day-to-day need of coffee ☕️ Caffeine ☕️ serve’s the purpose! Freshly brewed great taste 👅, but it's well worth splashing out on if I fancy some caffetine ☕️ based, self-indulgence and luxury.

I don't visit Starbucks very often, but I decided to get one on this occasion, and the baristas were very friendly. They greet you with a smile on their faces as soon as you step foot in the door. I had the Cookie Crumble seasonal frappe, and it was really good. The place didn't feel dirty, but it didn't feel super clean either, which is why I'm removing a star. Other than thar, excellent experience.
I don't go to Starbucks very often so I don't have the app. I went to get a birthday drink (I heard that was a thing?) and was asked to provide the offer on my phone (which was not there). I explained that I just installed the app as I don't go too often. I showed them my birth date on the app and even pulled out my ID!
Apparently a government issued ID is not enough proof these days for a birth day drink. Oh well. Weird experience. Guess I'll keep my Starbucks visits to once a year.

This coffee shop is such a gem in the Distillery District. It’s an industrial design and loads of baked goods and delicious coffee.
I had an iced americano and an iced brownie and I really loved it.
The atmosphere along with the design and the great bakery varieties makes it one of the best coffee places I’ve ever been to.
There was free 2%milk, oat drink and half & half cream to add to your coffee if you wanted extra.
Tip: Go upstairs if you want to study/work or just spend some time with friends or alone. There is a cute indoor balcony that make you feel like you’re stepping in the Victorian era.

It didn’t take me much to adore this coffee shop. The moment you step in you are greeted by an amazing interior decoration. They serve many types of sweets and for me it was so hard to choose because all looked delicious.

Such a cool coffee shop in a true heritage building! We especially loved their upstairs seating and a little indoor balcony, and of course the chandelier 😍 service is amazing, coffee is delicious, this location is super clean, we keep coming back. Plenty of indoor seating, and some tables outside. Located right in the Distillery District, but not very busy in the mornings or during the day, highly recommended!

My friend and I were really looking forward to trying this place out after seeing the good reviews and cute interior. The food was decent, but what really set this place apart was the awful service. I'd give it 0 stars if I could.
After the server seated us, he just left us be and we had to ask him for water and for menus about 10 minutes in. While we got the water, he never ended up giving us any menus and we had to pull it up on our phones to order. This would've been fine if it was contactless menus but they were given to other tables without them having to ask for them.
After taking the time to think about what to order, we waited for the server to come by, except he never did. We then had to ask if we could order while he was behind the counter and it took at least another 5 minutes before he slowly made his way over to our table, which was situated just in front of the counter where he was. I would've even been fine if he took our orders with the counter between us, rather than just nodding and then not coming over. When he did, he just stood there waiting for us to let him know what we wanted. I ordered the tuna melt while my friend ordered the Caroline crepe.
Right off the bat I was told that there wasn't any sesame seed bagels and they only had poppy seed. No big deal, not my preference but it wasn't a make or break kind of deal so I switched it on over. Very cute place with great variety of fresh bakery! I honestly do not know any other nice coffee shop in our area with selection like this. I am drinking a lot of cappuccinos and can definitely say that they have a good one! Recommend for breakfast and brunch.

To my surprise, they also offer OATLY oat milk, a brand I had previously encountered only in the Netherlands. OATLY is known as the biggest oat milk company in the world, and it's crazy how to find it in such an obscure place in Toronto.
In addition to their pastry and hot beverage offerings, L'amour Cafe and Pastry boasts an impressive selection of Italian sodas in various flavors, from classic choices like lychee to more unique options like melon. The variety is sure to satisfy any craving.

I have been a regular customer with IQ Food since its first opening at First Canadian Place and a recent move to live in downtown makes me return at least 3 to 4 times weekly. The Wellington location is the best, the food here is all about the organic ingredients, no additives and the sauce is on the side. The acavado toast and the Lima are my regular orders. It is all about nutrition yet the food emits natural flavours that stimulate your appetite. There are a lot of similar places open after their success but they are of no comparison. Prices are expensive for takeout food BUT it is the freshness and ingredients source that one is paying for.

