On Monday 23rd of July my partner and I went to Bun Bo Hue - Song Huong in Springvale. We were greeted by Hien. When we walked in and led us to our table, gave us menus and took our orders. We selected Com Tam - Special Broken Rice. She was an attentive worker especially when it started to become busy. Yen the store owner came over to have a small chat with us. She was friendly and has owned the shop for the past 3 years. The food was delicious. We felt lucky to find such a good place to have lunch. The chef did an amazing job. The food came out quickly too. It’s a welcoming environment with excellent staff and customer service. We look forward to visiting again.

They work very hard. Monday - Sunday 9:30 am - 9:30 pm everyday.. Keep up the good work. :)

Highly recommended. Thank you.

Bun Bo Hue Song Huong is a small Vietnamese restaurant located in Springvale. The interior of the restaurant is quite dim, and it wasn't very busy during our visit.

The restaurant specializes in Vietnamese cuisine and has introduced a few set meals priced around $10 to attract customers. However, it truly embodies the saying "you get what you pay for." While the prices are low, the portion sizes are also quite small. Notably, the Hainanese chicken rice had visible chicken feathers on the meat.

Considering the overall cleanliness and hygiene of the restaurant, I won't be returning. If you're looking for extremely cheap meals, this place might be an option. Otherwise, there are plenty of other better choices in Springvale.

I passed by this restaurant multiple times but decided to check out the Bun Bo Hue on this occasion. True to the photos in other reviews, it has the pork knuckles, Vietnamese ham, and pig's blood jelly. The soup tastes delicious but could be enhanced with more lemon grass shavings. I paid $13 for a medium-sized bowl. The portion was generous. In terms of price, it's cheaper than Nam Giao and Mekong restaurant. If you want BBH, without paying too much, I recommend this restaurant. The spacing between tables is generous, much better than Hung Vuong.
I went back again at 5 pm and was surprised that the specials were still being offered. Ordered the Hainanese chicken rice. Chicken was boneless and tasted good. Rice was fragrant, too. But the ginger sauce is watery, and the accompanying soup had a taste of MSG. Acceptable for the price, but the portion of meat is probably too small for me.
Came here for lunch on a Sunday. It was packed. Most patrons were ordering the specials for $8. I decided to have the large pho with sliced beef and beef balls. The sliced beef was smaller in size than those offered at Pho Nho. I was expecting them to be pieces of rare beef, but they were overcooked. Different from Pho Hung Vuong, too. The taste of the soup is good. I paid $15.
I did not like the atmosphere on a weekend. There is a Pacific Islander family with 5 children sitting behind me, and the kids were screaming. I went to the bathroom and found it to be wet.

Probably the best value restaurant in Melbourne. We had the $8 lunch special. According to the price, the volume, tastes are not bad. That’s the reason why giving a 5 stars instead of 4.
The staff are nice and tried to help. We spent $26 for a small pho and one $8 special dining in and one $8 special Hainan Chicken rice takeaway. I can never find a place getting so much value with only less than $30. Definitely recommend.
It’s not a premium restaurant but if you are looking for values. It is the one.