This is a nice spot for groups or coming alone for a morning/afternoon coffee and treats. They have multiple long vertical tables (community Style Seatings) that are suitable for business meetings or friends gatherings. You can also bring your laptop, monitor(s) and keyboard here with you and work from the café.
The taste is ok. However, the portion of entire chicken salad is very small which is less than half of the bowl with many rice on the bottom. Comparing to the price of $17.5 plus tax per bowel, I think I won't revisit.
I walked by the window looking for lunch at 2pm and didn't notice food just saw delicious looking pastry. I walked back and came inside to ask and saw a delicious looking sandwich. I don't normally order sandwich at restaurants but the bread was fresh made and all the ingredients were amazing!

They don’t know how to make a cappuccino or flat white and they have no mugs “for here”. Pastry are tasty but they don’t bake them themselves, lots of items from forno cultura. The atmosphere and music is nice but coffee is terrible. Was $19 for 2 coffees & 2 pastries. I won’t be back again.
Lovely little cafe on Mt. Pleasant. Lots of pastries to choose from but I wish they would label their products instead of having the customer ask what flavor it is. They have croissants, danishes, donuts filled with cream. I got the pistachio croissant and mango passionfruit cream donut. I would come back to try more.

Had time to kill before an appointment in the area. Cute little cafe with sandwiches, cookies, loaves, and pastries. Great selection of alternative milk options as well as vegan eats. Definitely a great place to stop by and grab yourself a small treat!
Nice place to have your drink and work simultaneously. I had to attend few meetings and there was some electricity issue in our building so I planned to visit Starbucks. The wifi speed and place is perfect if you need to work and attend meeting.

Just bought Venti Matcha in Bloom and all you get is ice!!! Matcha powder wasn’t even mixed properly I’ve paid almost $8 to get more than half a cup of ice. I’ve been buying same drink at other stores no one has filled ice to that levels. Come on Starbucks!!!!!! Make it worth the money Atleast

Still going super hard on COVID restrictions, so masks are required when not sitting at your table which are provided at the front service desk. The entire premise is wheelchair accessible with very well stocked clean bathrooms and it's really nice to just be in a huge space with solid tables. (Especially after all the rickety tiny spaces that are typical in the neighborhood.)

Still going super hard on COVID restrictions, so masks are required when not sitting at your table which are provided at the front service desk. The entire premise is wheelchair accessible with very well stocked clean bathrooms and it's really nice to just be in a huge space with solid tables. (Especially after all the rickety tiny spaces that are typical in the neighborhood.)

A pretty nice place to have a cup of coffee in busy Yorkdale shopping mall. They have a big and open sitting area on dining floor. Coffee tastes great. I ordered Cappuccino Viennese and a tiramisu cup. They have a lot of choices for drink, breakfast and dessert. However i feel the dessert is over price and they don’t taste that good. Would only recommend their drink. Service is fast!
Cute Balzac’s location for hanging out with friends or studying. The inside is very cozy and spacious with plenty of tables. There’s a wide selection of drinks available, and they are consistent with the high quality of the other Balzac’s locations.

Food was great however portions are small for the price. I ordered an avocado toast with an egg and it was almost $10. They gave me a singular toast.
Healthy food for affordable prices. It is very popular among suits (as in the movie). I decided to pick up my first lunch in this place after a 3-year break. It is good to be back!

The only note I can give is that I understand it is a small owned family cafe and when they get busy they will be delayed in their services, so you need to be patient sometimes.

Amazing food, even more amazing service. The bagel was especially nice. They accommodated our many requests and substitutions without hesitation. The only issue is that they don't have too many tables so expect a wait if you want to dine in.
Super busy place, staff are efficient and friendly. Drinks are made and kept up with the demand on a Sunday. Sad to find out no more pumpkin spiced foam, I think this request should be honoured if guests ask for it. Then you may gauge if you would update your menu offer. The Christmas Drinks are way too sweet for my preference. Kudos to staff.
I was shock Starbucks Fairview sell 1 month old lemon cake and insisted the cake is still good. Got lemon cake last night as today's breakfast. I asked to keep the wrapper (by accident) so I can carry it home easily. This morning, I saw the production day as Sept 3, which is 1 month old. I called the store right away, and was told they kept bakery item in freezer for 3 months 'only'. The staff even check the stock and confirm my cake is from the same batch, which is still good to consume. I am shocked and will never buy bakery items from Starbucks (or this location) EVER!!! I don't like food waste, but eating one month old cake from Starbucks freezer absolutely disgusted me. 🤢

EDIT: Although I planned to never return to this location, I was visiting my sister from out of town and we wanted to get some drinks. The restaurant adjacent was closed and so this spot was our only option. I was reminded why I never wanted to come back… as I found a hair in my drink. Do yourself a favour and skip this place… 2 bad experiences cannot be a coincidence.

Only reason I didn’t go back to say something was because the staff were not friendly whatsoever and treated me as if they were annoyed that I came in to order breakfast. Wasn’t worth it. Will not return.

Balzac is a great coffee spot. The space is big and airy with many tables. They have many options beyond coffee- I highly recommend their tea latte selection (pro tip- ask for half sweet)! Also, the hours are amazing, it’s open from 7am-7pm so it’s a great spot for a quick coffee or to sit and get work done for a longer period. They have WiFi and a great selection of treats.

It’s not located in one of the main streets so you might think you’re lost when you’re looking for it but don’t let that stop you, I know I’m glad I gave this place a try. The barista (the owner?) is professional and friendly, the interior design looks pretty cool, and their iced latte is amazing.
Two things though, I wish they had more options in terms of pastries and they used those lids that don’t require a straw.

I got a lima bowl. Only good thing about IQ is the order is fully customizable.
Otherwise flavour is okay and portion is very small. The box is small compared to others and it was half filled. Very disappointed.

Simply the best. Better than all the rest. Each cup is perfect. Each order is consistent. When I’m out of town, I crave Wallace Espresso coffee - and also the delicious chocolate croissants they serve.

I walk past this store on the path every morning at ~7:00AM. The one guy
that works there is always already getting ready for the day while all the other stores are closed.
It always looks like he is doing some extra cleaning of the machines or preparing for the day. Definitely want to try it.

Truthfully I planned to go to Kid Lee for dinner but it was closed. The universe directed me here and what a great thing that was! I loved the freshness and unique flavors of my bowl. There was a lemon flavoured sauce which was really the highlight of the meal. The biggest problem you'll have is deciding which delicious item to order from the menu!
I ordered an Americano that was smooth and very well made. The seating is limited, so don’t come here expecting to be guaranteed a spot to sit or to set up shop to do some work. Outdoor seating is also available, even during the winter.
Very OK! I had the Lima bowl but subbed out the chicken for tempeh. I appreciate they let you do the substitutions like that and don't charge extra. With the description of the bowl (pickled cabbage, "spicy" corn, avocado) i expected it to pop with flavour but it didn't do much. Portions are not huge but fair enough. If you are wanting a bowl, I would opt for Kupfert and Kim which is MUCH more favourful and portions are much bigger.
I really like how transparent IQ is about ingredients and calories in their food. I like how they allow you to customize any bowl and discount the price if you remove items. However, this location is seriously understaffed which creates a lot of issues. On one occasion I found chicken in my bowl. The manager was very understanding and refunded me immediately with extra credit towards another meal. But today my soup was given to me cold, without garnish and my piri piri bowl was missing cauliflower. I also waited 20 minutes past the pickup time given to me online. From now on I'll try one of their other locations.
The people who run this spot are always so sweet. Probably my favourite froyo place.

I was very excited and hurried back to the office as last time they run out of bean cakes. When I opened the box, I was shocked how empty it looked, there was hardly any baby kale, literally had 4 pieces of cauliflower and hardly any chickpeas.

The portions are small. They should have a dine-in option (rather than only a take-out option) like at Brookfield place, wherethe dine-in bowls are much larger.
I don't particularly like a type arugala and wanted to switch to spinach, but was not allowed without a charge of over a dollar. Very strange

Very healthy, wholesome, tasty food with unique flavours and attention to detail. A bit pricy but you can tell the food is made with care & thought. The Banana pulp cookie is phenomenal for breakfast or for a feel good yummy snack.
I could eat their Lima bowl (sub their spicy dressing for the orange dijon vinegrette) every day for the rest of my days, but at $13.11 a pop, that's not happening. When I want to treat myself to a yummy but still healthy lunch, this is the go-to spot.

I lucked out and the owner was testing out being open on Saturdays. He offered samples to see what we preferred, explained the options and took the time to make the food beautiful. I'm not from the area, but if I come back in town, I will gladly be back again.
